We had part of an ~80ft maple fall in our backyard on a Wednesday morning in May 2024 around 1am, and 3 of its other offshoots were still standing. A number of services came to give us quotes that Wednesday and Thursday. Matthew from Dominant said they could take our tree down as an emergency service that Friday and gave us a solid quote for the job. We chose them for their timeliness and safety - the use of a bucket truck rather than climbers. His team of 4 arrived around 11am. They had the fallen tree cleared except for logs we requested be left and cut down the remaining standing trees by 5pm! We were so impressed with the speed. They left one truckload of wood chips from the branches for us. Many of the rounds were enormous and left in hard places to get to, but that was in part due to a damaged shed the tree had knocked over. The invoice was sent over a week later, and we paid after that. Overall a solid experience, and I'd definitely call them for other tree removal. read more

I needed someone to do an overall prune of a property with many trees. Andy my estimator had some thoughtful comments about the different trees on the property. The team that came out was efficient and also thoughtful. The crew lead gave me some tips about the likely longer term future of a couple tricky trees on the property. They are respectful of permit rules, I have one tree with many trunks that they trimmed as much as they could but suggested I'll need to revisit it this summer when it's more clear how much is dead and make sure it's finished off within permit rules. They don't do permits themselves but can refer someone to help if the homeowner isn't up for it. There was quite a bit of debris from the trimming but when they left the yard was fully tidied, the furniture moved back into place, and the decaying gate carefully closed with a prop against it. I recently used Dominant to remove a dying tree very close to my property line with my neighbors. The request for an estimate/assessment was prompt and I had someone out to look at it within a day. I received an estimate within a few days (I don't remember - it could have been the next day, it was pretty quick). They did mention that they were scheduling 1-2 weeks out and someone would contact me to finalize after accepting the estimate. I received a call much sooner that they had a schedule opening so they asked if that would work for me, and it did. The work was professional and both my and my neighbor's property were cleaned up with zero damage. I opted to keep the wood and the rounds were left neatly stacked near where the tree was. I actually didn't bother to get other quotes because of the positive reviews from multiple different sources and because I felt the estimate was very reasonable and that their insurance/registration/etc info was sent along with it. The final bill was equal to the estimate so no surprises there. I will very likely use their services again in the future. I was shocked how professional they are. They came, did the job and left in two hours. They don't fool around nor even chat. Everyone is serious working. For trees by driveway, they used bucket truck to trim branches on 30 foot evergreen trees. For oak tree in the back yard which bucket truck couldn't access, the guy climbed the tree and used chainsaw. I can't tell you if the estimate is comparable because this is the only estimate I got. I am the neighbor of a property in north Seattle where these guys butchered a big, wonderful cedar tree and utterly changed my back yard. In addition, I guess because I wasn't paying them, they treated me and my property with total disrepect. They dropped big branches on my rose bush, birdbath, potted plants, and ferns until I complained, then they started moving things which they never put back. They trampled my ferns and made no effort to reduce the damage they were doing. And, even though they were hired to only remove the lowest hanging branches, they cut way up the tree and removed major branches. Now, my view, instead of being a nice cedar, I see my neighbor's roof. They removed all of the windbreak, shade, and view so that my back yard is no longer the same. My shade plants will all get too much sun now. The back of the house is now exposed to the western setting sun.
