Took time to assess the situation and showed compassion for the trees we requested to remove by offering alternative before agreeing to cut it down. We reluctantly cut it since it was destroying our fence line with a neighbor and growing too far into their property. The cost was reasonable. We did get a quote for cheaper and one for twice the cost, but Joe was the best person and made personal connections with us, showed his care for the tree, was able to provide a contact to help cut up the tree for fire wood, and was clearly an arbor expert. My experience with Devoted Tree Solutions was awesome - customer service, professionalism, value of job - everything was great. Proposal - we had 6 tree companies come. Devoted had the best service and price for the job. Matthew, the arborist, stood out amongst the rest. He truly cared for the tree and took time to walk around my backyard to assess further things I should consider. We decided nothing else, but he told me details about every tree I had! Now I know what's in my backyard. We had a huge big leaf maple we had to take care of, and Matthew proposed we keep the tree while cutting down the dead stem. We had a consultation done by Joe who analyzed the health of our trees. I didn't realize he was coming from an hour away, so that shows how much dedication these guys have for their jobs, and the love of our trees. We recently had a neighbor complain about our tree potentially posing a hazard of falling on their house because it was rotting. Joe came and confirm the tree is very healthy and it's natural to have a tree split to grow into two trees. He genuinely cares about preserving the tree and was honest throughout the whole consult. He quoted it'd be very expensive to remove the tree of that size, and with our city, we cannot remove a landmark(protected) tree unless it's decaying. I also had him look at another tree that was leaning towards my house and was worried that could fall, he confirmed that one is healthy as well but did note that ANY tree can fall with high enough winds. I wanted to share my frustration that I faced while working with Devoted Tree Solutions. I paid the 10% deposit to clean up a bunch of trees on my property in April 2023. I have been trying to get the cleanup scheduled for over six months now and not getting any progress on that. Apparently there has been some merger of Devoted Tree Solutions with another company and all my calls are forwarded to that other company who are not able to get the scheduling done. I have also asked for a refund so that I can work with some other company to get this work done, but they are also declining to issue a refund. So, I am in a limbo. I submitted my request for information via Yelp and quickly received the information I requested. The arborist arrived on time as scheduled for our initial consultation. Devoted Tree Solutions removed 5 trees for us we had 3 over 100'. They were too close to our house and we were worried about the branches that would fall from snow loads and high winds. Another tree had our power line going through the branches. Another one was kinda leaning towards our house. They contacted the power company and scheduled the power line drop & hook up. They dropped all the trees safely without any damage to our house. We also had them arrange for our stump grinding. Honestly blown away with the customer service from the Devoted family. I originally reached out to several contractors, including Devoted. They were quick to respond, and although they were not the cheapest, we went with them. Why? The main reason is because of thoroughness and attention to detail. Joe, our arborist, did a full walkthrough and really took his time to explain what was going on in our yard. He was very kind and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. It didn't feel like a, "Here's what's wrong with your backyard and here's a price" consultation. Rather, it really felt like he took his time to make sure we understood everything he was saying - the best sales tactic in my opinion! Although I wish it were a little more time efficient (Joe had to come twice, once to consult, and then again to measure and give us a proper quote), I would rather take more time than less to ensure everything is done properly. I gave him a "yes" on the spot and we got to work! The proposal was thorough and included pictures of our yard, something Joe was clearly proud of. It sounds like the Devoted owners took time and money to build software to support their quote and intake process (money well spent IMO!) They helped us file the permit application on our behalf which was also nice (saves me time.) As soon as it was approved, they were here the next day. The work was all done in one full day, and they took time to clean up around the yard and house, and also cleaned up debris that fell onto my neighbor's yard. So sweet! The only thing they forgot was to put back all the lights that lined our entryway. We'll still have to go do that. Post-appointment, Joe still asked if there was anything he could do to help, and he's connecting us with people that do wood haul away, and we'll be also looking for a landscaper to get some new privacy trees planted where things were removed. I am several weeks late in complimenting this firm. First, we had a walk through of what we wanted or thought we wanted. Matt helped us determine what was best rather than what we thought would be best. He spent a great deal of time and documented everything on paper and via photos. I only have really good things to say about these guys. All the way from first contact, when somebody knocked on my door and asked if needed tree service. I informed the nice lady that we had recently moved into this property and I have no experience with trees, all I know is that during inspection I was asked to get some trees serviced. And we ended up setting up a visit from an Arborist (Matthew). Matthew was awesome we have around 20 trees in out property (Douglas Fir, Big Leaf Maple, Japanese Maple and more) he walked the property with me and explaining what to look for and how to identify if a tree needs work. He was really genuine, the reason I know it is because the home inspector identified 5 trees that he thought needed work and Matthew told me to wait for a year or two for two of the five trees we ended up working on. So we scheduled work for three trees one cutting to stump, and two cleaning (where one of the tree is 100+ year old over 140ft height). Next touchpoint was the team that came to work on the trees (Robert and his crew). Again only good things to say about them, they came on time worked extremely professionally and cleaned up the area and left it cleaner than what they started with. They also cleaned up a lot of branches that I had lying (which I was disposing off weekly due to limit on the amount I could fit in my compost container) and chipped it down in their industrial grade chopper. Unfortunately, the fallen tree's twin, with which it shared a common location and possible root system, was still standing and a possible risk. Using Yelp, I told my story of concern to roughly eight different tree service companies. Thankfully, Paddy at Devoted Tree Solutions was quick to engage with me. First online and then directly via a call, she understood my predicament, empathized with my concern and jumped into solution mode. Joe, a consulting arborist with Devoted was able to make it to the house on Saturday 12/24 to review the damage and discuss alternatives. Having a knack for turning a complex problem into a set of simple decisions, Joe walked me through my choices. We agreed on a path forward. Joe took his time explaining to me the scope of work as documented in the quote, ensuring that I knew each step that would be taken. Joe had a keen eye on the crew schedule and believed that Monday 12/26 the work could be started. Come Monday, it happened just as Joe had stated. Tom and his crew arrived to survey the situation. He (Tom) confirmed with me the scope of work and laid out the approach that the crew would be taking. Within a few hours, they successfully completed the initial phase of the project, taking care of the fallen tree, the troublesome "twin" and clean up. The lawn had not been mowed in several weeks due to our recent move into the house, and it was looking really bad. The work they did was amazing! They were extremely fast and efficient, but careful. In the front, they edged the sidewalks and driveway and removed the leaves in addition to mowing. In our large backyard, they mowed, picked up the leaves and edged as well. I had originally thought this would be a one-time only service, however I have asked them if they could set us up for a regular bi-weekly schedule and an agreement was made. Love the work they did on the trees, but minus a star for some poor scheduling and communication. I got about five quotes from well-rated tree trimming companies on Yelp. Devoted was one of the lowest priced, but not the lowest. I went with them because the arborist they sent out, Matt, was very thorough and helpful in explaining what work I might want done and why. Some other companies showed up and just asked exactly what I wanted done - which I don't know, which is why I wanted to call in an expert to tell me. I mainly wanted more lighting and less maintenance and wasn't sure what was the best way to achieve that while preserving the safety and health of the trees. I ended up asking to remove two trees and pruning and skirting up a few more, plus trimming an overgrown hedge. I was told the work would be done in about 6 weeks. I asked exactly how close to 6 weeks, like it might take 8 weeks? Matt said oh no, like maybe latest 6 and a half weeks. He said I'd receive a call in about 4 weeks to schedule the actual date of the service. He also sent me a neighbor permission form to have my next-door neighbors sign since some of the work involved entering their property. About 4 weeks in I hadn't received a call from them yet, so I called to ask if I should schedule my service. They said they don't schedule it until I send in the neighbor permission forms. This was a disappointing surprise to me because I was never told beforehand that the scheduling was contingent upon them receiving the form. They said not to worry because we were still on schedule. Within the next day I got the forms signed and sent them to Matt as they asked me to. Matt acknowledged receiving the forms. A few days later I called them to ask about scheduling again. They said they still hadn't received the neighbor permission forms. I emailed Matt again. A few days later they finally called me to schedule the service, a few weeks out. This date was 8-9 weeks after the original estimate, not the 6 weeks I was told. I told them the issue about the forms and scheduling and they told me that was the soonest they could get the job done. My tree needs weren't urgent so this miscommunication and delay wasn't a dealbreaker, but it definitely was a frustrating point in the whole process. On the day of the service, the crew arrived before 8 in the morning, double checked with me which trees to remove and trim, and got to work. They were friendly, professional, and seemed to enjoy their work. They wrapped up before 2pm and left my property cleaner than it was before they got here. I really enjoy my backyard being more opened up and brighter! Overall Devoted did a great job with the initial consultation and the actual service, and all at a competitive price. I would get a quote from them in the future if I needed more work done, and I would also recommend them to anyone who needed tree services. Poor experience all around. Poor experience started when attempting to book a tree trimming. Had to call 3 times to get an appointment with an arborist. During the initial consultation, we agreed on a "crown clean", which was described as "removing the sticks caught in the top of the tree, trimming the branches poking into the neighbor's yard, and assessing the health of the remaining limbs for follow-up trimming." I was quoted "about $1500" on the spot, which turned out to be $2000. I was told that they would handle all clean up of my and neighbor's yards. 30 hours before the appointment, I get a text from the arborist that I needed to find my neighbors and get them to sign a consent form. This is bad because (A) this was part of the included package, (B) very short notice. Luckily, they were home and I was able to catch them, but quite an unprofessional outcome. On the day of the trimming, the workers came in and cut many large branches, significantly decreasing the amount of shade the tree will provide. They left the branches that were poking into the neighbor's yard. There was no knock or communication with me. Once I realized that they had left, I tried calling the office during office hours (about 11 AM on an Monday), but got the answering machine. The arborist that I made the appointment with eventually did call back, and offered a half-hearted "whelp, sorry" sort of apology after attempting to convince me that I misremembered the original conversation. Overall, I am very disappointed with the service provided, and would not recommend this service to anyone. EDIT: got a call from the manager, and discussed that there were some process failings - notably that there are typically walkthroughs before and after the job. Doesn't put the branches back, but this may be fixed for future clients. read more

These guys are excellent. Very professional start to finish. They took down 2 60' Alders, cleaned up a big old Douglas fir, pruned 6 fruit trees and trimmed up an arborvitae hedge. They scheduled the work when I was out of town, and when I returned I was actually surprised at how good everything looked. All the wood from the big Alders was hauled away, and they put some serious effort into yard clean up. I had to look close to see where the trees hit the ground, or find wood chips from the chain saws. Cost was very competitive, about 15% more than the lowest bid, and about 40% less than the highest bid.
