We had both safety and view concerns with the trees on our property. Tree133 was extremely professional all the way through - prompt, timely, organized, focused on safety and tree health, meticulous in pruning, property protection, and clean up, detail oriented and courteous. They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive bid we got for the work; but they were the most professional, the most organized, and the most focused on both the aesthetic work of the trimming AND the health of the trees. They are a great company to work with if: you want the work done well, the first time. You want your trees and property to look better afterwards. You don't want to worry about a person accidentally catapulting off a hundred foot tall Douglas Fir on your property. You value arborists that show up on time and are a well organized, detail-oriented team. On my research: One company reached out to us for tree work when we first moved in - their quote was triple what Tree133 ended up charging, so I put the work off for a couple of years. When I decided to get quotes for the work: another company was nice, but did not show up when we asked them to for the quote because I wanted to walk through the work with them, took a week to deliver the quote, and was half of what Tree133 ended up charging. They called me within 15 minutes of my email and gave me some feedback based on where I live, unfortunately I live too far away and the cost wouldn't be worth the services. I didn't end up using Tree133, so this review is strictly for their customer service which was hands down the best out of all the businesses I contacted. Both Joanna and Craig were personable and professional. I reached out on Yelp for a quote and Joanna got back to me within an hour to schedule a visit for an estimate, which happened within a week. I also received a confirmation email with the date and time of visit. On the day of the estimate, Craig reached out and let me know he was on his way. A stark contrast to some of the other businesses who either 1) didn't reply at all, 2) confirmed they received my RFQ but didn't get back to me until days later, 3) called with no warning asking if they could visit within the hour, or 4) set up a time to provide an estimate and then just no showed. Craig, a certified arborist, took his time with the estimate and provided an abundance of knowledge, which was extremely helpful for a tree newbie like myself. He didn't attempt to upsell and provided realistic expectations of the services he recommended. Craig even took the time to research a tree and its growth potential after his visit, providing me with even more decision making knowledge. Tree133 is the first and probably the only company I would recommend to anyone needing experienced service for their trees. Even when I initially had contacted them asking for a very specific service that they did not provide, they did not ignore my message, but went out of their way to put me in touch with someone who did. And later when I did have a project that I needed their help with, they knocked it out of the park. I had a small tree that needed to be removed. I expected it to take a three man crew and half a day's time. Landon showed up and finished the job in a couple hours and had the place looking better than when he started. Tree133 pruned a Deodar Cedar and two Black Walnut trees for me. They were very professional, prompt and thorough. These certified arborists climb the trees to reach even the most difficult branches. They safely lowered limbs by rope to avoid any property or utility line damage. All debris was removed and the yard was meticulously cleaned before they left. The work statement estimate was clearly defined, expectations were properly set and every detail was communicated. I wish all businesses were this well run. I had a positive experience working with Tree133 to do a relatively small job (too small for some of the larger firms) of pruning back a couple of trees -- one that was rubbing against our home. I found them using the International Society of Arboriculture "Find an Arborist" tool so I knew they would be thoughtful in their approach. They were quick to respond to provide an estimate. Their prices were competitive to other bids I received. Like all other arborists, there was a pretty long wait between bid and getting the job done (~6 weeks), but throughout the process -- from bid to completion -- their communication was clear and they stuck to their schedule. They arrived on time on the day of the job and completed it as discussed. I was emailed an invoice that I could pay online. Unlike another service I talked to, they took the time to describe their assessment of the tree's growth with me, and how we might prune to optimize for the tree's health. We have historically used the two largest and best known tree services in Seattle to prune our trees both are national operations, and we asked for a quote. We then noticed Tree133 in Volunteer Park, they were doing pro bono work and teaching a seminar on tree safety to other arborists. All of their trucks present at the park were immaculately clean. Their web site is great as well. Given the level of expertise and professionalism, we were expecting a higher price than the national companies, in fact it was meaningfully less! Joanna keeps the place running, and Craig is the arborist extraordinaire. He travels internationally to keep up on the latest techniques each year. The man loves and knows his trees. He has multiple crews that work for his Company, and floats between their jobs. The crew guys were all superb as well, polite, on-time and conscientious. We have two 100+ foot evergreen trees. The arborists climbed to the top, and pruned the trees by hand - no chain saws - no noise. Even the chipper / shredder they use was the quietest we have ever encountered. This is a superb, world-class, yet small and locally owned business that deserves all the support we can give them. I gave Tree133 a call since I felt like I'd neglected my trees long enough. Craig was super responsive and we had an appointment set up for the following week. I knew I was going to enjoy working with Craig as soon as he said "hello". He has one of the most approachable personalities and I immediately connected with him. His professionalism and knowledge came through in spades - a true "tree whisperer". He took time to walk through the entire yard with me and explained what he saw with each tree...even using laser pointers to highlight observations on our towering pine trees. I felt heard and understood all of his points. He put together a very detailed line-item-by-line-item estimate and we started work a few weeks after. Tree133 provided excellent service for a tree maintenance project we had done February 15, 2023. About two months earlier, Tree133's lead arborist and a credentialed tree risk assessor, Craig, performed a very thorough evaluation of the tree removal, trimming and bracing work I needed done on our residential property. He provided many helpful suggestions and was fully engaged with me in planning the work. He was highly skilled in preparing a detailed proposal that guided the crew from Tree133 who did the work. His scope of work made it easy for the crew leader, Jacob, and I to review the items to be completed when he arrived on site with his crew. Throughout the process, Tree133 kept me informed of scheduling and requirements for on-site space for their equipment. The work was the quietest tree trimming project I have ever experienced, as the power saws were all battery powered. There was no roar of chainsaws which usually disrupt the peace and calm of a neighborhood. All the work was accomplished to my complete satisfaction, including a very thorough cleanup of debris. I, unfortunately, cannot recommend Tree133 as I think they are an example of what is unfortunately too common these days: people doing their job poorly AND treating their customers terribly. Tree133 was recommended to me by my garden consultant and friend and so I hired them without pause to prune, remove dead branches, etc...from my large cherry tree. Well, the end result seems barely touched. There are still dead branches and also areas that are classified as "Deranged"...basically, the classic areas for any pruning to be done. I sent 1 photo of a dead branch example and 1 photo of a "deranged" example to Tree133, assuming they would correct the poor job they did. The owner said they would come and correct ONLY the two instances I sent photos of! When I confirmed that they would not fix the entire poor job they did, I told them not to bother. My garden consultant and I will never work with Tree133 again or recommend them to anyone again. read more

We had a fabulous experience working with Craig and Tree 133. Craig did a very thorough walk of our entire property, assessing the health of each of our trees, addressing our concerns and also educating us along the way. His crew had all of their work done ahead of schedule on the day of our tree removal, he coordinated every bit of the prep work (city needing to clear electrical lines, renting a lift) and didn't expect to be paid anything for the additional time he spent on those details. They cleaned up the worksite so our yard looked better than it did before they started, we were able to keep all of the chips and wood rounds from the removed tree.
