Great place for anyone who want to try Vietnamese food. Great food and service. Staffs always smile when customers come in and say goodbye when customers leave (even people in the kitchen shout out to say goodbye to customer). Inside restaurant always smell good and clean. I think they have the cleanest and the most fragrant restaurant bathroom in Arizona lol. The food have great taste and tone of flavor. The grill pork or pork belly sandwich are my favorite because the they has a lot of stuffs inside with the best sauce (idk what it is) they put in to make the sandwich moister and more flavor. Just FYI: these sandwich have a lot of meat (I am a meat lover :) ). If some days I feel like I want something warm and keep me full whole day, I will order "beef and broccoli noodles" or "shack fried rice". I really wanted to like this place. I called and ordered 5 Banh Mi because our two usuals (Urbanh and Rapha) were out of bread from all the take out orders. I've seen this place before, but having lived in Vegas and California, I'm already used to paying higher prices for Vietnamese food here and often the quality still doesn't blow me away. The sandwiches at Vietshack are at least $2 more than the other two locations. And not worth it. The bread isn't terrible, but it's a weird shape for the sandwich, such that the filling falls out when you try to eat it. Which says something because while there's a healthy amount of meet, the traditional Banh Mi veggies are very lacking. Nothing was offensive about the taste, but it felt like even with the Yelp 10% off it wasn't good. They add these styrofoam type crunchy discs in a small bag of 5. I'm still it sure what the purpose is? They seem more pointless and flavorless than rice cakes. Moral of the story: pass on this. Go to Urbanh! read more

I've been looking for a place that serves really good banh mi and Vietnamese dishes for a while after moving from the OC area to Phoenix recently. Stumbled upon this place, and I'm super glad I did! I ordered the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi and it was super good, chicken was tender, and bun soft! Great mom and pop shop with quality dishes and great customer service. If you're looking for quick, delicious and authentic Vietnamese food go to Vietshack! The spring rolls are fresh and have many options. The pork belly spring rolls are amazing! Definitely have some of the deep fried egg rolls also. I can't stop eating them! The shack fried rice is delicious and has bits of Chinese sausage and shrimp. Definitely need to come back and try the fried chicken and chicken wings. If you've never tried Vietnamese food talk to the owner and he will steer you in the right direction! Absolutely a hidden gem the grilled pork sandwiches are so good , I get a hair cut and something to eat it's an amazing little shop.

I had the vermicelli bowl with pork. This is definitely more of a fast-food type place so it's not bad if you are looking for a quick place with good service when you are craving some Vietnamese food. But this isn't authentic, limited menu, and the meat doesn't have the grilled flavor it should have. Best banh mi I have had since San Francisco! The bread was light and perfectly crusty, the grilled pork was amazing and the veggies were crisp and so good. Stopped here on a road trip because of proximity to highway and it was Asian. We didn't have the highest expectations of a Vietnamese counter service restaurant in a strip mall but we were pleasantly surprised. The counter person/owner couldn't have been nicer and he happily offered suggestions for dishes when asked. Our food came out quickly as was fresh and delicious. This is the second time we've eaten at the Vietshack. Both times the food was excellent. The veggies were super fresh and the food was very tasty. We had pork egg rolls, grilled pork with fried rice and shack fried noodles. We had the sweet and sour sauce and the fish sauce with the egg rolls. They were both very good. I've only tried their Banh mi sandwiches (excuse the spelling if it's wrong) but they are great. The sandwich has a French influence and requires a baguette which is usually pretty rough but the ones here are soft and easy to eat. read more

VietShack has been my go to lunch and dining spot since it opened near my workplace. Since the pandemic, weekly VietShack visits for takeout have been the norm for me and my crew. Where should I start? The vermicelli bowl with grilled pork, shrimp and tofu (I've had them all in various combinations) is perfectly made and especially refreshing in the summer. The garlic noodles and shrimp is simple yet a taste sensation. The bahn mi (grilled pork) is one of the best in the Valley. One of my sons wakes up craving for the Shack fried rice. Each takeout run, I have to get 2 orders of shrimp egg rolls because it's just THAT good. Thoung is the consummate host and maestro of this jewel of an operation. He and his family and team work so hard to bring customers a bit of happiness during these difficult times. And yes, everyone is on point in terms of practicing basic but necessary COVID-19 safety precautions. Oh man. I was feeling tired, passing through town so I stopped to get a snack. I ordered 3 traditional spring rolls, 3 pork egg rolls, and the Vietnamese iced coffee. The spring rolls were light and fresh with a delicious peanut sauce. The egg rolls were so tasty, warm and satisfying. Lastly, the iced coffee was perfect. Way to hit the spot!! Interior is super clean and inviting. Also, the people working here were very cool and friendly. I'm so sad I don't live around here. If I did it'd be a regular stop for sure. read more
