Best Mexican food in Memphis. Not your typical "Tex-Mex" style. Fast service from the staff.

I was craving some of those good chips and salsa today so I treated myself to lunch. A while back I stopped in and had lunch at the Quince location and was disappointed. My fingers were crossed today for a better experience. This location is also in n a strip mall and today it wasn't too busy. I was promptly and warmly greeted and seated. A few minutes later she returned with chips and salsa. I ordered immediately because I always get the same thing, Chicken Enchiladas Verdes. Now with all of that out of the way, let's get into the chips. They were crisp, freshly made, perfectly and lightly salted. Now this is what I was missing! My food arrived and it was a good looking and even better tasting plate of food. The Chicken Enchiladas came with a side of rice and refried beans. Been coming here for years over 10 yrs with my family. Today our server mistakenly brought a cheese quesadilla instead of the chicken quesadilla that we ordered (we also had four other entrees). She acknowledged the mistake and brought the correct item after 10 min. She never took the wrong item back. In our check we were charged for the incorrect cheese quesadilla in addition to the chicken quesadilla. Lesson for customers: send back the incorrect order to the kitchen. Lesson for restaurant: comp the incorrect order and keep your customers satisfied otherwise you lose a long term family that has spent hundreds in your establishment. read more

This place is in a strip mall and has limited parking. I have never had a problem finding parking. Plenty of college students come here so it is inexpensive and plain. I usually order carry-out but I decide to eat in this time. The service is good and they definitely give you more food for dine-in then they do for take out. We had chips, salsa, queso, fish taco, gringa taco, and chicken & steak burrito. All the food was great. The chips, salsa, and queso were good but nothing spectacular. The fish taco was better than expected. The gringa taco was the most flavorful dish. The chicken and steak burrito was filled with so much meat that I couldn't even close it. I feel like I would be doing my fellow yelpers a disservice if I didn't update my review. I hate to leave negative reviews so I'll keep it short, but it's definitely not 5 stars. The service is mediocre on its very best day. The food is lacking in seasoning/flavor. The margaritas are still margaritas and I do like the service at the bar *more* than at tables. This place is still amazing years later. They are consistently good and serve fantastic quality food that's a good mix of authentic and non authentic. They are always super busy so be prepared for that when you visit- don't expect to get in and out of here quickly unless you order to-go. Their chips are still fantastic and still some of the best in the area. My favorite thing is still the horchata and pork chop taco, which is a unique thing I haven't seen anywhere else. I think it's best with pico de gallo. The chorizo tacos are also really good but the al pastor and chicken are just ok. Still, this place is a favorite for a reason and I love coming here. read more

My friends and I went to this location instead of the location on Quince. I haven't been to this one is months. First, when I walked in, the restaurant smelled like a cross between mildew and unclean bathrooms. Secondly, we typically get the same thing, which is Chicken Tortilla soup. When it arrived to our table it was incredibly dark and super spicy. It didn't taste right. I ended up not eating very much of it. We won't be returning to this location. Food is ok - run of the mill (Do NOT understand how it got "Best" votes - must have been a slow year). It's the service. Arrived at 6:06 as party of 6. At 6:30 requested to see manager. He never came. Never, ever came. The new server did her level best, but we didn't get water for 30 minutes. That's way way way too long. Should have walked out. 7:35 finally finished dinner. This is NOT a sit-and-enjoy restaurant. Here's the rub: searched out the manager. He provided no apologies, only rationalization. No ownership. A terrible way to do management. We really enjoyed eating here. My wife and her sister had the chicken and beef enchiladas, respectively, with mole sauce and I had the mixed fajitas (alambre style) with corn tortillas (she brought me 9!). Plus, the queso con chorizo and guacamole were great and the chips were perfect. We were also pleased with the salsas. One wouldn't expect so much good food for so little money! I used to love this place. I live close and my fiance and I would eat here at least once or twice a week for probably a year now. Our past four visits, we noticed we kept getting sat in an empty back room by ourselves. We didn't really think anything of it until like the 3rd time in a row we were sat back there alone and noticed they never put anyone else back there. Just us in an empty room several visits in a row. As I started to pay attention this time, every single person that was seated while we ate was in the front main dining area. We tried again today and sure enough, they walked us past all the other guests and empty tables to the completely empty back room again. When I asked if we could be seated at one of the several empty tables in the normal dining area like everyone else I was told "no, this is better here". This felt really odd and we decided just to leave. This felt like some sort of discrimination but I'm truly not sure of what would have motivated this. Im still puzzled and a bit bummed. read more

I came here with a party of 6 at the recommendation of a co-worker. We ordered the streak burrito, chicken taco salad, cheese dip cheese enchiladas, shrimp quesadilla, chicken quesadilla and streak torta without the beans. Everyone finished their meal with no complaints. 2 of us adults had never been to this location before and we said we want to come back again. My friend did say that the one on Quince is quieter as it had some separated areas. Most of the restaurant at this Park location was open floor with a packed restaurant during a Thursday lunch hour. Everything was well seasoned, well cooked, generously portioned and reasonably priced. I personally added some of the cheese dip to my torta. I definitely recommend that. The waitress was quick, especially for a busy and packed restaurant. She memorized our order, so kudos to her memory and brought fresh baskets of chips without us asking. She was truthful when she offered a refill on my horchata and I asked if it was free (it wasn't). They even had to-go containers for the cheese dip. We were all full. We really enjoyed our meal at Las Delícias! The best part was the chips and dip/queso. The employees were so kind and seated us immediately! The prices were really great! The only thing that was kind of weird was the price jump for some of the meals compared to others! One item was around $4.50, while another meal comparable in size was around $9. This is a neighborhood joint, you usually run into the same crowd either for lunch or dinner. That's what makes the ambiance so comfortable. The servers are always pleasant and engaging. You're seated quickly and are offered a tray of home made chips and salsa to get you started. Gone tare the days when you have a paper menu(for the most part, unless you ask for one), so you sit at the table, scan the menu onto your device, and order away. The food came out in record time, although it it really wasn't busy for a Saturday afternoon. We ordered the torta Al pastor, chicken quesadilla and a side if tilapia ceviche. Everything was delicious, the pastor (which is seasoned pork) was awesome, nice and soft, crunchy on the edges where it need to be, fresh avocado wedges. It's all served on a hoagie bun which is just right, not to crunchy and not too soft. The ceviche has a nice bite, fresh pico mixed in with the lime to marinade the tilapia pieces. They didn't skimp on the fish either. There's plenty to go around and it wasn't swimming in juices. Just right. This is one of my favorite joints. All around great place for Mexican food. This place was pretty busy when I came in on a Tuesday for dinner. The hostess told my party of 2 a 40 minute wait and then we came back in 5 minutes later to be seated immediately. The chips are so thick and so so good. This restaurant gets five stars for its beyond delicious and reasonably priced food. They clearly have their restaurant operation down pat. They seat you rapidly and have a good cadence about the way they bring out chips, bring water and take your order. The food came out within 8 to 10 minutes and it was just perfectly flavored! While we could have left within 30 minutes of arrival, the relaxed atmosphere kept us there for another half-hour or so. We even ordered a second round. The Aztec chicken soup is better than your grandma's best chicken soup. I even know people who get their Aztec to go if they have a cold. The soup is FULL of shredded chicken and is topped with a slice of avocado. One person got the chicken quesadillas, which was stuffed with oodles of chicken. Another person got the shrimp quesadilla that was also stuffed to the hilt. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. When the check came, my husband stopped the server and said, "Ah, my wife and I are on the same check." Ends up the check was so reasonable, he thought it was too low to have combined both of our orders. $22 bucks for two meals and he had two beers. This place is one of Memphis' best. They aren't fancy by any means and that's just great in my book! The food is generally always good, fresh, and on point. Any item I have ordered has been mostly amazing (everyone has off days) but I'm stuck on the amazingly simple steak quesadilla. The steak is like chipped away or something because it's not sliced or diced. Maybe it's magic, I don't know... Anyway, the cheese is all gooey and it's all folded in a tasty edible tortilla wrapper. Don't know why nobody mentioned this place to me before during previous visits to Memphis but I'm glad I checked Yelp! and was led to Las Delicias. Hands down the BEST FROZEN MARGARITA I've ever had and I'm amazed at how super duper cold and slushy they served it. it didn't melt quickly at al. I love the warm,crispy tortilla chips that are served with their flavorful chunky salsa. I always order the guacamole too which is excellent - its chunky with a hint of citrus. Honestly, everything we've eaten at Las Delicias has been delicious, lol. Tacos, enchiladas, burritos, beans and rice, chicken soup - everything gets five stars. The customer service is great too from the time you are greeted until the time you walk out - someone is offering you a salutation or asking if there is anything else they can do for you. It's a very spacious restaurant and is pretty crowded every time we eat there. The restaurant is clean, bathrooms tidy and the atmosphere is fun. it's hard to find mexican food that is consistently good but Las Delicious has done it.
