The exam itself was fine, but the overall experience was frustrating. They didn't have trial contacts in stock for my prescription, so they ordered them and told me I could stop by once they arrived. However, they refused to give me my prescription without trying the contacts on first, even though I've been wearing contacts for 30 years. I later received a text saying: "Great news! Your contacts are ready. See you soon!" so I went back in expecting to quickly try them on and get my prescription. Instead, they refused to let me do so without an appointment. I'm confused because they advertise same-day appointments, so I don't understand why this couldn't have been accommodated. The front desk employee was rude and dismissive during the interaction. This is my single star review in a long time. This place is outright disrespectful. I have been here twice once for the appointment and the other day to pick the glasses. On the day of appointment, the doctor everyone is good but the lady who takes order for the glasses was really biased. She just asked me to go pick the glasses and come, while there was another man where she stood up went and explained the glasses, saw what worked for him and took care. What was that? The day of the pickup I walk in she sees me and not once she smiles or greets completely ignores me while she's attending another customer. I understand but a pleasant smile would not hurt her. I wait patiently for 10 min with no one to even ask, I just leave and she doesn't care. I am sorry you just ruined my day, I can't be your customer and I suggest to avoid this place. read more

The Dr. that completed my exam seemed as if the exam was an inconvenience and the exam was rushed. Out of this office Jared who checked me in seemed to be the only one who cared to make the experience pleasant even while I was having a difficult time with my insurance. Caution aswell with their contact lens exam fees, they don't disclose the ranges upfront. Ive never had to pay over 60.00 for a contact exam which my insurance covers, they charged me 90.00 (170.00 for my daughter and I) during the check out process the young lady Anayeli, sitting next Jared seemed irritated and impatient that I was questioning why the total of for my contacts would amount to 522.00 for 90 days worth of contacts, when again my insurance allowance usually allows me to have a sufficient contacts for the 90 days with my allowance. Only reason I opted to go here is because the hours at Sams and Costco don't align with my work schedule, next time I'll have to make it work before returning. I still have a visit to follow up on since my daughter will be wearing contact lenses for the 1st time, I'll be sure to request a different optometrist. read more

I went to my appointment. Verified my insurance before I arrived. Exam went fine. Went to pay for my new glasses and they informed me their system showed I wasn't eligible, even though I could see via the insurance directly that I wasn't eligible as I hadn't used my benefits for a couple years (not to mention no one addressed this prior to my appointment or before I had spent time getting an exam and selecting my glasses despite having my information ahead of time). It was after hours so they told me that would call the insurance the next day to correct the issue and that was fine. Except they didn't call me as agreed. So I attempted to call them and wasted time navigating around an AI agent to finally get transferred to a live person only to be told that I reached a central call center that was closed, not the store that was currently open, and then it disconnected the call. I don't have time to waste following up on something that shouldn't have been an issue in the first place and definitely should have been handled by the store as agreed. But to expect me to drive over anytime I need to speak with someone is ridiculous and I would suggest looking elsewhere for your eye needs if you need actual customer service. Additionally, as you will see on their replies as well as other social media sites, they won't take ownership for these issues and want you to waste more time emailing them and waiting even longer for a reply. read more

Staff were quite good on my visits but when I saw a second charge in my bank statement, I did not understand why it was not all together in my printed receipt. I called and got a short answer, saying that the charge was for the exam and that they forgot to give me the receipt. NP, can please send me the receipt via email ? "we can't, you'll have to come back"... VISIONWORKS you are getting a bad review, your customers should not have to do the work to fix your mistake! All locations I have ever gone to have been great, ( with the exception of the one inside chandler fashion square- they suck) ANYWHOOO, this place was great! Loved that everyone was wearing masks and gloves, they cleaned everything off after people touched stuff. Made me feel like they really cared about our health and safety. Also, shout out to TIM the supervisor! He was great with my kids, my kids are little characters, always cracking jokes and I really appreciated that he took the time to individually assist each with their questions and concerns. This site does care about your time. I had an appointment on Tuesday at 5:30, they call at 9am to ask if I want to come in earlier. I explain, No I have to work. Then the girl says well I have to reschedule you cause the doctor called in. Fine, reschedule for 2 days later. But when I show up on time for my appointment, they tell me the doctor is running 45 minutes behind. If they are not going to respect my time, why should I give it to them. read more

I popped into this location unannounced with a child that was visiting our family with broken frames. Max immediately welcomed us and offered to help. The frames were not able to be repaired unfortunately, but Max was able to get us a deal on the same frames on display. Do not hand them your debit or cc. They just charged me $70 and I didn't authorize it. They said "whoops" then they called their manager on the phone who didn't seem to care as well. They also have hidden charges on exams. I have never In my life been told that there is an extra charge as high as 60-100 for a contact lens exam with insurance. My insurance pays $10 for an exam. But that fact is they could care less about refunding your money. Oops sorry guess you will have to wait a few days. No condolences. No one cares at this office.. Horribly run. read more

I recently got new glasses and contacts from this location. All of the staff were great! And the glasses are great, but I'm having problems with the contact lenses. I have tried calling- which goes to the corporate number. Three different times ive waited on hold for 15 min. and twice it just disconnected. I've submitted two requests via the website for help and never received any acknowledgement. Finally today, I reached a human!!! She contacted the store and i was able to schedule a follow-up appointment. This has been frustrating however I am hopeful it will be resolved! read more

Pros-all protocols were followed in office. The only best customer service came from Jennifer in the back. Hence the reason for 2 stars. Cons- waited 40 mins for eye exam. Once my daughter came back after preliminary checks, an older rude lady at front asks abruptly if there is something we're here for? Usually a good customer service would be to say- "Ma'am, is there something I can help you with" or "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were still waiting". Dr. Judith Harvey is amazing. She understands my eyes and offers vitamins to keep them healthy and reviews the eye ‍ retinal imaging which is the latest way to see the health of your eyes. I ordered my new glasses 12/15/22 and was told they should arrive before Christmas...today is 01/05/23 and I still don't have them. I've called twice and went in person today and was only told they were still at the lab (in Texas) with no targeted delivery date. I requested a refund but was told it was company policy to not issue refund(s) until the glasses were delivered. I have never waited three weeks for new glasses and am beyond frustrated. I just called their Customer Service Number; the representative has reached out to the lab for an ETA and committed to calling me tomorrow when she receives a response. Evidently the lab is not part of Visionworks and the only way to contact them is email, no phone communications...terrible customer service in my opinion. I have a very particular look I like with my eyewear and it's so hard for me to get what I like. Visionworks did my tint perfectly two years ago and now my prescription has changed and I need new lenses. I went back into the store today and spoke with Tim and explained what I was wanting. At first I didn't think I would get exactly what I want yet again because they are not using the same lens manufacturer from 2 years ago. But him and Megan really worked to figure this out, and Tim agreed to do my tint himself.... I was floored to see him care that much!! I made an appointment online and received a phone V/M from Sierra almost immediately stating something about they were in the middle of changing their schedule when I made my appointment. When I returned the call she wanted me to come in earlier; I was at work and couldn't. She repeatedly told me their last appointment for the day was 5:30 pm but their online system let me make an appointment for 5:45 pm. She was cranky and said they could work me in as a "walk in" even though I had an appointment. The ease of making an eye appt exam and completing it was a positive. The problem now is getting an appt to get my glasses. No one answered the phones and the only option on line is to schedule an actual eye exam which I don't need. The staff told me there is a schedule for online for pick up but it's not true. When you go to other services it takes you right back to schedule an eye exam. Then I tried calling multiple times and you sit on hold for 15 minutes before I hang up. Tom was absolutely incredible! He was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He helped me find great frames that complimented my face and was very patient with me throughout my visit. His store was very clean and organized and my visit at his store was much better than the Visionworks at San Tan Village where I experienced terrible customer service. He made up for the poor quality of the other employees that mistreated me and has restored my business with this company. Overall the staff was very friendly. From the eye exam to the selection for new frames I had a good experience. When selecting frames I worked with Tim and he did a great job of giving me time to make the best selection for me and also ran all of the numbers on a few different frames so I could see what the final price would be after insurance coverage. He also went above and beyond cleaning my other pair of glasses and replacing the gel inserts that sit on the bridge of my nose. Overall, I would recommend this location to anyone that is looking for good service and quality frames at an affordable price. read more
