We fell in love with this place. We read the reviews and thought we'd give it a chance. The tasting room has so much charm. The wine steward was lovely. Everyone wine we tried was really enjoyable. It's got a great mix. If you love a frozen wine slush on a hot day, this place is great. If you like wines with more body and character, this place is for you too. It was a very pleasant surprise. Wonderful service and wines. They didn't rush us and it was nice for our son to get to play some of the games. Will definitely come back!

This place was really rustic and intimate. We celebrated a Birthday on a Saturday night and Ben went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our evening. I did the tasting since I never know what to order. The owner was very helpful and informative about the wines. It truly was a great experience for someone who isn't a regular wine drinker. The rest of our group who drink wine often loved the wine selection, it seemed like there was something for everyone. I would highly recommend this place for gathering, girls night out, birthdays, date nights or just a glass of wine after a busy day!

I went to the new tasting room on Vista Vicente and loved it. Not only is the wine delicious but the vibes are immaculate. A victorian chic room which is picture perfect and a great spot to sit with friends and enjoy good conversations and good wine.

We came to Ramona for a Sunday drive and we enjoy the views from this area so much. This winery is not one of the typical overly decorated and somewhat pretentious places. It's charming in its simplicity (see the photo of the converted shipping van which doubles as the tasting room). It seems like the money is being spent on the grapes and machinery/harvest which pays off in the flavor of the wine. We tried the sampler and took home a bottle of the Ramona Red which was my favorite. Our server, Cato was helpful and let us sit outside and enjoy the scenery as long as we wanted which we appreciated because the views are stunning. Come, relax and enjoy. read more

Need a break from city life? Now this wine tasting room is undoubtedly one of the most peaceful, classy and memorable spots! My partner and I came for our anniversary and the server, Cato, made us feel like family. She celebrated our time together by giving us great recommendations and attentive service. The merlot had delicious notes of honeysuckle, and the chardonnay slushee is a MUST try. The entire place maintains a lovely summer breeze and is shaded. Just discovered a new oasis.... I can't believe I didn't know about this place until recently. What an adorable winery in downtown Ramona that's both rustic and chic, and also very welcoming. This would be a fantastic place to kick off a date night or just lounge during cruise night, or even admire the lights on main street around the holidays. It's such a different vibe from the sprawling acres and outdoors of other local wineries, but in a totally awesome way! Definitely stop in here if you are nearby. You can't go wrong with this place :) read more

Wow front start to finish, from vista to detail, this is a special place. Curated and loving and all the while executed at a level you should pay way more for. I have never had an oaked chardonnay from California I liked but the minerality and acid cut through it like a well balanced Burgundy. Also tried the rose which was almost better, lean and clean with plenty of punch. The staff were absolutely wonderful, clearly well informed, passionate about their fare, and just all around warm and welcoming. In a world of Instagram and trends, it's so nice to find genuine places like this. Hidden gem for sure!!! read more

This place is a hidden gem. I live in the area and am a wine club member at a number of the wineries in Ramona. This winery has it all: great wine, nice people, and a wonderfully charming tasting room and sitting area with amazing views of the Valley. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

1st time visiting. They moved here to their new tasting room. It's a cute tasting room located off Old Julian Hwy. The entrance needs a good sign. Once you find it, there's a very narrow road and plenty of parking on your right. Needs to be cleaned out of the weeds and grass needs mowing. Other than that, I think this tasting room has potential. They usually set out nice looking umbrellas and once you're there, you feel welcome. Certainly Cato makes it her highest priority to provide you with enough information about the wines and the grapes. The tasting room is very quaint with pleasant music playing in the background to help enjoy your wine tasting experience. They serve Rose, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cab and Petite Syrah. My faves were their Chardonnay and their Petite Syrah. Chardonnay is fruity and crisp. The Petite Syrah is bold and nice for a full body wine. They charge $15 for their tasting which I think is a bargain for the # of wines they let you taste. Their prices are a little high ($30-$45) but in the end you'll make up your own opinion. All in all, I think I'll be back. read more

Don't let this one get past you. Definitely well worth a visit. Spent the evening at Vina Ramona with my "Tribe" and we'll be back next week. Amazing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. I read other reviews talking about the Zinfandel so can't wait to try it. We ordered food from Ramona Family Naturals and we're blown away by the Pesto Roasted Veggie Pizza. Ah....Maz...ing. Service was stellar, the place very homey feeling. read more

The cutest wine bar/tasting room right in the heart of Ramona! We went on a Friday night and caught live music, and the wine itself (we tried a white & a rosé) was delicious- we took an extra bottle home with us. Such a great tasting room! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the people are knowledgeable and friendly. This is a wonderful, low-key spot to enjoy some high-quality Ramona wine. I did a tasting and ended up leaving with a couple bottles. The tasting is free if you buy a bottle, by the way . I will be coming back regularly, for sure. read more

Hillary started us off with '22 Chardonnay Paso Robles AVA that was perfect! For the reds we chose a '20 Estate Tannat, the '22 Montepulciano, the '21 Merlot, and two bottles of the 10 year French Oak Barrels Indulge. We chose to share the tasting (full disclosure, I did much of the tasting) and we went down their list of white and reds. I'm a white lover generally , but these reds were SO good that we chose five of them along with the white. There's a small, but comfortable area inside by a stone fireplace, as well as a nice deck in front offering the wonderful views of the vineyards and surrounding hills. They even have a cave, however it's not open to the public (at least as of our last visit). WINES: Andy (owner/winemaker) poured for us and provides good service and nice insight on his wines and vineyard. One tasting fee is waived with one bottle purchase, as Andy's motto is "We want to sell wines, not tastings". Chuparosa offers mostly Italian, French, and some Spanish varietals (Albariño, Grenache Gris, Mourvèdre/Grenache Rosè, Sangiovese, Cab Franc, and Zinfandel) and in my opinion they're all well-made, elegant wines, some of the best in the region. Chuparosa is a "must visit" winery when in the Ramona wine country.

I like going to drive-in I love the privacy and quietness in my vehicle. There are lots of places to grab a bite or drink -- coffee, smoothies, yogurt, mexican food, argentine food, subs, sushi and pizza (you can actually watch the show while eating pizza on their patio). They show feature movies on the weekend and during the week old tv shows, cartoons, and seasonal stuff. It runs from sundown until around 10 or 11pm every day of the year. It can be a little hard to find, but if you can locate LA Fitness or Old Spaghetti Factory, you're getting warmer. It's nestled between Pizza Nova and Ryan Bros Coffee. Lots of free parking. They've also hosted the annual San Marcos Student Film Festival 2 years running, which is usually in June, and again free to the public. The only reason for the lack of 5 stars is that it is COLD in the winter, and WET when its rainy ...not that there's a real solution to that, other than a blanket and an umbrella.... Expect kids running around, outdoor noise from cars and conversation, but its all part of the fun. Did I mention its all FREE?

(The Friday movies tend to be older/more obscure). It's right in the middle of a bunch of restaurants and there's a fire pit if you get cold. Though not "pristine" movie viewing conditions, it's free and its outdoors and did I mention it's Free?. A rad way to spend a few hours some Saturday night taking in a flick. Bring your own blanket (and chair if you've got one, seating can be limited) and re-live the golden age of drive ins, that you probably weren't alive for in the first place.

While visiting my son during Thanksgiving , we stopped in to this tasting room. What a pleasant surprise! I have had the pleasure to visit a number of the tasting rooms in the Ramona Valley over the past several years and Vina Ramona is a new favorite. The site is beautiful with gorgeous views across the valley and Adirondack chairs set out to enjoy those views. The tasting room itself is housed in an antique truck trailer with an extremely charming and cozy interior artfully decorated with a mix of antiques and interesting pieces. Now to the wine. We tasted a wonderful red blend that was delicious. The combination of location, decor, friendly service, and the wine makes this a place I recommend and will visit again the next time I am in Ramona. read more

It's nice to have another tasting room in Ramona! Really good wines served in nice crystal glasses. I can't tell you how many times I've done a tasting in cheap wine glasses and wonder why anyone trying to sell their wines wouldn't use a proper wine glass. These Owners get it and they are very friendly and informative. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Right now they are only open on Saturdays but hopefully they will be open more days soon. What a great night! We popped in to Vina Ramona on the tree lighting night and didn't know quite what to expect and were blown away! The service was incredible and the wine was excellent.
