Summary: Casual Italian lunch spot, reasonable at around 10 dollars a plate, the eggplant Parm and sweet tea are to die for, only one star deducted because one of my party's Veal Parmesean was tough. I visited their location for a Saturday lunch with my grandparents. I ordered the eggplant parmesan, one the chicken parmesan and the other the veal parmesan. It took maybe ten to fifteen minutes for our orders to arrive, not bad at all! Service: Servers seemed rushed but attentive. Food: Eggplant parmesan was incredible! Best I have ever had! It was served with a side of Angel hair pasta with red sauce and some garlic ciabatta. Red sauce on pasta needed a little something more, tomato was very tangy. Some sugar or a longer cooking time would have remedied. The Veal Parm was almost 20 dollars, double the other two and was tough. This was a decent meal. We ordered a calzone with pepperoni. The slices of pepperoni were very thick, they did put plenty in there as well. But I felt there was hardly any ricotta cheese. Also the side of sauce was very bland, had no salt in it. We also got a pizza with mushrooms & pepperoni which also was ok. We got a small Greek salad as well. We had a great experience. Even though we didn't have a reservation, the staff was very nice and our wait was reasonable. Oh my gosh. We will have to stop at Violas every single time we are on the east coast in the future. This restaurant is divine!!!! I called around 4pm to see if they did call a heads or walk ins, was told they usually have reservations booked up a couple days in advance but they may be able to squeeze us in if we came by 430ish. We got seated at the bar, a nice little 8-10 seated area. We ordered the garlic knots appetizer (oh dear lord any garlic knots ever tasted before these could NEVER compete), the Greek salad, a small pizza and the linguine with clams. The pasta and the sauce was absolutely phenomenal, really honestly mind blowing. I've never really been a fan of clams, but I am now obsessed, and will likely dream of this pasta tonight. Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and the service was top notch as well. Me and husband agreed this is likely the best Italian inspired restaurant we've ever visited. So... random little Italian joint that I nearly pass every time I go looking for it. Luckily, I find it by looking for all of the vehicles parked on the side of the road as a hint I am approaching! I've been here about 4-5 times, and it never fails to satisfy. It's always busy. And you will always get a wait time for a table of over 30 minutes (and it usually takes 15-20 min). Do not get frustrated, do not turn around, don't think you can't wait -- you can. Figure out a way to safely park your car. Then grab a glass of wine. It is worth it. This little place is worth the visit if you are staying downtown. It's cute. It's warm. It's inviting. Service is great. Oh, the food? The food is worth the wait. We've had the eggplant rollatinis, chicken parm, lasagna, linguine with clams (made through their choose your own pasta section), lobster ravioli -- and the creme de la creme -- osso bucco. We love the garlic knots. The caesar salad has a nice bite to it. I am a sucker for everything eggplant and the eggplant rollatinis are definitely a favorite (delicious eggplant stuffed to the brim with ricotta cheese and served with marinara and I think pasta). It's an awesome vegetarian option. The lasagna is pure rectangular shaped mass of cheese, meat and noodle perfection for the carnivores. Sadly, I've never ordered a pizza but they always look really good! I liked but did not love the lobster ravioli which is served with a white cream sauce -- it's rich, super rich -- like it should be. And it is delicious! But I prefer red sauces over white cream sauces. It's not a super huge portion, so don't expect to be bursting from the seems with it. But the reason why I am writing this review? The weekend special -- osso bucco. Wow. Wow. Wow. First, fair warning, it's HUGE. My step MIL and I later realized we should've split an order. But that's OK! Left overs! Perfectly braised and tender piece of meat. If you are lucky, your bones will be split just right to get to the marrow. Served on top of these amazing whipped potatoes, fantastic brown gravy, and roasted root veggies. Their wines by the glass selection is actually really good. Price points are great to get a bottle without breaking the bank. They have a really easy to drink, delicious Barbera d'asti -- and it's BY THE GLASS! (THANK YOU!) Of course sangiovese, montepulciano and chianti. I appreciate the just 1 chianti. I am not a fan of chianti and I hate that it usually overruns a wine menu at Italian places. But BARBERA! You can experience some different Italian wines and not feel guilty. I go here for date nights and for taking out of town guests to surprise them with really good Italian on this little island. read more

I wanted so much to enjoy a well made pizza 2022 Super Bowl night, so I thought I'd try Viola's. The pizza looked delicious. I had order their "Supreme". However, when I and my wife took our first bites, the pizza tasted as if someone had pour a bottle of salt upon the entire pizza. For such a beautifully made pizza, such a disappointment. I don't know if I simple got a batch of overly salted tomato sauce or what. Needless to say we didn't finish the pizza that night and reheated a few slices the next day with added mozzarella hoping it would help cut the salt, but it did not. I cannot say enough good things about Viola's! We came in on a busy Thursday night without a reservation. Deb worked her magic and fit us in after a short wait. She was so kind and brought us drinks while we waited. The restaurant was very busy and she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and kept checking in with us. The food was also excellent! Don't miss the Garlic Knots! The pizza was also very good and my eggplant rollatini was the best I have ever had. We were only in town for three nights and we ended up going back another night to pick up take out. This place is fabulous! Our waitress, Anne Marie, made us feel at home instantly. The hostess (maybe manager, whose name we did not catch) is fabulous as well. Food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is amazing. We loved it so much that we returned 2 days later (during a week vacation in St. Augustine). When we returned we were greeted by name and Anne Marie (who was a big part of our returning, who unfortunately wasn't our server that evening) still found a way to make us feel at home and welcome. We sat outside and it was very nice to relax. I ordered the chicken parm, my mom ordered the lasagna. We also orders a half size garlic knots. All of our food was delicious and the portions were huge! We both enjoyed them for lunch the next day. We also ended on dessert, which was tiramisu. It was creamy and delicious! We've been wanting to check this place out for a while now. After a long walk on Crescent beach we decided today's the day. When you walk in you see a large counter/bar area where I could see people eating their meals. We walked over the the area where I saw a hostess to give her our name. She seemed very stressed out and not focused. She told us we could sit outside right away if we wanted. We told her we wanted a seat inside and she told us it would be a 20 minute wait. We happily agreed. It ended up being less than five minutes. Another server sat us at a table for two in the corner of the restaurant and said that they call this table the sweetheart table. How adorable! The menu had every Italian dish you could think of. Our waiter went over the specials of the day and even included prices which I always appreciate. We both got the soup specials. Lobster bisque and clam chowder. We also ordered a Hawaiian pizza which they make in a brick oven. Everything we ate was delicious. The soups were hot and full of delicious flavors and fresh ingredients. Definitely ask for more bread next tiThe pizza had a nice thin crispy crust good sauce and plenty of toppings. The restaurant was very loud especially at our sweetheart table in the corner where the noise seemed to intensify. Upon leaving through the back door we walked through the outside seating area which to our surprise had a central heater and was nice and quiet. Wonderful Italian restaurant with great food.
