I brought my son last year for an eye exam and to purchase glasses. It was a good experience. This year I scheduled an appointment for an eye exam for my son. We came 10 minutes late for the appointment. They refused to see us and asked me to reschedule. I said ok and scheduled my 2 sons for another date and was planning to schedule my daughter as well. Then I find out they charged me a $50 no-show fee for being 10 minutes late. I asked to speak with the manager for several days and she never reached out. Your company has gained $50, but lost 3 customers because of your bad customer service. read more

Overall, the reviews here have been highly polarized, but I got to say this place is really good and please allow me to address several things. First, Dr. Kao is great! I've had two prescriptions since 2019 with him, and they have been spot on! I could not be more happy with my corrected vision. No more eye strain and headaches. Crystal clear vision. Plus, he is very patient and helpful. Great job, Richard! As a note, if you have trouble scheduling with him and see that as a negative, then you should stop and think about it. If you want great service, you are going to have to be patient. So, be a patient...ha ha. Second, the opticians...they've all been great. They are very knowledgeable and efficient. Plus, they gladly offered me a 20% discount on all services because my insurance was no longer accepted (I'll cover that later). They were also true to their word about prescription delivery, as it took only about a week to get my glasses...see my other reviews about the long wait I had with another provider. This is in part because Loudoun Eye uses a different lens company compared to other places, including the other provider I recently tried. And I can definitely tell the difference, both in quality and response time! Next up, the front desk - excellent and very responsive! When I need anything, I just text them and they've always responded almost immediately. They are better at responding than my own friends! Back to the insurance...I have insurance, but Loudoun Eye no longer accepts it. So, if you want to hear about the experience I had with the new provider that did accept my insurance, see my other posts. But, lesson learned...despite what is ongoing with insurance and the health industry over the past 10 years or so, you still get what you pay for. And even though I pay more now than ever for everything - premiums and out-of-pocket expenses - and the prices have only gone up - you still have to pay a little more if you want good service. So, even though the medical providers aren't hurting, and the insurance companies are definitely making big bucks since they collect higher premiums and don't cover as much, it is REFRESHING to have a provider and business, like Loudoun Eye, that is high quality and willing to discount a little to help with the "new normal." As a note, in order keep my overall costs down, I went with a cheaper, but quality and nice-looking set of frames that I bought online (I knew they were good because I had them before). The opticians were happy to accept those to use with my new lenses. And after the provider discount and the out-of-network insurance reimbursement (not much but something), I paid just a little more for glasses that had the exact same features as the other provider I mentioned. Bottom line - Loudoun Eye, keep doing what you are doing! I'll GLADLY go out of network to get the kind of service I am getting with you! Please DO NOT sell out to you know who! And for those bad reviews, you may want to try some of these other new "volume" eye care providers before you start complaining. I suspect you'll be running back to the quality providers - that is if you don't bump into anything first! read more

This company is changing its name to My Eye Doctor but it is the Ashburn Village location. BEWARE! They exaggerate eye conditions. Their suggestions for eye care (such as costly daily contacts over cost effective monthly contacts) are geared for them to make the most money with no regard for patient needs. They refused to give me the contact Rx bc wasn't planning on buying contacts from them bc their prices are outrageous (which is against the law!) Dr. Kao is great but scheduling with him or anyone else is near impossible. Can't get through on the phone. Tried their text message option and I'm still waiting for a response... A WEEK LATER! We are current patients, but I'm not sure for how much longer. Also their COVID policy is stupid. You have to make an appointment to look at SUNGLASSES? There were 5 employees inside standing their talking to each other. Why didn't one of them leave the room so I could look and spend my money? I went to a competitor doctor office, in the same town, the same day. Walked in, no issues and dropped $350 for my new sunglasses. Extremely frustrating to say the least. read more

I have to say I'm really not impressed by the service of this place. People with children BEWARE!!! I have been going to this establishment for almost 3 years now. Their optometrist are nice and friendly but that is where it ends. The opticians and staff however carry an air of rudeness and seem to dislike children. They are helpful with making sure you utilize your insurance but they are not in the business of making you comfortable at ALL!! Before the pandemic, I had my yearly check and got my new glasses. I almost immediately noticed that my glasses seemed off. I thought I would give it a couple of weeks for me to adjust but then the pandemic hit. At this point, I was stuck with these glasses until we opened back up. When businesses were given the clear to open back up I made an appointment to recheck my glasses. Upon arrival to this office, they had a system set up to check people in. It seemed to be the same as most doctors office but they had everyone wash their hands, no problem. However, I was not allowed to bring my boys back to the examination room. I understand why that is but when it comes to young children sometimes leaving them unattended is not a good idea especially in a place with a lot of eye glasses to try on. I got my eyes reexamined and I'm told my left eye has gotten worse. What?! Um...how about just fix my prescription that was wrong to begin with and knock off trying to point blame. Anyway, I get my new prescription and now I'm lead to deal with the opticians, this is where I have the problem. The tension in the room was palpable. I have never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in this eye center. My boys were sitting patiently in the waiting chairs behaving very well for a six and ten year old. After feeling purposely ignored for about ten minutes my boys got bored and decided to look at some frames. My youngest touched one set of glasses when he was rudely snapped at by the optician on duty. She then grabs the pair he touched and stated that "now we have to clean theses!" This was my greeting from her! I completely understand the reasoning behind keeping a sterile environment in these uncertain times but the delivery of this message needs serious work. I let this go, finished up and left. I did leave feeling very uncertain of how I was treated and the services provided. Two weeks or so later my new lenses are ready. I make an appointment to have them put in my existing frames. The day of my appointment, I was running late due to a prior doctors appointment running long. I get there and their door is locked. Again, I understand the need to take this pandemic seriously but now this office is taking it to the extreme where its OVERKILL!! Their procedure of handling their appointments are seriously for their benefit only. Its almost like they are using this pandemic to be ugly to their patrons. I knock on the door and a lady answers. She seemed a bit snippy and asked if I had an appointment. From what I could see, only one person waiting and 4 other staff members and the lady answering the door. Before I could go in I was told that I will need to leave my children in the hallway because they can only have a certain amount of people at a time. REALLY?! (Note: we all were wearing N95 masks.) I stated I have a serious problem with this and I'm not about to leave my children unattended in a office building hallway for them to get into trouble or worse abducted. The lady had me wait outside, then the nicer of the two opticians came out. This was the most awkward and unprofessional service I have ever received from this establishment. Even the optician "helping" me seemed weirded out by the situation. I didn't have an opportunity to ask questions about my new lenses because I was too uncomfortable in this horrible predicament. I can't understand how this place has 5 stars? I was either duped by pasted reviews or something has really changed and not for the better. My experience was awful from the start. They called to confirm my 5 year olds appointment. We had new insurance so i asked if they could make sure everything was good. She told me she had 12 more ppl to confirm and didn't have time. Later they will check it and if there was an issue they would call back. We got there and the first girl was really nice. Dr.Park was awful. This was my sons first appointment and he was anxious and scared. He even told the Dr he was scared. Long story short he gave up on the exam. Recommended a more invasive eye exam with pediatrics instead of calming my sons fears. YET THEY SEE PEDIATRICS SO THEY SAY. I don't recommend him for kids in Kindergarten or below. I waited a few weeks for the appointment, & my son now has to see someone else. If you're going to see children KNOW HOW TO TREAT CHILDREN WHO ARE SCARED AND ANXIOUS. Canceling my appointment with them too. Will take my business elsewhere. read more

First time customer, bought a pair of single vision sunglasses with Hoya ID lenses. Zeshan was very helpful and thorough for my very specific requirements. Highly recommended! Didn't get prescription from them, the wait list is 2 months long. The only retailer carries Hoya lenses in the area. Hoya is a higher end brand than Essilor. They have better technologies. It's my first time to try Hoya lenses. They are comfortable. Hoya lab's workmanship is very good. However, they cannot make 1.74 lenses as I ordered, had to step back to 1.67 read more

Loudoun Eye Associates is a great optometry practice. Dr Park is knowledgeable and very nice, takes the time to explain the "why" of what's happening and his recommendations which I love. I have been going to optometrists for 40 years and he's the best (although I loved the Dr we had when I was in elementary school too). Our whole family goes here and he's good with the kids as well. Everyone in the office is super nice, patient, and helpful. From picking out to adjusting frames, giving samples of different contacts for my daughter when she first started wearing contacts to ensure we get the right ones before we order them, to working with insurance to make sure we get the most from our allowances, they always take the time to make sure everything is taken care of. They write everything down so you can understand what you're paying for vs the insurance so you can make informed decisions. We've been going to Loudoun Eye Associates for many years and have always received great customer service. With 4 family members needing various services over the course of the 8 years we've been with them, have there been hiccups? Of course: I've gotten appointment dates wrong and showed up on the wrong day, a shipment was delayed...but they are extremely competent, always working with us to address any issues with a smile, switching things around if possible, very customer focused. My daughter has been coming here regularly every year to see Dr Kao and we have been happy with the examination and advice. I saw the same Dr 3 weeks ago and was advised for glasses. I ordered for a pair of glasses after examination and was told that I would receive it in 2 weeks. I have been waiting since then, I don't get updates from the staff, they don't reply back to my calls/vm.... it's really frustrating. The staff ca definitely do a good job. So, I have the awesome luck to have eyes that without contacts or glasses, I'm legally blind. You know that eye chart that has the big "E" at the top and more letters that get smaller as you go further down the chart? Yeah, I can't even TELL its a chart. No joke. Therefore, finding a good eye doctor is critical for me. Loudoun Eye Associates is on the second floor of the Kaiser building in the Red Robin/Chipotle/Giant center off Ashburn Village Blvd and the Greenway. I came for a late appointment one day after work (and they also have Saturday appointments). The front office staff was super nice and friendly. I did all the normal tests, and then Dr. Park did his exam with me and even sent me back for an additional test just to check one more thing. He took the time to test 3 different brands of contacts during the appointment to make sure he got the fit right. I've been going to optometrists for 25 years, and have never had any doctor do this! Before I left, he took the time to go over the signs of a retinal detachment (the whole poor eyesight thing) and then Dr. Park scheduled me for a follow up appointment in a week just to check the contacts again. When my contacts came in, they were delivered to their office and they called me to ask if I wanted them to mailed to my house. How awesome is that? I didn't have to go pick them up! Dr. Park was great, the staff was nice, parking was easy, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. The only thing I would ding them on, is that their glasses selection wasn't very big. That will probably be an issue when I go back to get my coke bottles, so I'll probably have to look elsewhere. I come here yearly to have my contact lens Rx renewed. Both Dr Kao and Dr Park are kind, knowledgeable and thoroughly goes through my exam explaining each step. The staff was happy and helpful. The office was quite busy when I arrived at 11:30, and was expecting to wait thinking they were running behind. Pleasantly, I was called as soon as I finished my paperwork. Loudoun Eye Associates is a fantastic place! Dr. Park was very thorough and was very gentle with my eyes. He made me feel comfortable through each test and I did not feel rushed when choosing the best prescription 1 or 2, 3 or 4. He was so patient. Dr. Park explained the results of the exam and let me know specifically how to care for my eyes going forward. I only have one set of eyes and I appreciate a well educated doctor advising me how to take care of them. I feel like Cindy who helped in picking out my frames is a long lost friend. She was so cheerful and kind. Her advice on frames was extremely appreciated. The explanation of my insurance benefits was my favorite part. Cindy would explain what I was eligible for and let me make the choices accordingly. My previous optometrist never explained any insurance details to me and my sticker price was way over my budget and therefore my glasses were a burden to me for a whole year. The frames in the office were clearly labeled with their prices which helped me choose. If you're looking for a nice clean place, a professional atmosphere, and very competent doctors with a friendly staff, this is your place and is now my family's go to place for eye care from now on. read more

I called the office from the parking lot, and Melanie was very accommodating. She made the adjustment very quickly and properly. Dr Park and his team are phenomenal. I went for an eye exam at another practice less than a year ago to have the doctor tell me both eyes were the same prescription and send me on my way. When I went to see Dr Park he took the time to perform quite a few tests and told me my eyes were in fact two different prescriptions. He then had me try out different contact brands to find the one that worked best in my eye. I left with my new contacts in, amazed at how much clearer everything was. The doctors are great, but we won't be returning due to the front staff, particularly, Bree. She was rude, abrupt, and did not want to be bothered. She'd ignore me when I asked her questions, and responded only when I got in front of her, and she could not pretend not to know I'm referring to her. She requested my insurance information, but either intentionally never applied it, or was careless, charging me full price. I was with a young special needs child, and she saw I was struggling. When she saw me stressing, she'd put a forced awkward smile on her face, look at me, and say "have a nice day". When I had enough, I asked for my records, prescription, and told her that she lost us as clients, and why. She smiled, waved her hand, and said "have a nice day". Perhaps she had a bad day, or perhaps she's just mean spirited. Regardless of the reason, it was unacceptable. read more

Been here with the whole family, multiple times, and plan to retun. 2 stars because they seem technically competent, and accept my insurance, and relatively close to home. Minus 3 stars for horrible customer service. Insurance company website site was down, no problem, I'll cover 100% of the bill, I have been here before...nope -waited for hours while they got their act together. Oops, did you call ahead to pick up your prescription at a set time...nope we are at lunch early. Try again, called ahead again, nope - staff meeting. EDIT: Just lowered rating while reliving these stories. How did they do with the kids, well they say they accept kids, and in fact they have provided service to my kids, but they are visibly challenged working with them. Asked my 4 yr old to read a vendor pamphlet to verify his prescription. Very much a geriatric office based on the other clients in the waiting room. No time for more examples. read more

The doctor here is good but the front desk people are not professional at all. There are at least 4 people at the reception. First when I went there, I just wanted to know how I will be billed with my current insurance. After a lot of confusion I was explained how it works. Now what my insurance had told me did not match with what they were saying. Finally I called my insurance myself from their office and asked them to talk to the representative to make my point. Then they agreed to it. The order for my contacts came in 2 weeks late than the scheduled date. I had to make multiple calls (at least 10 times) wasting my time to resolve this issue. read more

I was in need of a new eye doctor so I jumped on Yelp and was happy to find a 5 star eye doctor right around the corner! The 5-stars are not an exaggeration, this place is great! The doctors here are very nice and really take their time to listen to you and talk to you about issues you may have. At my first appointment I was fitted for new contacts because my old ones were bothersome. I went back a week later because they just didn't feel right. The doctor took his time to thoroughly look at my eye and how the contact was fitting. He recommended a different brand of contact, which have worked great! Highly recommend! read more

I would like to express my thanks to Amanda at Loudoun Eye Associates. When the lab associated with my vision plan created all sorts of problems (e.g., ridiculous delays, misplacing my frames, demonstrating little or no customer service skills), a two-week wait for my new lenses turned into nearly a month-long ordeal. Knowing that my backup glasses weren't allowing me to see (as my new ones were progressives), Amanda ordered me some temporary glasses that I could wear for a very important business trip.
