I love their cakes so much. But i stopped by today and wasn't impressed with their pastries. The puercitos were really dry and i should have know by the looks of them.

We bought a Mocha cake from the display and it was moist and not too sweet. The mocha flavor was not too strong and the fruits on top were fresh so went very well with cake. Overall it was a nice and delicious cake. The staff were helpful and friendly. They were kind enough to write a message on the cake and put some edible glitter on the cake. The store was filled with so many different types of goods...have to go back and try their other stuff.

    Unicorn cake

My boyfriend's daughter turned 6 over the weekend and was having a unicorn themed birthday party. I saw that Cakes by Edith had a unicorn cake and knew I had to get it. I had the choice between vanilla or chocolate and chose vanilla, and then had the choice between strawberry, caramel, and raspberry flavorings in the middle of the cake. We chose strawberry. I also had the choice between pastel colors of frosting or bright colors and chose the pastel colors. Ordering was super easy, I just called the Monday before and was able to pick it up that following Saturday afternoon. You can also order online. The staff was super friendly when I went to get the cake. They also had candles that you could purchase there as well, and I obviously got the unicorn candle as well. Because of the unicorn horn the cake itself was tough to fit in a box with a lid, so my friend held the cake in the car for me. If you're ordering this cake specifically, it was helpful to have someone else help hold the cake because it did move around a little bit during the car ride. The cake itself was DELICIOUS! Oh my goodness. The frosting was light and tasty, sometimes cake frosting can get too thick, sweet, and filling, but the frosting was delicious and not too sickly sweet. The cake was light and fluffy and amazing. Everyone at the birthday party really enjoyed it! We will definitely be ordering from Cakes by Edith again in the future! Thank you for making a 6 year old's birthday so special with this cake.

I can't speak to Edith's cakes, since I ordered other bakery items, but WOW everything else I tried was delicious! I had never been to this bakery before, but gave it a try and will definitely be back. The shop is in a small strip mall off Redwood Road. From the street, it does not boast a catchy sign or storefront that you would notice from afar. But once you get inside, you see shelves and cases of baked goods. There are beautiful cakes up on the top that give you a glimpse into the baker's capabilities. I saw who I assumed to be Edith working with a customer on a cake order. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I wanted to get several things and try some new treats as well. She was patient with us and explained what everything was as well as gave us some suggestions. If you're in the market for some Hispanic traditional baked goods, be sure to stop by-they likely have what you need. And it will be tasty!

8" double cake, marble with raspberry filling.

The positive reviews on Edith are absolutely true. We ordered from the Taylorsville location, and when you walk into the bakery, everything smells so good and all the staff are genuinely happy and welcoming. I asked for a custom 8" double cake for my child's birthday party, with the theme being "first trip around the sun." Edith did a fantastic job with the cake and theme! The cake was beautifully designed, but also tasted good inside (marble with raspberry filling). We provided the planet balls and astronaut (and later added the candle) for cake toppers, though everything else was part of the cake design and edible (the stars). I would highly recommend!

    Outside fixed, date incorrect

This was a $65 cake for a 25th birthday. When I picked it up the first time the writing was bleeding into the other frosting. Took it back. Picked it up when the party was 30 minutes in. Didn't look at the cake until we opened it at the party. The cake said '89 instead of '98 for the birthday, so again the neglected to look at what they were supposed to write. Lastly it was supposed to be a red velvet cake with raspberry filling. Obviously that was not done. We called them asking for the cake to be compensated as it was so messed up. The said to come back the next day for the refund. When I went in for the refund they said that because we ate the cake they would only give me $15. What are we supposed to do when it's already been "fixed" and the party has been going on for 30 minutes at 7:00 at night?

Cakes by Edith always come through with their cakes! They are delicious, moist and SUPER CUTE! We are never disappointed.. The nice thing is that I can take my own toppers and they will add it to the cake without hesitation. I definitely recommend Cakes by Edith for any special occasion cake you need.. Not just their cakes are delicious but so is their pan dulce

    Delicious Chocolate donut with sprinkles

Cakes by Edith never disappoints. There are many delicious options and everything I have tried is so fresh and delicious. Today's trip was for their delicious churros and a few other goodies but the chocolate donuts called my name. I've been craving a delicious donut for weeks so I gave in. The donut was perfect and satisfied my craving that other donut only shops couldn't. The ladies working are always pleasant and helpful and we will definitely be back.

We were quoted a 10-15 minute wait despite there being multiple open tables everywhere, which already set the tone. The person at the front also seemed like greeting guests was a personal inconvenience. Not exactly the warm welcome you'd expect from a place trying this hard to look aesthetic. To make things worse, several pastries sitting in the front display were visibly burnt. Not "artisan charred" -- just burnt. The pastries we ordered were actually good, which makes the rest of the menu even more disappointing. We tried the soft scramble, pork cheek tartine, truffle tartine, and mushroom fettuccine. Everything looked beautiful but tasted either burnt, bland, or both. Every toast item arrived burnt enough that you could taste it in every bite. Our server came by often to refill waters and check on us, but the service somehow still felt oddly impersonal. Since the restaurant wasn't busy at all, it also made us wonder how attentive the service would be during an actual rush. Honestly, this place feels more focused on looking trendy than serving good food. Stick to the pastries if you go -- it's the only thing worth ordering.

If you're looking for pastries that are as stunning as they are delicious, Fillings & Emulsions…read moreabsolutely delivers. Their fruit-shaped creations are little works of art--so realistic it almost feels wrong to eat them... almost. Each pastry is fresh, light, and packed with flavor. The pistachio was incredibly tasty, though definitely on the richer side, so it's one you might want to savor slowly. The raspberry had a beautifully balanced sweetness with a vibrant, delicious filling. The lemon was very zingy--almost intensely so--but still delightful if you enjoy bold citrus flavors (just maybe not an entire one in a single sitting). The standout, though, was the mango. Easily the winner. It had such a bright, powerful flavor, and the fresh mango inside made every bite feel special. Everything about it--from taste to presentation--was just beautiful. The only slight letdown was the macarons. While still good, they didn't quite match the intensity and uniqueness of the pastries and felt a bit underwhelming in comparison. Overall, this place is a must-visit if you appreciate creative, high-quality desserts. It's clear a lot of skill and care goes into every piece. I loved the building that the pastry shop was in, as it had a "lunch room" feel to it. There are a few restaurants inside so there are options and there's plenty of seating.

The sweet cashier recommended Strawberry & Mango, so that's what we got. They were delicious! I think the mango was my personal favorite. The crunch of the chocolate coating was so satisfying and the fillings soft and gooey. It didn't feel artificial either! The location is in a food mall, which I wasn't expecting but it was so cute inside. I wish we had more time to check out the other vendors but we'll have to come back. On a separate note, it was kind of hard to find a trash can.

The wild rice on the side was good, though I did not finish it. We also ordered the falafel as a side, which was interesting.
