Just wanted to add another 5 star review for Vitalitree. We had several large trees taken down, and were extremely impressed. The guys left our yard cleaner than it started, hauled away the debris leaving just nicely stacked firewood, and were very professional and friendly. Arrived just on time, charged us exactly what their estimate had said (which was very reasonable, lower than other quotes we got), and even vacuumed off our front stoop and picked fallen leaves out of our sandbox. Highly recommend them. Will be using them again for other work. read more

We had a smaller project, removal of a few half dead arborvitae and cutting stumps to the ground. You know, the kind of job that you know you could take care of yourself but 5 years later you are still looking at those half dead trees and you know that 5 years later they will probably still be there. One day I got a bee in my bonnet and emailed Vitatitree (along with others) for a quote. Jean-Luc emailed almost immediately, quickly set up an appointment for an estimate, arrived on time, was very personable and gave me a great quote. I felt duty bound to get other quotes, but had no shows, late shows or just stinky guys with chainsaws. It was a no-brainer, and I set up my appointment to have the work done with Vitalitree. The crew showed up today right on time, they were quick, clean and respectful of my wishes. This is the very first time I've written a review. I was motivated to do so because I was so happy with Jean Luc's service. I hired him to remove two tree-sized rhodies and to trim two trees. In my experience, contractors, even if they're good at one aspect of their work, are often lacking in at least one aspect. In Jean Luc's case, he arrived on time when he did the estimate and the day he did the work, he did exactly what we agreed to, he protected my plants and yard (which I told him was very important to me), he did a great job pruning the trees, and he cleaned up and left my yard as if no one had been working there. Both Jean Luc and his associate were really nice people and very professional. I will definitely call VITALITREE again if I have a need for tree-related services. I own multiple houses in the northwest and have dealt with multiple tree service companies over the years. Vitalitree is the best company I have ever done business with. Most importantly they return phone calls promptly and show up on time. And they are willing to talk to you about all the options. I had a distressed Cherry tree on my property in Ballard. I got multiple quotes and the Vitalitree arborist was the only one who told me they could cut it down OR try to save it. All the other companies just quoted me on cutting it down. I was really impressed with the work they did. The arborist is extremely knowledgeable, they showed up on time to all our appointments, they did excellent work and cleaned up afterward. I was in need of a major wisteria pruning since I am building a new fence for it and was very concerned that the vine would die with improper care. Vitalitree came to my home quickly, assessed my 30 year old giant willow, and came up with a plan that just made sense. His knowledge is extensive and his passion apparent. I had a couple of nasty looking birch trees that were planted several years ago just filling up gutters with leaves and debris. One was simply planted too close to the house. Drew took care of these trees and was gracious when I had to reschedule at the last minute. He also trimmed up a nice cedar tree to make our walkway more accessible. Great service. read more

I had a huge cottonwood that needed removal. The tree was close to both my house and a fence and I have to admit I was suprised when nothing got damaged. A crew of three somehow managed to topple the tree in a day, cleaned up all the branches and were polite and friendly during the process. I was left with a massive amount of wood, but craigslist has provided a wealth of people willing to come pick up free green wood. I would not hesitate to use this company again. Well, I only focused on including as much detail in my review as I felt was useful for others in making their decision, ignoring minor details which has given Vitalitree the wiggle room...accordingly, i feel I should state the following so that other people get a full picture: 1. I was told that Vitalitree can't help my tree after I had merely stated ONE thing, I.e. that the leaves of my cherry blossom have holes in them - i was not given the opportunity to provide any other detail or description. Thus, I have no clue why Vitalitree in their response is stating that they arrived at their conclusion after how I "described" my tree. Furthermore, I wanted to get my cherry blossom and several other of my trees trimmed and pruned, but (a) I was not given the time and opportunity to request that; and (b) after the way i was dealt with, i honestly didn't want to ask them to prune my trees. 2. Secondly, it is my opinion, and I may be wrong, but I don't think a professional judges the condition of a tree only on the basis of ONE statement and proceeds to declare it "stressed or diseased" (as stated in Vitailtrees response on yelp) or simple "dead" (as stated by Vitaitree on the phone) 3. Thirdly, I was so surprised at the way my call was handled that I, after thanking Vitaitree for 2 minutes of their time, specifically told them that I will look for some other arborist MYSELF. Thus, have no clue why they seem to suggest in the review that I took referrals from them. 4. Finally, they completely failed to take into account that many clients are lay people and may not know much anyway - for instance, this other sweet arborist I called heard me, and politely scheduled an appointment, came to visit and told me that (a) my tree is not a cherry blossom, it is a plum; (b) it is not diseased - the holes in leaves are mere insect bites and since his firm does not provide chemical treatments, I may choose to get it done but I don't need to. After listening to his excellent reasoning, I decided not to go for chemical treatments for mere cosmetic value, since my tree is otherwise healthy. I did, however, request a quotation for pruning of seven of my trees (including my plum which I thought was a cherry), trimming /shaping of six other trees, and cutting down of one tree. He provided me with a detailed written quotation the following day. I may be too idealistic, but this is what I call professionalism. Lastly, the way my review has been responded by Vitailtree, I.e. by implying things which are not true, my negative view of them has only been reinforced and now I can confidently say one thing, anything BUT honesty is important to Vitaitree. Had multiple companies come out to give me quotes on about 9 trees I wanted out. Vitalitree's quote for all the trees coming out was by and far the best price. Jean-Luc was very professional and knew what he was talking about. Scheduling was easy, a few emails back and forth about details and the date was set. Did most of the job on Wednesday 10/24, when I got home it looked so different. You could actually see my little house! They were back on Thursday to finish and left all the wood very neatly and out of my way. They even swept the walkway, under the front doormat and everything!! He also helped me get rid of the wood too, by contacting Steve who sometimes will come get your tree rounds. All and all it was a great experience and well worth what I paid! Brandon was very knowledgeable about our trees and shrubs and was able to provide useful recommendations for their care.
