Eastside timbers is phenomenal! The crew did a fantastic and safe job with cutting down a tree in our front yard that was in a tricky location near power lines. They had 4 people who came and efficiently worked for ~2.5 hours and got the job done quickly. I noticed they used safety harness and ropes when cutting so the branches would fall where they expected. Large chunks were also aimed to fall in safe areas and I never worried that any of our fencing, house, or surrounding areas would be impacted. Derek and team are very kind and trustworthy, I would definitely recommend and use their services again in the future. I hired this company two years ago to remove some large fir trees and grind the stumps in my yard. In the contract they says they would grind the stump 8 inches BELOW the ground. However, some parts of the stump is still 4 inches ABOVE the ground. As a results, I couldn't plant privacy hedge trees in a straight row to avoid the remaining of the large stump. UPDATED: I couldn't see the ground because it was cover by wood chips from stump grinding. I only found out the problem when I hired someone to plant privacy hedges for me. Two of the hedge trees couldn't survive because of the remaining of the old stump. Was I supposed to dig through the wood chip pile after you left to double check if the stump is still above the ground? read more

This is a long overdue review for Eastside Timber & Property Development since I have already used them 3 times for tree trimming and removal service over the last few years. I think I don't need to say much more since all the great reviews here pretty much summed up my experience. I requested a quote by texting Brian and was scheduled an appointment for right after. Brian who gave me the quote was frank and professional. Their rate is actually very good compare to a number of other similar companies in Seattle area. His estimate is fair so as long as I live in the area, I will hire them. He did not ask for a review but I wrote this because they did a good job. We had some tricky building restraints, they got creative, and got everything to work; most other arborists didn't even want to bother with finding a solution with minimal impact to my property and neighbors. Okay, Derek and Brian got me out of another tree jam. My Real Estate Broker and I were busy prepping my home for sale when we realized the huge gigantic oak tree in the front yard had to go. We called them for a quote to de-risk our electrical and cable lines, which had been in some rather precarious positions during the snowstorm. They came out promptly and gave us a quote reasonable enough for us to not bother trying to shop around. When the crew came to do the job, they had no qualms with cleaning up a couple of downed branches for me as well. I'm not sure what I was expecting from their billing, but it was surprisingly modern and easy. Overall, they were professional, responsive, and well-priced. We had a large branch fall and then get caught in our maple tree in the last snowstorm. It was hanging in such a way that it could eventually fall on either our house or our neighbors'. I called a well-rated tree service who came right away and quoted me an incredibly high price to remove the branch. The next morning, I called another tree service recommended by a friend and was told he'd come that afternoon or the next day to look at it. Long story short: he never came. I called Eastside Timber & Property Management and left a message at around 2:00 on a Friday and explained the situation. Within an hour, Brian called and asked me to send a few photos of the tree/branch. Once I did, he told me he'd call me back with a quote, which he did, AND IT WAS INCREDIBLY REASONABLE, unlike the quote I got from the first company. A guy came the next morning, on a Saturday, and took care of the branch for us within about an hour. Great service, super responsive, reasonable pricing. I will hire them again. read more

I have not done business directly with Derek. I am a neighbor of someone who had a good amount of work done. From what I witnessed, his team is focused, efficient and does quality work. In my experience there are other companies comparable to them in both quality and price. Listening to my neighbor, it's clear his decision point was cost, as it is in many of the reviews. I have quite a bit of tree work needed, and I was assessing if I'd do work with Derek. I talked with a couple of his guys, and was impressed, and would likely hire both to do work on my property. For Derek, I found I was of tertiary importance, that he wasn't willing to give me the time of day, and he fundamentally blew me off when his crew told him on two occasions that I wanted to talk with him about some work. I then noticed how clean they left the customer's yard, but left me with about 30 minutes of clean up work of the branches that fell to my property and were not cleaned up. Not a big deal to me, but that last 1% makes a big difference. read more
