They're a little pricey, but the frame selection and spectacular customer service is worth it.

I went to the Buffalo/Main St. location this week and while the actual exam was excellent and the…read moreeye doctor was fine, I take issue with health care staff who provide poor customer service. The front desk receptionist is abrupt on the phone and in-person. When the staff member was asking me for my personal health information as a new patient, she stood with her back to me typing into a computer, not making eye contact, never introduced herself, and never explained why she needed the information. When the other staff member was discussing pricing of glasses & contacts, he seemed quite put-off when I explained that the $500 Coach frames were not in my price range and did not offer any cheaper options. I don't mean to be petty but I just think they can do better in how they engage their customers. I don't think it's too much to ask for general politeness and warmth, especially because there are plenty of eye-care options out there. I will find another business to go to next time.

Service and product…read morewere fine, The optical assistant was helpful in guiding me to a low cost 2nd pair, which was a small amount above my insurance coverage. This year my scrip was for a bifocal. Because I was in a "big box" store that also had an optical department, I stopped in there with my scrip. To fill the whole scrip there would cost over $100 above my insurance. I couldn't afford that, so opted to get just the distance part. I figured I had plenty of readers at home. Two weeks later when I tried the new glasses, I was STUNNED by the clarity I now had of things 5 to 100 feet away. And when I got home and watched television, imagine my surprise to find all blondes didn't look alike. Happy with the improved distance vision I was. For a couple of weeks. Eventually switching back and forth between my readers and my distance glasses became irksome. At the store, I'd been told that I had 90 days to return or exchange my glasses. So I took my concerns to America's Best. The manager at America's Best understood my problem completely and, in considering different options, suggested I return my glasses to the original producer, then bring the scrip and one of the pairs I'd gotten at America's Best last year, and they would put the full scrip in those frames, saving the expense of frames, so that my insurance would cover the cost entirely. Yesterday, after determining that the credit to my insurance had been completed, I took the scrip and a pair of my reading glasses from 2023 to AB. Both the optical assistant and the manager helped me get all sorted out AND with a little further effort, the optical assistant found that I could get a Transitions lens for an additional cost of only $19. I was delighted. I'll be able to pick up my new glasses within two weeks. Not only will the TCM movies be sharper, I also won't have to switch between regular and sunglasses. Of course, a large part of this success story is due to my Medicare Advantage program. I know insurance varies considerably among insurers. But the bottom line here is how helpful the people at this America's Best have been.

The doctor is great just don't try to diagnosed yourself because then if you think you know what you have you will be refer to where you really want or need to be at instead of just doing a routine exam. Be careful with trying to get things done your own way here there is so many policies that needs to be follow that workers can't just break them because on the situation you are requieres it I would say again it is great place just be patient and if you aren't patient the pick somewhere else to go! If you know information that they might aren't aware of try to inform them of this not everybody know everything or maybe they know but can't remember at the time you come in.

However, I could not find the store hours on the site and had to go to Google Maps to find when open. It makes one wonder why a store owner would not advertise the hours but ok. There is ABSOLTUELY nothing on the site that says you need to book an appointment to just look at frames. My mistakes was presuming the appointments were for vision exams, not to walk in the door! After a few up and downs on Elmwood, I found a place to park in all the snow and cold. Walked in the door and the first things is "Do you have an appointment". No, didn't realize I need one.......I wanted to say, gee thanks for the poor information on the website and left. I was so miffed. Obviously ,this business does not care about new customers first impressions. I think they carry a nice selection of frames, not sure yet if I schedule an appointment or not, still upset. Thanks so much.

As soon as I walked in the elderly lady working told me the store was by appointment only which not sure every by appointment store, I've ever been to before clearly states that on the door... anyway. She went on to tell me that she was going to let me "look around " as if she was doing me a favor. When I grabbed the sunglasses I was looking to purchase she nearly ran over to me and ripped them out of my hand. She goes on to tell me "sorry these are licensed sunglasses and you can't do that" as I was taking a picture of them to send my boyfriend who was outside with our dog... she ran over and started literally walking me out of the store & handed me her business card ?? long story short I found the sunglasses on a website brand new, half off the price she had them there & ordered them 5 minutes after leaving the store. I own a business myself and this is absolutely not how you treat someone.
