I…read morehad purchased them at a different NVDO location but after about a dozen trips to that location to get adjustments done, I decided to try the Reston office instead. Brian listened to me as I explained my ordeal. Every time I thought the glasses were adjusted okay at the original shop, after wearing them I had issues with the nose pieces, the ear pieces, and the non-horizontal fit (sitting crooked on my face). Brian fixed everything. I've been wearing the new glasses and they fit great. Brian is a fantastic optician, in my opinion he's worth a million gold stars. Thank you Mr. Quinn!

Decided to give it a try because everyone has different experiences. Overall, I would say that my family had a great experience with our eye exams, very thorough and efficient. I would rate the doctor as 5 star. The front desk people are not great and maybe I just also had bad luck with them. Our first time as a family here and found that I had to make call multiple times to get a call back, they do not respond to text message (though they direct you to use text) and seemed unfamiliar with insurance/unwilling to figure it out. Therefore, it was fine overall - we got what we needed in the end, but will probably would not go back.

From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. If you value your vision and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

There was a small issue with syncing my previous exam records, so they had to contact support to get it resolved, but they kept me informed and handled it professionally. The email notifications could use some improvement--the scheduling link in the email went to the wrong system--but the scheduling link on the website worked perfectly fine. I didn't buy new frames this time since my prescription didn't change and I'm still happy with my current pair. They do have a wide selection of frames, and while many lean toward the expensive side, the quality looks good and there are plenty of nice options to choose from. Overall, a positive experience and I'll continue coming back.

This is the opposite when it comes to Dr. Ly. It's so easy to make an appt online and the doctor sees you on time. Dr. Ly explains everything that she is doing and what each machine does during the eye exam. She is also keeps up to date with new types of eye wear such as blue-lens glasses and transition contacts; and will recommend the type of eye wear needed for your daily activities.

He took his time to examine my eyes and did some exams that other doctors had never done (such as taking a picture of the inside of my retina to see the back of the eye and its nerve, for example). It also had been super easy to get an appointment quickly as a new patient. The office staff is super helpful and very friendly. The optician was helpful with showing me all the different glasses they have in their shop, and none of the staff members were pushy about me having to buy the glasses there. They have a big selection of different styles. If you can't find what you're looking for, they offer to look things up for you or they give you the prescription so you can buy the glasses and/or contacts somewhere else. Great doctor, great office! So happy I have found them.

So of course I did my annual eye exam in 2019 with OptimEYES and received the same treatment I did the year before. Who knew an eye exam could be easy and flawless? I also needed new glass frames and Antonio swooped in and helped me pick out a pair that was stylish and comfortable. His patience and explanation of frames made the process stress-free. Ashburn is in great hands when it comes to eye care thanks to the people here. Keep an eye on them (pun intended)!

If you go here, the optometrist Dr. Jisoo Song and her exam, explanations and over-all interaction are A+. That is the only reason I'm giving this 3-stars. It deserves a 1-star for the second phase after the exam is over and they seat you in the lobby for the sales pitch to purchase wildly overpriced contacts and/or eyeglasses. I would compare it with sitting through a timeshare pitch or trying to talk to a used car salesman. They pull special rebates to help you save money (but only if you pay right then and there) and when I told them I wasn't going to purchase new contacts for $900 (after insurance and "speecial rebates") the manager said if I didn't put my card down to "hold" my contacts that day then I would have to pay for my exam which would be free if I purchased those contacts! I politely told him I wasn't buy anything that day and would happily pay for my exam and would like copies of my prescriptions, which seemed to irritate him and he said I would have to wait to receive my prescription. Avoid the sales pitch after your exam and get your prescription to order your glasses or contacts online. I was able to get the exact contacts they wanted me to pay $900+ out of pocket for a years supply for $400 online for a years supply. Same brand and everything. BEWARE THE POST EXAM SALES PITCH!

Took like 10 seconds to find the right pair and the insurance with additional savings made this trip better than I expected. Also, glasses will be ready in less than 2 weeks. I'm not use to that. I've been going to Dr Mojgan for years and decided to follow her to the new location when she opened her own practice. She has always been kind and attentive every time I saw her and made the whole process as easy as possible for me. Well, this time I decided to take my two boys there. They both needed new glasses, and they wanted to try contact lenses for the first time. Wow! She was so patient with them and encouraging even when one of them literally spent 2 hours trying to get his contacts in! I can't praise Dr Mojgan enough, and I recommend her for anyone looking for an eye care specialist.

It has become extremely difficult to schedule appointments with Dr. Hinkle or Dr. Boyle. After waiting weeks, we've arrived for appointments only to be told they were canceled without notice. Additionally, the front office staff is often rude and make simple questions feel like an inconvenience. The newer staff responsible for fitting glasses also do not seem to take the time to properly ensure a correct fit. This has been very disappointing given the level of care we experienced in the past. Unfortunately, today was the tipping point and we will not be back.
