They have a high rating but, I would be cautious. I had them give me a bid from some work and it was a very reasonable 100 bucks. As I examined the paperwork it was actually written in scribblese, as what could only be interpreted as 900 dollars. Might have had the work done and had quite the surprise. I did not call to schedule, obviously. Other than that, the staff seems freindly, but definitely make sure to clarify anything that could be clerically misinterpreted. It was likely not an issue, but it raised my hackles. read more

Fabian and his team at Eco Tree NW did an excellent job trimming our trees and removing one tree at our home. We have a quarter acre and a number of trees, including some that are in our neighbor's yard. They handled this very well, were safe, and were thoughtful in ensuring we got appropriate permissions from our neighbors so that they could best access the tree on their land to trim in the healthiest and most aesthetically pleasing way for both parties. They also suggested some healthy pruning of other trees we hadn't considered that ended up being a fantastic choice, as the overall look is SO much better! We have more light, a bigger-looking yard, and still retained privacy between us and our neighbors. The trees also look healthier. I can't recommend them enough! I was referred to John by a client and met with him on July 29, 2024. He provided an estimate for tree trimming and recommended scheduling the work for late October. We set the date for October 30, 2024. On October 21, 2024, I received a call from Eco Tree NW stating they were no longer available and rescheduled for December 19, 2024. On December 18, 2024, at 8:30 PM, I received an email informing me that the work would be rescheduled once again. I had rearranged a flight to be back in town specifically for this job. The team of three arrived exactly when they said they would. They knew what I had requested to be done and after a quick chat they went to work. They were extremely fast and efficient. I was absolutely amazed at how easy it was for them to cut down 30 foot branches 30 feet up in the air. They were an absolute delight to watch. Extremely efficient! When they were finished, they cleaned up everything and it looked as if they hadn't been there. During a spring windstorm, we had down a large hemlock come down and damage the cedar next to it. Jim gave a competitive price to cut down several arborvite in my front yard. He had a crew that worked on Saturday so that was convenient as I wanted to be home to monitor the job and move my cars out of the way. The crew (two guys) were very friendly and knowledgeable. On the morning of the job, I added a few other trees and stumps to remove and grind. They gave me an onsite estimate which I also found rather reasonable. They worked efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly once they were finished in each area. Two of my neighbors actually hired them on the spot for a quick tree removal also. They gave me specific instructions regarding the recommended power drop. They piled up the wood next to my driveway, cut in perfect length pieces that could be further split for firewood, easily accessible for hauling away. This time it was to remove a very large Douglas Fir in order to let in some sunlight when the sun is low between late Fall and early Spring. (We will be re-planting the area.) My recent experience with ECO TREE NORTHWEST is a very poor one. I have an apple tree that is pruned every other year. Eco Tree put me on their schedule; it's the time of year when pruners are busy so 4 weeks out was acceptable, but when Jason showed up a month later he said that he was not going to be able to do the job because he's tied up with a $10,000 job and he was only going to break even on mine. Granted, it's a small job but is it good business practice with your customers to keep them waiting a month for the service only to be told to look for another company? I think a better response would be: "You've been a loyal customer. . .we'll do it as promised and agreed but in the future I will fit small jobs in as I can and my minimum of $XXX will increase." I would have spoken to the owner, but Jason IS the owner. So, based on my experience, if you're a small job be advised that they may schedule you but leave you in a lurch later if a more lucrative job comes along. I don't call that business integrity. read more

I could not have been more impressed; he came out, looked at my property, shared his expertise with tree diagnosis, and asked what I wished to do. When John, who works for him, came, he was right on time (He had contacted me twice to ascertain times and dates, as my schedule had changed). John was incredible: physically versed in the job, capable, knowledgable, experienced, efficient - AND he cleaned up the yard completely, making it look as though mere stumps had been there all the time. When I asked him how he came to work for Jim, he shared that he did so due to Jim's good reviews, stating that he would not work for anyone with a poor standing/review/reputation. Great at cutting the trees (4 Stars) there, but cleaning up after (3 Stars). There clean up, was not so good, as my neighbor had limbs and other debris in his yard, which I did not realize until I saw him cleaning up. I should not have had to do that. Trees, great job, would have liked to see the trunks a little closer to the ground. I would suggest that you make sure you are out there when they are done, to sign off. read more

They said they would send someone out to do an estimate between 10 and 1. 1 comes along and nobody shows up so I called to see what was going on and they said they didn't call to let to let me know they couldn't show up the day they said they would.
