Inns Breakfast
Christian R.

I came to Village Inn during a recent visit to El Paso. I grew up coming here with my family and generally enjoyed it. It was a Sunday early afternoon, around 12, and it wasn't crazy busy. We were able to get sat right away. Our server was very nice and attentive throughout the whole meal, which we appreciated. The seating at most restaurants is well spread-out with a mix of booths and tables. My go-to is the "Inn's Breakfast": Hash browns, ham, bacon, Swiss & American Cheese topped with two scrambled eggs with a side of pancakes. I always enjoy the combination of all of the ingredients in this dish, especially topped with the melted cheese. This time around I just didn't enjoy it as much--there was WAYYYY too much hash browns, and unfortunately they didn't have any flavor, so it was like eating a layer of cardboard. You can see the excess potato in one of my pics, hopefully this isn't the new norm. Pancakes were great at least! Until next time EP!

The ultimate skillet and English muffin

The food was great! Service was impeccable! Ambiance was pleasant and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for anything! We were seated right away, our orders were ready within reason and we of course bought one of the famous Village Inn pies! Love their pies! I had the ultimate skillet with sunny side up eggs and English muffin - everything was cooked to perfection and it was tasty! My husband had the chicken fried steak, mac and cheese, and jalapeño cream soup- everything was perfect and delicious! We are definitely going back and continue to Love Village Inn!

Update 052224 Let me start by emphasizing that we are regulars of this location as others are either closed or now butter smith. On today's date, their internet went down as they were getting ready to close, and the night supervisor advised us as they were closing about the issue with their register not connecting to the internet and that they would only be taking cash. We advised them we didn't have cash on-hand, only cc. She called the GM to let him know about the issue, and our current state with regards to the form of payment. Their GM David, said we would have to go get it from an ATM at a nearby gas station in order to pay. I asked the night supervisor before heading out to get the cash, what would be discounted for the inconvenience as it wasn't our fault their system went down, to which she said she would give me "a pie for free," which I agreed was fair compensation for the trouble and inconvenience. I proceeded to go get the money from a gas station as my bank's atm is nowhere near the location. I went back and paid. The shift supervisor then asked me which pie I wanted? She came back to our table with a SLICE of pie.. My party immediately thought what kinda nonsense is this?? When comfronted about that, she replied, "we are not allowed to give a whole pie for free." Let me be clear this was not what she said originally. They made me waste my gas, time and incur an atm fee to get their money for a slice of pie. Needless to say, we didn't take the slice of pie. That would have been adding insult to injury. I will be contacting corporate about this incident, as I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears or erased by their GM David. On another note, the busboy was more understanding than the shift manager about the incident. Any other restaurant supervisor or GM would have comped our meal, given a significant discount, or actually gone through with what they said they would do to compensate for the inconvenience. It's a shame, this really wasn't about the darn pie. This had everything to do with their customer service, and how it was handled or lack thereof. Added a photo of the tab, so they won't say we were not there.

This Village Inn is following safety precautions during Covid-19. The tables were six feet apart. All of the employees were wearing masks. The employees were also nice and helpful. Dining in isn't at the top of my priority list right now. However, I am glad that this Village Inn is following safety precautions for those who are interested. I spent about 10 minutes in there. I came to this Village Inn to pick up a couple of pies to give my mom for her birthday. No big party or anything like that of course. I was baking her a cheesecake but I messed up the crust! Lol. Luckily, she said she would take a raincheck. I'm on it! :) I was thinking of buying her a cheesecake but I bought her two pies instead. Honestly, she deserves an island of them! She does a lot for me and my family. I chose French silk (a yummy chocolate pie) and a lemon meringue. She enjoyed both of them. I've tasted both of these pies in the past but I didn't have any this time. Will I come back? Oh yeah for sure! I think their pies are reasonably priced. They're around $12-13 each. Since Thanksgiving is only two days away, they'll have plenty of them for sale. You can even get one on Thanksgiving Day here! Aside from offering dine in, they're currently using Grubhub (which you can also access through Yelp) to deliver meals and pies.

Good food, the service is good, and the wait time wasn't that long, nothing was cold, and the food took not a long time. Good place!

Sandwich bread is baked in-house along with all of the incredibly fresh pastries we also enjoyed. The cinnamon role had a gorgeous crust that hid a moist inside. Cream cheese frosting was perfection. Chiapas Nutella (neglected to snap a picture) was chocolatey, buttery, and topped with fresh pecans. The cream cake was a strawberry crepe masterpiece...layer upon layer of diced strawberries and an almost-savory cream cheese filling. We were warmly greeted and immediately seduced by the lovely scent of fresh baked pastries. While indoor space is limited with only three tables, covered seating out front provided a nice space. Friendly staff brought our drinks and food out to us. We will return to this lovely place.

This small place has a nice music background perfect for working remotely, studying, or simply decompressing from the daily monotony. There is seating inside and outside. I called ahead of time because this new location has been so busy lately and the last time (on a Saturday night) the wait was over an hour that we decided to dine elsewhere. Tonight was the night! There was no wait and the staff was stellar from start to finish. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. So happy to have found a decent burger in El Paso. Who knew Black Bear would be one of the few spots! My daughter had a burger too and she said it was good. Shoot. I forgot to take a picture. That's how good it was! My kiddos ordered fish and chips, chicken tenders, and Mac and cheese meals. My little mac n cheese eater was not crazy about his. To be fair, the menu did not deceive and literally said it was Kraft Mac n cheese. I think he still expected gourmet. My hubby went with breakfast for dinner. The blueberry pancakes looked great but ended up having too many blueberries within, so he'll skip that next time. The fries were bussin' and hot. I'm looking forward to trying their patty melt next time. I can see us returning more often. My daughter says she may want to choose Black Bear for her birthday dinner as well.

I ordered the pick 2, half a sandwich, a soup, and chips. I was disappointed in the BLT! They didn't even ask if I wanted the bread toasted, and because it was soggy due to the aioli they added to it; also the big thick slices of tomato didn't help! The half of sandwich was rather small and could be finished in 3 bites. To my disappointment, the 4 bacon slices they added were cold. Seriously? You all couldn't microwave it? Chicken noodle soup was good, but that came in a small cup! Why are you all charging so much for small portions of food? Last time my soup was a good size. Someone really needs to keep those restrooms in check! They were filthy, I expect that from Applebee's or a bar! I think I'll take a break from this place.
