I had two dangerous 120ft+ Doug Firs by my house -- one standing dead and one with a large vertical crack and lean. I spoke with five companies, and of those five, Kenny Tree was the only company that: - Came out on the same day I called. Within about an hour, actually. - Gave an estimate on the spot. - Offered to have a crew out the very next morning. - Was actually willing to take down both trees and haul the wood (three companies declined to handle one or both trees for various reasons). - Didn't try to upsell me on any services. - Didn't try to get me to tear down parts of my fence or remove limbs from other nearby trees. - After I strung them along for over a week while I collected other bids, they were STILL able to be there the next morning after I signed. - Completed the work in an hour less than the estimated time. While I initially thought the estimate seemed high, it turned out to be half of what the other companies wanted to charge (of those that were even willing to do the job). There's a lot of variance between what these companies are willing to do and how much they charge for it. I'm glad I went with Luke, Loren, & the guys, and I'll be recommending them to the neighbors. read more

We just had an old plum tree removed yesterday (sadly, it was dying). They did a fantastic job. Done in one day. It was in a difficult location to access, so I was expecting some damage somewhere as they had to navigate a bunch of surrounding bushes. They were very careful and there was none. They also did a nice job taking down a section of fence and replacing it so they could access our neighbors yard where the tree hung over. Kenny Tree is an EXCELLENT company! We have used them on two separate occasions and have been very happy with their pricing and quality of work. Luke was easy and pleasant to work with, and made the process seamless from estimate to payment. We were absolutely amazed that they were able to remove ten trees (9 large fir trees and 1 smaller tree) in one day. I was guessing that a job that size would take at least two full days, but they worked so expeditiously that they completed the entire job in one day! They also took the time to clean up really well and even blew off our neighbors roof (our trees were close to their house, so the sawing created a mess on their roof). Thanks to Luke, Loren, and the Kenny crew for the removal of our large cedar and two medium-sized hemlocks. The 5-person crew showed up promptly at 9 am and worked their butts off. I'm stunned at how quickly it went and I appreciate how clean they left the yard. I met with the arborist, Lloyd and was quickly impressed with his knowledge of trees. I also liked that he was extremely punctual and had an easy trustworthy air about him. As a result he got my business and I'm glad he did because he did a superb job. I have super tall trees that had lots of hanging limbs that needed to be trimmed. We worked with Kenny Tree to have a 50+ foot double trunk tree removed from the front of our house. From Quote to execution, they were knowledgeable and provided great communication on expectations. The morning of the project, they brought a team of 4 guys to get the job done. Their teamwork from making sure branches were falling in acceptable places and directing traffic so cars could not be in the way, was on point. Don't Believe the Hype. Based on the reviews here, I contacted these folks on several different occasions: 1) Emailed them months ago from their website near the start of the Covid thing. I asked if they were open during this crisis. No Reply. Ok. Understandable. Though there was nothing on their website about them not being opened, unless I missed it. 2) Emailed them again this past May (so 2 months after the initial contact). Enclosed photos. Told them what I had for trees to deal with. Again, no answer. Figured it was still the Covid thing. 2) In August, when things had relaxed a bit, I emailed them a 3rd time from their website and asked if they were open. Explained that I had emailed prior a few times and never heard back. I get an email a few hours later "What's your availability look like this coming week?". That's all it says. This from a cell phone and nothing to say who it is other than the email address. No signature. No 'Thanks' or anything. Hmm. Weird. 4 minutes after I get the email, I send them "I'm available anytime this week, just let me know". I hear nothing back. 4 days later, I email the person back and say "Thanks, we're going with another company". SUDDENLY, I get a reply. "I can shoot over today, just need your address..." So later that day, their guy comes out. Nice guy. First words out of the car were something about 'new data system is fouled up' or something. Hmm, ok. It's an email... He looks around my property tells me how his arborist can do a great job and has won all these awards or something similar. Great! "Let me get him out here and he can look things over to make sure I haven't said anything incorrect and so he can see what's involved". There was more conversation that wasn't related to the job, and he said he'd get back to me. Never saw him or heard from him again. Maybe it's old fashioned, but FOLLOW UP and SERVICE are everything in business. Especially these days when people are clamouring for work and a paycheck. While this guy was a nice guy, I gave the company more than a few chances to come through and earn my business. Apparently they have too much work, or my 3k job wasn't enough or something. Interesting that there are so many 'glowing' reviews here on Yelp. I can't remember a time when I've experienced service this bad. I contacted 2 other tree companies. They were ABSOLUTELY on the ball and called me back within minutes, set up the estimate, and we locked in a company a few days after speaking with them. AVOID. read more

Kenny went the extra mile and did the research with the city with the end result of no permit needed. My wife and I just bought a house and our inspector recommended removing two large Arborvitae growing next to the eaves/roof of the home to avoid moss growth and clogged gutters. We solicited a few quotes, including from Kenny Tree, for the removal as well as cleaning of several large trees on our property. Andrew from Kenny Tree called us the evening of our quote to ask if we'd like to take advantage of a gap in their schedule the following day due to projected sun that was not there previously (seems like they may have under-scheduled due to expected rain/wind) and we jumped at it. The team came out and took down the shrubs (they were as tall as trees (20ft+)), cleaned up, and left within a couple of hours. No damage was done to the house and the property was well looked after while they were here. Would not hesitate to use them again to take down additional trees. read more
