Let me tell you about the staff and service. Service: Dominique at the Rockwall location has her team firing on all cylinders. In a time when good service is difficult to find, the service and staff here is on point. Every single time we've gone we've had the best service. Food: Top notch and quality. There are not many restaurants I order different things, because I usually get what I know I will like. I've been here multiple times and have ventured across the menu and there is not a bad thing I've had. Their Verde Molcajete Bowl is AMAZING. Tons of flavor and perfect spice/heat level. Didn't much care for the wait list option. But I guess it's better for their business, they can fill the seats quickly. We put in within plenty of time. Just don't like arriving, finding parking and waiting outside in the heat. Food was very good, service was excellent. Patio was a little warm on Saturday evening. What a refreshing addition to Rockwall! You are immediately transported into a tropical setting that feels very much like you are dining in a fine Mexican Resort! The staff are very accommodating and the service is the best I have experienced at a local restaurant in a very long time. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. The bar area is also set up perfectly with ample seating and food service is available there as well. The patio again- feels like you're dining in a tropical paradise. Had a decent sized group for an event and we were only given 1 server for 30 people, she was able to attend everyone but missed several drinks that were ordered. I don't blame her but unfortunately she was managing 6 tables by herself. The food was great however the service was just not there and very slow. read more

Read it all please: So i'm honestly torn between how many stars to give because our server was pretty much non existent. We saw him maybe twice, once for an apology and once to promise us a water refill that never came. We were there for a total of 1hr and 40 minutes and the only reason we got our food was because of the manager Dominique. She was honestly amazing, she was not only apologetic (for things out of her control - other servers and kitchen being backed up) but she was result oriented. She hustled and made things happen; she made sure we got our food and drinks and were taken care of. She also let us know this is not the normal standard of service. As we were leaving I saw her working expo, honestly I don't know what she is being paid but she deserves more. The food, when we got it, was hot a delicious. Husband and I decided to try this place today for lunch. Soon as you walk in I was greeted with big smile and thank you for coming in for lunch. Inside was nice and good size menu as well as lunch menu. Started with some queso blanco and do not touch the molcajete bowl it is a hot 400 degrees. Chips were seasoned with smoke salt and a green salsa and house salsa. We split the 3 street taco plate added rice & charro beans which didn't disappoint. I also tried there versions of a Paloma which was pretty good as well could use tajin and little more tequila for me. Will be back to try it again and let's hope parking gets better. Mind you we got there right at open today 11:00 and left by noon on and already about 15 people waiting and full parking lot. Food was wonderful as always, but what stood out the most for us tonight was our awesome waitress, Dani, at the Rockwall location! We had a large group of 17 for our son's bday. There was not one empty cup in-front of anyone ever and every need was meant rapidly and believe there were many. She was a rockstar! This location is a must visit. My family and I love the food and ambiance. A gem tucked into the hillside. The food is fire and the staff is awesome! Margaritas... get them. The QUESO definite! The chips OMG I could have a bag of them a day. Fajitas . Can't talk enough about the food. From the plating, the care and the tastes. Arrived bout 530 for a 6pm reservation, greeted at the door and told if we wanted to be seated early they could make it work. We ordered the queso and it was delicious, so were both the sauces they bought with the chips. As usual I forgot our servers name 2 minutes after she told me but the service was outstanding. I had the carne asada tacos and the meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly, ball and chain ordered something but can't recall name of it but she said it was delicious. One of the managers, Mary came by and we chatted a bit. Told her how much we enjoyed the meal and love the interior decor! Overall rating: 3.5 stars 4 for food 3 for experience Came with a party of 8, and was able to be seated right away upon entering our names on the waitlist. However upon entering, we were told they did not have anymore high chairs available and that they would bring them once available. We had 2 one year old active babies with us. Despite having no high chairs, they seated us outside by the booths in the sun. Took about 15 mins for the sun to finally move :/ the restaurant itself was very elevated tho and a great place to take pictures. Our server was nice and asked if we were celebrating anything, which we said our friends baby just turned one! (Spoiler alert, they didn't do anything special for the birthday.) about 15 mins in, i had reminded our waiter about the high chairs and she was only able to locate one. It was quite difficult to eat our food with a very mobile baby, so my husband and I had to take turns eating.. but that's parenting.. For the food, the food was surprisingly good for being in Texas. I got the sour cream chicken enchilada which was good! I'm not a huge sour cream fan, but the dressing made the enchilada creamy and moist. My friend got a salad.. which after ordering it he wishes he got something else.. they basically cut a whole slab of lettuce in half expecting him to cut the lettuce with a butter knife lol. Our server was nice, but we had to get his attention for anything we needed. Like for the other people at the table to order, lol! The ambiance of this place is absolutely incredible, but the food and the service need a lot of work. Even with a reservation, we waited about 20 minutes to be seated (understandable, we a were a party of 11), but after landing at the table, it took another 20 or so to get our food order in. Plenty of chips and salsas were served as a distraction, but we had to make a point to ask for them to take our food order... Followed by at least 45 minutes of a wait for the food to finally come. The drinks were okay, but they were premixed cocktails and you could tell (server confired that they were pre-made). Unfortunately, the food wasn't really up to the standard we expected either. Everyone who ordered various types of enchiladas couldn't even eat them. We wanted to love the place, but there's a lot of work to be done to live up to the standard of the incredible atmosphere. With service, the wait staff was really friendly and accommodating, but we had so many dishes piled up on the table that they didn't clean up until the end (big ass empty hot cheese bowls taking up the table for the entire dinner), it was hard to find a place to put the entrees down. I finally tried Vidorra Rockwall Sept 9,2025! The place is a beautiful restaurant and that is about it! We were seated quickly for it was a Tuesday afternoon not many folks were there. The waiter brought us water and told us our server would be right with us. He asked if we wanted anything other than Water? I asked what do you offer? He went thru a list and I said I will take Lemonade my wife was okay with water. He said we have no lemonade after offering it in his List? I said can you bring lemon and sweet n low and he brought us a bowl of lemon slices!!! We ordered the lunch menu items Chicken Quesadillas and I ordered sour cream chicken enchiladas. I asked the waiter about the chips? What is on the chips and he said he has no idea? Salt , pepper, other spices I guess???? He offered no other answers LOL. We got our food after a bit of a wait . The sour cream chicken enchiladas plate looked like it had been sitting somewhere for a while and it did not look fresh. My wife got some kind of sauce on her plate that tasted like Ketchup and mayonnaise??? The waiter had no Idea what the sauce was ??? The Quesadillas really had very little chicken and or taste t them. We ate and left with a surprise on our minds. No flavor in the enchiladas that were bland as well as the blob of black beans I guess were on the plate. We've been to this location several times, and all were great until this past week. Are waiter was good, but... We sat near the bar and saw some things that would make The star of Bar Rescue have a heart attack. We saw a waitress place her hand in a glass of water to remove a lemon and return it to a customer. The staff grab straws, that aren't wrapped and stir mixed drinks with them and hand them to customers. This is a heads up when you ask for a straw. We noticed a bar tender digging through the ice machine trying to remove some kind of trash. A molcajete we ordered was cold in the center but boiling at the same time. The steak inside the molcajete was a large piece that wasn't cut and may have been the frozen piece of meat that was placed in the boiling sauce. read more

Dominique, one of the managers stopped by and was kind and it was excellent to happen to over hear her thanking staff as they worked. I will say that the layout, the food and drinks need improvement so we will wait and give it 1 more try in another 3 to 6 months. The service was very terrible. The waitress was polite but passive aggressive. She asked all these questions except the one that would let her know that we didn't want a whole picture of margaritas for one person. It was clearly on purpose. She was barely around and we waited and waited for a while for any service. I would suggest any other location than the Rockwall one. We have been to others and they were infinitely better. I come to this Vidorra often after a long day. Joey is always very friendly and fast taking my order and asking often when I need something. I know this location is busy, well, all of them are, but I really like the friendliness efficiency and customer service. I love coming here.
