Under two years ago (fall of 2024), we contacted three tree services companies to get quotes for multiple tree services. Hitman Tree came highly recommended from a friend. Sadly, out of the three companies, Hitman Tree was the only company who didn't reply despite more than one request on their website. The winds were gusting to 60 mph and the huge evergreen tree in the front yard was cracking down the middle and preparing to fall on my house at any moment. Highly and truly recommend! (my 1st review) Hitman Tree helped us remove a blue spruce about 50 ft tall + a small pine. They demonstrated impressive level of professionalism and care of the plants/structures around the work site. I looked for help to remove 2 big trees at my backyard. I quoted from 3 companies and Mike gave me the best price so I decided to proceed. On the service day, Mike and his team arrived on time. They are very professional, answering any questiosn I had. The whole process went through very smoothly, although the 2 trees are very close to my house and my neighbors' house, and I had some concerns whether the limbs will fall into my neighbor's backyard. After the tree removal, they also clean all the debris on the deck at my backyard, the debris on the foryard and the community roads, cleaned up all debris generated during the tree removal. In addition, Mike told me a decoration top of a handrail was damaged although I didn't noticed that. He promised to fix it; he stopped by again to re-install the fixed decoration top. So you want to get a hold of them you got to call them most businesses don't respond to messages on Yelp or Google or Facebook they got a phone number you got to call him that way. But they came out in an emergency they charge $2,000 less than everybody else they removed everything off of the house they removed all the branches out of the yard they chopped up all of the wood in the yard they left it stacked up for all the neighbors to come take. They never stopped working for 3 hours they cut Non-Stop the one gentleman did stop to drink something and then went back to cutting. Unbelievable on their worth ethics. Wow, glad I found these guys. The online bid process was much easier than I expected and Mike's bid was significantly lower than the rest of the bids we got to remove 7 overgrown junipers. The crew was on time and completed the job much faster and more efficiently than I anticipated (which was nice because lots of our neighbors work from home). The crew did a great job of clean up and after the job Mike even walked around our property for a little consult on the rest of our trees...he said all were in great shape and no further work was needed (could have tried to up-sell me on unnecessary services). He even called me after the job, said he made an incorrect assumption on our bid and LOWERED the invoice, saving us even more! That's about as honest as you can get. Mike is a highly experienced tree engineer and he has a team of trusted crews! He might not be very responsive to the Yelp message or email, and sometimes the tech stuff confuses him. But when the team starts working, the work speaks for itself. I have reached out to 4 other tree services, all of them tried to complete the work by using those fancy and expensive bucket trucks, tarps, etc. And they told me the tree is dangerous and can fall on my house any time. But the truth is the tree has survived the 2 fierce storms that happened last year in Greater Seattle Area. Mike's team is realistic. And he certainly knows better about the tree. They use the most simple method to disassemble the tree safely. On that day only 3 vehicles were needed to do the work. Mike and his crew are amazing!!! This is the first time I use their service and I'm super satisfied with their work. I have a deck built around a big fir tree and all my other bid are based on a full day of work to zip down all branches/trunk (in order to protect the deck). Some of the tree companies are even reluctant to take the work because of the challenge. Mike and his crew came onsite without talking about any difficulties and got the work done only in few hours (thus charge a lot less then others). They not only zip down all branches/carry down trunks, but also cleaned my yard (deck, drive way, roof, debris fallen on nearby trees) and even my neighbors yard. I don't typically write reviews but I had such a great experience with Hitman and their employees that I wanted to make sure others could have the same opportunity. THE BOTTOM LINE: Their pricing is great; they did great work on a technical job and moved through everything else seamlessly; and they're nice, hard-working, down-to-earth people. I can't imagine asking for more. I was happy with the amount I paid and I even surprised them by offering a tip. Background: I have experience on what to expect because over the past year I've received 7 bids from different companies (all of whom also had great reviews on Yelp). The job was to take down two trees (large), remove deadwood from a few huge firs, and remove an old ivy skeleton from a large maple. I wanted the wood chopped into small rounds I can split for the fireplace and to keep wood chips. Prior to starting work: When I contacted Hitman for a quote, Mike (the owner) was professional and provided an upfront transparent bid (other companies didn't include tax or details on what was/was not included). The bid was on the lower end (orders of magnitude lower than the highest bid I received!) so I checked out their website and felt reassured they know what they're doing and we would be a good fit. Their website has great pictures and demonstrates that they know what they're doing (their approach allows them to take trees down without it hitting your house or nearby structures). On the job: They showed up on time, asked clarifying questions to ensure we were on the same page about the trees and even specific limbs to remove, and setup their operation to be efficient for me and them (e.g., woodchipper sprayed woodchips exactly where I wanted them). Their team worked in concert with each other to make what seemed like a technical job simple. It was fascinating to watch. During the job they kept the site orderly and the wood rounds were neatly stacked for me to split later on. In fact, two of my neighbors visited while Hitman was onsite and were so impressed that they're now going to use Hitman instead of the tree company they were going to use (pricing was better than what they had heard; Hitman's operation impressed them; and Mike took the time to speak with them about their projects, offering well-reasoned info). Post job: They cleaned up their equipment, raked and picked up debris, and the owner did a once-over to double-check everything looked great. They even did a few favors for me by cutting some other stumps down from a previous company's job for free. After Mike made sure I was satisfied and it was time to pay, he walked me through the cost. It was based on the same criteria and inputs as the original bid so the price was completely in line with my expectations. I was nervous the price would be substantially higher than the bid (we've all had companies where everything goes great until the ol' bait and switch) but nope, they were transparent and honest all the way through. As I mentioned above, I did provide a tip because it felt like the right thing to do and I was happy to do it (they didn't ask or hint for it, nor did they expect it). After receiving overwhelming number of recommendations about hitman tree from my colleagues, I made up my mind to use their service regardless of price. I got the price quotes from a good number of businesses and hitman tree offered signicantly lower quote than the second lowest quote I received. Normally, I would worry about the quality when I use a low cost service. Well, you cannot do a better job than they did. I am a picky person but I would say their work was perfect. I cannot even believe this is possible at this price. My project was not a big job (cutting a bunch of small trees like Italian Cypress and one large pine tree). I was expecting to see about two guys with small tools to show up as that was the pattern I saw from my neighbors even for bigger job than ours. Had Mike's crew out to remove three trees that were growing close to our house. I didn't receive a reply from the online bid request, but received an immediate call back when I left a voicemail. They were going to try and make it out that day, but a job ran over. To accommodate me, he scheduled me in first thing on Monday.
