Inside is cute and stylish, while outside you'll find a huge shaded deck with the bar as the centerpiece. There's plenty of seating, and the whole property feels designed for relaxing and spending a few hours with friends. The winery offers table service, and the servers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and menu. They have snacks like chips and charcuterie, but during our visit they also had a Peruvian food truck pop‑up, and wow -- it was amazing. The food smelled so good we had to try it, and it absolutely delivered. We ordered the steak with chimichurri and Yukon potatoes, and I'm already looking forward to having it again. The chef was also incredibly kind and personally brought out our food. And of course, the wine was excellent. A beautiful winery with a welcoming atmosphere, great service, and plenty of space to spread out. Definitely worth a visit if you're exploring Escondido wine country.

There are two parking lots that we saw, one closer to the bottom which was gravel but would require a walk up two flights of stairs, or there's a lot closer to the tasting room (paved) but is more limited. We were able to snag a spot up at the top luckily. They have a two sample limit & then you can buy drinks by the bottle or glass. The day we went they were having a 25% off bottle sale. There was only one employee we saw during the entirety of our visit but he was super friendly. We ordered a bottle, the charcuterie platter and a pizza. The charcuterie board is refrigerated and they provide a bag of crackers as well. We went with the veggie pizza & it took maybe 20 minutes to come out and was absolutely delicious. The grounds themselves are absolutely gorgeous. There are 3 covered areas to sit at up top with plenty of seating. Down the first flight of stairs has a fish pond and some beautiful areas to walk around. I'm not sure if that area was where they do weddings as there was also a spot across the way with a dais, but we didn't make it over there. The wine was delicious! We tried two of the whites and the sweet rosé. I'm not normally a rosé fan, but it was my favorite wine I had there. Overall we had a really relaxing time with beautiful views. I highly recommend checking out Sunshine Mountain Vineyard.

They also have a restaurant on site that opens at noon and host trivia nights, which sounds like a fun excuse to come back. As a dog lover, I especially appreciated how dog‑friendly they are. They even have a resident winery dog named Pinot! I didn't get to meet him during my visit, but he apparently has his own little play area inside, which is adorable. The wine was good. I was wrong. It's not far off the 15 freeway in a small unassuming neighborhood. If you didn't know it was there you would never discover it. We arrived and took the last spot in the front parking lot. There is another parking lot, it seems like there's plenty of parking around. We found our party in a courtyard next to the tasting room. There was plenty of seating and tables for everyone, and it was sectioned off from the rest (if you need a private area). We went in the tasting room and tasted several wines before deciding. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their wines. After we got our wine, we decided to walk the property. It's a very quaint, unique piece of property with old buildings and new ones made to look old (bathrooms). You can walk through the vineyards and there are various areas where you could have parties. There is a barn, which is beautifully decorated and lit inside. It would be perfect for a wedding reception or any other type of party. There are several areas where you could put multiple groups of people or use the whole facility for a giant party. When we were there, there was live music. The band was really good and we enjoyed sitting under the umbrellas and trees while listening. There was also a pizza food truck whilst we were there. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and they delivered it to where we were sitting. I shared it and we all enjoyed a slice. I can't believe I didn't know this existed here before, but I'm so glad to have discovered it. I will definitely come back and bring friends. It's just the perfect little spot to spend some time. You will get two different parking lots here. Just keep in mind, Bella Marie does host campers & trailers to use the parking lot, overnight. Luckily when we booked our date/ time for the event- some of our bikes arrived half an hour earlier of opening time & this gave us time to scope out the parking situation. We were luckily enough to get the spots we wanted. My friend & I came to Bella Marie about 6 weeks prior to our event date to check out the grounds & see what Bella Marie offered guests. The upper parking lot, adjacent to the retail store & restroom is also where we reserved our event location. The store offers pre made picnic baskets, a wide selection of mini charcuterie kits, & sundries. Bottled water, juices, etc. We booked for 10 people & we're told it'd be a $50 deposit & that specific group size would need to purchase 6 bottles. On the day of our event, our $50 deposit would be applied to 2 bottles of wine. We kept our price range on the lower price end, for the group. We were told on the day of our booking- outside food is also allowed. Which is very convenient for guests, since there is no kitchen serving meals. I believe this is such a great idea, which would make me return to just another event. On the day of our event, we had less than 10 gals (including me). And two of our guests purchased a flight of wine each. Another of our gals made it very clear she didn't care for wine - but, wanted to buy her mother a bottle. But, this friend was also at the counter helping us decide which bottles to choose for our group. She was a fan of Aprepos and actually bought a bottle for herself! LOL. Ice is also available to cool down your glass of wi Aprepos & Meowvasia were popular amongst our group. Location is close to i -15.
