I had been planning on trying this place for a while so I was super excited to get in on an Elite event. Hubby and I made our way up there on a Wednesday around noon. It wasn't crowded but it was busy and buzzing. I opted for the Shrimp & Grits biscuit and hubby chose the Sausage & Gravy biscuit with a side of sausage and crispy potatoes. I also got to choose an extra biscuit as a bonus so I went with the Cheddar Jalapeño. They have a butter and jam bar so I grabbed some honey butter and blackberry jam to slather on my biscuit. Had to go to Fishers for an errand and stopped into Vicious. We've been to the location in Neptune Beach several times, and had been waiting for one in Indiana. My breakfast partner had the Old School with grits, eggs, bacon and a biscuit. I tried the bacon and it was outstanding. She said it was all very good. I got a make your own breakfast bowl, with fried chicken, eggs over easy (I had already broke the yolks by the time I remembered to grab a picture), grits and white cheddar cheese. It comes with a variety of sauces, but I chose to forego that option. Also opted for a biscuit on the side. The bowls are excellent, and you can customize to your tastes. I love their grits. And the biscuit is enormous and they have a jelly/jam bar to get some toppings. Ordering is at the counter and there was a line out the door today. I ordered the Vicious and a toasted coconut latte for carry out (with my sauces on the side). I love jalapeño cheddar biscuits first of all, the chicken was seasoned perfectly and a nice crispy breading. The sausage gravy was good but the sausage was honestly overkill. All the flavors blended so well together. The following day my daughter and I went to have lunch and we both had the sweet potato waffle and chicken. It comes with a honey mustard and maple syrup and again, the flavors paired together perfectly. There was a butter/jam bar with flavored butters and jams and the apple pie butter was delicious! Delicious biscuits!! I popped in today right before close to grab something quick and ordered the SEC which is one of the more basic biscuits but it was sooooo good. The biscuit itself is light, fluffy, buttery and just SO good. I also ordered the beignets which were fried very well. Some places leave them in a little too long and the beignet becomes a bit tough but these folks have gotten it right. I'm not a shrimp fan so I can't give my personal feedback but my 13 year old son inhaled the shrimp & grits bowl and said he wished he'd gotten another. The decor inside is cute. There's a wall that has hilarious quotes about the food and I cracked up reading them as we waited for food. My first experience at Vicious Biscuit. Two friends and I came for lunch. We had decided to come for lunch rather than breakfast because we thought it would be less busy, but the place was completely packed. There was only one empty table available after we placed our order at the counter. I ordered pimento cheese grits and a cheddar jalapeño biscuit. The grits were excellent, topped with a generous mound of pimento cheese. My biscuit was good as well, but I was disappointed that the famous "Jam Bar" was badly in need of attention. The regular butter was scraped all the way to the bottom and some of the jam was nearly empty too. The bar was fairly sticky and messy. Also, by the time I went to get silverware there were no knives available. Plenty of spoons but no knives which are necessary for buttering biscuits. Apparently the first person in our group to go to the bar got the last available knife so the three of us shared it.. And yes, we could have flagged down an employee to ask for knives but they were so busy delivering food that we didn't want to bother them. We all agreed that our food was excellent. The environment was very noisy, definitely not conversation-friendly. My friends and I frequently dine out for breakfast but we like to enjoy a leisurely meal with conversation. This is not an environment where it is comfortable to linger for a relaxing meal. Don't let the line out the door during busy times scare you - this place is an experience. After waiting around 35 minutes during the Sunday brunch rush, and getting some directions on how the line works, my group was at the checkout counter. Michael, the manager, entertained our line while also helping out the store, even being willing to clean tables. This is the 11th location and the original in South Carolina often has a 3 hour wait. Wowza! Basically you get a menu in the line to get an idea of what you want. Items are marked with symbols for spicy, fan favorite, and/of gluten free option available. There's fresh pressed OJ ($6, no ice as to not water it down, which I love), the machine is right behind the counter. While in line, an employee will ask how many are in your party and find you a table. He will put a number on it and come back to tell you what table you'll be at. Once you're at the counter, you order, pay, and provide your table number. Food is brought to your table. Water and silverware are self-service. There's also a jam bar with strawberry, wildberry, and blackberry jams, sweet potato, maple bourbon, and whipped honey butters, and apple butter. The food came out pretty quickly. I got the crab benny ($14), which was excellent, especially with the acidity from the fried green tomato. My husband got the flame thrower ($14). We got a plain original biscuit and cheddar jalapeño biscuit ($3.50/ea) to share, as well as the pimento grits, which are excellent grits with a scoop of pimento cheese on top. We liked everything but had to share with friends because you get STUFFED quickly on the food here. The staff was all great, not just Michael but our cashier Natalia, too. Just genuinely kind humans, excited about their jobs, which is not easy to stumble upon. Suggestion while they're busy: this isn't the place to stay for a long time due to the crowds and trying to get people in. We were not rushed out but were aware our table was needed so we didn't overstay our welcome, that's more what less busy places and coffee shops are for. Recommendations: prices aren't on the printed menu and this location isn't on the website yet so decided what all I wanted was tricky without prices (they're on the screens above the cash registers). I wish I knew sooner when to get a table and if someone isn't at the door, some people tried to walk in and accidentally cut, which was awkward. Maybe some signs? Also, more savory toppings for the savory cheddar jalapeño biscuit (which isn't spicy btw) at the jam bar. Overall a great place, great staff, okay pricing, funny sayings on the walls, okay parking if you use what's in the area, no waiting area (umbrellas available when it's raining, if you are okay waiting outside), and delicious (heavy, hearty, southern) food. I just tried Vicious Biscuit, located off 106th near the roundabout by I-69, and it's one of the newest spots in that growing development. I also had a vanilla latte with almond milk (the only non-dairy milk that they have -- the cashier also didn't know that almond milk is non-dairy). The omelet was okay! I wasn't unhappy with it but also wasn't something I'm eager to try again. The breakfast potatoes, though, were incredibly disappointing. They are diced very small so they cook very quickly. Well, they were so overcooked that it was somehow airy and crispy? Sort of cheeto-textured. My boyfriend had the mile high omelet and a biscuit on the side. Be prepared to wait! This is a new spot and everyone wants to try it , so be patient and be prepared to wait. Especially if you go at peak time. If you go when they open, you're golden. While we waited in line (outside and inside), the customer service was great! They offered coffee, samples and kept us updated on the wait times without asking. The owner, Steve, walked around and greeted everyone. He was appreciative of the crowd as they haven't had their grand opening yet. They have only been open about 3 weeks. The orange juice is so fresh and crisp! The coffee is delicious and they have a huge water station/coffee station. The have a Jam bar to choose your own butter /jam for the biscuits. Shrimp and grits were pretty good. Shrimp was seasoned better than the chicken. Fatboy was ok. The chicken was fried well but lacked seasoning. The biscuit is good and tastes homemade. The build your own bowl was my least favorite. The grits were lumped and thick like it had been sitting and the chicken on top was just a few pieces sprinkled. I wouldn't order that again. The food was a 3/5 for me but the customer service bumped my rating up to 4/5. read more

We finally got an opportunity to eat here this weekend. The service was fast, staff friendly, establishment clean and great decor. The prices are fair for the portion sizes and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend making a stop here if you are in the area. read more
