I usually order take-out but did dine in this time. We made reservations and were immediately seated. Our server, Ranjita was very attentive and helpful with our selections. Appetizers: steam paneer dumplings. The dumplings were steamed and soaking in a pool of a tomatoe chutney sauce that was amazing. Entree: shrimp kadai: a variation of curry but with more smokiness and depth. Paired with basmati rice and a side of rosemary naan bread made this a very savory and satisfying meal.

Good food and flavor. I like the fact that you can select your spice levels for the curry dishes. It took a while for food to come out, but server was nice. Many options to select from, will come back again.

Service was a tad slow, but overall, wow! Food arrived hot and fresh. Menu is huge. Can't wait to return to try new things. Wished it was closer to Carmel!

EVERYTHING I slurped, dipped, and pulled at #yak&yeti was so extremely pleasing that I forgot all about my tendency to prefer buffet-style dining at Indian restaurants. Perhaps that's because I've #gottenlost enough in them to know what I like and what to order... #Getlostindiana #Getlostindiana12K

Stopped here for an early lunch around 11 am with a friend and were the first people there! I highly recommend visiting for lunch if you want to be seated right away and enjoy the calm ambiance of this restaurant. The space is beautiful and I love that they have a tv by the front door showing stunning videos from the Himalayan region. I got the Masala chai and it was perfectly sweetened and warm for the cool weather outside. My friend and I ordered the chili yak momos and I am still thinking about them days later! We then wanted something that would give us a bit of everything so we ordered the non veg thali with lamb. I was ambitious and ordered a spice level of 6. I can handle spice pretty well but next time I would take it a notch down to 5. There was so much food included in this ordered and we barely made a dent by the time we left. The lamb was tender, the lentils tasty, and the cauliflower was the perfect addition! I love gulab jamun and was glad to see it was included with the dish! Our waitress was so kind and brought out a lot of carry it dishes so we could pack everything away neatly. I was happy to share some with my housemates and gave the rest for leftovers for myself! I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to go back again in the near future!

Located in a strip mall this restaurant looks like it might not be amazing, but inside it is very well appointed with dark wood furniture and comfortable atmosphere. The service was impeccabl, of course it wasn't very busy when we came, but the waiter was there with anything that we needed. We tried an appetizer with our lunch entrées, and it proved to be way too much food. The Himalayan spices from Nepal are very complex and full of flavors. Our "To go bag" was very large and more than fed the three of us the next day. I can't wait to come back again. The menu was a small book and there is lots to try!

So happy we decided to check this amazing place out finally. It's been on my list for a while and I have been missing out. You must try the Momos! We really enjoyed them and they could have been and entree, as the portion is large enough for two or three to split. Explore the Naan menu and feel free to ask the servers for their recommendations. Very friendly staff. Chicken Curry is some of the best I've had in Indy. All around incredible and full of tasty flavors. The Cumin Crackers to snack on while we waited was a good touch too!

When my oldest walked in and immediately said, "Wow, this place looks fancy," I knew we were in for a great experience. Yak & Yeti offers an inviting atmosphere that's both stylish and comfortable, perfect for a family night out. The food was reasonably priced, especially considering the fairly large portions. It was my first time trying yak, and the Spicy Yak Momos were an absolute delight--packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Their menu is impressively large and diverse, offering something for everyone. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a new dining experience, this place has it all. We left completely satisfied and are already looking forward to coming back to try more items from their menu.

I was extremely excited to try Yak and Yeti. I want to start with the good. The restaurant is very clean, we were immediately greeted. The menu is large and there are lots of options. My friend and I both ordered appetizers I went with the chicken momos and she ordered the chili chicken. The chicken momos comes in a sweet and sour broth. The broth was flavorless. I ordered the spice level 10 and it was missing spice. The momos were watery and needed to be seasoned. The chili chicken was tender but again lacked substance we were disappointed lack of seasoning everything so far was bland. For entrees she went with the butter chicken and I got the lamb curry. The chicken was disappointing and again lacking flavor. The lamb was again underwhelming not as spicy as I'd expect. All in all we left unsatisfied we barely ate our food and it felt like a waste of money. Service was fine but I'm not sure I'd go back.

    Interior- nice, quiet, and elegant.

For the life of me, I can't understand why Yak & Yeti isn't packed all the time! Amazing flavorful food, peaceful and beautiful atmosphere and reasonable price point. Curry, samosas, all the Nepalese & Indian options. HIGHLY recommend! Walk in the door & take a big breath. The aromas will fill your senses! Carry out is great, too!

What a delicious dinner experience! We've lived nearby for 3 1/2 years and sad to convey we're just trying this restaurant for the first time. Everything we tried was delicious. The service was excellent and we even tried a dessert which unfortunately was inhaled before I could snag a picture. (*Yelp informed me this location needed more pictures as we browsed the menu). The pics of the menu on this page are still accurate as of this post. So many items to choose from it was hard to decide! We selected spicy level 6 for our entrees, which was perfect for my palate and even my son & husband. Although they're much more tolerable of spice than I am, it was great for everyone at our table to share and eat family style with all selections. The dining room is quiet, clean and offers lots of booth or table seating, along with space for larger groups. They were flexible to accommodate my need to elevate my cast while dining, and one important but often overlooked issue is a clean (non layered greasy floor) while using crutches. Bravo! I'd rank 10/10 if it was an option: 1) no waiting to get a table on a Friday evening, 2) close parking, 3) quick service for a hungry girl, and 4) delicious! We will be back--- and also order take out. What a hidden little gem of a restaurant!

( 4out of 5) Visited Yak and Yeti recently, and it was a bit of a mixed experience but with definite potential. First, the positives: The ambience was lovely warm, cozy, and inviting. It really sets the tone for a relaxed meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the overall dining experience feel pleasant and welcoming. Also, the Thukpa was a standout! Rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying probably one of the best I've had in a while. Highly recommend ordering it. Now, a few areas that could use improvement: I ordered the non-veg thali, but it didn't quite live up to the name. It came with just one chicken curry, and the rest was vegetarian dal, gobi fries, achar, and rice. While everything tasted good, it felt more like a veg thali with a chicken side dish. I expected at least one more non-veg item maybe a second chicken curry or even a small chicken appetizer to make it feel more complete. Also, there was no roti or chapati, which seemed like a strange omission for a thali meal. Some kind of bread would've really tied everything together. Overall: Great vibe, great service, excellent Thukpa--but if you're going for the non-veg thali, just know it's a little underwhelming in the meat department.

Went to Yak and Yeti for the first time tonight. It was delicious. Trust the servers to guide you. Yak and goat for me, fried rice for mother in law, and Chicken and rice cooked in a copper pot for my wife, and chicken and fries for my picky son. Their menu is extensive and you can dial the spice from no spice to a smoking 10. And the Himalayan beer was refreshing.

The Vijayawada Chicken 65 Biryani was really good. It has great flavor, though the chicken quantity felt a bit less compared to the rice. Their salt & sweet lime soda was also nice and refreshing. On another visit, we tried both the veg and non-veg thalis. They were decent, not amazing, but good enough. The portions were huge. Honestly, they could reduce the biryani rice in the thalis and just offer refills to avoid food waste. My absolute favorite here is the juicy chicken mandi. I've tried mandi at a few places in the US, and this is one of the best I've had. The chicken is flavorful, the portion is great, and the rice is super aromatic. It comes with yogurt sauce, curry sauce, mayo, and veggies. It's only available on weekends, but it's definitely worth it. Overall, solid service and some standout dishes. I'd definitely come back for the Mandi.

My daughter and I went during the week at lunchtime. It only had a few other patrons seated. The interior felt a bit "bare", almost cafeteria feeling, but clean with ample room between tables. I ordered from their menu and my daughter couldn't decide (there are a ton of made to order menu items) so she selected the buffet. They also had a good selection of different flavored Naan Flatbreads, I wanted to try a few and ended up ordering 3; plain garlic and a peppered something. I love a good Naan but I always get it with Raita. I go pretty spicy and the Raita is a fantastic palet cooler. The server did not know what I was asking for. I think he went back and asked someone. ‍ The Naan was fire! And the Raita (while a bit runny) was very good as well. My daughter was very happy with her several small choices from the buffet. (She eats like a bird) She was also surprised by the quality of the food as Indian is her favorite. I had the Lamb Tikka Masala. It was a very large portion of both rice, lamb and masala sauce. Would have easily fed 2 people! I ate what I could.....about half. (Daughter got to take a pretty nice doggie bag back to Bloomington!) Spice, heat flavors and textures were very good! I will be back for sure! Lots of offerings and my next trip will include a Vindaloo option. (Or maybe Tandoori?) Much better than expected but not the greatest I've ever had. I still might have given 5 stars if the atmosphere was a bit less barren and the service was a bit slow considering there were only a few other customers in while dined. Worth the trip if you are in the area. Thanks for reading!
