Our condo association engaged Blooma Tree last year to do directional pruning and get branches and leaves off and away from our building's roof. They did a detailed bid, engaged their arborist to answer a tree health question, and provided education about the work they do to stay within our budget and within the city's tree protection orders. The price was competitive to some other big players in the city so it was an easy choice. Their crew expertly planned their tasks and made preparations for safety before completing their work. They did an excellent job compared to the heavy handed chop that the Seattle City Light crews do.

The crew that did work at my neighbo's house, which included the part owner, was rude & presumptuous. They pulled up, blocking our driveway with their chipper & placed their orange cones across the front of our driveway, then trampled across our property to get to the neighbors back yard. When I told them to stop trespassing & move their truck & cones so they were no longer blocking our driveway, they dropped a pile of branches on my rhubarb planTed next to my driveway. They acted like we were the jerks for not wanting our driveway blocked & when I took a pic of their truck the part owner came to our door to ask if there was a problem- and still didn't apologize. They are jerks- don't use

Extremely disappointed with Blooma services. When they came out for the quote they seemed competent, asked good questions, made good observations, and suggestions. Unfortunately, this didn't translate into the work. They left the two trees clearly interfering with power lines; removing these two trees from the wires was one of the main reasons we hired them in the first place and that we clearly communicated to them when we got our quote. What is so disappointing and unprofessional is that Blooma wasn't willing at all to make things right; no willingness to work with us after we spent close to $3k for essentially these two trees. The photo below is post-pruning. I'd recommend finding a different arborist.

Treee133 thoroughly impressed me; I was extremely pleased with the every aspect of our interactions. Everyone involved was knowledgable, professional, and very friendly, from initial contact through the free assessment/estimate and finally to the work crew who came out to handle the job. They were prompt in all their responses, showed up when they said they would, and finished the work quickly and cleanly. I could not have been happier with the outcome. I will not hesitate to call them again If I find myself needing similar services.

They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive bid we got for the work; but they were the most professional, the most organized, and the most focused on both the aesthetic work of the trimming AND the health of the trees. They are a great company to work with if: you want the work done well, the first time. You want your trees and property to look better afterwards. You don't want to worry about a person accidentally catapulting off a hundred foot tall Douglas Fir on your property. You value arborists that show up on time and are a well organized, detail-oriented team. On my research: One company reached out to us for tree work when we first moved in - their quote was triple what Tree133 ended up charging, so I put the work off for a couple of years. When I decided to get quotes for the work: another company was nice, but did not show up when we asked them to for the quote because I wanted to walk through the work with them, took a week to deliver the quote, and was half of what Tree133 ended up charging. A third company didn't even call us back. A fourth company was so disorganized that we couldn't even set up a time for a quote.

When I went outside to ask what was going on, she stated I wouldn't be able to park in front of my house. I said oh, what date? "It's on the sign. I have no idea." When I questioned the reasoning of blocking our driveway and parking she said, "do you have a problem or something?" I explained we have a young child and parking further away can be a burden especially if it's raining. "It's just for one day, she said." When I told her she couldn't just block my front path and driveway with signs, she started yelling at me and said, "it's legal for me this is a public street." She then angrily folded up the sign and marched up our stairs and put the sign on our property. She put the sign on top of some of our halloween decorations and knocked them over. I told her she was trespassing on private property and she wasn't allowed to put her sign on my land. She said, "are you going to be a pain in the ass to me because I am to you?" I said absolutely now get off my property. This is a local business with a bad attitude. I don't appreciate a confrontational business owner coming to my property to tell me what they need to do. Had she kindly asked or explained, it would not have been a problem. Go with someone else.

Trent stopped by to take a look and was an absolute pleasure to discuss the risk posed by the tree. You can tell he lives, breathes, and loves trees. I asked a lot of questions eager for his expertise. We left feeling extremely comfortable we can keep our tree, with good homework on how to gauge future risk. Thanks Trent and NW Arbor!

We've used NW Arboriculture several times over the years, and they've been consistently honest,…read moreethical, competitively priced, and skilled. After our most recent project with them, I decided it was finally time to give Trent, Heather, and their outstanding team the great review they deserve. For this project, we obtained bids from three other companies in the area while waiting for Trent to come out and bid the project. (NW Arboriculture's only drawback is that they typically book out pretty far in advance, but I'll explain why that may be a good thing a bit later.) Two out of the other three local companies counseled us that we needed to remove a couple of very large trees (that we hadn't been worried about) - at a cost of thousands of dollars per tree - that were in danger of falling down due to disease or damage. Interestingly, their recommendations for which trees needed removal were not identical. The third company's estimator did not recommend the same removals, but the post-visit bidding process was strangely non-specific, and he contradicted himself multiple times during a single conversation. As we were still waiting for NW Arboriculture to come out and bid the project, we hired an independent arborist for a couple hundred bucks to come out and evaluate every tree and shrub on our property. That was money well-spent. He explained why much of what the first two companies' estimators told us was completely wrong. I suppose the generous interpretation is that they just didn't know what they didn't know. The less generous interpretation is that they're frankly unethical. When Trent from NW Arboriculture came out to bid the project, he told us the same stuff as did the independent arborist, which was tremendously reassuring. Further, the great thing about NWA is that the person who bids the project works the project. We had so many items on our bid, that I don't think things would have gone as smoothly if one of the other companies (which don't necessarily have the estimator on the job site) had done the job. Anyway, this is part of the reason why it takes so long for NWA to come out to bid; they have to balance giving estimates with actually doing work. But it's worth the wait. With respect to the work itself, the team was able to take down a bunch of trees without damaging any shrubs that they promised in advance to not damage. I think one had to be sacrificed, but we were counseled about that during the bidding process. They also were very patient and easy to work with during the trimming of some large trees, as we gave them feedback regarding the look we were trying to achieve. About 4-5 hours after starting this sizable project, they wrapped up and cleared away all debris, to the point where our driveway looks more pristine than it has all year. Then they moved on to my neighbor's house and spent the rest of the day there. I asked him if he was happy with their work, and he responded that they did outstanding work for him as well. In summary, I may not even bother with multiple bids in the future, as this process has proven that NWA is clearly one of the best tree removal companies, and unfortunately some of the others in this area are either less knowledgable and/or frankly unethical.
