The pork belly was braised nicely and tender, with the marshmallow adding the sweetness. The homemade crackers were very nice, and the jalapeno added a nice kick. The main dish was the bourbon chicken. It was nicely tender and had a hint of sweetness from the bourbon. The rice went well with the chicken, and the broccolini was perfectly grilled. For dessert, the bread pudding with ice cream was a perfect end. Moist and delicious. It was getting full, so I was able to save some and enjoy at home too. The service was attentive with my bartender checking up with me occasionally. They were quite busy, but still friendly. The dining area looked dark and a bit more formal than last time I visited. But still social and relaxing. I didn't get to see the outdoor patio, but it looked nice from the inside. I parked at the UCF/Valencia garage, which was 3 dollars per hour. Sadly, they don't validate parking. I am so happy I ate at the Monroe for my last magical dining. It's been a while since I eaten there, but the food and drinks are still great. I'm not saying I've thought about it an unreasonable amount since dinner, but I'm also not not saying that. Our server Colin was attentive, knowledgeable, and somehow made the whole evening feel even more special without ever hovering, which is truly an art form in itself. Magical Dining is such a lovely excuse to try some of Orlando's best restaurants while supporting local charities, but Delaney's is one of those places I'd come back to even without the excuse. We were sat 45 minutes past our reserved dinner time. The short ribs from the main courses ran out. That was our top choice and we were saddened to learn of the sellout for the night. The bread service we ordered was terribly stale. The fried green tomato lacked taste and flavor. The shrimp and grits dish was delicious! I honestly don't think the cornbread was necessary for this dish. The tradition shrimp, sausage, grits, and gravy were perfectly paired and did not require the cornbread. The cornbread itself was part of the bread service, which lacked taste and appeared stale. The desserts were the star of the show. I was informed they make everything in house to include the desserts. Amazing job! Also, because of the delay, we were gifted an additional dessert. Thank you so much! I'd be happy to return one day to give it another shot. We had such high expectations based on the reviews we've heard from others. I was unable to make a reservation for this night, but walked in and was seated at the bar immediately. There are two hostess stands at this location. The first stand is at the door next to the Valet Parking stand and is for confirmed reservation seating. You are directed to walk further down the hallway towards the bar area for another separate hostess stand for walk-ins. We were seated at a nice two-top table close to the brewery room. (Note: we noticed a separate table inside the brewery which appeared to accommodate a small group and most likely requires a reservation to be seated there.) Kelly was our server and she was efficient, fun and very knowledgeable of the menu. She answered all of our questions, including explaining the ingredients of some of our selections. Our drink selections consisted of the frozen Getaway Car (vodka, sour cherry and maraschino liqueur) and the Woe Is Me martini (herb-infused Grey Goose with a pickled cherry tomato). The tomato made this martini stand out! The presentation of both drinks was memorable as was the taste of each. For our appetizers, we shared the Gatherer Salad (a zesty combination of baby greens, avocado, pickled beets, radish, goat, cheese and walnut granola with a herb vinaigrette dressing-outstanding!) and the Mushroom and Gruyère Beignets, set off by the pecorino cheese and the truffle aioli sauce. We easily could've had a second round of the beignets, but decided to go ahead and order our second course. For the second course, we shared the Pan Seared Redfish with summer vegetables, and the Steak Frites. The fish was delicate, light and the fennel broth made this dish a winner. The Steak Frites consisted of rubbed prime flat iron steak, garlic aïoli and bordelaise sauce-SO GOOD! The truffle fries were plentiful and, when combined with the sauce, resulted in a perfect accompaniment to this meal. For the final course, we shared the Black Forest Cake and the Peaches & Cream (caramelized puff pastry with peach jam, and mascarpone custard). Both desserts were the explanation points of the evening. At the end of the night, we told Kelly that we loved the combination of the "naughty and nice" pairings for this magical dining experience. (For example, the beignets and the salad, plus the redfish and the steak, allow you to both eat healthy and eat decadent.) A final shout out to the General Manager, Scott, who gave me an excellent tour of the outside beer garden (not occupied due to the rain that evening) and the major beer brewery facility next to it. TV screens are available in the garden, and would be an excellent party place for watching football this Fall. I think I have my next visit to The Ravenous Pig planned in the coming weeks. For the entrees; The Red fish was so delicious, but I also tried a piece of the steak frites and that was fantastic as well. The Steak was super tender. That house made pasta linguine with shrimp was incredible as well. The black forest cake dessert was really good. I like that it wasn't too sweet. I love that they continuously update their menu in accordance to what is seasonal. The only critique I have is that when we first arrived, they had trouble finding our reservation. I had to pull up the email confirmation (Which I did confirm) A confirmation that they had actually sent me the previous day. The hostess lady seemed annoyed and asked us to sit and wait while they got a table ready. We waited around 15 minutes. No big deal, but a little nerve wracking when she said: "I don't see your name here." It's a good thing I kept that email confirmation. To start, our appetizer of soft pretzels and beer cheese arrived and was quickly shared (devoured - I was fortunate to get a picture). I ordered the Build Your Own Burger, medium, complete with a write-on menu to check off my choices. Sweet potato fries asked me to try them out along with the Bison burger, which I had never eaten. My Bison burger with minimal extras and the Bourbon glaze looked appetizing, and the flavor of the burger held its own. Plenty of sweet potato fries joined the burger on the plate, and I enjoyed their slightly firm exterior with the soft, sweet interior. Even the leftovers tasted good two days later. I ordered and enjoyed The Soldiers Lemonade, but wished I had started drinking it sooner than later due to the crushed ice. The warm night quickly melted it.
