This place is poorly run. Show up at 8:00 AM for an appointment and you're ignored until at least 8:15 while staff ease into their morning. No acknowledgment, no communication, no urgency. Between the delays and the lack of basic customer service, it's clear this operation isn't managed well. Plenty of other options out there -- I'd recommend going elsewhere.

From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. The email notifications could use some improvement--the scheduling link in the email went to the wrong system--but the scheduling link on the website worked perfectly fine. I didn't buy new frames this time since my prescription didn't change and I'm still happy with my current pair. They do have a wide selection of frames, and while many lean toward the expensive side, the quality looks good and there are plenty of nice options to choose from. Overall, a positive experience and I'll continue coming back.

I booked an appointment with See and Co. and met with Dr. Emily and her kind and attentive staff. Dr. Emily inspected my eyes and conducted a series of vision tests with me which entailed reading various letters on a screen in various sizes and clarity. In the end, she confirmed that not much had changed if at all. However, she recommended that I choose a slightly lighter prescription in one of my lenses in order to reduce the effects of stigmatism which resulted in less dizziness while wearing glasses. I like the fact that she was very detailed and tried to recommend the best solution that suited me. I was in good hands. In addition to the personalized service, See and Co. offers very high quality name brand frames. I tried some of them on until we found the right one, an aviator-type with metal frame. And due to Covid, there was a system for sampling the frames. After each sampling, the frames were placed in a basket and ready to be sanitized before being touched by the next person. In addition to that, all of the staff was wearing masks. I felt safe knowing their Covid procedures were in effect. Moving on.. my frames were made onsite so I got them sooner rather than later! I'm very happy with the quality of the lens which were made to block both UV and blue light. It's very unique in that it somehow makes everything look a little brighter and a little more pleasant.. even on darker rainy days. I'm not sure what causes that, but it's awesome. My frames also came with a magnetic attachment which enables it to double as sunglasses. You just place the shades on the front of the frames and it stays.. very convenient. Overall, I highly recommend See and Co. and Dr. Emily. Had an awesome experience here.

Very bizarre experience with this shady practice. I purchased a new pair of Oakley glasses frames…read moreonline and dropped them off at Modern Optometry to have lens created and inserted into the frames. I paid over $300 for this process. Two weeks later, I received a phone call informing me that their lab BROKE the glasses frames. I asked how to remedy the situation and was informed that they were not responsible for the broken frames because I signed a waiver. Huh? So, essentially, I was out of luck and out of a new pair of beautiful glasses frames. The sales person (Amanda?) said she would email pictures of the broken frames. Two weeks went by and still no pictures. I called again and spoke to this sales person, and she informed me (in a very awkward manner) that she received "undeliverable" messages from my email address (which I've had for over 10 years.) So, I asked her to email the pictures to my work email address...and to this day, still NO pictures. She ended up refunding me the $300 for lens insertion. However, I am out a pair of new glasses frames without any real proof they were broken. What happened to my glasses frames? Did they lose them? Did somebody steal them? He took his time to examine my eyes and did some exams that other doctors had never done (such as taking a picture of the inside of my retina to see the back of the eye and its nerve, for example). It also had been super easy to get an appointment quickly as a new patient. The office staff is super helpful and very friendly. The optician was helpful with showing me all the different glasses they have in their shop, and none of the staff members were pushy about me having to buy the glasses there. They have a big selection of different styles. If you can't find what you're looking for, they offer to look things up for you or they give you the prescription so you can buy the glasses and/or contacts somewhere else. Great doctor, great office! So happy I have found them.

The first sketchy element is that the link my wife kept sending me kept taking me to a google search with an alternate name. It appears that they do business under two different names which is kind of shady. But the big problem is that when you try to schedule an appointment on their website, it asks you to choose three different times. This is really bad because in this area many people have jobs and families and you can't just bank on some random time MAYBE being available. So I tried to call in the morning and nobody answered. I tried to call again in the afternoon after I made the appointment and again nobody answered. This was for an appointment the next day. I got two auto-texts saying "sorry we missed your call" so I replied to the texts saying I have a job and four kids and I can't be left hanging on these appointments, and this is a bad first impression after my wife recommended this place. I get a call back FIVE minutes after that text from a someone sounding like a sorority chick who just got dumped by her boyfriend. Huge attitude immediately. She's like "Those are just APPOINTMENT REQUESTS, SIR! We have ONE appointment at 7:45am tomorrow." Okay, well the appointments I thought I signed up for were 2:15, 2:30, and 2:45. So I calmly asked why the website listed 12 appointments for tomorrow and 18 for the next day if none of those were really available. And she just kept replying to everything I said by getting increasingly loud and obnoxious so I finally said, "well I guess I will go to another practice then," and before I could even say thanks and bye, she hung up on me. After this conversation, a lot of stuff is even weirder as I think about it. If the appointments are "just requests," then why were there "no requests" listed today, "12 requests" tomorrow, and "18 requests" the next day? That's totally nonsensical because if nothing is guaranteed then why list ANY times that are definitely not available??? And if you're going to list some times, why not list them all? Still the worst is just the rudeness. If your instant response to someone texting that you made a bad first impression but TRYING TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION BY SETTING A FIRM APPOINTMENT is to call them back in a haughty tone, then perhaps you should not be employed in customer service. Or, maybe the front desk person was out today and I was called by a doctor. But that just makes things even worse. Went for an eye exam. Was told that I could pay $39 extra for an exam that wasn't covered by…read moreinsurance. If I didn't pay for it, "...then we might have to dilate your eyes..." to continue the exam. I didn't appreciate the implication that I "might" require my eyes to be dilated...but that if I paid an extra $39 then I wouldn't. Doubt I'll be going back there. And it's unfortunate because I've been going there for years without this exam. Anything to make more money I guess.
