Five stars, all the way :) From the initial phone call to set up an appointment, I knew I made the right decision in calling this office. Being new to the area and someone who makes some decisions based on reviews, I noticed his glowing review and gave this office a shot. They receptionist was able to give me a convenient time for me only three days in advance, which is pretty quick and awesome in my opinion. I spoke with two employees on the phone and I wish I remembered their names to give a shout out because they were incredibly helpful, friendly, and warm. They send you a text, if you prefer, as a reminder for your appointment. So effective. They are open Saturdays, which was great for people like myself who work during the week. The office is nice and clean and you will never be neglected. A few employees made sure I was being helped and quickly got me back to see the doctor. Dr. Dodge walked out to the front to greet me with a big smile and lead me back to my examination. I have terrible vision and have only been to one doctor my entire life, but I was always very comfortable and well taken care of by Dr. Dodge and his staff. He was funny, warm, and EXTREMELY thorough, which I find very important in any kind of doctor. He was amazing and never rushed me or pushed me to pay for anything I didn't want to. He explains every machine to you throughout the examination and works hard to develop a good relationship with you as the customer. I don't have vision insurance and still the prices were very reasonable. To my surprise, they were running a special today and I got a 50% discount! Who can complain about that?! Let me end this by saying, I have never written a yelp review, but Dr. Dodge and his staff blew me away so much I just had to give them the feedback. They are wonderful and even if I move, I will drive however long it takes to go back here year after year. read more

I never thought an eye exam could be so much fun! From the eye test - which are more like a video game - to picking out my specks, I had a blast! The doctors and staff at Visualeyes are great. Not only are they efficient and friendly, but they're downright cool! Dr. Lee Dodge (fellow dog lover) is so personable. He takes his time with you, listens and gets to know you. I highly recommend Visualeyes!!! The only drawback is the location. The office itself is great. Unfortunately the parking is terrible. I must preface this stellar review with two qualifiers: A, I rarely write Yahoo reviews and #2, I am a harsh critic. That said, when I write that Dr. Dodge is the best optometrist that I have ever been to - EVER - it's authentic praise (see #2 above). He did my entire exam himself rather than having me sit in a room with 5 machines and an indifferent assistant; he educated me about my eyes (now I know why I'm not comfortable driving at night), and he didn't insist that I have my eyes dilated. Plus he's a true gentleman. If you do have the common sense to visit Visualeyes, hope that you have the good fortune to be helped by the very lovely and warm Rochelle. She's a total gem. Dr. Dodge is very patient. He explained everything in details and satisfied the needs of customers. The office staff are also very kind and friendly. I asked for a pair of special contact lens (ortho-k) and not every eye doctor can do the prescription since it requires an additional license. Do not go to this Dr everyone. He does not know what he is doing. He could not put the prescription correctly three times. The pain was excruciating end up going to another Dr on Reseda. At the other Dr everything done at one time correctly although it took him 10 days to put a tint on my glass but, all over with the new dr was a good experience. I called Dr Lee spoke their manager was not co-operative at all. All i asked for was to put the prescription that the new Dr prescribed as her dumb ass Dr could not figure it out correctly was refused to put it in. They charged my insurence a tons of money. I did not even asked her for the fees that I paid to the new Dr or anything. I tell all my friends not to go to that immature Dr Lee in Sherman Oaks. Visual Eyes was a pleasure to work with. I have never worn glasses and this is my first visit to what I intend to be long term professional care. The receptionist was very kind and conducted the first set of tests in a friendly an enjoyable way. The optometrist, Dr. Younany, was extremely courteous, competent and professional. Very friendly staff. When you get an eye test, you don't have the puff of air going in your eyes. They were very honest about what I could and could not afford with my insurance. I got the lenses that were anti-reflective and they had a purplish tent. They switched them out no problem for me. Definitely recommend. read more

My family and I are lifelong patients of Dr. Dodge. He's incredibly welcoming and his entire staff give the utmost care. They've always been great at keeping in touch while waiting for your contacts/glasses to arrive. I went here with Iritis in October......I went there with red itchy, light sensitive left eye. The process of getting this cleared was long and agonizing. My body didn't ween of the steroid drops well the first time through the treatment so I basically had to go through it all twice. The People: Everyone there was so wonderful, patient and extremely accommodating. When I say everyone I mean everyone.....I don't think I've ever had such a good experience on any level at any service oriented business. The people here are genuinely nice people. Outcome: I'm all better....I can see(woohoo!)....I'd recommend them to anyone needing any eye related help....glasses...whatever. I have been a patient since before Dr. Dodge took over this practice - I have been a patient for over about 9 years. Even when I moved to the other side of L.A I still came to Visual Eyes - honestly at this point I feel like family when I walk in the door and they now take care of not just me but my husband and now also my son. Dr.Dodge is up on the latest techniques always available for an emergency appointment - I literally could not be a more satisfied customer. I see another comment mentioned parking, yes that area its kind of a pain at times but usually I can park on Moorpark easily if the lot is full but I prefer to schedule at times it won't be as busy its def worth a little extra time for parking. I would give Visualeyes 6 stars if I could. Dr. Dodge is thorough and professional with a great bedside manner. He explains everything so you understand exactly what's going on during your examination. The staff there is likewise terrific. Abra, my Optician was the best! She spent over an hour with me as I seemingly tried on every pair of glasses they had while also adding her own suggestions and giving me great feedback. It felt more like I was hanging out with a friend than with someone just there to sell me glasses. I should add that nobody there works on commission so you don't have to worry about being pushed to spend more than you want to. I am rapidly approaching 40 and my eyes are starting to get a little fuzzy. Part of this is age and part of this an unconscious desire to not see all the bills that come across my desk. So I set my appointment and had a very positive experience. Dr. Dodge explained everything, in easy to understand terms, listened to my concerns and got the job done. The price was reasonable but the retina scan seemed a little pricey but it was better than having drops in my eyes. Soon after I spent some time trying on different frames and with the guidance of the ladies in the office found a pair that we all thought looked best. Part of the enjoyment was making Suzie and Victoria laugh as I made light of the situation. A week after receiving my glasses I noticed that one of the lenses wasn't properly secured in the frame. I do not believe this was an accident, I think that the ladies sabotaged my glasses so I would come back and tell more jokes. Either way, it is always a pleasant experience and I look forward to visiting with them again and I would recommend this office. read more
