I've been getting my glasses at Visualeyes for quite a long time now. When they got an ophthalmologist, I started getting my eye exams there as well. And I even get my contact lenses there. I'm not absolutely certain how I started going there, perhaps convenience, but when I started to need help with reading there is where I went. After so many years the service has never once wavered. If I was dealing with Dave and learning about contact lenses, he was patient and helped me every step of the way until I found the ones that worked best for me. Dan is the consummate professional, and never forgets names, faces or to ask how the rest of the family are doing. Dawn is my personal fashion and design assistant. She knows what works for me and what my style esthetic is. But she also will pull things that are out of the box that I will love but may not have noticed on my own. And what's so important is that she knows what I don't like on my face, anything that's too small. She's honest enough to tell me when I try a frame that I like but it's not the right size for my face, rather than letting me buy something that reflects badly on me and then on the business as well, she will tell me "that's to small of a frame" and I am very grateful regardless of how much I may like the frame. Been a customer for as long as I can remember. Until the other day. I had ordered contacts over a month and a half ago. Not the fault of Visualeyes, but they were on back order. No big deal. The contacts came in while I was out of town and I called to pay for them so I could have someone else pick them up while I was gone. Was told my final cost and I was told it included a $25 fitting fee. I had advised I've never been in for a fitting, and to please remove the fee. I was told no, I had to have been in, because that's what the computer says. I asked the date and was told it was May 8th. I cross referenced my work schedule and I was in meetings all day, not a chance I was in on that day. But that's what the computer said. I had advised that I diiiiiiid talk with Dave on the phone and we had discussed me coming in, but I never did. The girl then said it was to pay for his time talking to me on the phone. Wait...what? I have to pay now to talk with him? Sensing I was getting a bit annoyed, I was transferred to Dave to clarify. Dave could not have been more rude, curt, or abrasive. He begrudgingly agreed to drop the ever important $25 fee, which I appreciated since I never saw him. He hung up and I called back to pay balance. I received invoice via email and they had still charged me the full amount. I noticed on the invoice two different types of contacts. So I called back in again to inquire, the girl transferred me back to Dave to clarify. Dave answered with an absolute attitude, like I was bothering him. I asked him about the contacts and he acted like I was supposed to be the eye professional here and was completely rude once again. I didn't make a big deal over the $25 fee as it's the last $25 I and my family will be spending there. read more

I am so happy that I finally figured out my password to YELP so I can post a review about Visualeyes. My experience at Visualeyes about a month or so ago was nothing short of spectacular. I called ahead to make sure they carried the brand that I was looking for and, you guessed it, they had a large selection of Robert Marc. Upon entry I was greeted with a smile, a very helpful sales associate, and a bottle of water. What really set Visualeyes apart from my previous eyeglass provider was the attention to detail and the methods used to find the perfect frame for my facial structure. I can't speak more highly of Visualeyes and I will be returning in the near future for eyeglasses to complete my fall/winter outfit collection for 2017. I went in to try on some frames since I've never worn glasses before and I just had an eye exam and needed a mild prescription. I went to Visualeyes because my mom wears Olivers Peoples glasses and likes them a lot, and they were the only store in Buffalo that carried them. A customer service rep came up and asked if I needed help and I said no. My husband was taking pictures of me in each frame so that I could think about which one would fit me best before I spent hundreds of dollars on new glasses. A woman then came up to us and said very rudely, "do not take pictures of the glasses so that you can find them at a cheaper rate online." This was extremely offensive and embarrassed me, so I left right away, and as I was walking out she yelled out from her desk to have a good day. I don't think I will ever go back to that store. I had my eyes examined, and after words looked for frames. After realizing the frames there are extremely over priced, I decided to ask for my prescription, so I could purchase my glasses else where. The staff refused, and became rude. I left. I then realized I could not order glasses else where without my prescription, and my insurance wouldn't pay for another examination, I was stuck, and returned to purchase a new pair. I was told they would be ready in a few days, they were not. Two weeks later I finally received my new glasses. I will not be back. read more

When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted politely by the front desk staff. Shortly after, Dave Leberer, the owner and contact lens specialist, came out to greet me and welcome me to the office. A few moments later, Dr. Ian Leberer (Dave's son) took me back for my eye exam. Dr. Leberer was very professional and helpful throughout the exam. He helped explain different elements of how the eye works, and made sure to address any questions I had. Afterward, I met with Dave, who helped me with my contacts. Dave is super knowledgable about contacts. From years of experience he has a wealth of information to share. He gave me a range of options, and didn't make me feel like I was forced to choose any particular type of lens. He also provided samples of contact solution which was very appreciated! My experience at Visual Eyes was horrible. I had to ask for assistance with shopping for frames and was misinformed when I asked specifics on the fit of my prescription to a larger frame, so I ordered what they told me would be a great fit. Once they were ready I went to try them out and could not see clearly or read using the glasses. Although I had to re-order to a $ 60.00 LESS expensive frame, they did NOT refund my $ 60.00. The woman working with me treated me as if I was a huge bother to her and it was a terrible inconvenience to have to fix the problem. After spending over $ 600.00 on new frames (not designer frames) and blended bi-focal lenses, the new glasses I have are the worst pair of glasses I have ever had, and I have worn glasses for over 50 years!. This pair of $ 600.00+ glasses are plain, flimsy plastic that lose shape easily. The lenses were not cut properly, I had to take them to 2 other places to find out what the problem is..I have been told that the measurements of the lenses are off, causing me a problem with distance vision and a slight blur. I do NOT recommend them on any level, customer service was terrible and the quality of the glasses is a #1 out of 10. read more

I went here a long time ago but the experience soured me from ever going back. My wife's flex plan at the time required her name be on the receipt, after picking out frames I asked for this caveat. The owner went into a tirade about how this was insurance fraud, making me feel like I was some low life trying to cheat the system. The thing was that it wasn't even insurance, it was a flex plan, money she put in. See they opened up on Elmwood trying to capitalize on this area. Not receiving the dedication and proper fitment required, I decided to give them a shot since I found their office in my local area and with other positive reviews. Well let me say, I was beyond impressed with the time, efforts, and continual follow-up I received. It is exceedingly rare to find the type of dedication and service they offer; especially these days in the "revolving door" stigma of patient care so often found. Even after relocating away from the area, if I needed Dave's help, I wouldn't hesitate to travel just to deal with them as opposed to the saturated medical market I have thus moved to. If you need speciality care for lens fitment, hard to treat cases, world class dedication, passion, and compassion for your eyes, then you definately have found the right place. Contacts are fairly priced, and they really work with you to make sure you have the best, most comfortable lenses possible. I've been a customer for many years and in my opinion they're the best around. I'd like to share a little story. I'm a Buffalo school teacher and one year my glasses were stolen by a disgruntled student. (I had left them on a desk to go to the back of the room to help a student on a computer.) I didn't really have the money to replace them immediately, but VISUALEYES replaced them anyway and even provided me with a little accessory that allowed me to keep my glasses "on my person." I did pay them, of course, but they couldn't have been nicer. I know that there are probably places where people can get less expensive glasses, but there aren't many places that treat their customers not only as people, but as friends. I usually wear disposable contacs instead of glasses and I often get to the last pair before I think to reorder. It's never "a problem" when I call. You might be more organized than I, but I still think the staff at Visualeyes will find ways to impress you and turn you into a lifetime customer, if you give them a chance. read more
