Absolutely THE WORST EVER. Paid $600 for a brand-new pair of eyeglasses, WP 8104 RBY. Eight months later, the right ear-piece breaks. Take it back to Visionworks and these losers say "Sorry, that frame is no longer stocked, you have to buy a new pair of glasses" Ask to just get a replacement ear piece ordered and told "That's not how it works here." Imagine that --- six hundred bucks, lasts less that a year, and they so blithely tell me I'm SOL. It's obvious no one who works there gives a * about me or my patronage. Went to the Visionworks Corporate site. Guess what it says? "Free repairs and adjustments for life" Plus, go to Visionworks Corporate Site -- that same frame style and size is still in stock and for sale ($84). Also for sale on eBay ($24 for the whole frame) and at Warby Parker. If you like to spend lots of money, get screwed, and spend more money, go here. Buyer beware! The day of the appt my son was to get fitted for contacts - they overbooked and couldn't do it . So we went somewhere else. Then we found out that Visionworks "took" my son's glasses benefits even when he only came for contacts without asking his permission. Apparently they do this a lot. This made it impossible for him to get glasses somewhere else (which he always planned to do). It has taken me almost 2 weeks to get the benefit released and it's still not done. I've been waiting for the mgr to call me from a week ago so went in today to rectify in person. The poor girl working was so overwhelmed with 5 or 6 customers needjng various things and couldn't get anything done - she had to call Juan at home twice while in tears! Hoping to end this nightmare so I can get my son glasses soon but have to wait again for Juan to call me back! Waste of time. read more

Please, avoid this place. The amount of people that I saw getting ripped off while there was astounding. They lure people in with coupons but all of their prices are sky high to compensate for those. You can spend half as much at Costco for the same brand of frames. That being said, the rotating doctor is always very nice. The staff is atrocious. Walk in for an appointment, no acknowledgement or anything. Just had to sit there for 20 minutes and watch them charge a couple 900 bucks for two pairs of glasses (they weren't allowed to use their coupon). They also somehow managed to charge my HSA card 3 separate times without actually putting the payment through, causing all the funds on my card to be put on a 4 day hold so I couldn't purchase my glasses. Once the money was back in my account I called to pay and asked to speak to the manager to ensure the payment was processed properly and I was put on hold by the girl that was shadowing the manager who literally mumbles into the phone. After 14 minutes the line disconnected so I called back and was told the manager was out and they could leave a message. I asked if they knew she was out when they put me on hold (I could've called back), and her answer was that they were with customers. So I told her never mind, I went to Costco and was in and out in 15 minutes and paid about $200 less. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at Visionworks in Sterling. I needed to find a new pair of glasses/frames and wanted to insert prescription frames into an existing pair of Sunglasses. I worked with both Juan and Ange who were absolutely fantastic. They were attentive, helpful, and guided me through the glasses buying process. When we had a question about the handwriting on my doctor's prescription, they saved my order so I could double check the handwriting with my doctor before they filled the order. I bought glasses here for my daughter less than a month ago and the arm detached from the glasses. I took them back today and was told that they couldn't be fixed and that 'I didn't buy a warranty' so I could 'buy new glasses for 40% off'!! First of all, who doesn't cover their product that is less than a month old and worth hundreds of dollars? Secondly, in the past 3 months I've bought glasses here for myself, my son and my daughter and not once was I told that I needed to buy a warranty separately for my glasses! And what poor quality crap did they sell me for several hundred dollars that broke so quickly and can't be fixed? Is this just a numbers game for them? Don't go here and be scammed! read more

I will be honest so far I just wasn't impressed with coming here. It was on the list of providers through my vision insurance and it was convenient to get here so I figured I'd give this place a try. My husband also need an eye exam so he could get a new prescription for contacts and I was trying to exhaust what was left of my flex spending dollars. So we got appointments first thing on a Saturday, they do give you the option to fill some of the forms out online to save time which was nice, I did mine ahead of time. They offered some more enhanced retinal screening which cost extra but I opted to get it for both of us (mostly because flex spending $$ to spend). With the exam it seemed pretty thorough although I discovered on top of the astigmatism I have apparently I'm now farsighted (guess that comes with age). She offered to prescribe me with bi-focals or progressive lenses but honestly I barely wear my glasses now unless I'm doing a ton of reading. So I opted for a new Rx for the astigmatism only. My husband apparently his eyes have gotten worse and they gave him a trial pair of stronger contacts. Well by Tuesday they were unbearable for him and he had to return and the other eye dr. opted to try an in between rx that might be a bit easier for him to adjust to. Its wait and see how that works out for him. Now for the selection part, exactly what my vision coverage pays for and what's discounted was not made clear to us by the staff there and trying to find info on my plan's website was useless too. The salesperson said she was going to show us the sheet of what discounts and coverage there was but magically although I saw the top of the sheet I didn't see the rest of the detailed info. My husbands stuff was pretty standard since he got contacts and a pair of glasses. For me I was a bit annoyed I didn't need yet another pair of glasses that I hardly wear (and honestly I should look for my older pairs and donate them to be given to the needy). I elected to get sunglasses instead. Well little did I know on top of the frame and lenses, they said "what kind of polarization do you want" little did I know this added about $130 onto the price. It would have been nice to know this upfront. Granted polarized sunglasses are great one non Rx pair I've had for year is polarized and they do help compared to my other lenses. But for me its the principle of the total lack of transparency when it came to us buying our glasses and contacts between the two of us. Mind you I have flex spending that will reimburse the entire cost of this visit, but honestly I'm still a bit miffed over what I felt was sort of a shell game in dealing with the sales staff here. Granted overall I'm not pleased with my vision carrier either so regardless I don't know if I'll return here 1. because if they're not on my plan, and 2. unless they try and make things right when I go and pick up my stuff and express my displeasure with the process. I am going to start off by saying the young doctor was amazing and did her job just right. However the gentleman named wasim, not so much. Once I got the prescription I headed to him to order the glasses, he tried to upsell everything. After saying no multiple times he finally gave up, however when it came to order the product I had to come back several times just for him to order it, skip another week he never placed the order. Once again I found my self waiting for another 2 and half weeks, which is today. After calling to ask about the glasses, they made up an excuse of how the laboratory had to send back the frame because it did not fit.... how can that even be possible if the lenses are cut to fit the frame. I went in this morning for an eye exam and ended up walking out after discovering they did not have the information I provided online. TLDR: I really liked Visionworks, but this branch is very disorganized - they seem to have lost my order and made me wait a week and half and didn't reach out to me once even though I had asked them to. If you're looking to actually get glasses, I'd get them somewhere else. I liked the glasses selection of the Herndon Visionworks, but Herndon is pretty far from where I live. So instead, I went to the Sterling location.I went in to get a pair on glasses around a week and a half ago - my glasses were broken. I picked out a pair of glasses and gave them my insurance. They told me that my insurance was known to not respond quickly and said that they would need until the next day to contact my insurance using their third party insurance contractor. They said they would contact me when my insurance company got back the next day. That was fine too. I chose the frame I wanted, gave them my measurements, and my phone number and then left. The next day, I didn't get a call from them. So I called them. The person who picked up didn't seem to know what was happening - they said that the person who had handled my case the day before wasn't working today so I would have to wait. I said sure, I can wait, how long? They said a week. Cut to one and a half weeks later, and they haven't even contacted me. I'm pretty sure they've lost my order somewhere in their shuffle. So I call them again, and the person who picks up again has no idea that I've ordered a pair of glasses. After a while, she hangs up mid conversation. I called back, and nobody picked up. They're ignoring me! Thank god I hadn't paid yet - I'm taking my business elsewhere. Edit: I was right; I went in person to cancel my order and they told me that they hadn't even put me in the system for my glasses. What a waste of time. read more

This place is mess. Unprofessional and rude people are working here and the management doesn't care about it. There were Miss Liza (Assistant Maneger) and Miss Jessica working here who were the real assets of Visionworks Doctors of Optometry and I guess they left this place. Now there is Mr Waseem, who always lies and overcharge money and a new entry, Miss Elizabeth, who is following Mr. Waseem. I visited for my eye exam and she tried to overcharge me about 30/40 dollars extra. When I asked the details and she didn't have any proper answer and she twisted the story and in the meanwhile Mr Waseem jumped into our conversation and started telling the lie and tried to hide Miss Elizabeth's wrong act. Unfortunately, I already did my eye exam and now I didn't have any other choice to select my eye glasses. I have been visiting this place from last three years just because of Miss Liza and I know Mr Waseem, he always lies and I always tried not to have contact with him. First, I called 5 minutes before closing and they assigned the first appointment the next day. Dr. Quinn was very helpful and informative about the eye exam and what I had to do next. I took my daughters there. They preapproved my insurance. Then they got the prescription wrong and they got the prices wrong. Then they sent insurance for 1 daughter but sent me a bill for the other. I tried to call main office 5 times and got put on hold and then to voice mail. No one ever returned my call. Called the local Sterling office and talked to the manager and she said there was nothing she could do. This was a very horrible experience. read more

A few weeks ago, I lost my last pair of glasses. The glasses shop I used to get my glasses in the past 16 years was temporarily closed because of COVID. Thus, I had to find another VisionWorks shop for this time and found this one close to my sport club. The young lady working at the front desk was extremely courteous and professional. Dr. Sheeba did a great job prescribing my glasses which turned out to be super clear and comfortable. It took me no time at all to get extremely comfortable with this new pair of glasses. The only issue was that the shop didn't call me when my glasses were ready for pick up. The other shop I always used for many years always called me as soon as the glasses were ready. Just got out of my first appointment ever here, and I was truly pleased with the service and overall experience. I've had such a bad experience with purchasing contact lenses in the past, that I was very hesitant to go anywhere for my eye exam and contacts. I paid over $300 for a year supply of contacts which I soon figured out was ABSURD. I spent less than 30 minutes here and left with a complete eye exam and a year supply full of contacts for basically $20 (including the rebate they offered). I went to Visionworks to get glasses for my mother. It is very difficult to get her out because she needs a wheelchair and uses oxygen. I wanted to try to make it as easy as possible and that is what Tamanna at Visionworks did. She even offered to come out to the car to take the measurement on the lenses so mom would not have to get out of the car. I brought mom for her fitting and they took her right away. Everytime I went to pick them up they were not ordered, but they always said "we will order them today and they should arrive in a week, we will call you" but they never called. I asked for a refund and they said they had the contacts for the right eye. Seriously, what am I going to do with one contact? Patch the other like a little pirate?
