I absolutely love Barrel 1 Winery. The wines are superb and Audrey, the owner is absolutely wonderful. If you are looking for a local winery with excellent quality wines, Barrel 1 is the place your may have been searching for. I love their Viognier, Canelli, Tempranillo Rose, Merlot and many others. Not only the wines are consistently excellent from one vintage to another, but the service is beyond great. Every time we visit Barrel 1 we are treated as family. Our last visit was right before harvest and the estate vineyard looked just beautiful. The winery is very nice and there is always a cool breeze in the tasting area. It is located close to the 78 hwy. and it easy to find. Please do yourself a favor and visit Barrel 1 Winery next time you are in Ramona.

    Our purchases: 2016 & 2017 Viognier, and 2017 & 2018 Tempranillo Rosé.

Another fantastic experience at Barrel 1 last weekend. The owner, Audrey, and her family are the most wonderful hosts, and their wines are some of our favorites. They offer 6 tastings of their Estate grown wines for $15. They're not currently serving munchies, but you're free to bring your own. The wines are easy drinking, but with full flavors. We really like their Merlots ('15, '16, and '18), enjoyed the two newish 2018 Rosés, the 2016 Canelli, but my all-time favorite is their 2017 Viognier (a little smokey, like a mellow mezcal). If you're lucky, there might be a few other bottles open that aren't on the tasting menu and you might get to try them as well. Wine tasting can be very subjective however service is not. In our opinion, Barrel 1 is one of the best wineries in San Diego County and we highly recommend you give them a try.

The owner Audrey set up the most beautiful area for my 50th birthday celebration. She didn't miss a detail. Laurie was there to pour wines for me and my guests. She was so knowledgeable about all the wines and made great suggestions. I highly recommend this place. Wonderful wine, spectacular scenery and friendly faces. Thank you for everything.

I brought my mom out here for Mother's Day and we had the best time. We enjoyed all the wine offerings, the view, and most of all the lovely couple pouring behind the bar. We had so much fun talking to the staff, we didn't want to leave! A great spot for a day with the girls or a romantic afternoon as they cater to adults.

Winery in Ramona! Cool vibe pretty place... and order from Graced by charcuterie.

It's a nice vibe! Good winery that has 14 acres and 8 acres of wine vines. Only vineyard with volcano dirt.

Was in town for the weekend & found this place on google. Barrel 1 did not disappoint!! We went on a Sunday & luckily it was not crowded. They have a small but very nice & scenic outdoor patio with good music & umbrellas. The owners Tom & Audrey are super nice & friendly!! They have a diverse selection of wines & they are all delicious which made it hard to pick the bottles we wanted. We went with the Cab, the Tempranillo, & the Viognier. If you're in Ramona, treat yourself to tasting here!!

My favorite on our tour so far, we stopped here on our way from the wild animal park. They have a beautiful property, super friendly and welcoming. They have a nice patio and a beautiful yard with chairs. Their wine was my favorite, I don't usually like white but their whites were very good. My favorite was the cab. They gave us olives from their propert which were delicious. The vibe here is nice and has a beautiful view would def recommend

If you're in the area looking for a wineries to go to, put this one on your list! Intimate atmosphere run by the family themselves. Just a few tables overlooking a beautiful landscape. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating to our group of 7. The $15 tasting flight is a steal!

My grandma and I came here a few weeks back and had such a pleasant experience. The owner was awesome and her niece. We were greeted by the big dog who may startle you with his size but he just wanted love. We brought a salad and dessert and bought a few glasses of wine after our tasting. The wine didn't disappoint. Make the trip, try the wine.

    Lovely outdoor patio.

Beautiful small winery. Pleasant outside seating. Like all the Romona wines, this winery featured dry wines. I did like a voigny (?) White. Good nose and a bit buttery. The hostess was friendly and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere.

That said, the owner, Andy, was so gracious and welcoming that we genuinely want to see him succeed; it feels only right to spread the word. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. We left with two bottles of wine--despite usually preferring reds, we couldn't pass up both the Albarino and the Sangiovese. One tip: double-check your route on Google Maps before heading over. Just a heads-up--it's not the dirt road!

There's a small, but comfortable area inside by a stone fireplace, as well as a nice deck in front offering the wonderful views of the vineyards and surrounding hills. They even have a cave, however it's not open to the public (at least as of our last visit). WINES: Andy (owner/winemaker) poured for us and provides good service and nice insight on his wines and vineyard. One tasting fee is waived with one bottle purchase, as Andy's motto is "We want to sell wines, not tastings". Chuparosa offers mostly Italian, French, and some Spanish varietals (Albariño, Grenache Gris, Mourvèdre/Grenache Rosè, Sangiovese, Cab Franc, and Zinfandel) and in my opinion they're all well-made, elegant wines, some of the best in the region. Chuparosa is a "must visit" winery when in the Ramona wine country.

Called 20+ Vineyard and put my requirements and was chose Crystal hill as my choice, I am so glad I made that decision. Best wine, amazing scenery, very private, kid friendly, pet friendly most of all sweetest Staff you will ever find. This is the best winery of Ramona by far and exactly what we were looking for. The view is stunning and beautiful view, atmosphere is very relaxing. Wine choices we were excellent, Excellent wine, especially the whiskey barrel wines! Wine Choices: We initially ordered wine flights, double and singles an we choose the below bottles from there. 1. 2016 Stone Lake Merlot 2. 2016 Whiskey Stone Lake Merlot 3. 2019 Malbec Rose 4. 2017 Whiskey Rose They even have food; their flatbread is amazing too. The Staff and owners were very nice, as we were having good time Scott the owner took the kids, around 10 of them to a short hike and showed them around the property and vineyard, kids had good time while adults were drinking up. Meanwhile Kristy engaged the smaller kids. It was all fun and everyone had fun. Special kudos to the lovely bartenders.
