This is a nice winery with beautiful views of the valley below and big boulders around. They have a large covered patio with many seatings which I've attended a pumpkin decorating even in the past. I thought their wines were ok. A friend tried their sangria flight and liked that so I might have to try that next time I return. The staff has been nice and friendly every time we've been there. They usually have artisans selling their arts and crafts when we come which is nice. read more

I never leave reviews but found it necessary to do so today after my experience visiting Turtle Rock Ridge. My friend and I visited this afternoon. We were so excited to try this local winery. Upon arrival we were met by a server who spoke to us in a very condescending and I would say -racist- manner. It seemed as though she assumed we did not speak English proficiently based on her slapping the counter near the sign that said 'order here' and annunciating the sign slowly to us. We had just arrived and were new to the winery. She later made a comment assuming we had never been wine tasting before. At that point we both made the decision that this winery was not a welcoming place to visit as two women of color. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful place would offer such disrespectful service. I was pretty disappointed in Turtle Rock. The venue is great! But a few notes of feedback: - Why do they have tortoise references everywhere when the business is called turtle rock? - Most the ones tasted sour! Quick visit to another local winery. This time Turtle Rock Ridge Vineyard Winery. TRR came to fruition after the devastation of the 2007 Witch Creek wildfire. While growing grapes had always been an idea, now the land and space was cleared in order to make it a reality. For years the owners had studied different varieties of grapes and what would thrive in the Ramona Valley. TRR is situated along Vista Ramona Rd and is fairly easy to find. Tasting area is huge with ample, comfortable seating. All shaded during the evening hours. They are clearly setup to handle larger groups and a multitude of visitors. I will say, not the most breathtaking views compared to other wineries in the area. I did appreciate their more flexible tasting options. $6 for 3 tastes, or $12 for 6 tastes. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to drive out to Ramon to do some wine tastings to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We typically go to Temecula but wanted to try out Ramona. We found this place a week before our visit and online it says they do wine tours, my boyfriend spoke with the owner who said no reservations are needed. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who mentioned that her husband tends to tell people no redo's are needed but that is not the case. Either way she let us pick where we wanted to sit and asked her husband what his schedule looked like to see if he had some time for a tour. We ordered the wine flights, which is presented in shot glasses on a board and then given a glass to pour them into. Of the 6 wines I tried the sangrias were my fav! They're known for their sangria slushees which we didn't try this time but sounded delish. We then saw they had an option for charcuterie cheese and deli meats. We ordered that and was a bit surprised to see everything was packaged do it yourself kind of thing. No complaints on taste as it tasted good but presentation could be better. We did end up taking a tour with the owner and go to try one of their cabs out of the barrel, so good! It's cute little spot to have a good drink and pretty view. It was nice and sunny out with a cool breeze so felt great. read more

This vineyard has a special place in my heart. It was the first vineyard we went to when we first moved out here to Ramona. Ian and Laurie are amazing and have done such a beautiful job keeping the vineyard so warm and inviting. The wine is delicious, try them all, they will not disappoint! My favorites are Hello Gorgeous, Hello Sexy, and Hello Juicy Sangria. As you can tell I'm a red wine drinker but try them all they will not disappoint! Bring a picnic and enjoy a flight or a bottle and make some new friends and bring some along. The view is beautiful and you're sure to meet some new friends and you'll want to come back as everyone is friendly and welcoming. It is a dog friendly venue so bring along your little furry friend. Turtle Ridge is awesome. We became frequent visitors over the last year. Their wine selection is great as are the slushies, perfect for a hot day. We also enjoy shopping from the local artisans whether it's jewelery, baked goods, or holiday decorations. The staff is great, and always happy to engage in conversation whenever we have any questions. If you're lucky they might have live music which is truly a cherry on top for ours. The only down fall is they don't serve food and or host food trucks like other wineries. They do have smaller cheese plates with crackers, very basic, bit definitely better than nothing. So I had come here once before and loved it. Well, thought I'd bring friends this time. Not the same, great experience. I understand they didn't take reservations but we had a party of 5 to celebrate a bday, wanted to do the wine stomp, and knew the weather was going to be rainy. Thus, I wanted to ensure we had a table when we visited. The person whom I talked to on the phone understood and took my name down. Well, when we got there, of course, it had poured, and no seating. We weren't greeted at the entrance even though the signs says, please wait to be seated. After 5 minutes, we walked in... There were no seats available, of course was my concern initially, and then when we talked to the server who checked us in, she was helpless and passive aggressive. She said they don't take reservations and walked away. So we stood around for quite some time; some of our party members wanted to leave, but we drove all this way and had a great experience last time so I convinced them to stay. Well, that was a mistake. Not sure if the stormy weather ruined their customer service skills but we weren't given a menu to look at. Had to go find one. Didn't want to pour us splashes of some reds we were trying to decide between. Thing is, with 5 people, and slightly different taste buds, does it hurt to give one tiny splash per wine of interest in order to help us decide on a bottle of what we will enjoy?! It doesn't! However, I felt like we were inconveniencing them. So, I was told why don't we get a tasting flight, and then if we get 2 bottles, it would waive the tasting fee. WELL, I don't want a flight or have to sit through that experience because we just wanted bottles to share. The boldest reds she recommended tasted like balsamic vinegar. Since she gave us only 2 reds to try (out of the 4 of interest), we couldn't decide on a bottle because both options weren't good. Honestly, after the multiple negative encounters, we opted to each get a sangria and get out of there. I was incredibly sad because I had brought friends here and it wasn't the experience I want for them. We honestly should've left and not give our business, but they had an amazing couple singing for entertainment and the wine stomp. So, not sure how I feel about this place after this most recent visit. Guess there are more wineries in Ramona to experience. We visited Grant James next had a much more pleasant experience there... With servers who greeted us and have us all the splashes we wanted to try before buying 3 bottles. read more

The most gracious winemaker and so generous with his time shared his love of wine with my family. His sangria slushees are dangerous! They're so yummy and easy to drink but 14% alcohol. Flights of 6 wines are $18 and $20 for premium wines. Bonus is they're open later than all the other wineries. read more

This place is beautiful very cute and great views! We went here on Valentine's Day and expected a crazy wait for a holiday, surprisingly they were able to accommodate us and were super friendly! I loved how it was very minimal contact. You pay for your samples at the front and take them back to your table. You get them all at once so no one was coming back and forth. When you're done you leave, extremely minimizing contact. It was outdoors so it felt very safe and we got so lucky we even got to catch some of the live music that day! Such a fun and lively place. Times of COVID make everything very different. I get it. Trying to have some 'normal' we decided to have a wine tasting day. Just picked a place... I called, got the run down of the new rules, etc... we showed up, were kind of greeted, but the lady seemed a little frazzled or just annoyed. She asked if we had a reservation, told her no - but we had just called... She kind of explained what the options were... so we found a table. I picked some wines for a tasting, and my boyfriend got a glass. They were in small little plastic cups in a cardboard take out French fry container - totally fine, COVID... there was literally no interaction. No explanation of any of the wines, no asking how we were doing - completely ignored us. The wines were fine, nothing absolutely amazing. If there was just a little acknowledgement, I think the experience would have been different. (Also - we were the only two people there the entire hour we were there) The space was beautiful. read more

We love going to Turtle Rock!!! The atmosphere is very inviting and beautiful. Weather you want to host a event or just go to enjoy good wine and good friends, this winery hands down is amazing. They offer a wide variety of wines, wine slushees and incredible sangria's. They do allow you to bring in your own munchies or they do have a cheese ball and cracker plate for purchase. The staff are all wonderful people who make you feel like family. The location and the views are beautiful. Very easy access and plenty of parking. This place has a gorgeous view, and is worth a visit for this alone. The patio overlooks a canyon, and is framed by bougainvillea. The staff was friendly, and the wine was pretty good. It is well worth it to spend approximately $30 on a bottle to share while enjoying the scenery. We shared a bottle of a crisp white and also enjoyed their chardonnay. The only drawback might be the transportation involved in getting here. We had no problem getting an Uber here in the late afternoon (around 4:00 p.m.), but could not get any Ubers to pick us up when we tried to leave around 5:30 p.m. or so. We ended up catching a ride with a friend of the bartender to our next location - hey, you gotta be resourceful. read more

A beautiful setting, which included a sweet dog. The wines were good. It took a long time to get waited on and that was after two people told us they would be right with us. We did notice one male employee was spending a lot of time, with one table, and in the midst of it, the owner (we assumed) interrupted him and had him move a bucket, that was near our table. It took a while between pours. We had a nice view and friends, to talk to. They seem to have a steady flow of customers, so that's good. read more

Wonderful views and a great atmosphere. The staff is very kind and is very knowledgable. The winery has a grill and large table area to bring in your on food. The sangria from the sin is great. The only dislike would have been the tempranillo wine as it taste pretty bad BUT as the server did say, you either love it or hate it. The two dogs are so cute! read more

Decided to come here first since they were the first to open in the region and had good reviews on Yelp! They did not disappoint. Were first were greeted by a super friendly dog! She was the sweetest loving dog ever (I swear she will just warm your soul up!) After that we walked out to the patio which had amazing views. Lots of seating with umbrella shading or you had the option to sit inside. The owners and workers were extremely friendly, sharing life stories with us and meanings behind the wine names.
