Chicken cordon bleu
Hannah N.

Village Baker is a favorite of mine, and this location always does a great job. It is very cute when you walk in, and they do have seating if you want to dine in. It's counter service. I normally do take out. We really like the chicken cordon bleu pizza. I love getting a pizza without red sauce. Their red sauce is good tho. I've had the pepperoni pizza and really enjoy it. Sometimes the pizza has a little more crust than I want, but I love their crust so it's okay. I've never tried them, but I've heard really good things about both their sandwiches and salads. They also have a delicious selection of pastries. I will say it is a little bit pricier especially for the pizza, but the food is good enough to splurge on!

Good food. Our group had a half turkey and provolone sandwich with the broccoli cheddar soup, buffalo chicken pizza, garlic bread and thanksgiving dinner sandwich. We enjoyed all of it. Sandwiches are rather big so I would recommend starting with a half if you are going to enjoy with a side. Decent amount of seating indoors. Very friendly staff. Plenty of parking.

We go to Village Baker quite often. I ordered a sandwich today and there was the tiniest bit of turkey on it so I asked if they weigh their meat and the manager came out and said yes we weigh our meat. We always have. It's been that way since we opened well that's funny because I've been going since 1994 when they first opened the first location in the sandwiches definitely have gone downhill. There is a picture on their yelp of a sandwich from five years ago and this turkey on it is three times as much as what I got today. If the manager said that it's still the same and they've been putting the same amount on that's wrong. My sandwich barely had any meat on it.

The best comfort sandwiches. Half a sandwich is the size of my face and the bread is cut so thick but it's so fluffy it compresses right down to a perfect meat-to-bread ratio. Such flavorful bread with perfect sandwich texture! Their salads are also delish. We love ordering these for delivery after a long hard day.

Village Baker's honey rye bread is the bread of my dreams. I've never been able to find another version that matches the VB quality. It used to be called, "squaw bread" but now I just call it, "the Lord's bread." The customer service at this location wasn't terrible. And the tables and chairs were very clean. But I swear Village Baker sandwiches used to be more hearty. I would always order half a sandwich because they were packed with so much meat, cheese, and toppings that a half could satisfy my large appetite. Maybe I'm remembering wrong. Either way, I obviously can't stay away as long as the honey rye is still on the menu.

Went to get some chicken noodle soup. I ordered a cup to go. When I got home and opened the soup there was no broth. It seems like they boiled the soup dry.

My husband and I were hungry and it was around 1pm today, there were 2 people in the pickup order line then 3 of us in the walk in line, they totally ignored us until this young man came up and started taking orders because after the pickup order that lady left the front end. Then we ordered half sandwich half soup I got the turkey avocado but substituted it with pepper jack cheese and cheese broccoli soup my husband ordered BLT with the chicken rice soup. There was so much bread we had to take the bottom half off and eat it like that. It was very plain and dry and I have been to Village Baker plenty of other times and it just seems like they're not trying as hard. The rice soup was in flavorful. Oh also we said TO GO, the guy taking our order even said TOGO right and we said yes, A VERY RUDE lady that was in street clothes (black pants, red shirt and a tan throw over, hair was brown in a ponytail with a black ribbon) brought out our food on plates and then I said our order was TOGO she walks off and I went up as well saying that she forgot our 2 cookies (that was in the back in the freezer) Then she snapped at me saying that this ain't my order, who cares, I just wanted to remind you. Then the guy who took our order brought out our order. I wish I knew his name because he was really nice but the lady on the other hand was very rude and unprofessional and DON'T have any customer service experience! If she was in her regular clothes that makes me wonder if she was part of the management if so, that's really SAD! Management Should set an example they should be wearing a uniform like everyone else. Needless to say I will not be back to this location! Do better and clean the tables when the customers leave. PS the cookies were dry and disgusting!

The service is very helpful and friendly even if you don't speak Spanish or don't know what to get. There is a separate seated area to sit down and order food or a walk up bakery to grab food to go. I've done both and the seated area is pretty quiet and nice to sit, eat and talk. The food never takes too long to come out which I appreciate and it is always so good. Think home made flavors. Portion sizes are always worth the prices as well. Highly recommend!

Oh dang, I was not disappointed at all. The case of baked goods looked so good. Fruit filled turnovers with guava, huge almond croissants and plain croissants. I got one of each, and though I just had lunch, I ate all three of the delicious baked goods without. The hour and washed it back with a cappuccino. The young lady helping us was very engaging truly provide caring service as we made up our minds what not to get... this trip. I will definitely make this a go to for the next time I want baked snacks and coffee. There is also a sit down restaurant that serves steaks!!! This place was busy this Saturday morning Enjoys this gem!

We go in, I ask for an Almond Croissant, expecting the size you see at other places, then inquire about something like ham and cheese, yep, so asked for one, and a Cappuccino. It'd be a few minutes for the ham and cheese, but they box up my wife's two slices of bread and my other croissant and we wait. Heading for the freeway I open the bag and start on my savory croissant. A half hour later and I ask for the Almost Croissant. "OMG... They are too pretty to eat, I have to take a picture first!" She hands me the largest Almond Croissant I have ever seen! The flavor was as imlressive as the size. Next time we are n the area, we are definitely going back, but I'll only get the Almond Croissant, it's all I'll need!

Ok, the desserts, two of the chocolate decadence cakes, a cheesecake with fruit garnish, a dark chocolate hazelnut mousse something and a raspberry eclair. The chocolate decadence was death by chocolate! Super rich but really deep chocolate flavor. The dark chocolate hazelnut mousse cake was light and pleasantly sweet. Cheesecake was as described, nothing amazing there. And the raspberry eclair was a little sweaty and soggy? Maybe end of the day stuff, not sure, but that was the only negative. We'll be back next time we're town.
