Reviewing both the Mosaic Warby Parker location and their eye exam office next door-…read more Like all of my experiences at Warby Parker locations up and down the East Coast (mostly in NYC and DC proper), my experience in Mosaic renewing my prescription and ordering new glasses was extremely positive. Started next door at FOCUS, which I believe is independent yet connected to Warby. This is a very small office with one exam room, but everything is extremely clean, orderly, and pleasant. Both the person at reception and the eye doctor were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a quick but thorough exam in which the doctor listened to and addressed all of my concerns. I have a strong family history of glaucoma, and he put extra effort into assessing my risk. After the exam was finished, the doctor escorted me over to the Warby Parker retail location next door. I assume that you don't have to use your prescription at WP if you'd rather go somewhere else, but why would you? WP's prices are fair, their frames are durable and stylish, and their staff is extremely helpful. The woman who helped me with my exam (her name started with an H but that's all I remember, sorry!) was also extremely helpful and quickly pulled up my records in the system. Though I was worried for a moment that the frames I have been wearing for 5+ years might be retired, they luckily weren't, and she was able to quickly place an order for my new lenses in a new pair of glasses. WP now offers blue light filters on their regular lenses and I can't wait to not have a severe headache after looking at the computer screen every day. Next up was my sunglasses. WP actually DID retire my sunglass frames, but the employee helped me with suggestions of similar pairs and gave me helpful advice when I tried them on. She also didn't bat and eye when I took some extra time to send selfies in the new lenses to my wife to get her opinion. I wound up picking one of the pairs the employee selected, and they look great! Overall, I highly recommend the Mosaic Warby Parker. All their employees are helpful and friendly, and their products are great. I only wish they directly took my insurance, but they gave me an itemized receipt to submit my claim. I look forward to ordering the same exact frames for as long as humanely possible, 5/5 stars please keep Burke in Tennessee Whiskey in stock forever!

They are relatively inexpensive as well for their products compared to other places I have shopped in the past (ex. Lenscrafters). Once you find a pair that you like and you're able to provide your prescription, your glasses will be shipped to your house within 7-10 business days. Very bizarre experience with this shady practice. I purchased a new pair of Oakley glasses frames…read moreonline and dropped them off at Modern Optometry to have lens created and inserted into the frames. I paid over $300 for this process. Two weeks later, I received a phone call informing me that their lab BROKE the glasses frames. I asked how to remedy the situation and was informed that they were not responsible for the broken frames because I signed a waiver. Huh? So, essentially, I was out of luck and out of a new pair of beautiful glasses frames. The sales person (Amanda?) said she would email pictures of the broken frames. Two weeks went by and still no pictures. I called again and spoke to this sales person, and she informed me (in a very awkward manner) that she received "undeliverable" messages from my email address (which I've had for over 10 years.) So, I asked her to email the pictures to my work email address...and to this day, still NO pictures. She ended up refunding me the $300 for lens insertion. However, I am out a pair of new glasses frames without any real proof they were broken. What happened to my glasses frames? Did they lose them? Did somebody steal them? Totally unacceptable, and very shady business practices. I would not recommend this store.

The cost for me is not too much different from chain stores, as I have a complex prescription. I am happy to spend a bit more to get the correct fitting for progressives. My current glasses are the thinnest lenses I have had in a long time despite my high index prescription. They use Hoya lenses which are superior to the ones I have gotten from LC. Marie has been very personable and professional and always gets me a great pair of glasses. They usually have a sale going on ( buy 1 get 50% second pair). Great if you get glasses and sunglasses together.

They are friendly, welcoming, and honest, and the office I visited was the nicest optical shop I have ever seen, and I have been wearing eyeglasses for almost 50 years. Marie and Jimmie, by contrast, have a ton of experience, which is why I was so happy to find them. They are true professionals.

I struggled with the sunglasses because they were too large and would not stay in place. I returned to have them adjusted but was told it could not be done because they were so oversized for my head that adjusting/bending them to my size would change the position of the lens and they would be blurry. When I asked the manager why an employee would not have noticed and said something about the size problem during the fitting before I purchased them, her response was that it was up to the customer to determine the size and fit. Well dummy me knew they were too big during the fitting but I thought that was something they could adjust since the employee had actually helped me pick them out and didn't say boo about anything. But these were so loose that they could not be fixed by any amount of adjusting. Yes, I was past my 30 day window for returns but since the employee who fitted my glasses didn't bother to mention there would likely be a problem (isn't that part of their job?) I really felt the manager might have tried to find a reasonable solution that worked for both of us. I now own a pair of prescription sunglasses that I paid more than $800 for and they are completely useless. So my family and I won't be giving them our business again. I doubt the manager cares but I hope this post helps people realize that perhaps some employees working there may not be trained well enough (or just don't care) for you to trust with your glasses purchase.
