No rating for this terrible place. My friend went to have them check a chain to see if it was real and he grabbed it and said " nope it was fake and dropped it back in her hand" not even trying to check it with the weight or tester. Until she pointed out it was a 10k chain and he actually did check it and apologized after. It was super unprofessional of them to do that. He confused it with a 18k chain. Don't run a shop if you don't know what kind of jewelry you working with. read more

This is my first Yelp review ever because both of my experiences really stick out for both pawn shops and businesses in general. I've been here twice and the first time, the pawn broker wouldn't stay open 10 minutes before the closing time and just flat out denied me because I had to go home and get my renewed paper license. I get that it's his call on when to close but the excuse he gave was that it would take him 30-40 minutes to get me into the system and anyone who's ever been to a pawn shop knows that that's blatantly false. I just went today for the second time, I thought maybe last time was a fluke. So I show up, present my items and he gives me a quote on only 1 thing and that was $4. He was going to ring it up but I asked for it back because I needed to groceries by today and I would've liked to get ride of the other 3 things I had instead of going all over town. I asked for it back and he straight up accused me of "talking at/looking at [him] like [he's] an a**hole" simply because I asked for the item back and told him why. I still have zero idea why he thought or said that. I was disappointed and looked him in the eye and said that I didn't mean anything by that, I was only disappointed because I would've had to go to another city to try pawning there and I was more or less out of gas. it was just a big inconvenience at that specific moment but I absolutely said nothing bad or negative to him. We briefly talked about it and he backed off after which I packed my things and amicably split from him. I googled a pawn shop closer than his referral to go to another city and luckily it was still open so I went in, sold my all my stuff and got about 100 dollars in the span of 10 minutes. I've been to a few different shops here and there and VIP was easily the worst experience I've ever had at a pawn shop. I was reticent to write any sort of review the first time because maybe it just wasn't a good day but the service person (tall, big guy, shave head with a beard) confirmed himself to be a run of the mill jerk. I'll never go back there nor will I recommend it to anyone. Just a weirdly random aggressive interaction from that dude. I don't act any differentLu at any other pawn shop or business and I did try to take that into thought after I easily sold my stuff at the second store so I'm confident that I wasn't trying to do anything. Antonio treats us better than any pawn shop in town. He gives fair prices and is just so great to deal with. Some other pawn shop owners or employees make you feel like a skum bag for trying to come up with extra rent money and assume u are desperate and will accept next to nothing for an item you paid your hard earned money for. I would highly recommend not going to this pawn shop. The owner threatened me physically for trying to buy some .22 ammo from a costumer outside the store.The costumer didn't even have the ammo with them. And in no way was I hurting his business. I walked in the store to give that person my phone number. Then the owner told me that when i come back in he was going to "kick my ass". There are plenty of other quality pawn shops in the orem/provo area. I would not trust this store with anything i wanted to pawn. His interest rate on a pawn is 20%, where most other pawn shops are 15%. In no way should anybody with this kind of attitude be handing firearms and your property. We have had the police investigate the matter. I will never go back there and i HIGHLY recommend you don't patronize his business. I have never wrote a review online before but i felt that others should not have to be treated this way. read more
