Today was my 3rd visit to Vila Massage and Daniel was fantastic per usual. He uses just the right deep tissue pressure. From now on this is my place to relax. The one negative is when a MALE customer came in for a massage loaded with smelly aftershave! Unfortunately I could smell it through my mask the entire time which gave me a headache! We bought a couples massage with add ons. Salt scrub, they did scalp, neck, traps, then arms/shoulder, feet soaked in a hot bath then incredibly thorough foot massage, legs and we flipped over for a full body rundown, separating the tough facia between each side of the spine, ribs, etc. it made so much sense and was a lot of bang for your buck! The two therapists we had were excellent! You could tell how much they knew about body and opposing areas from their hands and they were very responsive to pressure requests. The place was unassuming outside but lovely inside - decorated beautifully and they had snacks and dragonfruit and citrus water for us after. I just had one of the best deep tissue massages that I have ever had. Daniel was fabulous! I've avoided getting a massage for a year and a half since COVID hit, and I was having a bad back spasm and finally decided to go get a massage (I've been vaccinated, so I feel more comfortable now). Everything was great - super clean, Daniel wore a mask the whole time and so did I (which is an odd experience during a massage, but necessary). This was my first time to Vila Massage and I had such a great experience. I cannot wait to go back back! It's been over a year since my last massage (yay COVID) and after seeing this place's updates on the measures they're taking for their customers and staff to stay safe, I thought I would give this place a try. Vila Massage did not disappoint! - All staff were masked and they ask for all customers to remain masked while inside as well. - Front staff was very friendly and walked me through their check-in process easily (info on your trouble spots, take your temperature). I'm sorry I didn't catch your name! - Annie was friendly, open to adjustments in pressure (though I didn't need any!) and really pushed through my many many knots. - Hot stones and oil included with my full body massage (A pleasant surprise because hot stones are rarely included without additional fees) - Great ambiance music (calming and soothing). - They have a special going on right now that I'll likely take advantage of the next time I go: Buy 6 massages, get 1 massage free They've just re-opened after being closed for some time! Today was my first massage at Vila and i really enjoyed it! I was really skeptical at first but my boyfriend did some research and they were available to get me in, so I tried it out. Sarah was my therapist and she did such a good job! I was very impressed. I can't handle the deep tissue, and I'm extremely ticklish but she did great. Her pressure was perfect! She had good technique and I felt so relaxed. She worked some knots out that I've had for a while without hurting me :) I wish I lived closer so I could go back more often. I went here several times between January through February, and it is one of the best gems/massage places in North County. I called this place because the regular place I go to in San Marcos was booked sometimes, and this is how I found them. I saw that the reviews from other people were good too, so I thought to try this place. They didn't disappoint and went back every two weeks since then. The only downside is that only one or two people knew how to speak English, but other than that, everyone is super friendly, they provide excellent service, and the massage is fantastic! Went for the couples massage and were really impressed with the clean space and details. Flowers, quiet atmosphere, many clean sheets and towels. I loved the sign on the wall encouraging us to let them know immediately if a firmer or softer pressure was needed. Sometimes I hesitate to ask and it made me feel safe that feedback was welcome. Sarah was very welcoming and kind and made us feel like guests. The massage was thorough, with both Mike and Sarah checking in on occasions to make sure the pressure was right. We got the full body with hot oil and stones plus an energizing mask. The stones and mask were new to me but we both really enjoyed the heat. Looking forward to coming back. I came here today with my girlfriend and had an outstanding experience. We first walked in and were greeted by a kind lady. We actually arrived about twenty minutes earlier than our appointment time and to my surprise, she immediately checked us in and walked us to our room! Moments later, we were getting massaged. To be honest, I had some pretty bad knots in my shoulders and she did a great job! Not only was the pressure great, but also the techniques. I have had a few massages in the past and she used a few techniques that I had not experienced before and to be honest I think this is one of the best, if not the best massage spots I've been to! I have enjoyed coming here but last time I went the person giving me my massage cracked my back and I'm awake now with lower back pain that I've been having since the visit. I don't think this should be something that is practiced there because it should only be done by a chiropractor. I wish I stopped him but I thought he was just going to stretch me and then he pressed down on my leg while it was across my body. I didn't want to be uneven so I didn't say anything and let him do the other side. I'm not sure which time hurt my back or if it was both. Please let your masseuse know that you do not want your back cracked. The only other thing I would critique is the music, it's been the same 5 or 6 songs on repeat since they opened. Otherwise, everyone that works here is friendly and the facility is very clean. I do like this place. But I am in a lot of discomfort right now because of my visit. read more

To start off, the massage was just ok. Nothing spectacular. I am not from the area and in town for a friend's birthday. Googled local massage places and it came up with great reviews. The website was nice and I could tell time and money had been spent on it. I made appointments the day before and when I arrived they had no idea we were coming but was able to "fit us in". I bought 3 Swedish massages for my self and my friends. The rooms are dingy and not as clean as I would like, the massage beds are simply a cheap table with a mattress and a hole cut through. You get a neck pillow to lay your face on. I paid for us each to have 60 minutes but they start counting the minute you get in the room, get undressed, lay on the table and the extra time it took for them to come in. Not a single person in there spoke coherent English and had no idea what we were asking for. It's frustrating because my friend has joint issues and asked for a soft touch and they hurt her. I would bet money these people are not professionally trained. They kept leaving the room on top of everything to get 'supplies' and that ate away some our time. For some strange reason the lady massaged my face and eyelids...my eyelids!! So weird! My left eye swoll up for a couple of hours afterwards. Lastly, my massage lady was chewing gum!!! Loudly!!! Was not a very relaxing experience. I would not go go back...ever. read more

We went in for a couples massage and it got the job done. The rooms are definitely relaxing and the warm tables are a bonus. I will say part of the relaxing atmosphere was dampened by other employees walking around in loud shoes in the hallway multiple times during our hour massage. There was also very little regard of the employees talking quietly in the area of our massage room so we weren't able to enjoy a quiet couples massage. I'm a mom of two and it's rare I get out with my husband and sometimes the quiet is nice. I was also thrown off when we scheduled our massage at 11 and 30 minutes beforehand, they called to ask if we could come in a later time due to other clients not arriving on time. They told me that if I still came at 11, I'd have to sit and wait until 11:30 for my appointment, even if I said no to a later time. Once I explained that I had a sitter for Mother's Day and paying by the hour, they said okay and took us right on time. Overall, we'll most likely return but only if we can't find another place in the general area that we like. I think it would definitely benefit future clients if the other employees are more mindful of how loud they are, as well as their shoes, to ensure clients have the most relaxing massage possible. read more
