This is just my personal experience and my experience alone. I am sort of a foodie/ restaurant snob who has eaten all over the world. To me this place doesn't know what it wants to be and it shows. Are you a high end bar? A bocce club? A restaurant? A fancy bar with fancier bar food? Either way to me what they are doing is not going well. Maybe I had the wrong perspective of this place before i entered or maybe it was how I perceived the place from the exterior but from the greeting to the staff to the food ,it was a let down. Again maybe I was just expecting too much out of my visit. Most likely i was expecting more for the price. At a certain price point i expect I anticipate a level of professionalism by the staff. Maybe they were new of maybe they didn't receive the training they needed. As for the food I there were many Greta sounding choices but the steakhouse burger stood out to me for that choice of the evening. I haven't had a great burger in quite some time and that night seemed like the night to do so. For me when I see steakhouse burger I always expecting a thick, juicer burger cooked to perfection ! What I received was what it seemed to be two thin frozen patties placed in a roll that definitely didn't need two hands to hold. Along with that came a side of frozen French fries . I mean it does not take much to cut a real potato and fry it. It is also not like the staff was busy pressing fresh meat into a lovely patty. We were SO impressed with this place! Our server Mia was delightful and attentive. The restaurant manager Chris was active on the floor and even came over to say hello and check in. The ambiance was funky and not loud. Great selection of scotch and bourbon and they were reasonably priced. But the best part.....the food. The ahi tuna was truly the best I've ever had. The fried cauliflower had a very unique and smashingly successful flavor. My steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked and my hubby's burger was great as well. Heckin YUM, had a great dinner here for my boyfriend's birthday. We had a reservation for a Saturday night and when we walked in there was a sign stating they weren't taking any walk ins, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a place to eat on a typically busy night. Our server was Ellie and she was attentive and polite throughout our evening. The owner(? Manager?) stopped at our table to make sure everything was to our liking as well. For appetizers we had French onion soup and the sweet and spicy cauliflower. Y'all... get the cauliflower. It may not sound like a game changer, but it was probably my favorite dish of the night. Sticky and sweet with a kick of heat at the end. We also had several cocktails, of note were the adios pantalones and bourbon smash, both of which were strong and tasty. I had the Buffalo chicken chopped salad and my SO had the bourbon burger with extra aioli on the side. The aioli l was excellent, great for dipping fries or extra bites of the meal. The check came with an automatic 20% gratuity which was a little unusual considering that we didn't have a large party, but not an issue since the service and food were excellent. I had been wanting to go here since they opened. Glad I finally made it in. We had a reservation for 5 people - was hoping for one of those big booths but I believe you need to request those. We were seated in the upstairs dining area. The ambience up there is a little less cool. I did not realize this place was related to Neat (which I LOVE). We ordered the Ahi Tuna for an app, split a bottle of cab, and split the Bourbon Burger and spicy sausage & honey pizza. Not a bad bite with anything. It was our first night in Buffalo, NY and my fiancé and I wanted to try out some food within walking distance of our hotel. When seeing Vice's menu we knew we had to stop by. The variety and quality is incredible. We started with a few appetizers. The cauliflower, the Brussels sprouts, the tuna, and the meatballs. Hands down, my favorite thing was the Brussels sprouts. They were crispy and the balsamic reduction was delicious. The tomahawk steak was huge and cooked to perfection. Our favorite part of our dinner though was our waitress, Carla. She is so personable, kind, and was happy to answer any questions we had about the menu or the area. I highly recommend this restaurant and be sure to ask for Carla! read more

Open space - didn't feel like the tables were crammed together. The server allowed us to take our time with the menu (we sat and had drinks/apps for about 40 minutes before ordering entrees). We all enjoyed our food. I had the mahi mahi and while the fish was just okay, the brussels with a kick of lemon were quite refreshing. The rest of the table enjoyed steak with their choice of sides, a margherita pizza, and a burrata salad with shrimp. A favorite of everyone's was the buffalo cauliflower. I could eat it like popcorn. I'm a sucker for sweets, so when my colleague mentioned dessert, I jumped on it. It was a tough choice for me between the Bills mafia cheesecake (red, white, and blue colored), chocolate chip cookie sundae and peanut butter pie. There was also an apple crumble pie which my partner ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. It was served warm so that the vanilla ice cream melted around it - a classic hit. I was happy with my massive pb pie. I thought I read something about it having a pretzel crust, but instead it was Oreo (I can't complain about that though). It was definitely enough to share, or you could always eat half of it at the restaurant and then succumb to the rest while watching a recorded episode of Jeopardy once you get home. Haha! This is a great spot to go to before an event at Shea's. I've been a customer at vice for many years now, but my most recent experience with them has definitely secured my patronage and loyalty. Last year in 2022, I worked with management at Vice to host our company summer gathering at vice. Fun fact: You are able to book events during the day when they are normally closed. This worked out perfectly for us, as most of our company events are done during work time. So I wanted to book the same venue again for our holiday party. Mia, the event coordinator, and Chris, the general manager, we're both incredible to work with. Work with. Mia handled all of the logistics ahead of the time prior to the party, and Chris was there on site to make sure everything we needed went smoothly. From the staff, to the food, to the service - everything was outstanding. Our CEO was impressed and extremely happy with the results of the holiday party. With a corporate group of over 80 people, we were able to utilize the entire restaurant for our activities and for our party. It was perfect. And the food - SO MUCH FOOD! We ordered a variety of food from the catering menu to make sure there was a little bit for everything for everyone, and they did not disappoint. Food and there was enough to even take food home. All in all, the entire experience was incredible. As a personal customer, I will be back. We decided to make reservations for dinner before seeing a show at Sheas. Vice is very prepared for this and they serve you quickly so that you won't be late for curtain up. Our server Cassidie was amazing and it seemed like she never left our table the entire time we were there. I like the industrial type look of the interior, and especially the split level seating areas and the bar area with multiple tiers of whiskey. I greatly enjoyed the bourbon burger and will be back again, hopefully soon. read more

I've been to Vice a couple times for events. This was the first time I tried any of the food. I made an attempt at their meatball appetizer. It surprisingly came out less than 5 minutes after the order was placed. Shocked at the quickness, I proceeded to eat and quickly figured out why they came out so fast. They were barely warm and tasted like they had been sitting somewhere for a while. Also be aware that they add automatic gratuity to all checks. So for some cold meatballs and two drinks the server received about $9. Vice is about a 25 minute drive for me from home so highly doubt a repeat visit. read more

I went to vice the first time a couple of weeks ago with my partner and I have to say this is the first new restaurant i was very wowed by in a while. Ambiance: The ambiance and energy of Vice is spectacular. Everything is industrial / modern. It is very cozy yet very energetic at the same time. I was excited to find out that they have indoor bocce ball leagues and courts. Bocce ball has been a long-time favorite activity of my family and it was cool to see. Food: The food and drinks were all amazing and worth every cent. For a drink, I got the Vice Mule, which had burbon, ginger beer, and pineapple juice. It was very strong and had a kick to it. I honestly couldn't finish it or else I would have been sick the next day, but that's just me being a lightweight. For an appetizer, my partner and I shared a plate of the hot pepper arancini, which was the reason I wanted to try vice in the first place. Arancini and stuffed hot peppers are two of my favorite appetizers and this perfectly blended the two. It was not too spicy and it was perfectly portioned. For dinner, I got a steak pizza. I can't even put in words how amazing it was and I honestly am disappointed I don't have some right now. The flavors were great, the steak was perfectly cooked, and the crust was amazing (and i'm not typically a crust gal). But wait there's more...The desserts at vice are to die for. I ordered the peanut butter pie and my partner ordered vanilla bean crème brûlée. The peanut butter pie was massive and had a huge piece of homemade peanut brittle on top. It was absolutely heavenly even if i could hardly finish it. My partner's crème brûlée was perfectly textured and honestly the best i have had in my life! Service: The hosts and our server were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. No complaints here. Overall, Vice is a great restaurant. I needed a restaurant to go to where I could reserve a table for eight people at kind of the last minute! Vice gets the prize for that one, they have so much space there we were able to make a reservation and change it I swear like two times! Lol all that said probably didn't even need a reservation even for a Saturday Night! I did love the cocktails in fact I felt like I had one or two and got pretty Buzzy in a nice way -lots and lots of drinks-def go here for a good cocktail! Looks like they got nice bar areas and I did like the woodfire pizza too! But I think everything else looked better than it actually tasted, not to say that it was bad! But just nothing to shout home about. For ex the appetizers-pics of them are what actually caught my eye in an ad on Facebook causing me to look them up and yes I had the very appetizers I saw in the add's pic, but did I feel I could live a good life without ever eating them again LOL, does that mean they tasted bad no. Haha But for what they don't deliver in greatness they compensate for in Fries! Fries galore! so many fries ended up on our table ! I would say you could avoid here the French onion soup, the pork tacos, and just beware that the crispy chicken sandwich does not actually come w/crispy chicken-- it is more looks like a honey drenched no crispiness in site chicken, tasty but not what you'd expect. All and all it wasn't a bad experience but i'd be more interested in going their future forward for cocktails versus making at my dinner destination read more

A top rated spot for a quick bite or a late night vibe. I frequent this spot bc it's so convenient and the atmosphere is great. I often find myself ordering the Brussel sprouts. Yes, that's right. They're literally amazing. They come drizzled in vinaigrette and doused in maple bacon. Although I'm quite sure the bacon is the star, I absolutely love the texture of the crisp Brussel sprouts. First time and very disappointed! My table ordered the barbecue butter chicken pizza with banana peppers. Our server brought out a pizza with minimal to no chicken. After expressing my disappointment, the manager offered to remake the pizza. The second time around was not a charm! Let's just say, that we ate a "veggie pizza" with barbecue sauce. Like the bar, like the location, like the service. This is definitely a good, fun spot to grab a bite and some drinks. Terrific for Happy Hour, too. The description on the internet is.... "bar and grill with burgers, wood-fired pizzas & other comfort food in an airy, casual venue with an industrial feel." The inside is nice, clean with a big beautiful bar with an extensive selection of whiskeys. Sat at the bar and ordered the following: Wood-fired Meatball (bourbon) - served on little beds of mashed potatoes. Very good. Surprised that I liked It so much. Wood-fired Meatball (marinara) - I like my Italian meatballs simmered in sauce, so this was just okay to me. The seasoned ricotta was terrific. Arancini - very nice heat. Appreciate when a dish I don't really like surprises me. This was a pleasant surprise. Crispy Shrimp - very nice heat. I liked it a lot. Pizza - Cup & Char Pepperoni - thin, delicious and surprisingly little grease for the amount of cheese and pepperoni. My wife LOVED it... and she knows her cup pepperoni pizza. For drinks, my wife ordered a Bourbon Smash and I had the Three Chord Highball. We like trying different cocktails and these were okay. For our follow up drinks she went back to her usual Manhattan and I went with a Michelob Ultra, so that tells you that we didn't like them enough to have another. The lavender lemonade was delicious, and the charcuterie board was a really good size for the price and also delicious. Definitely getting added to the list of my favorite charcuterie boards in Buffalo. The garlic bread and pepperoni was SO GOOD. Which makes sense because I've heard their pizzas are amazing. Tried Vice for the first time with a friend, and dinner was great! It's a pretty cool vibe in the restaurant. It's nestled in the Aloft hotel, with a large full bar. This building is close to my job, so my coworkers and I have stopped in a few times for drinks. The menu is large and accommodating to different taste preferences and diet restrictions. The pizza and flatbreads are delicious! Also, the clam chowder is to die for! Drinks are usually pretty strong depending on the night of the week, and the staff are all very friendly. For our company Christmas party, we had the upper level loft area to ourselves, and it was incredibly comfortable and we could be as loud as we wanted. A nice area for parties and gatherings. We emailed them beforehand and they were so very helpful in accommodating us. Everything went smoothly. A great spot for a date night, family dinner, or larger gathering. Must try!! read more

I came here with three other people. We got one of the four top tables on the ground floor. Seating is a little tight, but it wasn't too crowded there the night we went so it was OK. But if it had been a really crowded night the seating would've been too close for comfort given Covid. I asked and evidently unless staff aren't vaccinated they have to wear a mask. So presumably everyone who's walking around there that staff is fully vaccinated as none of them are wearing masks. I ordered the butrata because the description was very nice. It was very very good. However it didn't have any figs or tomatoes so i'd probably ask the server what its being served with tonight. At the table we also had an order of the salmon over some sort of rice dish which was deemed very good. The scallops ordered by someone else redeemed OK. The seared tuna appetizer was very good. Overall this was a good meal, I think they have a very large menu, and it's unclear to me they can make all of those things equally well. They have some pretty high-end dishes, and then they're down at the pizza burger level as well. I assume that's about meeting many different audiences needs, but it does make me wonder about consistency, and being able to do all things really really well. Very extensive whiskey list which made one of our table very happy. Pretty extensive beer and wine list as well- it all looked very very nice. The reservation system is confusing at best, challenging at worst. They really should have someone who actually answers the phone. But they don't. I believe they had a dress code posted, but it's clearly not well advertised or enforced. I don't know if they do takeout, but I'd probably be interested in that if they do. Not sure I'll choose to eat in again, loud music, very odd serving, we had to ask, TWICE, for cutlery after food arrived. Why not simply bring out cutlery when people are seated? Don't make them wait for it when food is on the table. Serve dishes at the same time, we had some served quite a while before others and their food cooked as we waited for the rest of the table. I don't think this was a staffing issue, felt like a disorganization one, after the cutlery issue. read more

Conveniently located right under Aloft Rooftop, and in the heart oof the city! Parking, as you can imagine, is every where around you but plan on paying for it. Parking lots now have an app (Park mobile app) that you'll have to download on to your phone and then pay that way. I heard this restaurant doesn't take reservations (how can that be possible?), so we walked in and put ourselves on the list. It was very busy! We were told it would be about an hour wait, so we put our name on the list, gave them our number, then went up to Aloft Rooftop fro a drink or 2 while we waited. After getting the text that we'd be seated shortly, we cashed out at Aloft and went back down to the restaurant. Soon after, we were seated at a table. I ordered a drink, chicken wings, tuna tartare and clams. The tuna tartare was beautiful and delicious! The clams were actually on the salty side, and the wings were normal Buffalo wings (at my request). Overall, no issues or concerns with my visit (but my bill was almost $80!) read more

First and foremost Shy is a queen and deserves a raise and a promotion. Her spicy skinny marg is second to none and I would love to be her bestie if she would have me. Great time here at Vice, nice big booths with high walls for privacy, service was great with not just our server but several others removing plates and asking how everything was. Everything came out at once and by the time we were ready for the prosciutto and pear pizza (delicious btw) id was kinda cold, asking to have it put back in the oven for a quick re-heat was not a problem. We went for food and drinks after a show at Shea's on 12/29. I've been here twice before and I was not too impressed with the quality of the food. We've been to Neat on Transit Rd countless times and the menus are almost identical. This was around the time that Vice opened. After this visit, I HAVE to give them 5/5 stars for incredible service and delicious food! We were greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked in and we didn't have to wait long at all for a table. We both ordered the bourbon burger, which was amazing and craving it now as I write this review at 9AM on a Friday morning. I wish I took a picture of it. The burger alone took up half the plate. The rest consumed by french fries, blue cheese (of course), and aioli sauce! The server, Dan F., was nothing short of exceptional. He didn't bother us constantly which we always love and made sure we were enjoying our visit. The manager came by to also check on us and we told him how great the atmosphere was and that our server was awesome. Glad to see he was pleased by the compliments!! This restaurant definitely has the potential to be a Buffalo hot spot. Was kind of surprised to see how crowded it was. No real social distance measures set at the bar. They did seat us in a nice area in the back of the restaurant where our 9 ladies were able to converse easily. The menu is similar to Neat in Amherst . Lots of burgers, pizzas, and whiskey drinks. I ordered a loganberry tea cocktail. That I really enjoyed, it was nice and refreshing. I ordered a chopped salad with dressing on the side . The salad was good, however it contained red onions which was not described on the menu. I picked around them. I also ordered a bucatini pasta dish. It came with sausage and spinach in a sundried tomato cream sauce -and you guessed it- more onions! (not advertised) This time there were a ton of them , I'm just not a fan. However, the pasta did have good flavor after I removed them all. The pizzas seemed like the favorite at the table - they are huge for $18.50, but I just wasn't in a pizza mood. A burger order was prepared wrong but was comped off our bill. The service was decent considering it was a hectic Friday night .
