What an amazing experience at the new Vidorra overlooking beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard! The views were stunning, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. It was the perfect place to celebrate England's thrilling 6-4 victory over France in the FIFA World Cup 2026 third-place playoff. Congratulations to England on securing third place after an unforgettable match!

I've been here twice now and loved both experiences. Street tacos are great the queso is delicious and huge and the drinks are on point. The patio is such a vibe and service has always been great.

Food and drinks were very good. Will definitely go back. The patio had a decent amount of shade even with the Texas heat

Went for lunch on Father's Day. ordered the sampler plate first. They ask if wanted everything on it, asked to sub beef for chicken flautas and then ordered crispy taco plate. Food came out quickly. The server disappeared for 20 minutes beverages empty. Tacos were TINY, with too much salt. Borracho beans, perfect. Empanadas on the sampler, were amazing, consommé underwhelming. Server dropped off beverages and disappeared for 20 more minutes, dropped off the check, left again for 20 minutes. Charged extra for beef, without telling us, came back and said all subs are extra, here is your card It was a busy and VERY noisy day. even at 2pm we had to shout to talk. We like the area, but We will go to Glorias across the street next time. Vidorra is Not a good value. $$$$

This was my second time at Vidorra in Rockwall, and once again, Vidorra never misses. Everything we had was so good, the Horchata, Flaming Fundido, Verde Molcajete, and the salmon dish were all delicious. The food was flavorful, the atmosphere was great, and I'd definitely come back again. The only thing I'd recommend improving is the waiting area. It's pretty small, and when we were there, there were probably 15-20 people standing clustered together waiting for tables. Even reorganizing the space a little to maximize seating would make a big difference. Other than that, another great experience!

I've got a mixed review of Vidorra. At the end of the day, I don't think I'll be going back but that doesn't mean it was all bad. First, the good. Well, the good was definitely the chips and salsa. The chips were lightly dusted with some seasoning. I didn't take the time to figure out what it was, but it gave them a nice kick. So subtle but so significant. Unfortunately, my experience kind of dipped from there. Service was slow and a bit inattentive. I got the Molcajete parrillada en fuego. The literal translation is mortar grilled over fire. I should have asked what that meant because most Molcajete dishes are heated over fire. What it means at Vidorra is cook the meat, drop a hot coal in the mortar and put the cooked meat with a little mole on a grill screen over the mortar. It's basically a fajita dish served on top of the mortar bowl. However, it doesn't stay warm. Needless to say, I was disappointed. That said, the verde Molcajete that someone else got looked as expected. No one else (there were six of us) raved about their food. So, I'm in no rush to head back.

Very nice ambiance as if you're in another country on vacation! Great Happy Hour selections and food!

This place is gorgeous. The theming is on par with a Disney restaurant, you are transported into a lush Mayan jungle with greenery everywhere you look. The attention to detail is incredible. We started with the queso blanco, which is served in a volcanic stone bowl that keeps it perfectly warm and creamy far longer than a traditional bowl. It was absolutely delicious, and the portion was enormous. Honestly, six people could easily share it and still have plenty before the main course arrived. For our entrée, we ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was well-marinated, the presentation was beautiful, and both the rice and beans were excellent. Now for the few things keeping this from being a five-star experience. First, the tortillas. They tasted like packaged grocery store tortillas...think Mission brand. For me, freshly made tortillas are almost non-negotiable at a Mexican restaurant. When everything else is this thoughtfully prepared, packaged tortillas feel completely out of place. Second--and this is a hill I'm willing to die on--I ordered a Diet Coke and was told they only serve Coke Zero. I'm sorry, but those are not the same thing. Every Diet Coke fan understands this. Finally, the noise level was overwhelming. There was a soccer game on the TVs with the audio blasting throughout the restaurant. It was so loud that carrying on a conversation was difficult, and even hearing our waitress required her to lean in right next to us. This isn't a sports bar; it's a beautifully themed restaurant that happens to have a bar. The game didn't need to dominate the atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant is stunning, the food is very good, and the attention to detail is exceptional. If they started making fresh tortillas, offered Diet Coke as an option, and turned off the TV audio, this would be an easy 5+ star experience for me.

Wow, we decided to try Vidorra because we happened to be in the area, and I was not expecting this! The décor is really cool and actually reminds me of a place we used to go to that closed down--Hugo's Lost Colony. The outdoor patio and bar are amazing! It was a little warm when we went, but they do a great job circulating air and even have misters. I can only imagine how packed this place must get once the weather cools off. Tons of outdoor seating and the inside is huge as well. Service was spot on. We were greeted right away and went with the frozen house margarita (our server said it was better than the rocks version), and she was right--it was excellent. We also tried the guacamole. It was very tasty, but for the price the portion was a bit small, so I might pass on it next time. On the plus side, the chips and two kinds of salsa are complimentary--both were good, but I especially loved the smoky one. For my entrée, I had the three street taco plate with beans and rice. The portions were generous--I actually had a taco left over (and that's after filling up on chips and guac ). Pro tip: You can join the waitlist through Yelp. We walked right in and got seated on a busy Saturday night. Add Vidorra to the love list!

Checked out the Vidorra Rockwall for my birthday! Service : Staff's attentiveness: If you were celebrating a birthday or other milestone, the staff went above and beyond. We went on a slow dinner but the host led me to a small table in the middle of the room. I requested to be by the wall and mentioned it was my bday and they moved us to a more spacious table. Food: everything we ordered was so good. The samplers, the tacos and birrias. Will definitely go back and check their happy hour!

I came here with my family for happy hour and we were seated with about 5 minutes to spare before it ended, which was a nice plus. The ambiance was lively but still comfortable for conversation, and our server Franklin was friendly and attentive throughout the meal despite how busy it was. For drinks, I ordered a margarita on the rocks. While it was okay, it did taste a bit premade and watered down rather than fresh, which was a little disappointing given the happy hour vibe. The food, however, was solid all around. We started with the loaded fries, which my family really enjoyed, and I also tried the guacamole and chicken flautas both were flavorful and satisfying. For the main course, Franklin recommended the trompa beef and pork tacos as well as the barbacoa tacos. Great suggestions, the tacos were tasty and well-seasoned, and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time considering the restaurant was packed. My family dad, wife, and sister appeared to enjoy their food as well. Overall, Vidorra Rockwall delivered a fun evening with good food, attentive service, and a lively atmosphere. The only downside for me was the margaritas not being as fresh as expected. Still, I'd recommend it for happy hour or a casual dinner with family and friends.

Veggie enchiladas without lime crema drizzle and breakfast potatoes instead of rice & beans

Rhonda M.

On a recent trip to Rockwall, my friends ate here for dinner and loved it so much that we all went back the next day for brunch. The decor is beautiful, prices are pretty reasonable (some items are overpriced in my opinion, but most are average to good for the quality), our server was helpful and friendly, our orders were made correctly, and everything tasted ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We especially loved the salsa verde that came with the big basket of complimentary chips & salsa. The other included salsa had a smoky flavor and was the less hot option. We ordered a frozen margarita, the noche tropical drink, the breakfast chimi, the chili con carne enchiladas, and the veggie enchiladas with some modifications to make it more veg friendly. All of their rice and beans contain meat, so if you're a vegetarian ordering the veggie enchiladas, ask to substitute a different side. They substituted a different side for me at no extra charge.

If you looking for a fun taco Tuesday to go to look no further. 2 taco and shot of tequila for $8 is the ultimate win! Food comes out super fast at the bar, server was nice and the place is so cool. They even have an outdoor patio with mist if you can stand the Texas heat! totally one of my normal Tuesday hangouts !

I like those resturant but not in my top Mexican resturants. I got a beef fafajita bowl. The beef was a bit tough. It had a good flavor. The bean were ok at best.I loved the ambiance. I felt like I was in Mexico City. The service was really good, our server was outstanding. One downside is its like a maze navigating through the resturant. There is very little room to move around. When our waitress went between our table and the table next to ours, she had to said excuse me because there was really not enough room to comfortably go between them. Lastly they need to eventually pave the parking behind the resturant read more

Parking on a dirt hill and a 45 minute wait. Seated at a table just slight larger than (2) serving trays with small uncomfortable chairs that didn't fit underneath. Tonight was our 11 year anniversary and we randomly decided to stop in for dinner at Vidorra. It was a little bit of a wait, which on Labor Day weekend is not surprising. One of the managers, Dominique, was helping at the front and noticed we had been there for a while, waiting, so she made sure we were sat within the following 10 minutes. She was very grateful and apologetic for the wait. While we were waiting, we were offered a complimentary drink, as well. Our table was great! It was on the patio, which was very pretty and beautifully decorated. Joe, our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and options. He was very attentive and courteous. When I didn't care for the drink choice I made, he apologized and swapped it out for me. The managers and leads were very attentive to the tables and checked on the tables often. Toward the end, Dominique came and checked on us and thanked us for our patronage and patience. The food was incredible! I had the Verde Molcajete and my husband had the Guadalajaran Quesadillas. Highly recommend both dishes! We will definitely be back again. read more

Since we were going to the show, why not go for dinner? I mean we have never been. Love that you can book reservations online. Super easy to get through the gate and it has amazing views. We were greeted by the host who was so kind. The place was super busy, I assume due to the show. So, we had to wait about 10 minutes. Table right in the middle of action... 1 min... 2 min... 7 minutes no greeting nothing and a woman walks by and says she will be right us. Cool. Thanks for letting us know. Walks past us 4 more times and nothing. The good thing is clearly someone else noticed and brought us water and said she was helping while the server got caught up. Okay. Everything will be OK. Whole ordering our drinks the server took over. Ordered drinks. App and 2 entrees. Then she was gone. 30 minutes after seating... nothing. Not even drinks yet. 32 minutes... she brings my husband's can of beer. No glass. No manhatten. She says they are working on mine. After 32 minutes (at least 20 minutes after ordering our drink)... can we have a glass? 5+ minutes later she brings me my manhattan... in a wine glass? Before I smell it I ask if its a manhattan because it looked like wine (damn good pour). Her response... I don't know. Never had one before. And still no glass. A. The Manhattan was fabulous and a ridiculously amazing pour. And for the cost... damn. Thats amazing. We decided she never rang in our drinks. Its the only thing that makes sense. It had really quieted down and the bartenders were working hard. And thats fine. But own it. Another 40 minutes and she stopped by once. Said our food was coming. But honestly haven't had a server who seemed to care less about her table in quite a while. Food came about 45 minutes after ordering. We ordered the Philly egg rolls... flavor was awesome. But they were cold. Clearly they had been sitting... for a while. Literally the cheese had melted onto each other and cooled. The entrees came at the same time. Smash burger and chicken fried chicken. Both honestly really good. The mashed potatoes were cold though... not sure if its because they werent kept warm in the prep station or if our plates just died waiting on server. Flavors were good though, including the gravy and fries. Good seasoning. We asked for ranch. Can you believe she never brought it? Nope us either. Seriously. The service was the worst we had in a while. It seemed exlusive to our table/server. I finally got her name at the end... Leandra. I am not trying to put her on blast everyone has a bad night. When my husband asked about the ranch. She said oh I forgot that too.. no apologies for that or the entire night. I said well it has been a rough night... she said yep. Here's the check. We are super nice... lots of grace... but this service made me almost want to not return. But... this is a small business trying to create something for our community. So im going to return oncs more and score is based on potential. But please owners.... staff is hard to come by, and maybe it was a rough night... but no one will survive if 30 minutes with not even drinks and cold food is acceptable. Brick and Bones Backyard is a blue house on the corner of Main St. in Rowlett, Tx, that has been transformed into something magical. This Mexican-Inspired "chicken shop" is offering fried & rotisserie chicken, classic cocktails, and live music in a rustic setting. The menu is diverse and offering all things chicken that is brined 24 hours, fried and can be order breaded or naked( for the gluten-free in you). They also have rotisserie chicken, tenders, sandwiches, salads, bowls and wings, along with unique sides. Poblano mashed potatoes, habanero mac n cheese, mexican corn, etc... often garnished with fresh radish and cilantro around out the menu, with top notch service to boot. Mi marido ordered the breaded fried chicken, mexican corn and poblano mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was well seasoned with a great crunch. The potatoes had good flavor, but were barely warm. I can imagine their greatness heated. The mexican corn on the other hand was the real elote deal! The fresh snap of sweet corn, dosed with cotija cheese and spices lives up to the hype! Sweet, spicy, savory, it hit all the flavor profiles. I had the naked chicken with an order crinkle fries(faves) which was greatly appreciated for it's gluten-freeness and flavor. However, it was abit overcooked. Which left it thready and a little dry. The sauce that accompanied it, was needed, but shouldn't have been, while the fries were fresh, but undercooked. The concept and flavors make Brick & Bone standout on the chicken front. Better execution can make it a cut above the rest. Check It Out!

I had an absolutely amazing experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Jake. From the moment we were seated, Jake went above and beyond to make sure our entire dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. His professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine personality made a lasting impression on us, and I genuinely believe he deserves recognition for the incredible service he provides. Right from the beginning, Jake greeted us with a welcoming attitude and a genuine smile. He made us feel comfortable immediately and approached our table with an impressive balance of friendliness and professionalism. What really stood out was how naturally he interacted with us. He didn't make the experience feel forced or rehearsed. Instead, he made genuine conversation, paid attention to our needs, and created an atmosphere that made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. Throughout the entire meal, Jake demonstrated an exceptional level of attentiveness. He consistently made sure our drinks were full, checked on our food at the appropriate times, and ensured that everything was exactly how we wanted it. He was incredibly observant and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even had to ask. Despite what appeared to be a busy environment, he never made us feel rushed, neglected, or like we were inconveniencing him. His ability to manage his responsibilities while still giving our table such personalized attention was genuinely impressive. Another thing that made Jake stand out was his knowledge and confidence. He was able to answer our questions, provide helpful recommendations, and explain menu options in a way that made our decisions easier. He was patient with us, never made us feel pressured, and took the time to ensure we were satisfied with our choices. His confidence and understanding of his job were evident in every interaction. What truly separates Jake from an average server, however, is his personality and the effort he puts into making people feel welcome. He has an excellent sense of humor, knows how to read the atmosphere, and understands how to make customers feel comfortable without being overly intrusive. He was friendly without being unprofessional and attentive without constantly interrupting our conversations. That kind of awareness is something that genuinely makes a difference in the overall dining experience. Even when he wasn't directly interacting with our table, it was clear that he took his responsibilities seriously. He maintained a positive attitude, handled everything with patience, and continued to provide excellent service. His work ethic and dedication were apparent, and he carried himself with the kind of professionalism that any restaurant would be fortunate to have on its team. By the end of our visit, it was clear that Jake had played a major role in making our experience memorable. Great food is important, but exceptional service is what makes people want to return to a restaurant, and Jake delivered exactly that. He didn't simply take our order and bring us our food; he created a welcoming experience that made the entire visit enjoyable. I sincerely hope management recognizes the effort Jake puts into his work. Employees like him are valuable because they represent the kind of hospitality that keeps customers coming back. His positive attitude, attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care for his guests are qualities that deserve to be acknowledged. If every dining experience were handled with the same level of enthusiasm and dedication that Jake demonstrated, restaurants would have a much easier time earning loyal customers. I would gladly return and request Jake as my server again. He truly made our visit exceptional, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

Vidorra in Rockwall, TX is a fantastic new upscale Mexican restaurant that offers a dining experience you won't forget! From the moment you walk in, you're transported to the vibrant streets of Tulum, with its chic décor and relaxed, tropical vibe. The ambience is elevated by stunning lake views that make it a perfect spot for both casual and special occasions. One of the standout features is their margarita flight, offering a variety of refreshing flavor options, perfect for sampling or sharing. As for appetizers, the queso blanco is a must-try, served piping hot in a traditional molcajete, bringing authentic flavors to the table. The beef empanadas are another favorite, crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned on the inside, complemented by a rich consommé for dipping. For the main course, the street taco combo plate is a great option, offering five different meat choices to suit every palate. The beef birria tacos, filled with tender meat and melted Oaxaca cheese, are a standout--especially when dipped in the flavorful consommé that adds an extra layer of indulgence. The waitlist feature on Yelp is highly recommended, as this popular spot fills up quickly, and the convenience of the app ensures you can enjoy your meal without a long wait. Whether you're sipping on a margarita or savoring their expertly crafted dishes, Vidorra is a gem in Rockwall that's sure to impress. read more

Finally, Rockwall has a spot open past 10 o'clock serving legit, bomb-ass food--and I couldn't be happier. The atmosphere is awesome, and if you've just been bouncing between places like Manny's or Casa Mama... you're seriously missing out. I stopped by the bar for a quick bite and was lucky enough to be served by Maria. She was on it--prompt with my drink, got my food order in right away, and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. Honestly, I don't know where they found her, but she's a total rockstar behind the bar. Watching her work is like watching a magician--fast, smooth, and entertaining. If you go, do yourself a favor and ask for Maria. Management even stopped by to check on me, which just shows the level of care they're putting into this place. And let me just say--the chips and salsa are dangerously good. The smoky spice they use is addicting. I'm pretty sure I'll gain 11 1/2 pounds just from going back over and over again for that alone. Bottom line: Rockwall finally has a badass spot to grab food, drinks, and great vibes late at night. Highly recommend. read more

I want to begin by expressing my appreciation for the exceptional service I received. Isabel was incredibly helpful, attentive, and delightful. However, I must address the disappointing food quality. The portions were significantly smaller than expected. I found myself questioning my eyesight as the portions were so tiny. While I would definitely return for Isabel's exceptional service, I would not choose the food again. The only item I would recommend is the queso. However, the tacos were too small, the side of beans was also small, and the rice was simply overwhelming. As a big back, I find it hard to believe that these small tacos would satisfy me. I would need at least ten of them to feel full. I believe that portion sizes should be improved, as I don't even think kids would be satisfied with there meals. I would suggest that customers sit at the bar where Isabel is located, as she truly deserves the recognition she receives. read more

I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday evening with a party of 12. Despite calling ahead a couple of times, we were surprised to find there was no waitlist available, and we ended up waiting for over an hour to be seated. Once we were in, the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. The waitress who served us did a fantastic job--she was friendly, attentive, and handled our large group with ease. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. While everyone in our group agreed the fajitas were the best part of the meal, the rice and beans were barely touched. After just one bite, all 12 of us decided they simply weren't edible. In summary: great service and a nice atmosphere, but the quality of the food--aside from the fajitas--was lacking. If improvements are made in the kitchen, this place has the potential to be much better. read more

Food is excellent! They have vegetarian options like the spinach enchiladas which are cheesy and fresh. I also ordered the cheese enchiladas, nachos & guacamole (perfect) and a big bean and cheese burrito to take home. The dessert was churros for me and the Bailey cheesecake for my sister. Cheesecake was yummy! Churros were warm and tasted like they had been cooked to order. I have nothing bad to say, since even the chips were so delicious that I didn't stop eating them! The green salsa was amazing! Waitress was so nice, I swear she must have been a wonderful person inside because it totally seemed natural. Great food, seating was fast even though it was busy. Came here soon after they opened. Located near the harbor district, the good thing about this location is that they have ample parking, which is otherwise a nightmare at the harbor. We joined the waitlist remotely and were seated promptly upon our arrival. The outdoor seating has lovely natural light and a very tropical/garden vibe, I loved it! It was an enclosed area so you don't get any outside wind. We were seated promptly but I think our server forgot about us. After a few allpologies, we finally ordered out food- we got two molcajetes. Food came out quickly and was served hot. It was a lot of food and although the flavors weren't anything too new or exciting, we enjoyed our meal. We would return for the nice atmosphere and food, but service probably needs to work out a few kinks. read more

My family ate here yesterday afternoon around 2:30 for my son's 21st birthday. The service was exceptional, the food was stellar, and the atmosphere was honestly cool AF. I cannot remember my servers name, but I appreciated his hustle. He did a great job of upselling but not overselling, suggesting and not pestering, and the whole while we needed nothing at all because he was already on it. Classic pre-covid service. The manager served us drinks and free shot samples while we were on the wait, both managers on duty touched our table and checked on us several times in a non-obtrusive super casual way. My wife and I had seen Vidorra as we frequently drove by, so finally decided to give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, food quality, and very attentive/friendly service by Cris. We had lived in Santiago de Chile for a year and I fell in love with Empanadas there. He kept a close eye on us, and our drinks were never empty. Cris was very friendly and we felt welcomed throughout our stay. We plan to return soon for another great experience. read more

We LOVED Vidorra! Seriously everything was amazing. My wife and I just flew in for a family visit and her cousin said to meet at Vidorra. Right away the yellow and black building looked like a great vibe. Walked in and the atmosphere was so great. We got in early - and so glad we did because the Happy Hour is BOMB. Half price apps, beers and margaritas! My wife loved the flautas, but I was all about the birria empanadas. Perfect texture! And best of all our server.Dulce went above and beyond to be so helpful and so attentive, and just really made the experience. All that and a sunset view over the lake!! We will definitely be back! read more

Vidorra was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, the drinks were fantastic, and the entire atmosphere was such a vibe. From the moment we walked in, the energy was fun, upbeat, and welcoming. The restaurant has a great ambiance that's perfect for a date night, girls' night out, or just a fun evening with friends. The service was friendly and attentive, and everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavor. Between the beautiful setting, great music, and incredible food and drinks, it made for a memorable experience. I can't wait to come back! Highly recommend if you're looking for great food and a fun, lively atmosphere! read more

As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted, seated and brought chips and salsa which I devoured. For starters, we had the guacamole salad and queso. We had to stop eating the queso and guacamole to save room for the main course because it was that good. My wife ordered the ground beef and shredded chicken enchiladas with all the fixings. They were very good with the red sauce and Spanish rice. The beef had a very good seasoning and the chicken had a taste like it had been marinated for a few hours. I had the beef fajitas. The beef was tender, succulent and seasoned well. The only thing that I didn't like was that the fajitas had a sweet taste to it. I believe the sweet taste was from sweet bell peppers or sweet onions, nevertheless, it was too sweet for my taste buds. We enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed the margaritas and the starters, but next time, I'll try some shrimp nachos. I give Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant three out of five drinks. Cheers!

My wife ordered the loaded hash brown plate with over-easy eggs. She enjoyed it, although it had quite a few onions. Overall, both meals were very good. With both entrées, a coffee, and a pomegranate mimosa, our total came to just $38.40. For the quality of the food, the friendly service, and the reasonable price, we'd definitely come back.
