Our house is surrounded by beautiful, messy locust trees, one of which dropped a couple of big branches on our roof and on our power line. Andy came out to take a look and give an estimate, and while he was here we discussed other major work on another locust that would keep our roof safe in the future. I was impressed by Andy's knowledge and experience, and his estimate turned out to be slightly lower than another estimate we'd gotten, so we went with Dominant. A few days later Matthew arrived right on time with his crew. In addition to the branch removals, tree shaping and trimming, Matthew took the time to replace an old cable on our biggest locust that he saw was cutting into the bark with a superior cabling system. He and his crew were all so helpful, pleasant, and respectful of the yard and garden. Despite all the heavy branches that needed trimming, there was no damage to anything and cleanup was above and beyond. If you need this kind of work done I can highly recommend Dominant to take care of you. read more

I saw the MANY positive reviews of Dominant Tree Service on Yelp. Had them remove two tall dead trees. Their price was reasonable and the crew was great!! Safety first in their work and answered all my questions. I would definitely use them again! read more

They did an amazing job pruning back a massively overgrown Laurel on our property line. Excellent communication, fair price, and high quality work. The space feels so much more open and looks incredible. Highly recommend! read more

We had part of an ~80ft maple fall in our backyard on a Wednesday morning in May 2024 around 1am, and 3 of its other offshoots were still standing. A number of services came to give us quotes that Wednesday and Thursday. Matthew from Dominant said they could take our tree down as an emergency service that Friday and gave us a solid quote for the job. We chose them for their timeliness and safety - the use of a bucket truck rather than climbers. His team of 4 arrived around 11am. They had the fallen tree cleared except for logs we requested be left and cut down the remaining standing trees by 5pm! We were so impressed with the speed. They left one truckload of wood chips from the branches for us. Many of the rounds were enormous and left in hard places to get to, but that was in part due to a damaged shed the tree had knocked over. The invoice was sent over a week later, and we paid after that. Overall a solid experience, and I'd definitely call them for other tree removal. read more

Incredible and professional service. Proper diagnosis, fast responses, friendly. Will use again.

Good results and reasonable price. But very poor communication. Ignored repeated emails and phone calls, didn't get a timeframe for arrival. Phone number on site didn't match the phone number on their quote (but they didn't answer either). But in the end, the team did show up and they were very friendly and efficient. The results look good but I hope the company improves its communication and responsiveness. read more

Dominant Tree Service - After tree trim - Tree Services Near Me

True professionals. 3rd time hiring them for tree triming services. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

We contacted Dominant Tree Service for an estimate on having a tree stump ground and/or removed. It was an obstruction and eyesore since the bomb cyclone a couple of years ago. Part of the stump was still in the ground; the rest was big, heavy, and laying close by. Their estimate was very reasonable, and they completed the job on time with eye-pleasing results. It is nice to have the yard open again. We highly recommend Dominant Tree Service! read more

I needed someone to do an overall prune of a property with many trees. Andy my estimator had some thoughtful comments about the different trees on the property. The team that came out was efficient and also thoughtful. The crew lead gave me some tips about the likely longer term future of a couple tricky trees on the property. They are respectful of permit rules, I have one tree with many trunks that they trimmed as much as they could but suggested I'll need to revisit it this summer when it's more clear how much is dead and make sure it's finished off within permit rules. They don't do permits themselves but can refer someone to help if the homeowner isn't up for it. There was quite a bit of debris from the trimming but when they left the yard was fully tidied, the furniture moved back into place, and the decaying gate carefully closed with a prop against it. Thank you! The final cost was as estimated. read more

Best estimate after shopping around. The team cut trees, removed the rounds, and did stump grinding. We had a hiccup with getting 811 to mark lines prior to grinding, but Matthew addressed it himself. The team did great work, will use again. read more

Matthew (owner) and his team did an EXCELLENT job cutting down + grinding two trees on my property, and a tree trim. They were priced competitively, friendly, on-time and knowledgable. Matthew has been around for 10+ years, licensed, bonded and a knowledgable arborist. (who even warned us of a leaf foliage disease affecting our maple, hence they best path to trim it) Would highly recommend! read more

Dominant gave us a very reasonable quote for cutting two poplar trees on our property. Andy was the arborist who came out to evaluate the trees, he was very kind and knowledgeable! Matt also went above and beyond, and wrote an email to the city about the declining health of the trees. read more

I haven't had any tree work done by them (I don't actually have any trees in my yard!), Dominant just dropped me a free load of chips via Chip Drop (it's a service where you can request chips and/or logs). The two gentleman who dropped off the chips were great, friendly and professional. They were also wearing appropriate PPE for cutting, so I can only assume they're on top of their game. Thanks! read more

Dependable, Fair, Trustworthy. We have been going to Matt and Andy for various tree services over the past 6 years and they have consistently delivered on every job. Their team is comprised of top notch professionals that are super courteous and respectful. They leave the place cleaner than before the job started. Highly recommend and have done so plenty of times! read more

Matt's team is awesome! I love how they are service-minded and attentive to details. They trimmed a few trees for us recently. Originally they said they were booked out about 3 weeks. But 2 days after I approved the quote I got a call from Matt that they happened to be nearby and could get the job done right that day. Not only did they remove the branches I asked to, they also tidied up all the lower branches and kept the site clean. read more

I was shocked how professional they are. They came, did the job and left in two hours. They don't fool around nor even chat. Everyone is serious working. For trees by driveway, they used bucket truck to trim branches on 30 foot evergreen trees. For oak tree in the back yard which bucket truck couldn't access, the guy climbed the tree and used chainsaw. I can't tell you if the estimate is comparable because this is the only estimate I got. The estimate indicated "trim three trees" which was so brief that I was concerned but Andy told me the guys knew what to do. He was right! read more

I recently used Dominant to remove a dying tree very close to my property line with my neighbors. The request for an estimate/assessment was prompt and I had someone out to look at it within a day. I received an estimate within a few days (I don't remember - it could have been the next day, it was pretty quick). They did mention that they were scheduling 1-2 weeks out and someone would contact me to finalize after accepting the estimate. I received a call much sooner that they had a schedule opening so they asked if that would work for me, and it did. The work was professional and both my and my neighbor's property were cleaned up with zero damage. I opted to keep the wood and the rounds were left neatly stacked near where the tree was. I actually didn't bother to get other quotes because of the positive reviews from multiple different sources and because I felt the estimate was very reasonable and that their insurance/registration/etc info was sent along with it. The final bill was equal to the estimate so no surprises there. I will very likely use their services again in the future. I got some free advice on another healthy tree on my property that might need some maintenance in the future (years out). There was absolutely 0 pressure or attempts to upsell at any point. read more

Highly recommend Dominant, they came out even with a busy season after a windstorm and gave me an honest appraisal of the safety of the trees on my property and didn't push services at all. Really appreciated their help, expertise and honesty. Will definitely be using them again for any tree service needs read more

Matthew and his crew were here today to remove a tree, grind several stumps, and trim another dead tree back. They did a great job! From the time they arrived, they never stopped working. The crew was outstanding! I cannot say enough good things about this company! The do a great job, they offer very fair pricing, and their advice is professional and very helpful. These days, it's hard to find good, honest, reliable companies to provide home services. Dominant is one of the best, and we will be using them for all of our tree-service needs! read more

I am the neighbor of a property in north Seattle where these guys butchered a big, wonderful cedar tree and utterly changed my back yard. In addition, I guess because I wasn't paying them, they treated me and my property with total disrepect. They dropped big branches on my rose bush, birdbath, potted plants, and ferns until I complained, then they started moving things which they never put back. They trampled my ferns and made no effort to reduce the damage they were doing. And, even though they were hired to only remove the lowest hanging branches, they cut way up the tree and removed major branches. Now, my view, instead of being a nice cedar, I see my neighbor's roof. They removed all of the windbreak, shade, and view so that my back yard is no longer the same. My shade plants will all get too much sun now. The back of the house is now exposed to the western setting sun. So, if you want tension with your neighborts and an irreversible hack job done on a very old, huge tree- call these guys. read more

Highly recommend Dominant Tree Service for their quick response and thorough/speedy tree service. A large tree fell down on our front yard during the heavy winds and we needed a tree service that could hopefully come do an estimate right away in the morning. Within 15 minutes of my Yelp quote request, I got a response for more information. Within a little more than an hour, a crew of three showed up along with the estimator and they were able to get started right away. The whole job to cut apart the fallen tree, get it through the wood chipper and all the branches and leaves cleaned up took just a little over an hour. I'm not sure how pricing compares with others, but for the speedy resolution and thorough job, I'm so glad I went with them. read more

They came out on memorial day to remove a big tree that fell on my roof. Extremely professional and nice and got everything done and removed in 5 hours. Amazing crew- only snafu was they left me a bunch of logs and said they would be back to pick them up and then called me and said they have to charge $350 to pick them up. Just don't like when they say one thing and then change their minds. But overall good job. read more

Very responsive, reasonably priced, did very quick and good work, left the yard cleaner than before the tree fell.

Dominant Tree Service - Tree Services Near Me

We bought a house last year that had a couple of trees that had not been trimmed for a while and another tree that had to be removed as they were leaning towards our neighbors house. In addition, we had a few old tree stumps that Andy and his helped us with. From estimate to setting up the time up to completion of the work, While I was in Seattle during the estimate phase, I had to communicate/coordinate via text with Andy across the country during the work phase. I could ask for a better company to deal with. I highly recommend Dominant Tree Service! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Domjnant Tree Service. I'm a reluctant Yelp user and generally prefer to go by recommendations from friends and family. However, after getting multiple bids for the removal of a very large maple (80 footer), which were higher than I was hoping to pay, I decided to get a quote from Dominant Tree Service. They were great from the get-go. Excellent communication, seemed solid / trustworthy and bid was competitive. Dominant connected me with an independent arborist (who was also masterful), had great follow up with questions on permit prices and, once hired, Domjnant's work was top notch. They were punctual, professional, thoughtful about protecting our surrounding landscaping and property and removed this huge (diseased) tree (dare I say) artfully. In summary, I can see why this company has nearly 150 almost 5 star reviews. They're competent, informative, and all around nice guys. We live in N.E. Seattle - lots of big trees. I've recommended them already to neighbors and would not hesitate to hire them again. Many thanks to Matthew and his crew! read more

Recently reached out to this company about dealing with a potentially troublesome underground root. I was so impressed with how quick they were to respond and even more impressed by their knowledge. Dominant Tree Service - Taking down the tree in the backyard. - Tree Services Near Me

The team did an amazing job taking down a 100' fir tree, trimming a size-able tree limb off a cedar tree, and raising the canopy by 6 feet for another two trees. The crew of 3 (Matthew, Doug and another) were onsite on time in the morning and very courteous in going through the expectation of the work order with me and detailing some of the characteristics of those trees. The crew was experienced and was able to get the job done efficiently and completed the job in about 3 hours. The wood from the tree were piled neatly along the fence. They also spent the time to clean up the saw dust from the cuts. I would recommend them to others. read more

If you ever need a tree service, one with a certified arborist, I highly recommend Dominant Tree Service. Beginning with the first contact where they actually answered the phone all the way to the last branch they picked up before leaving, the Dominant Tree crew were exceedingly professional--on time with fair pricing, meticulous and careful while here, asked my opinion regarding aesthetics, and left our yard cleaner than before they arrived. A friendly crew of five trimmed deadwood from very tall firs and an old oak, removed heavy branches at risk of coming down, thinned branches to ease wind flow, and pruned a mature rhododendron to improve our kitchen window view. They even removed three small tree stumps, little tripping hazards, at no additional charge. It can be a challenge finding good service people and when you hire a hardworking crew doing outstanding work, you want to share with others. read more

We had 4 very large cottonwood trees that were very close to our house as well as an evergreen removed. They were able to schedule us within a reasonable amount of time.
