Viejas outlet is one of the worst outlets I have seen in the country. The shops are unappealing and undistinguished with a pathetic collection. Stores appear to be at sixes and sevens -- all of them. Finally, parking and mall layout is just plain weird. The whole ambiance feels like a B horror movie where college students do and then pay for inexplicably stupid things. The restaurants aren't all that great either. If you'd like to go to an outlet center, drive twice as long and hit Cabazon near Palm Springs. I would not go to Alpine again, and if you're wondering whether you should, please don't bother unless you want to feel like you're in Mexico without crossing the physical border. read more

I agree with what another person said - don't make a special trip for these outlets. They are convenient if you want to get away from the casino while other people you are with want to keep gambling. I found walking around the stores to be a bit depressing. It seemed like some were going out of business and there were a lot of empty places. Perhaps the bad economy is taking its toll, which is sad. The store selection was pretty lame. The only place worth going is The Gap outlet. read more

The plan of attack should be to hit the casino across the street first, win $200 and go shopping at the outlets. They have some good stores here. Wilson's Leather, shoe stores, etc. All for low, low prices. At least it seems that way. A leather jacket discounted to $70? Not bad, not bad at all. Besides the stores, there's a mini-golf course (which isn't that great but has misters everywhere since it gets so hot) and a food court which features a fountain like a mini-Bellagio. At night, they do a pretty nice show with the fountain which includes loud music, bright lights and, most importantly, fire. That's right. Fire. Which is great for me because the voice inside my head always tells me to burn things. read more

This place ain't like it used to be. My favorite go to spot was the Nike outlet. I used to come up on all kinds of Jordans. The selection now is not all that great. They do have good deals on the clothes every now and then. The other stores here at the outlet don't really interest me. The kettle corn stand is probably the busiest thing there. Grab yourself a large bag for 7 bucks and they fill it to the very top! I think the outlet at San ysidro has better stores. read more

This is where casino action and outlet mall shopping merge with indian culture in Alpine, California. I've been here a few times before my mom passed away. See, she used to live in El Cajon and we would walk around places in and around the San Diego area. Well, Viejas was one of those places. Since the last time I visited, I think maybe the bingo hall was added at the outlet mall perhaps, but pretty much everything else is the same. I miss my favorite stores not being here anymore, but I still walked around in the summer heat enjoying my shopping experience and sweating away. The heat finally got to me about two hours in and I bought a frozen lemonade at the Wetzel's Pretzels. With pretzel and frozen lemonade in hand, I found a shady spot to rest in next to the splash pad and watched the kids dodge the water randomly streaming from the tiled center of the food court. I have to agree with Fred L.'s review and what he says about the prices. They seem to be high, but maybe that makes up for the crazy sales they have around Christmas time. read more

Went here with a bunch of friends after getting bored really quickly at the casino across the street (which, might I add, saved us from the lack of a TV for the Laker game). Not enough good stores here.. It's pretty nice though, but only for a day/one time thing.. I don't think I'll ever be coming here again. AND they need healthier food alternatives; Subway does NOT, by ANY MEANS, count as a healthy alternative! I would say the only good thing would be a few stores, but even so.. man, the selection pretty much sucked. I got a pair of shoes at the Nike store, but that was pretty much it. I come here all the time specifically for the Nike store. I can always guarantee I will find something. Beware there are a lot of closed stores, Reebok is one of the latest stores closing. Hopefully they are revamping the outlet. (Fingers crossed) My daughter loves to watch the water spouts that they have at the food court. You can always find something in Nike, Carters, Gap, Vans. The waterfalls, serenity, nods to nature and unique and beautiful architecture create a calm an unhurried shopping experience at this truly beautiful outlet center. It has a nice variety food options (including additional ones right across the street at the casino). The bathrooms are clean and parking has been plentiful on days that I've been there. The stores and business I appreciate most are the native-owned and operated ones such as 'Gathered' with gorgeous indigenous-made gifts, jewelry, flutes, drums, clothing and more. Another is Native Dreams Day Spa with truly gifted massage experts and manicure/pedicure specialists plus lots of other beauty and healing services. These unique small businesses make it worth the drive or a stop at this lovely and restful place. Way to go Viejas business development! Keep supporting small and Native-owned/operated businesses! We came by here on our way back home to Az. It's true, it was pretty dead....even the coffee shop I went into told be they were going to be closing down in a month (the coffee shop, that is).... I wonder what will happen with the other stores? They were pretty nice from what I could tell. The Wilson's Leather was actually one of the biggest Wilson's Outlets I've ever been too. They had some pretty good deals there....$20 purses, and some leather jackets for $40. It's true, we didn't find many other good deals at the other stores.....What a shame too! I hope this place gets bumpin' again, because the outlet itself is really nice! Love the landscaping, and they play this like new age relaxing music around the complex, lol. I guess we'll see what happens the next time we are in the area! read more

Great for shopping. Outlet with outdoor seating for entertainment. Lots of stores. Nice and clean. Landscaped well. To avoid crowds go on weekdays. There are also places to eat like Subway. We have come back to this Outlet about every other year for the last 8 years around December to shop for the holidays. It was sort of tarnished and somewhat mediocre today? Many of the stores we shopped have moved on. :o( Today: we shopped at Gap, Eddie Bauer, Anna's Linen, Kitchen Collections, Tommy Hilfingers, Famous Footwear, Nautica and Wilson Leather. ALL of these shops have, and always continues to retain a very customer service staff. We did notice and felt that you too appreciated us coming back to your stores. Thank You! BTW: We spend money with you too today! Kudos people. But the overall ambiance of the Vieja's Outlet Mall (the physical center) was not up to par. We found the decore and holiday theme was cut back or missing at best If there were ongoing repairs, renovations or maintenance that precluded the center from decorating for the holidays like they have in the past, we would have liked to see some communication explaining this. One would have expected those types of issues would have been resolved before Black Friday. We were very disappointed with the lacking aesthetics of "holiday shopping" at Vieja's. We were left feeling that you did not care to continue the quality that you demonstrated to us in the past. :o( The Big Tree seems to be missing half the ornaments. What ornaments were there seemed to be peeling or tarnished. Some of the bronze animal statues seemed to be missing throughout the mall too. Maybe it was the lack of other holiday decore that enhanced their appearance was lacking as well. We saw no garland, poinsettias nor fir trees anywhere else? Only a watery ice rink. :o( I hope that the Vieja Outlet Mall will make some changes next year to get this shopping center back on track. I will check out Yelp prior to returning to Vieja's to see if any positive changes have happened to restore the "magic and ambiance" to this shopping mall. These outlets are a joke! Decided to venture out to the Viejas outlets on Saturday since we had never been. HUGE mistake! I have been to outlet centers all over the world and this one has to be one of the worst I have ever been to. I would have to agree with the reviewers who stated the stores were depressing. They have absolutely no life - and forget about finding spectacular deals. If you're into stores like Dress Barn, Eddie Bauer, Puma, Nautica or perhaps Guess, then this place might tickle your fancy. However, if you are more of a BCBG, Juicy Couture, Banana Republic, True Religion, Barneys New York, kind of person then don't even waste your time. The best thing about this outlet center is the scenery. Love the waterfalls and peaceful scenery. However, unless there is a concert or other special event taking place I will definitely not be back. read more

I've always like the Viejas outlet mall, expecially after eating buffet its a great place to walk off your huge meal. Winter is better cause its too hot out to walk in the summer but its pretty so its a nice walk. I dont go out there often enough! read more

I go here because I'm around Alpine quite often. I really enjoy the scenery and I have seen the water show before and although it wasn't mindblowing, it's cool that they have something like that there. Everyone is right, it's really quiet and there are rarely ever any people around here other than the holidays! Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for most, but for me it's a good thing haha. I like the peace and quiet. I'm usually at the Nike store, because I love buying comfortable gym clothes there. I love that I can still fit into some girls clothes, so I can buy sweats for an affordable price, and I don't need to hem them! read more

We came here after lunch. Husband had $10 to spend at Eddie Bauer. I love this outlet mall because you can find good deals. While my husband was in the Eddie Bauer store, I decided to go to the Coach outlet store with my daughter. I received a coupon for 50% off with additional 30% off. I kept looking but I'm particular about the color and style of the bag. I didn't see anything I liked, so we decided to go to Guess outlet. I found the perfect bag. There are restrooms and soda machines throughout the Viejas outlet. The place is huge and has various outlets. There's also a small food court towards the front of the outlet. There's plenty of parking in the back of the Viejas outlet. I really enjoyed shopping here even though it was cold the day we had to come here. My husband couldn't find anything at Eddie Bauer, so he bought me two long sleeved shirts. Thanks for the cute tops to keep me warm! This place use to be THE PLACE to go and shop...WHAT HAPPENED? The past few times I've come by here to purchase stuff like shoes and clothing, I've come up with ZILTCH!!! NADA!!! I DON'T THINK SO!!! Even their best store (The Nike Outlet) was a huge disappointment for me. There was a time, they had better shoes the outlet in San Ysidro...Not anymore! With the price of gas skyrocketing every day, you would think that Viejas would lower the prices on merchandise sold at the outlet...that's not the case. As a matter of fact, I find it cheaper to shop locally, cause the prices are about the same and I don't have to drive a gazillion miles to get there. It seems to me that Viejas is NOW about those LOSER gamblers that waste their money, hoping for a huge pay-off that will probably never happen (sorry...that's how I feel about gamblers) and fat people that want to fatter eating at the buffet. This use to be the place to shop...especially for Christmas. That isn't the case anymore. I know it's not just me that feels this way, cause I've had friends that gave me the same feedback. This has by far the best grounds of any outlet mall. It is a wonderful design and beautiful landscaping. The parking is great also. Over the years there are less and less stores Oshkosh and Carter's are now gone. There used to be a home/kitchen store, linens, Black and Decker, Sun Diego and many others. I realize with covid many businesses have had to cut back but many store left before the pandemic. Now that things are getting better I hope Viejas can attract new businesses and customers. Viejas needs to adopt a new marketing strategy. I love the venue and would sad for the outlets to become a ghost town. read more

For as long as I lived here and as many times as I've been to Viejas....I never checked out the outlets. Me and the hubby decided to check them out since its a lot closer now for us with the 125 expressway. Ok, I have to say we wasted the $2.50 fee from using the expressway, wasted gas and then wasted time and more money at the buffet in the casino. These outlets suck. Thats all I have to say. It was really dead on a Saturday afternoon. I know outlets carrry the more outdated stuff that doesn't sell in the regular stores...but do the items and stores have to be so nasty? We looked at shoes with dust all over them...not just in one store....but 3! It just felt really dirty there! We were there for about 30 minutes and I had to leave. read more

This place is just awesome. I had spent all day looking for somewhere to take my 5-Year-Old bowling on Memorial Day Weekened, when I found Viejas Bowl and decided to make a little mini-trip out there. After parking and making our way to Viejas Bowl, I stopped to check out a few stores and was mostly impressed. The Reebok store was crap. No basketball shoes, and very limited selections on everything. Definitely not worth stopping in. The Nike Outlet - Awesome. A great pair of basketball shoes for $25, 3 shirts for $12.50 and a pair of basketball shorts for $10. You can't even get prices like that at Ross during clearance. The drive out there was worth it for the Nike Outlet alone, and I am planning on going back this weekend for more stuff. The stores are just a small part of things out here, this is covered in most of the reviews but the Outdoor Movies looked like a great deal ($5 cover and includes popcorn and soda) also the arcade, and bowling would make this a very easy place to spend an entire day with the family having a bunch of affordable fun. The good the bad and the ugly: This store has some great bargains around the holiday season. Other than that it's not a real big deal. They have buy one get one sales but it seems that the prices may have been marked up so they can mark them down or at least increased to manufacturer's suggested retail price. I Drive up from San Diego occasionally just to check the deals. Usually I'm disappointed and end up going to the Nike store. Yesterday's visit was no exception. I found shoes marked as clearance that were marked down from $74 to $70. Another shoe was marked from $70 snd was on clearance for $69. That's kinda pathetic for a clearance item. Anyway, I probably won't be making any more trips there until the holiday season. read more

This outlet while not big seemed to be well maintained. The rocks and streams were a nice touch. The best reason to come here is the Nike clearance outlet. Not sure about the other shops. This is an outdoor mall so it will probably be hot during summertime. Seems to be around 30miles or so from most of sd which is fairly close. read more

Perfect place for a day out for shopping and entertainment. This place has an arcade, bowling alley, miniature golf and a casino. Great architecture and atmosphere. Even a fountain area for kiddos to play in. read more

I miss a lot of the stores that used to be up here but I'm glad the few we like like are still around. Charters, rue 21, and the pizza place. It's a nice little area that you can take your kids to play in the water durning the summer and see elsa ice skate in the winter. read more

In my opinion, it was once one of the cooler outlets in San Diego, but no longer. It never really had the greatest stores like other outlets in other counties. When I came by here, a lot of stores have been closed and have been replaced by more less favorable stores. The one cool thing about the place is the summer and winter shows that are held out on the water display in the middle of the food court. I've only seen The Legend of Nightfire, which is pretty good. I have never seen the Ice Princess. Another good thing about these outlets in the winter is that it has an ice skating ring, which is great for the kids and the families that wanna take part in the winter fun. The nice thing about the outlets is that you kind of get a sense of the seasonal changes when you come up here to shop. In the summer, its freakin hot; whereas in the winter its freakin cold...those are about the two seasons in San Diego! If you like coming out here for the scenery this place is ok. Just remember that its not the best shopping area, unless more better stores come back. read more

Why is it so hot here? The stores tend to be nice. The bargains are ok if you look. Quiet place very nice place to just stroll around. It would be especially nice if it wasn't so hot. Parking was easy to find. The store selection is good. And of course this is close to the casino. Be prepared to find the place extremely quiet. The parking lot may have seemed full. But, the place always seems dead. I think it might be the way the have the buildings and walkways setup. So, if you're looking for an experience like a busy mall (e.g. Plaza Bonita). Go to the mall. The architecture is BEAUTIFUL but the layout is IMPRACTICAL! If you're just looking to stroll around and walk a lot, this is a great place to get some exercise. BUT... if you're a serious shopper, with little time to spare, there is no logical way to figure your way around because it is hard to know where things are. If its your first time there, plan to spend lots of time to find your way around. If you are disabled and you don't have a motorized wheelchair or scooter, SKIP IT unless you want to be exhausted at the end of your stay. Beautiful but Tiring! read more

Best place to go if you want discount prices for brand names. Worth the drive if you live far because the discounts and sales they have at the outlet is pretty good. You honestly save a lot of money. Also if you come during Christmas time they have the ice rink arena and it's pretty cool to come and ice skate with your friends or family. Shopping while the boys bowl and there are 6 stores that are worth anything the rest of them are crap. They should really consider getting some good brand name stores in there and get rid of that crappy toy store. I don't come here often and I do that for a reason; you can only look at the same 6 stores so many times. Let me start off by saying that I don't come to Viejas for the Outlet deals. I come here because it is a nice place stretch and grab food when my family travels from Orange County to the IE to visit my grandmother. I'm not big on shopping at outlets. I'd rather pay a little more to avoid shopping in a messy, crowded store, but the shops in Viejas blew me away. They are much more clean and organized than the shops I have seen at other outlet malls I have been to. The best part is that I have never had to wait in line to use a dressing room. There aren't many shops, but I usually find some cute things on sale at PacSun and Nike. If I don't feel like shopping, it is nice to stroll through the outdoor mall and pick up a sandwich or kettle corn. If you are in the Alpine, I'd check it out. read more

2nd time in a month I have been overcharged for beer . You have ads all over the casino for $4.00 drafts. Today again I was charged $5.00 and also overcharged for a menu item. When brought to the attention of the bar tender ,he acknowledged he made a mistake and would get a mgr. for the menu item. Manager "Maty" started to debate with me over a $1.00 charge that the cook made in regards to avocado which I did not order.He took the charge off for the 2 beers, but did not remove the $1.00 charge for something I did not order. This is a customer service manager? I have been a patron for over 20 years to this casino and can't believe you hire someone who wont remove a $1.00 charge for something I did not even order or even apologize for the overcharge for the beers bartender charged. WTF!!!! Any skilled manager would not blink an eye to remove a charge for an item the customer did not order.I will dispute the charge with my credit card company and pick a different venue to eat in the future. Take all the promotions off the video games, slot machines and monitors throughout the casino for your $4.00 all day happy hour beers because your newer staff at the lounge cant get it right, and put "Maty" back in a customer service course. read more
