I am very pleased with my experience with Vitalitree. Jake was very pleasant and not judgy at all about my tree that had fallen over a year ago and was growing sideways. :0 His quote was very reasonable for all the work we needed to be done and they were prompt and got the job done sooner than I expected. They cleaned up all the debris and it looked like the trees were just magically removed from our yard. In late November 2017, we needed to get a tree that had a beetle infestation cut down, and have some of our cedar trees limbed up. After contacting a few companies and getting some in-person estimates, we decided to go with Vitalitree because of their great reviews, good price, and prompt communication. Jean-Luc didn't try to oversell and gave a fair and detailed assessment of the work that needed to be done. On the scheduled day the team came and did great work while I was at work. Jean-Luc and his crew removed a holly tree from our property and cut a very large laurel way back to improve access to sunlight in our backyard. He was professional, yet warm and friendly. Emails were promptly responded to and he was on time and efficient. Additionally, I asked him about pruning a wisteria that is out of control and he said quite honestly that he could do it but he recommended that I contact a gardener for that job as it would end up being less expensive. He did not feel it would be the best value for me to have his company do the work because they have very expensive, specialized equipment and a gardener would have lower hourly rates and be more efficient with the wisteria. I appreciated this as he could have just as easily completed the work himself and charged me the same rate as his specialized tree cutting services. Jean - Luc seems to have a vast depth of knowledge about trees and cares deeply about preserving them. He cleaned up after the job very well and even hauled away a pile of yard debris that I had created a week earlier. The overall bill was reasonable for the work he provided and I would hire his company again if I had a need for more tree work. read more

After a fall windstorm, a snag we had left for the birds finally came down. We called several arborists; only Jean-Luc of Vitalitree was able to find time to consult with us. He noted that an aged Atlas Cedar was likely to shed a large branch which was hanging over the house and could also use some trimming for weight reduction. He also agreed that a sad flowering plum was decaying and needed to be removed. The estimate for this work was quite reasonable. When the day came to do the work, he and his helper arrived promptly and set right to work. I asked if they could save some of the rounds from the larger sections, which they did, even stacking them for me. After about 6 hours, they finished up. When I went to inspect I was impressed not only with the quality of the job but at how well they cleaned up afterward--the yard and driveway were cleaner than before they arrived! Jean Luc was knowledgable about all of my trees at my new house, and the unfortunate poor health they were in. He quoted me nearly a third less than 2 other companies for their removal. He and his team arrived on time, were safety conscious, did a couple extra tasks at no extra charge, took away all of the branches, and even swept the path so that it looked better than they found it. Positive start, NEGATIVE end. 08/07/17: Brandan was prompt at arriving to provide what I thought would be an Arborist Estimate Report. Find out at the end of the appointment that I needed to request an Arborist Report, which he could not do for 1-2 weeks. 08/08/17: Follow text to Brandan, what is needed to obtain the desired, detailed, Arborist Report. He replied, stating "I thought I sent the estimate already". Cleared up confusion of what email it should be sent to, validated what an Arborist Report would consist of. 08/09/17: Missed a call from Brandan, tried to call back with no reply. Sent a text, stating it looked like I missed his call, asked what was needed. 08/10/17: Text Brandan, asking how I can get him back onsite for the Arborist estimate. 08/28/17: I left a Request to Contact on Vitalitree's website 08/29/17: Jean-Luc emailed me, stating this was the first he heard of this, and would contact me after 'getting to the bottom of what is happening' 08/30/17: Brandan text received, stating he already provided an Estimate and if I needed more information that would entail him doing an Arborist Report. He would not be able to start the report for 1-2 weeks, and needed a couple days to prepare it. 08/30/17: I replied to Brandan's email, stating I only received an initial proposal, but no Estimate, and included the email he could send the Estimate to. 09/08/17: Emailed Jean-Luc, stating an Arborist Report is what I was requesting, and would reach out to Brandan again for this. 09/08/17: Jean-Luc replied, "to be clear the estimate just states work and how muchbit will cost, it does not state the health or condition of the trees" 09/08/17: Additional email exchanges with Jean-Luc finally had us agreeing what was being requested, what it included, and that money would be charged for "professional opinions and a written report". I replied it was completely understood, and that, "An Arborist report is what I am pursuing". 09/11/17: Text Brandan, informing him, "I look forward to to hearing from you this week, to schedule the Arborist estimate" 09/14/17: Emailed Brandan and Jean-Luc, summarizing the communication attempts, asking, "two weeks have passed, so when can I expect to hear from you?" 09/18/17(11:06AM): Emailed both Brandan and Jean-Luc, "Gentlemen,Will I be hearing from you today?" and included my Work and Cell phone numbers. 09/18/17(2:05PM): Emailed both Brandan and Jean-Luc, "Gentlemen,Will I be hearing from you today?" and included my Work and Cell phone numbers 09/21/17(10:24AM): Emailed both Brandan and Jean-Luc, "Gentlemen,Will I be hearing from you today?" and included my Work and Cell phone numbers It is unclear to me how so many others can give glowing Yelp reviews, when after 45-days I am STILL without an Arborist Report from Vitalitree, and have not received communications from them since 09/08/17. We had a large spruce that was dead and needed to be removed. It was leaning in the direction of our house so it needed to be taken care of. Jean-Luc and his assistant came out and took care of it, plus trimmed our fruit trees and took down a diseased birch. They took care of everything efficiently and left NO mess at all. Very efficient and neat. They cut the spruce wood into manageable lengths for burning and stacked it all neatly. Their price was very good for the work they did. A+++ I had a most upsetting situation with three 125'+ populars that were shedding dangerous amounts of branches and limbs. I called many services, but Vitalitree was BY FAR the most economical quote as well as being the most comprehensive: they gave me a cost breakdown for taking one, two, or all the trees, the difference between having them haul the wood or having me deal with it, etc. Jake was really thoughtful and clear about the process, and managed the city permit side of things which I was grateful for. When the time came they were true to their word and safely brought down the trees (which has power lines through them) and without damaging my driveway adjacent. They stayed true to their word about the clean up and hauling away all the debris, and Jake kept really informed about every part of the process. All in all it was an incredibly professional experience and I would use them again in minute and I can't recommend them enough. read more

We chose this company based on the number of 5 star reviews they got. Jean Luc was quick to respond and was able to drop in between jobs to give us a bid. The bid was very reasonable and we scheduled to have them come back a week later. They arrived today and went to work. They took out Mugo Pine that was 15 feet in diameter and nearly as tall, a weeping Sequoia that had grown too close to the house and we feared its roots might damage a nearby drain. He also took down a Mountain Hemlock that was too close to the house and was looking shabby because of the Sequoia. Then they trimmed up the Weeping Birch and cleaned up all the cuttings. We were amazed that their chipper was able to chew up ten inch round logs with no trouble. They were friendly and efficient. I would recommend them to my neighbors and anyone else. Super shout out to Vitalitree and owner-proprietor Jean-Luc for taking care of a really big and complicated job -- on time and for a fair price. Our 50+ year old Siberian Elm had grown so big that it hovered over our house and our neighbor's house. It had been losing limbs and causing damage every time a windstorm blew. Jean-Luc inspected and gave us the options. Ultimately we decided it had to come down. It was a complicated two day job with lots of rigging and careful felling of very dense and heavy Elm tree limbs and it happened with no damage to the yards, houses or fences! Jean-Luc has a great crew and they worked efficiently and left the yard looking great. In addition to felling the tree they also ground the stump. I think Jean-Luc and Vitalitree are as good as gets for experience, communication, efficiency, safety, communication and value! 10 out of 10!! read more

Vitalitree came out to prune various trees in our yard and did a great job! They made sure not to trample the plants underneath AND guess what? They cleaned up all of the leaves in the yard! These guys are great. There was a windstorm that took down a huge tree right onto the house which caused extensive damage to the house and cars. Of course we're all freaking out. Trying to call our insurance company, trying to get our power cut off because there were branches from the tree pulling the lines down, had to call the fire department, had to evacuate the house....it was a traumatic situation and we felt like we were getting the run around from everyone except Vitalitree. We called them the next morning after the tree came down and they moved us to the top of their priority based upon our current situation. In 30 mins they were at our house accessing the damage, trying to figure out the best way to take down the tree without causing further damage to the house. they were able to clear out part of the tree within the first day, and completed the whole job within 3 days (they had to get a crane in, etc.) I appreciated how responsive and reliable they were. The first day they came out they had a couple of other jobs lined up (trees were falling everywhere due to the windstorm) and they came back out that same night and worked a little bit more until they felt like it was unsafe for them to continue working due to pure exhaustion. I appreciate that, they know their limits and aren't willing to compromise safety just to get a job done. We have another tree that is sketchy and we don't want to risk it so we'll be calling these guys again to come back out and handle that. read more

I had a large mimosa tree removed and several other trees trimmed. Jean-Luc and his crew were excellent. For one, Jean-Luc has an exceptional knowledge of trees, how they grow and how to prune them. He made a few suggestions that were right on. He was very careful not to damage the surrounding vegetation in a very tight working area. The crew cleaned up completely. Had them prune a large hedge 2 years ago and they did a good job for $300. Called them to come back out and the email quote I got was $750.... for the same hedge. Huh? Labor costs more than doubled? I emailed back but got no response. I left a voice message for Jean Luc but again, no response. It doesn't instill confidence. read more

I was in need of tree thinning to keep our trees healthy and keep them away from nearby power lines. Vitalitree answered the phone promptly, got a quote to me quickly via email, and kept me updated. A couple other companies gave less prompt quotes, didn't want the work, or flat out didn't even bother responding back. I prefer communication by email and Jake was great at replying back super quickly. We needed some trees removed, pruned and thinned. We looked online and found Vitalitree's reviews quite remarkable, so we gave Jean-Luc a call. He came out in a timely manner, educated us on our trees, and recommended which ones to keep, and which ones to remove. He and his colleague arrived as scheduled, were very thoughtful and accommodating to our needs. They trimmed each tree in a way that was best for the tree, and also aesthetically pleasing. When the job was complete, they cleaned up the yard so nicely, it was cleaner than when they arrived. The final bill was incredibly reasonable. I called Vitalitree on a Saturday to see how quickly I could get a fruit tree trimmed in my backyard to improve my satellite tv connection. Very quickly Jean Luc called back then came by to survey the situation. Jean Luc is easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable. He gave me a quick lesson on the other trees on the property and an estimate for the work - which included trimming a fruit tree in the front and hauling the trimmings away..
