I absolutely LOVED Paella night. The seafood paella in particular was truly stunning. Perfect flavors, texture and each time I wanted another serving, it was just an ask away. The Sangrias. This was also the first time I've had Rose Sangria. It is now my favorite. But they were all bottomless, cold and not overly sweet or doused in fruit. Exactly like I remembered during my vacation in Spain. It was so comforting to get a real Sangria and not a fruit cocktail with a drop of wine. Well done! The staff was so friendly and attentitve. What a fun night of three delicious paella's. We tried all three and had seconds and even thirds on some of them. Seafood, chicken and rabbit, and vegetarian. The most surprising to us was the vegetarian one. The sangria's were delicious. We tried them all. It was our first time having a rosé sangria. I could have eaten 3 of the small plate of criustini with Serrano ham , manchego cheese and honey but then I wouldn't have had room for the best risotto I've ever eaten. We started off with a Mediterranean platter as a shareable made of garlic roasted hummus, olives, pickles, veggies, warm pita. The hummus was delectable as it was handmade. Pickles and olives were not too vinegary. Warm pita was perfect. We also split a Roasted Beet Salad Roasted beets, artisan green mix, goat cheese, candied walnuts, house vinaigrette. The salad was delicious with yummy beets and a very mellow goat cheese. The candied walnuts completed the ensemble. Went to a Paella event at this restaurant. Very dissappointed . Plates the size of an espresso cup saucer with a couple of spoonfuls of mostly rice, placed on table. Advertised as all you could eat, but small portions served twice. Advertised sangria, but a glass of wine with 2 or 3 small pieces of apple is not my idea of sangria. I saw no attempt to keep food warm, but a cold mussel or shrimp is not very appetizing. All this for a cost of $60 per head. Been wanting to try Grassroots & Vine for a while and finally made it for an early dinner with friends. It was an uncomfortably warm and muggy evening, so we sat inside the cheery dining room. I couldn't help but notice the lovely patio with views of green rolling hills just outside that on some other afternoon or evening would be a lovely option for a meal. The menu has a pretty tempting selection of apps, flatbreads, panini sandwiches and salads, and since this is also a wine store, there are some good drink options available, too. My friends opted for wine flights, while my husband and I split a bottle that he picked from the store. I'm a sucker for a muffuletta sandwich, so when I saw that on the menu, I made my choice. I opted for the simple green salad with my side and it was awesome - the dressing was really tasty. While not as flavorful as I would have expected, the sandwich was solid. Our service was attentive and friendly throughout. I'd recommend Grassroots & Vine for lunch, happy hour and light dinners and look forward to visiting again. My server Maddy was wonderful and helped me choose the Dip Board for my appetizer, letting me know they could use their gluten free flatbread crust to make crackers for it, which made me so happy! We really enjoy coming here! The food is a bit pricy, but it is fresh and it is delicious! I get the flatbread and the Mediterranean plate and every time and am never disappointed. Staff can be hit or miss- first time I went they were super attentive. Second time it took awhile for them to come back. This place is soooo cute!! But my wine flight was not so great. I chose two reds and a white. The reds had been opened for too long and had lost their allure. For a wine bar, that's not a good quality. We were definitely the first customers of an early evening so the wine most likely came from the bottles that had been opened in the previous few days and definitely had too much exposure to air. The white was fine and still crisp. The only other issue was that my friend ordered the espresso martini and ahe qas not finihed with it whrn the waiter came up and pucked it up and asked if we wanted anything else. It's super hard for me to keep my mouth shut and let someone else speak up for themselves before i jump in but I've been working on that. It also has unique items for sale some are from local artists We came for dinner wanted to sit outside but that was packed and you need to reserve it on the weekends. We typically order salads because they are AWESOME, but we've also enjoyed the tinned fish and it was actually quite good. The charcuterie platter is also delicious. They recommended their favorites, and were spot on when they said their gluten free carrot cake was so moist and flavorful that you couldn't tell it lacked the gluten. The flatbread was delicious, and the puréed Roma tomatoes that topped the pizza were to die for. Loved the combo of Roma and pesto on the thin, crisp, flatbread. This would be a cute place to go to when the sun is shining so you could eat on the outdoor patio and then stroll the downtown shops. The majority of the tables seemed more suited for two people's dining, but they did have dining enough for four. It isn't a place for a large party, unless you called and arranged something ahead of time. I gave it 4 stars for lack of variety on the menu, but overall it was a nice place to go for a bite to eat. I have been popping in here for a few years now and would like to say that not once have I ever left unhappy. The farm to plate concept is done right here. They use quality meats, veggies, breads, and ingredients in all the dishes. We initially wanted to sit on the amazingly cute patio, but rain was about to come in so we opted for an inside table. The place is super adorable and trendy. Very urban farm house chic. When you walk in it has a deli feel and then they have a seating room off to the right. You can either order at the counter or order with the servers at the table. Everyone is so incredibly nice.
