If you follow my reviews you'd notice that I only focus on restaurants, until today. I rely on my glasses for everything. The first thing I do is put them on and the last thing of the day I do is take them off. Well, this morning I sat on my glasses as I was getting dressed for work... not a great start. I went to this store as I had bought my glasses there about 15 months ago. I just wanted my glasses fixed and I would have been happy to pay for the service of fixing the frame. As soon as I came in, I was warmly greeted; when I explained what happened they took my glasses and asked me to either wait or come back in 20 minutes. My Armani frame and glasses were perfectly fixed and cleaned as if I had bought a new pair. I kindly asked how much I owed as the offered a great service. To my surprise, the gentleman that helped me said: free, this is part of the services we provide for the business of having bought the glasses there. I was so socked and thankful. I will continue to buy frames and glasses at this location of LensCrafters. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the quick and friendly service at Lens Crafters of Fair Oaks Mall, and how easy it was to use my EyeMed insurance there. They also have good hours, being open 7 days a week and some evenings until 9 pm. I didn't have to wait at all to be helped. I do suggest being very clear about what you want - I wanted progressives that get dark in the sun, and I guess I didn't make that clear because the ones that were initially on order for me did not have that feature. I realized the next day that I hadn't been asked about the tint, etc., so I called back and was able to catch the order before it was filled. However, I did need to go back in because they don't take payment over the phone, and the transition lenses costs extra. I also received computer glasses instead of the book-reading glasses I intended to order, but I wound up liking those, so I kept them. My husband bought some of their ready-made readers, and after wearing them for a day, he found they were too tight- they adjusted them at no charge and with no wait. My prescription glasses came in sooner than expected - the readers in about 2 days and the progressives in one week. Ultimately, I was pleased with the quality of the glasses I received, and I would go back. read more

Woman with a missing screw had a day for sure. While waiting to see Heather, a woman came in with a pair of glasses that had one screw missing. Heather was so kind even though this woman skipped past myself and another customer. She spoke to me to check in then went over to try to sort out an impatient person. She shared would would gladly sort through all the screws available but it would have to be a few hours from the time of the customer's request because this place is a busy place. The woman seemed uninterested in waiting. Heather remained calm and supportive, explaining the difficulties of fitting in a search like this needed and how others were in line. The woman left yet Heather and her team kept smiling and gracefully helped the next customers. My service has always been amazing here. Please do not believe the 4.9 google reviews, I suspect they remove all their negative reviews because this is a real firsthand experience I just had with their staff Roland and store manager Heather, and I stand by it. **Review on Fair Oaks mall, Virginia, LensCrafters location** This has honestly been the most unprofessional eyeglass purchase experience I've ever had out of all the opticians I have ever been to. The manager (Heather) was rude and condescending, unhelpful and did not follow through on their word to replace lens and frames that I purchased from them. Not only that, but Roland (an optician) was also unprofessional in making rude and highly inappropriate comments about my appearance and to my friend that made us both extremely uncomfortable. He told me "I was wrong" to my face after I made a friendly suggestion to him to adjust my frame a certain way. If you're going to act offended when a customer gives you a suggestion about how THEIR frames feel on THEIR face you should not even be doing your job. I will be telling everyone I know not to go to this location, as there is absolutely NO excuse or reason for the management and staff to be this unprofessional and childish. It is run like a circus show. Not once did they genuinely apologize for the 3 remakes I had to have done due to THEIR mistakes in messing up and giving me the wrong prescription. Not overly impressed. The selection was ok... it looks like there are way more glasses than there really are but they are duplicates of the same pair. The woman who helped us was pleasant. The biggest issue is that everything is extremely overpriced. My son's half price glasses were $300. His last pair were under $100 from Walmart and had a better warranty. If he hasn't broken them and I had more time I would have gone back there again but I guess I'm paying for the one hour service that was actually two hours. NEW REVIEW: Came back for coating on my glasses issue. It is such a shame that after just a year, the coating is obviously disintegrating and evidently a quality issue. Paid top dollar for the top of the line lens and frame and all they could tell me is to replace the lens for another $400+ and that is with insurance coverage!! I recently had cataract surgery. I needed to have one of the lenses and my glasses changed to a clear lens. I went in and they did it immediately without charge. They are wonderful. Quick efficient service at the eye exam doctors office. The ladies where friendly and I was able to sanded day appointment with no problem. Highly recommend this location. The merchandise area however, some what lacks in customer service. I was told glasses should be done within an hour or less and I confirmed if they had my correct phone number updated, they said yes. About an hour and half has gone by. Still no call or txt. Don't promise what you can't deliver. Also, I didn't appreciate that the lady at the merchandise side tried to argue with me regarding insurance, after a back and forth argument I'm glad the assistant manager intervened & took over and the transaction was handled & resolved. Mr. Abiy is the best eyewear consultant at LensCrafters in Fair Oaks mall. He is very gentle, professional and goes extra mile to make sure that his client is happy with the work done. I took my mom's glasses to fix (bought from a different place). Mr. Abiy came upfront and offered help. I explained to him and even I told him that I'm ready to pay for the repair. He gently showed me a place to sit and wait. I was there for 10 minutes. He fixed the glasses and he knows his job and does it right! Mr. Abiy deserves 5 stars! I returned a pair of glasses to this location this morning. I was asked if I wanted to look around for another pair and I didn't at that time. My return was then processed courteously, even cheerfully with no hassle whatsoever. This is great customer service and I am a customer for life. I should say that I returned glasses at LensCrafters in Florida and was repeatedly pressured to keep them and/or purchase a replacement. Now less than one year , we see some white point on lensesand they said you have to pay again but it was company Qualität was very poor and it has this defects , I donot recommend this company. I would give them zero stars if I could. My daughter purchased single vision lens RayBan sunglasses- you would think that this would be an easy prescription to fill. When we got the sunglasses, my daughters vision was blurry. We took the glasses to the eye doctor and found out that the ocular height was wrong, so LensCrafters sent it back to RayBan to remake the lens. We picked up the glasses today and had the same issue. My daughter wants to give RayBan one more try to get it right, but it obvious that they have subpar quality control measure. You would think that a company like LensCrafters wouldn't use RayBan to make lens if they don't know what they are doing read more

My Lenscrafters experience started out rocky. I came in one evening and saw some Prada frames that I liked, sorta. I asked Miriam to hold them, and she did. I came back 3 days later, did an eye appointment (you REALLY should schedule an appointment. You'll get no sympathy from me if you walk-in and wait). I came back and the place was a mad house. Well, that's my fault. Saturday before Xmas. Anyhoo, I met with Miriam and had the glasses made. I tried them on and I wasn't really sure about them. She assured me they looked good. An hour and a half later, I picked them up. I still wasn't sure about them. But there was one pair that was similar, but smaller. I wanted that pair. I asked if they had them. They didn't. I asked if they could get them from another store. Miriam told me that she couldn't check. Figuring I did need glasses and these were KINDA what I wanted, I got them. I held on to them for a few days, posing in different outfits and with different hairstyles. Still not in love. Meh. So I came back to LensCrafters to return the glasses. Miriam was there and I said, "I'm back. I really didn't like the glasses as much as I'd hoped to." She dryly said, "That's fine, Tierra" and walked away. Oh. Ok. So then I dealt with Jill. OMG, Jill is the bestest! Not only did she return my glasses with no fuss, she found me the Prada frames I wanted AND they were on sale AND they were even better than the ones I originally wanted. I was welcomed when I first entered the shop, and the man told me that he would help me as I made my decision, but he pretty much ignored me after that and jumped to other customers. The two sales people after that were good-one helped me with frames, and the other helped with the purchase while I was waiting for the first guy to come back and help. I selected a nice pair of glasses, and while I was told by the first guy that I could get it in one hour, the second person asked the on-site technician if he could, and I ended up getting it the next day. This is still a better option than the typical 10 days or 2 weeks at the Target optical and Pearle Vision. I'm so pleased with my glasses. They are a bit tight now, but I believe they will loosen up. I hope Lens Crafters trains all their staff in the stores to be helpful to customers. Staff seem to pick and choose who to cater to. read more

My prescription changed a bit, so I needed to get my (old) glasses brought up to speed. After waiting for five minutes to actually talk to someone, an employee finally came up to me. I explained my situation and he said it could be done. We go to the computer and he starts typing in stuff. He tells me the cost would be $300 dollars. Remember now, I have my frames in hand already. I just needed the lenses adjusted. $300. For JUST lenses? I grabbed my glasses, prescription paper and walked out. I proceed to Costco and talk to the guy there. Lenses are TOTAL $50 and they are the same as what LensCrafters would have put in. It will take about a week to get them back, but I can live with that. Now, of course, I understand Costco gets, probably, slightly better pricing for buying wholesale, but a $250 difference? Get outta here. Pound sand LensCrafters.. I won't be returning. read more

This review is based on phone conversation trying to find out information. I can tell you they have plenty of people answering the phone. I called for two simple questions: 1. Do you take VSP (answer: no, out of network) 2. How much is for eye exam if out of network and how much it cost without any vision plan? I kept being on hold by 5 different people who answered the phone. I guess because the first etc person put me on hold and other thought I'm not being help? Waited and waited the first and second person never got back to me. Finally the fifth person answered (which i sound annoyed and said "for the fith time im being on hold) and said you have to come in and we will call your vision plan to find out, otherwise it is $89. Let me tell you by the fifth person, i wish i had recorded my questions ;-) All that just being on hold total 11 minutes. Woot! read more

While I don't go here for my eye exams (I have a wonderful dr elsewhere), I do go here for my frames, adjustments, lenses etc. They are always efficient and prompt with their service, even when they are slammed on the weekends. They have a great selection of frames and a very quick turnaround for glasses or if you need lenses replaced in your old frames. My 4 star is due to the fact that you are definitely paying for this turnaround. You will find cheaper prices in places where you wait a week minimum, so if that's what you're looking for LensCrafters may not be the answer. But if you're looking for a great selection of frames, kind and competent employees, and a fast turnaround, I definitely recommend this location. The overall low rating surprised me as a customer who's been going here for several years. read more

Warby Parker here I come... All good with the eye exam and ordering. Glasses came days earlier than expected. They were putting new lens in my existing frames -- $500 AFTER insurance $200+ from insurance. Picked them up and the technician put a couple of pieces of paper in front of me for two seconds to check far and near vision. No detailed questions and then said I was good to go. I asked about fitting the frame and she said, come back if it bothers you (I had already told them they were loose). I asked about a case and she handed me a soft pouch and said here you go.... At the moment (and the store was not busy) I was too shocked to complain. Never again. read more

I needed new trifocals FAST because I was going to my 50 year class reunion and my current pair were old, very scratched up and I needed a prescription change. Well, I waited too long to get my eye exam so I had less than a week to get the new ones made. I went to LensCrafters because they make the lenses right there and I could get them in days instead of weeks. As soon as I explained my predicament to Mariam (don't know her last name) she was very understanding. Also, I have always used regular trifocals but I now wanted to try the progressive kind; i.e. with no lines. Well, the only blank they had to work with was one LEFT eye. So Mariam called around to different LensCrafters stores and amazingly found one with a single RIGHT eye lens of the same type! And then, instead of waiting for it to be sent to her, knowing my time crunch, she drove out there and picked it up herself! So I had my new specs in time to avoid embarrassment with people I hadn't seen in decades. Talk about going the extra mile! Now I have a somewhat excessive and outgoing sense of humor. But Mariam and her manager Arcenio Bonilla took to my banter like we were old friends. It made every interaction with them a real joy and fun. Oh, I also met Jill Nguyen there, who was just as nice and lighthearted as Mariam & Arcenio, although I didn't talk as much with her. Now for the cherry on top. When I returned from Detroit, where the reunion was held, I realized that progressive lens were not for me. Upon returning to the store, Mariam said "No problem. We'll just make a new pair of the type I was used to." lines and all. And, since these were less expensive than the progressive kind, I even got a $80 refund, without asking! I noticed that the poor reviews are the older ones, going back to 2009. All I can say is there must have been some "not so valuable" employees back then because the staff they have now is great. read more

I bought new glasses here today. I went in because my regular eyeglass place didn't have any frames I wanted and LC is in network for me on Eyemed. Selection: from mid range to expensive. Women's frames ranging from $120 to $500 and up. Large selection of styles. I selected frames with a top rim but not a bottom but also tried on lots of thicker frames and one or two styles of frameless. Service: I was approached by three employees and offered assistance by each. I said I wanted to browse and they left me be. I was then able to find help when I was ready. I felt helped and respected by each employee who served me today. My glasses were ready and 100% correct in an hour. My benefit and the cost were explained up front and there were no surprises. We didn't have near the experience that others had - I'm wondering if we went to the same location? My mother had went to the Lens Crafters in Manassas twice to get her glasses adjusted and it was a disjointed and disorganized affair, and the staff were asking my mom on the adjusting of her glasses. We happened to be near this location and were immediately impressed by their organization - my mom was quickly greeted, asked about what she needed and seated for the next available technician who was available momentarily and was able to quickly and precisely adjust the glasses. A complete 180 from the Manassas location that, unbelievably to me, has a higher rating on Yelp than this location - that's what prompted me to write this review. read more

If I could give them negative infinity, I would. They skipped over my name on accident, then shoved me through in less than 5 min. I had to go back twice to get my prescription correct. The dr. gave me a stronger prescription, saying it would help me, but all that did was give me headaches. They also told me to rub my contacts, but gave me no rub solution. That doesn't make any sense! Then, they overcharged me and it has been two mos., and I still haven't gotten my reimbursement. I'm going to have to report them to my credit card company now. What saved this particular lenscrafters from a 1 star?? an absolutely kind gentleman tha works there by the last name of byronski (spelling absolutely butchered)...but basically my friend and I went in to try on glasses and see if there were any pairs we liked...for the first 30 minutes we were ignored and not even acknowledged. A particular gentleman in fact went out of his way to avoid us (or that's what we felt like) and I was getting so frustrated i knew I just wanted to leave. However, this kind gentleman came to us after he had finished with another patient and my firend told him about his predictament (his head is wide so it's difficult to find nice glasses that fit him...life sucks for him=P) and this gentleman literally went into the plethora of glasses, picked out ONE and it fit like a CHARM! a pair of gorgeous zegna glasses and he was SO pro at his job. He went over our insurances and took the time out of his schedule even though we had told him that we were going to have to come back tomorrow due to schedule conflicts....if this gentleman was not there, this place would've been a one star! I'm surprised by all the poor reviews here of this place. Granted, I already had a prescription for my eyes and didn't need to visit the optometrist, and the visit to the optometrist associated with this location seems to be the source of a lot of gripes. But my experience with the store itself was nothing but pleasant. I went in on a Saturday afternoon, so unsurprisingly, the staff were all busy assisting other customers. It would be silly to complain about the fact that this location is busy, especially since it is located in a mall- do people really expect any store in the mall on a Saturday afternoon to be completely devoid of any customers? Still, a staff member came up to me after just a few minutes to let me know that my turn would be next as soon as I had made my selection. They have an enormous selection of frames to choose from. I was looking for prescription sunglasses and was thrilled with the many options I had, as well as the great deal they had going- buy frames, get your lenses 50% off. I feel like I got a great deal on these sunglasses, though without the discount they would be very pricey. Still, considering that the glasses are ready in just an hour, that's a pretty competitive rate compared to a lot of eyewear places which take up to a week to get your new glasses in. I was helped by a very cheerful and funny older woman who was still being trained on how to navigate the computer system, so my consultation probably took longer than it would have taken otherwise, but I don't have any complaints. She was so lovely and even apologized that it was taking so long and thanked me for my patience. My glasses were ready an hour later as promised. All in all, I'm very pleased with my experience and wish more people had good things to say about this place. read more
