This is my to go Vietnamese restaurant in town. It's comfort food for me. I love this restaurant because it's very spacious inside and with plenty of booths for little ones and family. It's clean both indoor and outdoor but only have indoor dining. The staff is the same and all all very respectful and welcoming. You could tell they work as a family. The food is high quality Vietnamese entrees and well seasoned and cooked to perfection. They have various plates from pork products, beef and chicken products and pho soup. Prices are affordable and portions are large. They have coke products and shakes for drinks. My favorite drink is the coconut water. My favorite dish is number 68 with jasmine rice and chicken with shrimp. It's a must try while in town. read more

Overall: Viet's Pho suffers from the same problem as other pho places that I have tried in Albuquerque--the food is incredibly sweet. The service is good and the restaurant is nice though. Food: 2 Special Egg Noodle Soup (Mi Dac Biet): This comes with choice of egg noodle or rice noodle, BBQ pork, shrimp, squid, fish balls, and imitation crab. The egg noodles were well cooked, and there was a decent amount of meat. However, the BBQ pork was dry, and the broth was so sweet that it tasted like syrup. Stir Fried Rice Noodle with Chicken (Hu Tieu Xao Ga): Although the sauce in this stir fry was sweet, I felt like it went well with the dish. There was a VERY generous amount of chicken. I appreciate that the chicken was cut into smaller pieces, and I liked the vegetables included (zucchini, carrots). However, it was super oily. Service: 5 The servers were all very nice and willing to accommodate our requested changes to the dish. Ambiance: 5 Viet Pho is located in a small plaza with its own parking lot, so it has plenty of parking. The restaurant itself has a variety of booths and normal tables. Went in for take-out just to grab some Vietnamese sandwiches... was pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches had amazing flavor - fresh herbs and bread. Portions were a smidge small - but, in fairness, the sandwiches are listed as appetizers, and were priced very well - so that's on me. We will go back and try the full menu - the menu looks amazing. The combination pho is my favorite of any pho places I've ever tried. I wish they would have bun rieu here but it is not on the menu so I will keep coming back for the combo pho. Back on the food tour! We haven't tried Vietnamese food yet, but we are glad we tried it here! We walked to the door, a heavenly aroma greeted us. As we opened the door, we were greeted by a friendly staff that directed us to our table. I ordered raspberry lemonade that was the perfect drink for a hot day. The menu is extensive with a lot of choices. My food buddy got the well done steak beef noodle bowl, hubby the shrimp and egg roll bowl, me, the combination rice noodle bowl. The beef soup (Pho) came with the accompanying Thai basil, lime, and chili. The broth was tasty and had that special umami of pho. I had the combo rice noodle bowl. The grilled shrimp, egg rolls, grilled pork, and super fresh veggie, along with tasty rice noodles..... Heaven! Also, if you are hungry, there's no excuse to leave that way! 3.5 Was craving some Viet food while in Albuquerque and stopped by. It's a pretty big place with almost every table occupied, giving the impression that it's quite an established local favorite. Craving some Com Tam, I ordered number 72: Broken Rice Special Combination. The shredded pork, or bi heo, was mostly just shredded skin, omitting the slivers of pork. There was a small side of seasoned pork though, which I appreciated. I liked the steamed pork cake, which didn't taste too much like egg. The carrots and daikon on the side weren't too pickled, which honestly fit my preference as I think too much vinegar can be a bit overwhelming. The grilled pork chop was thinner and less juicy with a weaker flavor than what I typically eat. But the portion was pretty good and satiated my cravings. read more

My second time enjoying this place. Had the beef pho the first time to set the bar. It was high. I had the special rice noodle bowl and my friend had the combo rice noodle bowl. Left the doctors office last Friday with a sinus infection. My brother recommended Viet's Pho. I walked in for a take-out order and was immediately greeted by the friendly owner. I really like this place. I'm usually one for pho, but when I'm here I order the spicy lemongrass beef verminchill. I usually order extra spicy. I order tea or Thai tea. They have excellent service I cannot complain. They make sure to give refill or see if you need more napkins or sauce. Or extra chilies. The Ambiance is relaxing. I went here because I saw it had good reviews, this was 100% my worst dining experience I've had in 30 years. THERE WAS A BUG THE SIZE OF MY THUMB IN MY SOUP. Luckily I hadn't eaten even a bite before seeing it.. I took the bug out and called the shop. They told me they couldn't refund my card and that I would have to return the next day to discuss my concerns with a manager. Luckily I saved the bug as proof because getting a refund was anything but easy and they didn't even refund me for the entire cost of the meal that I threw away. Which is insane because the broth was used for both meals and the bug was missing legs/antenna... Extremely disappointing considering I went there because my sick boyfriend wanted soup. I've come here a couple times and they never fail to neglect me and my friends, we come looking for a nice meal and in return don't get acknowledged and we even found a hair in one of our plates. This place was such a gem! Great atmosphere with strange glowing pink tree in the entry and bamboo wall paper. I don't think we had just one server. It was a tag team effort and we were well taken care of. 3 at our table for pho and I got a vermicelli rice bowl. All was very fresh and so perfect for all the rainy days during balloon fest.
