If you want to be yelled at and spoken to condescendingly when you walk in for help, I highly recommend this office. Front desk couldn't be ruder. They must be hurting for appointments, because instead of helping with my request on a valid prescription, they were pushing me to schedule a new appointment in order to fulfill my request (even though my Rx is technically valid). I won't be back. And I highly suggest you find another office. I am not one to leave bad reviews. I usually only take the time to write if I have a good experience (which is most often the case). But this place is not good and I feel it's important to share this experience as a caution to others. I will not be returning and would recommend considering another office. read more

I have been coming to see Dr. Gage for years. She is FANTASTIC. She is the only reason I come back at all. However, last time I came in I noticed a few things that bothered me. (Nothing to do with Dr. Gage) Firstly, I was extremely nauseated at the time from motion sickness (hence why I was there to get my eyes looked at) so I understand if my behavior was a bit odd and fidgety as I am sitting there wondering if I could make it through the appointment without having to run to throw up. Fortunately, I made it. But the people at the front were simply... not friendly. I'm not expecting the most but getting what I'd attribute as dirty looks when I walk in is just... off putting. I got the ol' "don't ask me for anything, I'm BUSY" look so I just, avoided being near them after checking in. Also both of their tones of voice while dealing with me and other customers was akin to when the nurse gets irritated with my grandma with dementia. Second, I did not see Dr. Gage but rather Dr. Pham who is very professional and very nice. I did speak to her about some concerns I had with my eyesight and she kind of waved them off as nonissues which kind of bothered me. I was looking for confirmation or an explanation as to why it was not an issue. She also did not want to measure my PD and told me the people at the front would... the ones who wouldn't speak to me unless I pushed in like a rude customer... so I just didn't. Overall, I don't really have an issue with Dr. Pham, I just would like to hear information from a doctor at an appointment and not what I can try to figure out from online and troubleshoot myself. That's... why I was there. Thirdly, the receptionist in the back next to where you go in for the exam... had her earbuds in the whole time? That's really wild to me. She didn't hear what I was asking because of this and it was just really off putting. The whole time I felt like I wasn't supposed to be there and was inconveniencing everyone. Their office wrote me an extended prescription during pandemic with a huge mistake on the right eye SPH. Instead of -2.5, they wrote -3.5 with the signature from their doctor Dr.Gage. Luckily, the store I always made glasses at caught this huge mistake. I left a voice msg and asked the office to review this error and give me a call back. When called again days later and asked about this error, there was no apology. What they said to me exactly was -- "that's a *SMALL* error" and "we are doing you a favor to extend your prescription". When a -2.5 SPH erroneously turns into -3.5 SPH, the glassware a customer spends hundreds of dollars on just becomes useless. Update: We got an email from their office, starts with "I apologize if there was an error in your script." IF THERE WAS an error!? Ohh wow....somebody's ego needs to be massaged. read more

I called and made an appointment, spoke to them on the phone. Without consulting me, they gave my appointment to someone else. When I arrived, after driving for an hour, they spouted garbage about confirming the time. I called and scheduled the appointment, not on the computer. Dr. Gage was amazing as usual. My son has had vision problems for many years and she is the best doctor we have seen. She takes her time and explains everything. She noticed my son's retinas are lighter than most and that causes him to have a sensitivity to the sunlight. We have been going to the eye doctor for years and no one has caught that. 10 out of 10 recommend her! read more

Love that all the staff were wearing masks. They were very sanitary with the office. I loved the idea of when it came time to try on glasses, they had you put them in a white tray to get disinfected before going back on the browsing wall. The optometrist was amazing and definitely listened to my concerns and requests. So happy to have found my a great eye doctor! read more

My husband and I came here to get new glasses expecting them to be much cheaper than purchasing directly from our regular eye doctor. Alex was professional and helpful in both picking out new frames and figuring out how we could save the most money with our insurance coverage and Target discounts (make sure to register for Target optical to get a coupon!). Our glasses came in quicker than expected which was a plus, and Alex also remembered who we were and what glasses we ordered. I assume he sees many people throughout the week so I was quite surprised when he remembered. He sized our glasses promptly to fit our face and also reminded us that if they don't work, we have a 30 day window to return. We will definitely return the next time we need new glasses. read more

Fantastic customer service!! Mir helped me find the perfect glasses and sunglasses! They also made sure to check my insurance twice and compare it with their promo ti save me the most money. Upon receiving my glasses, a lense had the slighest scratch, but they insisted to order new ones right away before i even asked. They are fantastic and lovely! This was the first time I've gone to Target to get my eyeglasses/contacts. I changed jobs and my new insurance was covered there. I've never had such a great experience. I worked with a salesgirl named Lynn. She helped me pick out glasses and gave me pretty honest advice. I didn't know what I was looking for and she showed me a number of different styles and what worked well for me. When I was ordering the glasses, she helped walk me through how to use my insurance properly and what perks I got through my plan. I got a call to pick up my glasses a week later and Lynn was there again to help make sure they fit right. I was very happy with the entire process and would definitely go back and/or recommend to friends or family. Great experience! read more

Very friendly service! They were quick to greet and ask if we needed help. There was no rushing us along throughout the process of choosing frames or the pick up visit. I had an appointment today with Dr. Gage, who is the best Optician. Her Target office has a glass door separate from the main doors which are quite a ways away. Sometimes there is a sign on the door that says to use the main entrance. Today I knocked on the door to be let in. I recently had foot surgery and walking is difficult. I explained to the receptionist who was standing two feet on the other side of the door that it was painful to walk due to having had surgery, but she insisted on my walking all the way around, refusing to open the door. I told her if she refused to open the door, I would have to cancel my appointment. She shrugged indicating that was want she wanted to happen rather than go to the 5 second trouble of letting me in. While Dr. Gage is the best, this woman is the worst. To refuse to admit someone who is recovering from surgery is heartless, mean-spirited, compassionateness, cruel and downright rude. Were I her boss, and knew of her attitude and actions, I would fire her on the spot. While I love having Dr. Gage meet my optical needs, I will not patronize any business that has an employee who treats people so. Lawrence B read more

My son is a regular patient of Dr. Gage. I took my daughter this afternoon for her first appointment. We arrived at 442pm and our appointment was at 430pm. The Target representative explained our appointment was at 430pm and the Drs. 5pm came early so she was in with that patient but he would see what he could do. In the meantime, we could fill out the paperwork. As we started to fill out the paperwork, he explained we will try to fit us in if the 5pm appointment doesn't show. Well that didn't match what he said 2 minutes before that the 5pm appointment came early. Then he said well she took a walk-in. So it seems she has so much business, she doesn't need mine. Dr. Gage is the best optometrist I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot in 30 years)! She told me more about my vision and my options than anyone else ever has and she is so nice. The whole staff was really nice and helpful, everyone there was genuinely happy to talk to us and take time to answer our questions. Never going anywhere else, I wish I found her sooner! I am a busy mother of 3 and finally had time to book an appointment at Target Optical as it was close and convenient. I go to Target to shop almost twice a week so "why not" right? I read the online reviews and felt I was making a good decision. I booked my appointment. WIth Dr. Bierly. I did not find reviews on the Dr but the location got great reviews. Maybe that was my mistake but that was the doctor available at my time slot. I arrived 2 minutes later than my appointment apologizing as I ran into the store. The 2 girls there looked at me like I was an alien. They exchanged looks with one another and (no greeting first of all) started telling EACH OTHER (not me) that I was late and that I would have to reschedule and that the doctor would not see me (although there was not another appointment, apparently the Dr was stepping out). They did not ask me nicely or anything nor did they every actually address ME. I again apologized but informed them I had already filled out all the paperwork online so I didn't have to do that part. Then they continued to talk to EACH OTHER (while giving me at this point nasty looks) and said I was late and I would have to come back. Never did they apologize (I know I was late but they are customer service based) nor address ME! I usually am a person "if you have nothing nice to say don't day anything at all" but in this case I had to take the time to write this review. The main DR there Dr Gage may have great reviews but the girls that work at the front are poorly trained in customer service. The two that day as well as a week earlier after shopping I stopped in to make the appointment in person and stood there for 10 minutes with my kids and not once did the other two girls (not the same) say anything to me. They DID look at me, no smile no hello. Maybe this is how the front people are trained? To look like they hate their job and to give potential customers a dirty look? I don't know but all I know is I will stick with places I already have gone to, have had good experiences with and to remember to follow the first impression I get of a place. If I had I never would've had the follow up second bad experience. That's the end of my little rant. read more
