I went in for a visit with an optometrist and had an overall good experience. I appreciated that they were quick and I didn't have to wait a long time. I called beforehand to check with my insurance would cover which was important otherwise I would have likely have had to pay a surprise $100 after the visit for a contact lense exam. A possible point of improvement is that I was recommended to do two optional tests at the beginning of the appointment for an additional $39. Had I done this, it would have been a waste of money because the doctor wanted me to get my eyes dilated. After the dilation, the doctor checks the same thing that the mentioned test do. read more

I Care Doctor - Optometrists Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

Oh man, it really breaks my heart to leave this review. So I called first thing on Friday 12/27/24 about scheduling my yearly exam and getting a refill on my eye drops. My allergies seriously kick my arse so the drops Dr. G prescribes me is amazing. I was told by someone that I needed an office visit to get the RX. I explained I now live over an our away and am uncertain as to why refills weren't allowed this go around. WELL, eventually front desk called me back, rushed me off the phone after saying an RX has been sent to the pharmacy. Didn't ask me which pharmacy the RX needs to be sent to, didn't let me schedule my annual, and didn't let me speak. Monday I called the office explaining the RX was sent to the wrong pharmacy and I asked for a call back to express how I was feeling and to schedule my yearly...I don't get a call but a TEXT on 12/31 asking what pharmacy I'm at. It was eventually sent to the correct one. I've referred SEVERAL people to Dr. G and I'm disappointed I was treated in such manner. DO BETTER PLEASE. read more

I saw Dr. Ghannam in April for my biyearly eye exam and also purchased reading glasses there, based on Dr. Ghannam's prescription. (They have a wide variety of frames to choose from.) The front office staff was very kind and friendly and Dr. Ghannam was very thorough examining my eyes. When my reading glasses were ready to pick up, I was impressed at how perfectly I could see with them. It was evident to me that Dr. Ghannam had done an excellent job examining my eyes because my vision for reading was remarkable with my new glasses. I love this place. They solved a big problem for me. Last year I tried progressive lens for the first time at a big box store eye care place. They didn't work for me at all and I had gone back to non progressives. I was having to take my glasses on and off all day and getting lots of headaches. I found out from Dr. Ramphal that my previous prescription was incorrect, and also that before I had only been offered standard progressive lens, when there are other choices that cause less distortion. I ordered new progressive lens, they had a great selection of frames (and were very helpful about helping me choose a pair) and the glasses arrived in a week and a half, sooner than expected. It's only been 1 day, but I am already almost used to my new progressive lens and can tell they are going to work for me. Dr. Ramphal also had great suggestions about supplements to help my allergies/dry eyes. I appreciated that he is pro-holistic health. read more

I've been going here for years and the entire staff is absolutely amazing; they have always been friendly and helpful. I can't said that a lot about most office staff at any doctors office. Dr Ghannam is wonderful and takes his time to listen to you and explain things thoroughly. Basic eye check-ups. Nothing extraordinary, honestly! I don't feel like I have received special care at all, even that the Dr. is a nice guy, but he is quick and I am not sure how well he listened and really understood what I was trying to say. These experiences might vary from person to person as it is based on perception. But compared to all kinds of other doctors I am and have been seeing, this was the kind of impression I got. But again, he is very friendly. I will try a different doctor next time though to compare Here's about the Optician and the selwction of their frames. The opticion is friendly, but does not measure every detail for you (like the PD, etc.). So you have to ask for that! If you forget to ask, then you won't have that info to buy your glasses somewhere else. So don't forget to ask like I did! I wonder if they do that on purpose so you only buy your glasses there (?) Optician will also try everything to help you find your glasses there (it's money for them!). I let her show me things and she worked hard, but I ended up wanting to go somewhere else, because their selection is so pity and so mainstream. They are also expensive and my frames never lasted long at all! Ugh. I have bought glasses there for two years in a row, and am not doing it again - as said before, glasses weren't good quality but pricey. With opticians and eye doctors I have a feeling it's all about selling! $$$$ Makes me very frustrated. I shall go somewhere else soon and see how it is there. read more

What a great doctor and office! I saw Dr. Ghannam and he was extremely attentive and very friendly. He took his time to examine my eyes and did some exams that other doctors had never done (such as taking a picture of the inside of my retina to see the back of the eye and its nerve, for example). It also had been super easy to get an appointment quickly as a new patient. The office staff is super helpful and very friendly. The optician was helpful with showing me all the different glasses they have in their shop, and none of the staff members were pushy about me having to buy the glasses there. They have a big selection of different styles. If you can't find what you're looking for, they offer to look things up for you or they give you the prescription so you can buy the glasses and/or contacts somewhere else. He was friendly and put me at ease. I felt that I was in very competent hands. I got a prescription and ordered glasses. Be aware of additional charge that they forced on you. My daughter is wearing CRT and went to annual check up. She doesn't need new lenses for this year but instead wants to get a pair of glass. However, they still charged with $115 lens fitting fee without out our knowledge. I am the long time customer for this office but since pandemic, they enforced additional fees on customers. Receptionist was rude and would not make an appointment. Phone call was an issue and eye doctor was impolite. Do not call them!

The whole staff is very friendly and knowledgable! The doctor does a thorough job and has a nice demeanor. The check-out process does need to be improved. After the annual eye exam, it took another 1hour and 10 minutes just to check out. The total time we were there was over two hours. I am very unhappy with I Care Doctor. I started in the Silver Spring office with Yanifer. My brother and I both went for eye exams and progressive lenses. While the eye dr gave my brother a full eye exam - dilation, my eyes were not dilated. I wondered why? Initially, everything seemed fine and everyone was very friendly. My brother and I both ordered progressive lenses. We waited approximately for them. We drove from Virginia to visit their office in Silver Spring, MD. When we went to pick up the glasses, I could not see clearly out of my glasses. The distance vision was good but the reading and computer reading was not. There was very little reading ability. It was obvious I could not use the expensive glasses that I had already paid for. When my brother tried on his glasses, they were even worse. He was not able to see distance at all. Yannifer did not want to listen that the glasses were poorly made and that we could not use them. After more than an hour of her trying to convince us that we just need to get use to the glasses, I finally asked for a supervisor. I was told she had left early. We left without the glasses, and was told that she was going to call her supervisor. I had to keep calling back as it was getting closer to 5pm and wanted to make sure that I received a call. The supervisor called me later that evening and left a message. When I tried to call her back her voice mail was full, therefore, I could not leave a message. I was told the supervisors name was Nina. Next morning, Saturday, I called the Herndon, VA office since the Silver Spring office was closed and explained the problem to the person answering the phone. He was very polite and made sure that Nina would be calling me. I spoke with Nina in the early part of the week. I had a very long conversation with Nina or should I say argument. First I had to listen to how great their company is. I kept telling her the glasses were poorly made and wanted a full refund. My brother and I had spent over $600 and could not use the glasses. Nina said she video tapes the office but yet she had not looked at the tape. Otherwise, she would have known what had happened. During the course of the conversation, I found out that she is the Dr. Ghannam's wife. She would not refund us for the expensive glasses but insisted that we come to the Herndon office where her Husband works. She said she could not return the glasses where they had been made if we did not give them a second chance. Very upset, what other choice did I have - They had our money. We met with the Dr. and I finally got a full eye exam. They were very nice and again we waited approximately two weeks for the glasses. When we went back they were still not right. My brother's glasses - he can at least see distance but the reading and intermediate are about the same. Again, I can see distance but the reading and intermediate are still blury and there is only a small space I can read. Nina had promised that if the glasses were not right the second time, she would give a refund. Well, the glasses are still not right. I reluctantly left there once again from I Care Dr with a pair of glasses I could not used because they were so poorly made. Approximately 10 days later I hear from Nina asking for an update. Once again, I explained I could not use the glasses. No Response and No Refund. Please do not use this company for next eye exam or glasses. You might not get a full eye exam unless you ask for it and end up spending a lot of money for poorly made glasses that just sit in the case. My brother and I cannot afford to lose $350 each and would not want someone else to either. Thank you read more
