I have nothing. But great things to say about this restaurant. I read other reviews about how great the gluten free food was, so my husband and I made reservations. I was not disappointed. Our server, Sara, was extremely knowledgeable about gluten free items on the menu. She was also a great server !My meal was excellent. I had the steak and I can honestly say it was the mostly amazing steak I have ever eaten. For dessert I had the Worlds Best Risotto...and it literally was the world best. I came to via vite on a relatively crowded weekday for dinner. They were a bit slow with service despite that the overall quality of service was great. I'd say don't head here if you're in a rush. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful. Onto food, i found the appetizers absolutely amazing. Maybe it was the quality of the prosciutto but the two appetizers were absolutely amazing. SUCH a great meal. We had a top notch server- wish I could remeber her name--better at faces, what can I say? Had a great basic fresh brewed iced tea, so that's a damn good start. We tried the fig and goat cheese bruschetta which had great flavor, and my only criticism would be a little bit smaller bread (my personal ingredients ratio preference), but it still tasted great. The artichoke starter- also very nice. But the best was the halibut- OMG. Parchment paper prep on halibut is always a good ide, but with the medley of Mediterranean flavors- omg, just outstanding. After we were seated, it took over 30 minutes to even order drinks. The server apologized and said there was a mix-up with who was our server. He offered us some complimentary drinks but we were not upset or anything, considering it looked like there were very few servers for very many tables! Besides the long wait and mix-up in the beginning, the service quality was great. We ordered the burrata with prosciutto + prosciutto service as starters - can you tell we like prosciutto?! Overall, this place was pretty good. I went with my mom and we both enjoyed everything we ordered. The prosciutto was great and such a good combination with the sourdough bread. The side salad was nothing to rave about, it was just alright and could have used more dressing. The bolognese was also good, and a much larger portion than I expected, between the two of us we definitely could have shared. The service was alright, our waitress was very attentive. However, the issue we had was it took 25 minutes after our appetizer to get our salads and then 35 minutes after our salads to get our entrees. On any other night this would've been fine, but we had a show to get to after, and our waitress even asked about this when we sat down. Ideally, we wanted to order dessert, but due to the time, we were unable to and had minimal time to enjoy our entrees. My friend and I decided to catch up over dinner spontaneously. Luckily, we were able to find a reservation here! We started off with the bread, which was hard - the kind that scrapes your palate but you keep keeping onwards. The octopus is phenomenal and the burrata was great. The latter actually comes with bread croutons so if I were to go back, I would only get that instead of the bread in addition. For our main course, I had the vodka pasta, which also had burrata on it, and my friend got the gnocchi. Our two sides were the brussels sprouts and the mushroom gratin, the brussels sprouts are very interesting. They're sticky chewy and sweet and honestly kind of addicting... My pasta ( see picture) was by far the best pasta dish ever and perfectly al dente. For dessert we got a banana bread pudding and a dark chocolate crème brûlée. I liked the texture of the bread pudding, but the flavor was a little weird. The crème brûlée is very dark, and very rich and comes with a little edible chocolate spoon. Oh, and we also got a scoop of grapefruit sorbet, which is the best flavor of sorbet you could ever have. It has real chunks of grapefruit in it. The scoop we got that night was a little more melted than I would've liked. TLDR: Came hungry, left satisfied. read more

At last minute on Friday, my husband and I decided we wanted to go out somewhere nice for date night. Knowing our options were probably limited, I looked at available reservations and Via Vite had an 8:15pm reservation that worked perfectly. We arrived around 7:45 and were invited to sit at the bar until our table was ready. I had the Strawberry Vespa and my husband had an old fashioned. Both tasted great! Exactly at 8:15, our table was ready and we were seated. Our server, Jericho, was fantastic throughout the whole evening. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and still gave us space to enjoy our evening. Ultimately, my husband ordered the 4 course tasting experience with the wine pairings. We both tried each dish and were continually blown away. I ordered the gnocchi with shrimp which was incredible as well as veal ricotta meatballs which were heavenly. This was my 2nd visit to Via Vite and it does not disappoint. Is it pricy... yes. Is it worth the piece... absolutely. Service is always spectacular with every detail taken into consideration. Wine pairings to appetizers, to a homemade pasta courses and main courses it is totally worth the experience. The decor is designed in an upscale open air 1920s vibe and allows for intimate events and or large celebrations. I was fortunate enough to be taken here on my birthday and it was wonderful to not feel rushed and the 2 1/2 hours that we were. Great service and the best bolognese, vodka pasta and desserts I've ever had. I love a good meat sauce and that's what you'll get here. We came in on a cold evening and were seated right away at the chefs bar which was an exciting treat. We had the opportunity to sit in on the wondrous adventures of a chefs world. My first night in Cincinnati, I was craving some kind of comfort food - and Italian always hits the spot. This place was within walking distance of my hotel, so I figured I'd give it a shot, especially since they had advertised happy hour specials. When I got there, the place was pretty packed. The hostess asked if I would prefer the bar or a table, and I said I didn't mind either way, so she sat me at a table. My server came promptly and helped offer suggestions about what was best on the menu. I ended up ordering the handmade gnocchi and added some sausage to it. It comes in a sort of parmesan cream sauce which I was worried would be over-powering, but it was a perfect balance to the pillowy gnocchi. This was some of the BEST gnocchi I've ever had - flavorful, charred just right, and melted in your mouth. After that, I had the dark chocolate creme brulee which was also amazing (and came with a little chocolate spoon - how cute is that??). So on the food, loved it. All of this I paired with a glass of their house Super Tuscan, which was a great pairing. Honestly, this would have been five stars for me had they informed me before seating me that the happy hour pricing was *ONLY* valid at the bar. Guess that's why so many more people were sitting there - but it felt like a bit of a bait and switch when I said I was coming in for happy hour, then to find out when I get my bill that you don't honor those prices when you are seated at table service. Kind of odd and put me out more money than I was expecting. So lesson Yelpers -- if you want happy hour prices, sit at the bar! As a newbie to Cincinnati this spot was chosen for our group by a local...but so glad we took their advice! After a conference on a heavy topic is was prefect to relax into the flavors of warmth and cream and Italy. It is a amazing Italian restaurant that I would drive the two hours to visit for dinner again! We did not have reservations but they seated us in a upstairs room despite being pretty busy. If you have a bigger group I would recommend a reservation, or if you would like to have one of the street level romantic tables. The waitress we had was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a rundown of everything on the menu. They were running a special with a three course meal for a reasonable price considering the quality and quantity of food. None of us chose that option but we did go with what the waitresses recommended of fennel as a starter/shareable. Amazing! We actually thought it tasted a bit more like creamy pasta but had the added benefit of being a vegetable! My meal was the pesto which had an unusually amazing flavor and great depth. I opted for house made fresh pasta and I highly recommend it. The sauce was so plentiful and tasty that I asked for some bread to get each last drop. The waitress was very accommodating and brought two pieces without any charge. It is those little things that made the night even better. The crispy gnocchi was made into a small plate/shareable for us, another star for the waitress and restaurant, and it was another delicious dish. The crispy shell gave texture to the rich sauce, we all loved it. Our meal was delicious and the overall experience very relaxing and enjoyable. We had reservations for Via Vite before going to see Book of Mormon. I really live the classy, elegant but not pretentious, feel inside Via Vite. The arancini is as good as I've had anywhere. I like the cacio e pepe spin on it. The meatballs, gnocchi, bolognese, and vodka sauce were all great dishes and the service was excellent as always. I'm continuously surprised that Via Vite seems to fly under the radar a little bit. Our group of six had an OpenTable reservation at Via Vite at 6 PM ahead of an 8 PM show at the Aronoff. We were seated quickly near the windows and greeted by our waitress who asked if we had tickets that evening so she could inform the kitchen. Several in our group had been to the restaurant before and remarked on their recent remodel which gave the space a more open feel. We split the Sourdough Baguette and several of us shared a bottle of red wine. For my entree I chose the Lumache alla Vodka, which appeared to be the largest portion amongst those at the table who ordered pasta dishes. The portion size was perfect - enough to keep me full but not overstuffed and sleepy! The flavor was excellent as well, with just a little heat on the back end for those that like a little spice. A great location and spot for a date night. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown cincy. Me and my fiancé liked the food,but decided it wouldn't be a spot we would want to return to. My fiancé had the lamb shank. I would say if you go to Via Vite, this is a popular dish and I must agree. The meat is nice and tender and comes right off the bone. The lamb sits on top of creamy polenta with a sweet sauce that makes a bite so delicious. I had the salmon, and it was good, but I have had better salmon. For my birthday I visited Prima Vista...in my opinion Via Vite is so much more authentic and colorful on the palate. I had they're stracciatelli and prosciutto for starters. The bread was warm and nutty and the fresh mozeralla was a nice touch. The gnochhi was so unctuous. Perfectly cooked (crispy with a nice chewy texture), and the parmesan cream sauce nicely balanced the bold truffle taste. Classy yet like a comforting meal from home. The Salted Caramel dessert was a pure delight. The ice cream didn't melt ( and I took my time eating). The wafer was a perfect flaky texture and the caramel under neath was just mmmmmm. The food was all drenched in olive oil, table service was slow, our food was sent to the wrong table, went back to the kitchen and then took forever to come back out. Phenomenal. We were pleasantly surprised at the level of service and the depth and complexity of the dishes. They seemed to have revamped their menu and renovated since our last visit from several years ago. We were celebrating a special event and the FOH and every staffer were aware and were super kind.
