Yum Yum Yum! Have been meaning to get here to try out a few items and was in the area so stopped in for lunch. Wish I went sooner! Hubby got the grilled pork noodle bowl and I got the bahn mi tofu lunch deal which comes with your choice of spring roll, cheese wonton or pork egg roll and a drink. We got the spring rolls and wontons. I upgraded my drink to a Vietnamese coffee. Everything was delicious including the peanut sauce and fish sauces. Fresh, filling but not heavy and can tell is made with care. We talked with the owner for a bit and it's just him and his wife running the place as they get started since their only open for 3 months now. OMG SOOOOOO GOOD! We got pork egg rolls, the fried rice with shrimp and Beef with broccoli over white rice. Everything was very good! I would recommend it to anyone! Great place for anyone who want to try Vietnamese food. Great food and service. Staffs always smile when customers come in and say goodbye when customers leave (even people in the kitchen shout out to say goodbye to customer). Inside restaurant always smell good and clean. I think they have the cleanest and the most fragrant restaurant bathroom in Arizona lol. The food have great taste and tone of flavor. The grill pork or pork belly sandwich are my favorite because the they has a lot of stuffs inside with the best sauce (idk what it is) they put in to make the sandwich moister and more flavor. Just FYI: these sandwich have a lot of meat (I am a meat lover :) ). If some days I feel like I want something warm and keep me full whole day, I will order "beef and broccoli noodles" or "shack fried rice". They give a big box of food and I need two meals to finish them all. This restaurant will never let you down unless you come during the lunch hours because of long waiting line lol! read more

I really wanted to like this place. I called and ordered 5 Banh Mi because our two usuals (Urbanh and Rapha) were out of bread from all the take out orders. I've seen this place before, but having lived in Vegas and California, I'm already used to paying higher prices for Vietnamese food here and often the quality still doesn't blow me away. The sandwiches at Vietshack are at least $2 more than the other two locations. And not worth it. The bread isn't terrible, but it's a weird shape for the sandwich, such that the filling falls out when you try to eat it. Which says something because while there's a healthy amount of meet, the traditional Banh Mi veggies are very lacking. Nothing was offensive about the taste, but it felt like even with the Yelp 10% off it wasn't good. They add these styrofoam type crunchy discs in a small bag of 5. I'm still it sure what the purpose is? They seem more pointless and flavorless than rice cakes. Moral of the story: pass on this. Go to Urbanh! read more

Definitely have some of the deep fried egg rolls also. I can't stop eating them! The shack fried rice is delicious and has bits of Chinese sausage and shrimp. This is definitely more of a fast-food type place so it's not bad if you are looking for a quick place with good service when you are craving some Vietnamese food. But this isn't authentic, limited menu, and the meat doesn't have the grilled flavor it should have. Best banh mi I have had since San Francisco! The bread was light and perfectly crusty, the grilled pork was amazing and the veggies were crisp and so good. Stopped here on a road trip because of proximity to highway and it was Asian. We didn't have the highest expectations of a Vietnamese counter service restaurant in a strip mall but we were pleasantly surprised. The counter person/owner couldn't have been nicer and he happily offered suggestions for dishes when asked. Our food came out quickly as was fresh and delicious. My co-worker who said that she "doesn't like vietnamese food" but actually had just never had it, really enjoyed the banh mi. Duh. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and delicious. I've only tried their Banh mi sandwiches (excuse the spelling if it's wrong) but they are great. The sandwich has a French influence and requires a baguette which is usually pretty rough but the ones here are soft and easy to eat. read more

Have eaten here a few times. The service is very quick, polite, and friendly. The food is very fresh and good. The pork bahn-mi is my favorite.
