I had such a great experience here that I don't even know where to start. I can start with Adealio(sp) who was such an awesome bartender and catered to whatever need I had. Extremely exemplatory of someone who takes their career serious. He was very helpful as I decided to take my sip through the unlimited mimosas offered by Via Sophia. I am so not a champagne girly so I definitely skipped the traditional and allowed Adelio to choose my first sip since I couldn't many up my mind lol. Then our journey began. He made them to my liking and each one was better and better. The Merlot was definitely my favorite. Can you see the head on that guy?! I would come back and sit at the bar just to be taken care of by him any day. The restaurant was beautifully decorated inside as well and a cute place to have brunch. They didn't offer much food that I enjoyed on their brunch menu, however my friend did get the chocolate gelato which I was told was extremely tasty. I have been to Via Sophia one time before by myself I said at the bar and it was okay but this time definitely has me wanting to come back and putting them on my list of places when I travel to DC again.

    CURRY CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH

I was visiting DC, and had lunch with a friend. We went for three course pre-set butternut squash soup, panini with salad & tiramisu at $32. The soup was tasty but a bit sweet. IT came luke warm. My carry chicken panini & salad was filling and yummy. The turamisu was too sweet. We enjoyed it. The restaurant is nice, but the service was not as formal as i would like. The cappuchino was way too expensive, $9, and coffee $7.

I'm a huge lover of cherry blossoms, so when my SO and I saw this beautiful cherry blossom themed space in our hotel, I knew we had to try it. Hanami is a small offshoot of Hamilton hotel's in-house restaurant, Via Sophia. It's a very small space right next to the main restaurant that was previously used as a speakeasy, but now overflows with beautiful (albeit, fake) cherry blossom decor for a few months during the spring. Dining is scheduled on a reservation-only basis, but reservations look relatively easy to grab. They offer a 3- or 5- course tasting menu celebrating spring flavors and a decent drinks menu, if you don't want to choose the optional beverage pairing. For our three-course menu, we had: - Hotel Tango Cherry Poached Pear: The first course was a cherry-poached pear with goat cheese and shiso- loved the sweet and savory pairings here, especially since I'm a fan of goat cheese. The texture of the poached pear started to wear on me towards the end but it was a very enjoyable bite. - Venison Ossubucco: The second course was my unexpected favorite! The venison was super tender and just melted in my mouth. Paired with farrotto (farro grain cooked risotto-style), the textures were divine and the flavors were so savory. I would have loved to have more and more of this. - Cherry Stracciatella Semifreddo: Dessert was also surprisingly good! Our waiter described it to us as a deconstructed ice cream bar, which didn't sound all that appealing to me at first as a generally non-lover of ice cream, but ended up being delicious and flavorful. Our waiter was friendly and personable, but the time that stretched between courses stretched longer than expected. It's understandable, given that this dining area is separate from the main restaurant, so the only people that are around are just you and your fellow diners. My SO and I ended up being the last diners in the space, so our waiter let us hang around for a few minutes after dinner to enjoy the space and take pictures since it's so beautifully decorated. While not the cheapest, we felt that price was reasonable for the value and experience. I had an immensely good time and would recommend stopping by if you're ever in the area during cherry blossom season. Hanami will close for the year at the end of June, so make sure to stop by before then if you can. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 4/5 - Service: 4.5/5

While staying at the Hamilton hotel in Washington DC we had dinner one evening at the hotels restaurant called Via Sophia. The restaurant is on the hotel property right on the corner so you have the option to dine in or dine outside on their terrace overlooking Franklin Park. The restaurant is very classy and provides a full service restaurant, bread service, and bar. The staff and hostess were very friendly. When we went down for dinner, we were seated right away. The restaurant is very clean and has a cozy set up and inviting. The menu options looked delicious. We settled on something simple and ordered bucatini carbonara. The dish was nice and hot and was a good portion. The pasta was cooked al dente which is great however, this one was a little too al dente. The carbonara sauce wasn't as creamy as I've had at other restaurants, and it had so much black pepper that it overpowered the taste of the pancetta or bacon that was used in the dish. Nonetheless, we were hungry and finished it right away! Would I eat there again...? It depends. There are so many great places to enjoy food in the DC area, however, there were other options on the menu that I would be willing to return for. Until next time! Enjoy!

I had to check out Via Sophia's Hanami at the Hamilton Cherry Blossom Three-Course Menu! It's absolutely beautiful. The decor and ambiance really just sets the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Service was very quick and we even got to meet Chef Silva, who told us all about the menu. $49pp +$25pp for beverage pairing: First Course HOTEL TANGO CHERRY POACHED PEAR Aged Balsamic, Citrus Oil, Goat Cheese, Shiso Cherry Royale Second Course VENISON OSSOBUCCO Polenta Mascarpone, Morello, Miso-Braised Fennel 2021 Coppa | Camp du Rouss Nebbiolo Barbera D'Asti / IT Third Course CHERRY STRACCIATELLA SEMIFREDDO Amaretto, Candied Orange Peel, Cocoa Nibs House-made Cherrycello Is definitely go back again!

Highly Recommend The eggs were flawless--creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Potatoes? Just as amazing. You can tell this kitchen avoids the usual overcooked trap most places fall into. Barry, greeter and host, was warm and welcoming, making everyone feel at home. Actually the staff who checked in on me and brought my food was equally engaging and friendly. Lighting and gentle music was a plus as well. It was quiet for a breakfast spot and I found it refreshing. The bartender was unfortunately curt and disengaged, but maybe just having a rough morning. Still, the food and hospitality overall make this a must-visit. I'll definitely be back.

    GRILLED SALMON CEASAR
    Shanel J.

I was staying at the Hamilton Hotel so it was very convenient. I went one night and tried to order a Caesar salad with chicken. Apparently they won't add chicken to the your salad but you can add salmon. I didn't have time to go anywhere else, so I just got salmon and it was good as well. The next day I stopped in late afternoon, early evening and was told they only serve pizza until before 5 pm. My friends and I definitely found that odd, but again didn't have time to go anywhere else some of us ordered pizza and drinks. The espresso martinis are delicious! I think I would only recommend this place and a pregame spot for drinks, not really for food, as they seem to be very picky in what they serve.

House White off the Happy Hour Menu!
    Fatu D.

First and foremost, kudos to the waiter Duc from the Philippines! His service to our party during the Happy Hour on Tuesday was superb. He overheard that my friend was transitioning from her current position and gave her a special treat. Such amazing service and attention to detail. The ambiance was nice featuring upscale decor and offering inside and outside patio seating. Though the Happy Hour menu was limiting, all the dishes hit the spot! The fries, calamari, and pizza were priced great and were delicious. The house red and white wines were awesome options as well. Just wishing the happy hours could be extended, but that goes for all places.

Good: without prompting, the hostess realized that a window seat was becoming available and asked if we'd like to move. Bad: waiter with no personality and soup spoons for stirring my coffee Noa: commendations

My husband and I are staying here at the Hamilton hotel for his 75th birthday. We are here from Arizona. I ordered the Verde Pollo pizza and it was phenomenal. I had them add mushrooms to it and that just took it over the top! Sit at the bar because the bartenders are awesome!

Mimosa brunch tree on the patio
    Todd B.

We came here for brunch and were absolutely blown away. I had the chicken sandwich with fries, and it was phenomenal--crispy, juicy fried chicken cooked to perfection and served on a sandwich that hit all the right notes. The fries? Golden, hot, and addictive. We also shared the mimosa tree (yes, a tree of mimosas), which I highly recommend. It came with an assortment of deliciously flavored mimosas--something for everyone's taste, and it made the table feel a little extra festive. The atmosphere was gorgeous--thoughtfully designed with elegant touches and a hint of cherry blossom vibes that made it feel seasonally special. It's located right inside the Hamilton Hotel, directly across the street from a beautiful park, which added to the whole experience. The four of us couldn't stop talking about the food, the drinks, and the whole vibe--even after we left. If you're visiting DC or live nearby, do yourself a favor and book a table here. Brunch goals, achieved.

    Margherita Pizza
    B. A.

Here's a polished version of your review that keeps your voice while making it more engaging and structured: --- I randomly stopped by Via Sophia this past Saturday while visiting the cherry blossoms. The inviting outdoor patio and the bottomless mimosas sign drew me in. While waiting to be seated, I noticed the interior was beautifully designed--clean, stylish, and featuring a large bar. However, our experience got off to a rocky start. Our waiter wasn't as welcoming as the hostess and didn't introduce herself. She also didn't mention that we were required to order food with our bottomless mimosas until after we had already had several sips. I understand that everyone has off days, and maybe this is standard practice, but as someone who had never done bottomless before, I would have appreciated a heads-up. Since we had already eaten lunch, we weren't planning to order food, but we ended up getting the Margherita pizza (which was delicious) after she explained that just the drinks alone would cost $55 per person. If that had been communicated upfront, I probably would have opted out--$77 just didn't feel worth it. Despite the rough start, the staff, especially Jonathan from management, checked in on us and helped turn things around, ensuring the rest of our visit went smoothly. If I ever find myself in DC craving a great Margherita pizza, I know exactly where to go!

One of my favorite things is catching the buy one get one free deals on UberEats because it makes it even easier to justify ordering it again. What really stands out about Capo Deli is how consistently fresh and flavorful everything tastes, even with delivery. The sandwiches and wraps always arrive well prepared, not soggy, and still tasting like they were made with care right before being packed up. My two absolute favorites are the tuna wrap and the chicken salad wrap. The tuna wrap is perfectly balanced, creamy but not overwhelming, and packed with flavor in every bite. The chicken salad wrap is just as good, with a smooth texture, great seasoning, and a freshness that makes it feel lighter than you would expect. Both wraps are the kind of meals that feel simple but done at a really high level, which is harder to find than people think. Another thing that makes Capo Deli stand out is the portion size. You really get your money's worth, especially with the BOGO deals. One order easily turns into two meals, which makes it perfect for lunch and dinner or even the next day. A lot of people also love the fact that the menu has a wide variety of deli sandwiches, wraps, and comfort-style options, so there is always something new to try without straying from what they do best. Even in other reviews, people consistently talk about how reliable Capo Deli is. It is one of those places where you know exactly what you are going to get every time: fresh ingredients, solid portions, and food that hits the spot. It is not overly complicated, just really well executed deli food done right. Overall, Capo Deli has become one of my go-to spots, especially for delivery. Between the flavor, consistency, portion size, and those UberEats BOGO deals, it is hard not to keep coming back. The tuna wrap and chicken salad wrap alone are worth the order every time.

They operate a deli counter in the front and a bar / speakeasy in the back. You can rent out the bar space for private events. Last night, we had the space (and a bartender!) to ourselves, along with 3-4 different types of sandwiches. There is something SPECIAL about their seeded Italian bread. The perfect flakiness and texture. I enjoyed the chicken fontina and Italian. The caprese was my least favorite--not sure if they use a balsamic or what, but the flavor wasn't coming through. Before I left, I decided to order a large chicken cheesesteak to take home for lunch the next day. It was a bit of a risk to order a hot sandwich that I would have in the fridge overnight but I heated it up in our air fryer/toaster oven for all of 10 mins and the bread was good (not soggy) and the sandwich itself was delicious. I enjoyed it so much, I didn't stop to take a photo until the last bite :) It's a decent size sandwich--I ate half for lunch (along with my own chips and veggies) and have another half for tomorrow so while it's not cheap, I think it's reasonable.
