    Meditation labyrinth

Wonderful winery in Ramona, California! I had the best wine and chat with Elaine Lyttleton, winemaker, at Hatfield Creek Vineyards and Winery! She is a wealth of knowledge and makes delicious, award-winning wines. We were able to park our RV right near the vineyard and enjoyed the collection of Pacific North West First Nations Art, Love-Love Tree, and walked the meditation labyrinth. The best Petit Syrah and wines! Great chat with Norm and saw his museum. Eddie was the best wine server! Loved the ambiance. #harvesthost

The Mrs. and I stopped by Hatfield Creek Winery yesterday on what was the first of two wineries we planned to visit that day. The winery didn't open until 11. We arrived around 10:40 a.m. and hung out on the patio until Eddie came out of the tasting room to say he was ready for us. Th tasting room is a fairly large space with a small bar at one end and the rest of the room is decorated with antique furniture. Or what I perceive to be antique furniture. There are two other structures on the property. One being the home of Norm and Elaine who own the winery and another larger structure that houses a small museum and Norm's woodworking shop. All three of these structures surround a large patio area. A beautiful setting for enjoying a glass of wine. Red and white Sangria are offered as well. Eddie poured for us and was so nice. The tasting menu consisted of one white, a Viognier, and the rest were reds. The tasting fee was $12 for four tastes. Very reasonable compared to other wineries in the area. The red wines were on the younger side. We tasted the: 2019 Estate Zinfandel(Sold out. I bought the last bottle.) 2020 Sangiovese 2019 Estate Fonzi Field Blend 2020 Three Goddesses All four wines were really good and well balanced. I am constantly impressed by the wine in the Ramona AVA. I ended up purchasing the Zinfandel, Fonzi Field Blend, and Three Goddesses. I think I'm going to try to hold the Zinfandel for a bit to see how it ages. While enjoying our wine under the shade of a large tree on the patio. St. Francis of Assisi graced us with his presence. Not literally of course, but in the form of a statue. We were also graced with the presence of Clifford the winery cat. A very friendly feline who wanted to be involved in our wine tasting experience. I read a review from a fellow Yelper who began his review with the term NOT KID FRIENDLY. To that end, there is a sign clearly posted outside the tasting room that says no persons under 21 allowed. Not all wineries are meant to be kid friendly. Believe me, I have a kid so I'm well aware of the extent to which wineries are "kid friendly".

We were heading back home from a long weekend and decided to extend our stay another night and lucked out that Hatfield Creek was willing to host our RV through Harvest Hosts. The winery is beautiful and we parked so we had a stunning view of the vineyard. The leaves were turning and it was so colorful! The owners and staff were friendly and welcomed us and our two dogs onto their property. We enjoyed the wine tasting, chatting with Eddie and other customers. They even let us use their lovely fire pit in the evening. Overall this place is a gem with delicious wine and should be a stop on your next adventure.

    Wonderful, award-winning reds.

Stopped-in to do some tasting on the recommendation of a fellow red-wine lover. There's plenty of parking and the tasting room is awesome, with lots of Ramona memorabilia to look at while you taste. Juliana was a wonderfully, gracious hostess. She explained each wine, local or estate grapes, flavors, pairings, etc. The wines were very tasty, especially the 2015 and 2016 Syrah. The tastings and wines are reasonably priced. I would recommend making Hatfield Creek a stop the next time you're in Ramona.

This place is like a house in a garage with the style and decor. They offer a wall of games and even adult coloring books that I enjoyed during our tastings. They also have a dessert wine that will blow your mind!! We walked away with a bottle of the BonBon! However for both my husband and I, we were in love with the Zin and came home with 3 bottles! The place is ran by pleasant ladies that just like to laugh and drink wine! Stop by and you will not be disappointed!

Since they didn't have a big seating area or menu options we had to find somewhere else to eat. They had a small counter with limited wine choices. Small family feel with ample parking on the dirt lot.

They have some excellent wines. Beautiful yard area and place to relax. Due to Covid, we had flights instead of tastings. Elaine was a great host.

Enjoyed a wonderful morning in this quaint picnic setting in the vines.

Thank you Hatfield Creek Winery, again. Still enjoying the wonderful reserve that we stocked up on. On yet another hot summer night, the Fonzi Field Blend makes everything alright!

They have unique wines infused in whiskey barrels. I had their Chardonnay which had a slight taste of whiskey in it but I thought it was pretty good. I also tried their pepperoni and sausage flat bread which also was pretty tasty. We were greeted by "Whiskey" the cat and as we were told apparently he was a stray and greets everyone as they arrive which was cute. They have misters which helped a lot with the heat.

Called 20+ Vineyard and put my requirements and was chose Crystal hill as my choice, I am so glad I made that decision. Best wine, amazing scenery, very private, kid friendly, pet friendly most of all sweetest Staff you will ever find. This is the best winery of Ramona by far and exactly what we were looking for. The view is stunning and beautiful view, atmosphere is very relaxing. Wine choices we were excellent, Excellent wine, especially the whiskey barrel wines! Wine Choices: We initially ordered wine flights, double and singles an we choose the below bottles from there. 1. 2016 Stone Lake Merlot 2. 2016 Whiskey Stone Lake Merlot 3. 2019 Malbec Rose 4. 2017 Whiskey Rose They even have food; their flatbread is amazing too. The Staff and owners were very nice, as we were having good time Scott the owner took the kids, around 10 of them to a short hike and showed them around the property and vineyard, kids had good time while adults were drinking up. Meanwhile Kristy engaged the smaller kids. It was all fun and everyone had fun. Special kudos to the lovely bartenders. If you are looking for great wines, amazing views, comfortable atmosphere, great staff, kid friendly, pet friendly, this is the place. We are going back soon

That said, the owner, Andy, was so gracious and welcoming that we genuinely want to see him succeed; it feels only right to spread the word. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. We left with two bottles of wine--despite usually preferring reds, we couldn't pass up both the Albarino and the Sangiovese. One tip: double-check your route on Google Maps before heading over. There's a small, but comfortable area inside by a stone fireplace, as well as a nice deck in front offering the wonderful views of the vineyards and surrounding hills. They even have a cave, however it's not open to the public (at least as of our last visit). WINES: Andy (owner/winemaker) poured for us and provides good service and nice insight on his wines and vineyard. One tasting fee is waived with one bottle purchase, as Andy's motto is "We want to sell wines, not tastings". Chuparosa offers mostly Italian, French, and some Spanish varietals (Albariño, Grenache Gris, Mourvèdre/Grenache Rosè, Sangiovese, Cab Franc, and Zinfandel) and in my opinion they're all well-made, elegant wines, some of the best in the region. Chuparosa is a "must visit" winery when in the Ramona wine country.
