My 2nd time coming back in just a few weeks... that must mean something. The Loaded Tater Tots is something I will always order when I come here. I absolutely recommend. I got the classic wings with blueberry bourbon bbq sauce and they were PERFECT! Dave, our waiter/bartender was amazing. Part of the reason I came back for a 2nd go-round. Great attitude, laughed with the table, and made my party of 6 feel welcome. The dining area was big and tables are spread apart to give diners space. My group can not wait to go back again! See you soon!

First time here and I will definitely return. Great menu and outstanding bourbon selection. Super nice owner who is very knowledgeable on all things bourbon and barbecue. A hidden gem!

The food was yummy. I would definitely come back. The service was pretty good and attentive. The ambiance was ok. We got the Pitmaster Platter and added the pulled pork. The corn cake was my absolute favorite. It really had a pancake texture, but tasted like corn bread. yummmm. The hush puppies were spicy, but good and the sauce was great. The mac n cheese was yummy. My second favorite was the sausage links. The collard greeeens. Will def order those again! I like that it all came on a tray as is. We ate directly off of the wax paper lol. The Pitmaster platter was more than enough for 2 adults and we had some left overs. Will definitely eat here again.

There's no shortage of Kentucky Borbon story lines in this bar - all of them originating from the enthusiastic owner/operator, Greg Herzog. From his tiny, custom Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel to his association with Harlan Wheatley (Master Distiller at Buffalo Trace Distillery in KY), Elmer T. Lee (credited with introducing Blanton's Single Barrel) and even his patronage of "Pappygate" black-market bourbon from the infamous Toby Curtsinger, Greg is a proven Bourbon aficionado. Combine that with Greg's passion for smoked meat and wings and the Wing Kings could barely contain our excitement for Roaming Bison Tavern. We'll honor Greg's passions with Google's most popular Kentuckyisms. Location: 5 / 5 Greg epitomizes southern hospitality. This Kentucky saloon is clean-as-a-whistle and the bourbon is plentiful but this place would have earned a perfect score here for story-telling alone. Presentation: 3.5 / 5 We always appreciate a little TLC in the presentation. Porcelain, carrots, celery and the like. Ain't no gumption in plastic baskets with wood bowls. Meat: 3.5 / 5 We had a hankerin' for some plump wings and these were a smidge tiny. Cook: 6.5 / 10 Two different styles were on display with traditional fried wings and smoke style. This meant two very different experiences. Medium had a great crispy exterior and moist interior. The smoke-style was extremely dry - pert neer jerky. Apparently the wings are pre-cooked in the morning then finished to order which can lead to overcooking, we reckon. Standard medium: 12 / 15 Pretty standard experience; great flavor, good sauce application, but could have been spicier. Specialty wings: 6 / 10 Fair to middlin here. Nashville style were crispy but bland. Alabama style seemed like a combination of mayo and BBQ which was interesting; two thumbs up and two thumbs way down from the Kings. Smoked BBQ were a tad boring. Blueberry Bourbon were something new; pretty good, apparently award winning but only if you LOVE smoke. Lots of credit for the unique smoke style but truthfully, they were dryer than a popcorn fart. Final score: 36.5 / 50. Bless your heart Y'all come back for the next review real soon.

Who goes to the BBQ spot and gets fish? Well, I do now! I've been here a few times, and the BBQ is very good, so I thought I'd try a Friday fish fry, and it did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly fried and seasoned so well. Great side options. Make sure to wash it down with a nice Bourbon. They have one of the best selections of bourbon in the area with reasonable pour prices.

Food - 4 Service - 5 Price - 4 Atmosphere - 4 Since the birth of my daughter, I've had a few things to check out when things calmed down in my life. The list consists of travel, restaurants, movies, and a few other things for my bucket list. Recently I remembered that I never saw Avengers End Game and I never visited Roaming Bison. I'm so glad that I finally go around to both. You can see my ratings above for each attribute but, I just wanted to say this. I can taste the love and the smoke in the food. I'm a rib guy and the ribs were fantastic but the brisket is probably the best that I have had in a long time here in WNY. They were juicy and, you could taste and see the smoke ring. Also, you have to get the hush puppies. They are freaking delicious. I enjoyed the collard greens as well. My only issue is due to my preferences. I love beer. They have it but it's just a few staples. I wish the list had about 8 to 10 beers that paired well with the food. Besides that, I am so glad I forgot about this place. Now after my next visit on a Saturday night I can come home and watch End Game. If you haven't Roaming Bison then you need to. You will not be disappointed. Reviewing more items will be a challenge. My meal was so good I don't see myself getting anything else for quite some time.

Extremely happy to write this review because of the great experience we had here, and for what this owner / restaurant is doing for the community. Looking from the outside as you drive through the neighborhood it is easy to assume that you are driving past another shady dive bar, and to proceed with your night without giving a second off further thought to stop in. You could not be more wrong. We dined here Friday evening, and couldn't be more pleased with our decision. We read the reviews online and looked at the photos and decided to give it a try in the name of good local BBQ, and we found a new top 10 restaurant experience to put on our list. Stepping through the door you instantly scan the room and take in the space; the warm greeting from the staff, the one hundred plus bourbons around the room, and the hours of work with the woodworking from floor to ceiling. We felt like we were welcome friends who had dined here hundreds of times even though we had never been here before. We took a few minutes to go over the extensive drink menu, and once we settled on two good options we set to trying to make up our minds on which homemade BBQ we would try out. The waitress Heather made some suggestions, and we ultimately opted for a brisket dinner, and a smoked and loaded bologna sandwich. It is safe to say neither disappointed, and both were eaten almost as fast as they appeared. As a self proclaimed BBQ enthusiast, I ordered my brisket with sauce on the side so I could take in the smoke and wood flavors from the cooking process. This was genuine hand smoked meat, low and slow, pink smoke ring and peppery bark exterior- big thumbs up. During our meal the owner came over to introduce himself, and tell us his story- you could hear in his voice the passion he has for his craft, and for fine bourbons. It was wonderful to hear how he prepares the meats, and some stories on how he curated the selection of bourbons that were available. Ultimately we left after a much longer stay than we planned- filled with good food, tasty bourbon, and a new favorite spot to see a new friend that shares a passion for bbq and bourbon, but most importantly vision. At any point along the way corners could have been cut with the renovations inside, the menu, the bar, but he chose not to. He chose to open in a neighborhood that most people extract money from with poorly run businesses and predatory practices. He chose to open a quality restaurant, invest in the neighborhood and share his passions. A big hat tip to that; we will be back many times, with more people to support you.

This event is great! $45 gets you tastings (in your own glass given at entry ) of over 200 whiskies at various booths. It was jam packed but I never found waiting for a tasting to be an issue. Lafayette was my favorite location because it was spacious. But Adams Mark was convenient because of its parking lot; even though me and my crew never drive during this lol. There's over 75 different types of liquor. I love whiskey and I'm not committed to one type. So this is the perfect event for people like me. Also, some of the distilleries offer more than just whiskey. There's usually scotch, gin, moonshine, and if you're lucky absenth (just a drop or in a mixed drink). I appreciate the fact that there's plenty of water at these events. The only thing I wish was there were more food/snack options. I've been to many wine tastings in the same venues and there's always cheese, nuts, crackers, and the occasional dip. At the whiskey fest you only have the option of paid food items that are over priced; you'd think there would be more with so much high proof alcohol. I did appreciate the coffee and donuts at the last one, but they were only available at the beginning. By the time you needed it, when you were about an hr into tasting and nearly drunk, snacks were nowhere to be found. I love that the vendors are always nice and knowledgeable. They even offer classes if you want further knowledge on specific topics. I also like that most vendors sell their products, but are very professional about it. Meaning if you really like something you can buy it, but they are not pushing products on you where you feel uncomfortable and inclined to buy. At about $45 for unlimited tasting, I definitely suggest trying it if you enjoy your dark liquors. I also suggest catching an uber/lyft, or having a DD. Oh...and bring snacks
