I recently discovered that this location has a drive-thru, and that basically changed my life. I cannot stress the convenience enough! However, the drive-thru menu seems to be a little different than the menu inside, so if you have your heart set on a particular meal, you're better off stepping in to order it. No cream cheese spread, dry bread, really dry chewy meat. The sad reality is it's like this each time I go. I always hope it gets better. CRÈME BRÛLÉE OATMEAL $10.90 Gluten-free oats, flax seeds, chia seeds, coconut milk, almond milk, crispy caramelized sugar, fresh whipped cream, strawberries, sliced bananas, toasted almonds & berry coulis (add "bougie" berry blend-blueberries, black berries & raspberries for $2.80) Overall it was good. I normally eat my steel cut oats with very minimal sweetness, but decided to go all in this time. The whipped cream and warm berry coulis sweetened it up and gave it a really nice flavor. They only added 3 slices of banana and one strawberry - very minimal. The bread seemed like it would be hard but it was soft on the inside, completing the flavor of the dip! I got the tomato basil soup cup with the grilled cheese. I was disappointed in the grilled cheese. Not much cheese at all and it was burnt on the inside. Couldn't eat all the sandwich because the lack of cheese which just made it crusted bread. Came in on a Monday night around 7PM. Wasn't busy and was sat quickly! Our server was super friendly and helpful. Shared the brussel sprouts and salmon en croute. Brussels were cooked perfectly paired with a nice sauce. Little disappointed with the small amount of salmon inside, but the puff pastry was perfection! Didn't get a pic bc we dug right in. Haha. I'll say up front it's one four stars from me, simply because I feel like if they narrowed their focus just a bit, the quality could come up enough to honestly give it five. I visited Gourmandise on a busy Saturday morning for a quick stop to get some pastries. Definitely was a full restaurant with a lot of hustle and bustle! If you just want pastries you can go up to the bakery counter and order from there. But you can also grab a table to order from their cafe menu or even eat their pastries in house. I ordered their kouign amann, cheese pocket, and tiramisu eclair today. I've had their kouign amann a while ago and I think they have reduced the amount of sugar lamination so it's much less caramelized and sweet now. It's got more of a dense croissant taste with some sugar caramelized in the middle. Not really my favorite change to their kouign amann so I won't be ordering it again from here. The cheese pocket was like a cream cheese filled roll but the exterior was a thin pastry dough that resembled a danish! It was pretty good and it seemed they were already running low on the cheese pocket at around 9 am! Finally, the tiramisu eclair also had a light cream in the center and a lovely crisp to the tempered chocolate topping. I loved it was a nice spin on the classic eclair and I would see myself ordering this again in the future. Overall this bakery isn't the best I've ever had. But I suppose if you're in the area and want some sweet treats it could be worth dropping by! No need to go out of your way for it though. read more

I truly love this place and think it's a MUST for anyone visiting Salt Lake City (and even the locals). My favorite location is the original in downtown Salt Lake City because the ambiance is so cute and cozy, but the Draper location is very nice as well! They don't do reservations but they have an online waitlist you can join ahead of time. The SLC location is usually always busy but we went to the Draper location on a Friday night at 6:30 and only had to wait like 3 minutes. I LOVE the food here. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all equally delicious. I think they may be most known for their desserts because they have a massive selection that you can order bakery-style behind their glass case. I was so excited to go to Gourmandise as I have heard so many good things about this restaraunt- but was kinda disappointed. Walked into the restaraunt and was not greeted by any staff. I looked around, and saw a sign that said "please wait to be seated." I was meeting a couple friends so I waited and waited for about 20 minutes before being seated. During these 20 minutes multiple people passed and said "Someone will be with you shortly." There was a line of people forming behind me just to be seated. Our waitress was okay. She wasn't very nice in full transparency. Service was very slow, and we had to ask to have our drinks refilled several times. We also had to wait a long while for our meals to come out.
