Am I the only person that wasn't in love with this place? Judging by the reviews thinking I must have went to the wrong place. The flavors didn't seem to go well with each other, I really loved the avocado toast, and the beets had very little to no feta cheese(were decent). The rest just meh and with the high prices didn't seem worth it to me. And it is so loud inside with others talking. Must be how the ceiling was done or something. I don't know what's better than a healthy, fast meal with such lovely presentation and nice employees. Since it's a fast-casual/walk-up counter, you just walk down the line like at Cafe Rio or Chipotle or similar places, and your food meets you at the register. The employees were helpful in making recommendations when I told them my options. Two in a row confirmed that the poke bowl was the way to go. True to their word, my ahi tuna poke bowl was fresh and yummy; I think it was my first real experience with couscous. Prices run high on seafood, just a heads up. And know ahead of time that Israeli poke is not the same as island poke. It was described on the menu pretty differently from island poke, but I don't think I was prepared for how different it would be. And I don't mean that in a bad way. It was delicious. Fresh and high quality. My friends' food looked good too. Next time, I think I'll create my own plate and take advantage of the roasted veggies and try the ratatouille. They've got a great combo option that includes the main course (shredded chicken, beef, etc.) and two sides. I was having a hard time choosing two sides because of their large selection and they were willing to let me sample multiple sides to ensure that I was pleased with my selection and I definitely was! Wow, wow, wow! We were planning to eat at MOD Pizza, and when we got to the restaurant we saw Vessel Kitchen right next door. We poked our head in to see what was on the menu, and were immediately attracted not only by the decor but also by the many vegan choices. The prices were good and the portions were sizable. But the food -- goodness me -- the food was fresh, flavorful, and of obviously great quality. As a vegan, I eat a lot of hummus, and I can say with all sincerity that the hummus is the best I have ever eaten, bar none. You say, "How can one hummus be better than another?" Just go try it at Vessel. The restaurant is clean, there's plenty of seating, and you get real tableware and cloth napkins. This was a nightmare and is related to a Door Dash deliver (FYI, they're own delivery button on their site leads to Door Dash so that's your only option). The "custom protein plate" was available on Door Dash. I had a large order under and several of my folks requested it however when I went to check out, it said the Custom Protein Plate option was no longer available. Some of my people ordered the items separately at a HIGHER total price and received these TINY containers of food. Putting it all together gave my employees HALF the quantity of food and TWICE the price. This was for a group lunch and it was disappointing and left some of our people hungry. I have never eaten falafel that I enjoyed until I tried it at Vessel Kitchen. The falafel was tasty, flavored really well and not dry at all. We ordered 4 different plates and everyone enjoyed what they received. I also ordered the broccoli which had crispy kale included and was SOOOO good! I highly recommend. My 1.5 year old devoured the sweet potato hash leaving only a crumb for me to try. So good! :) We will eat here again - especially for the well thought out menu which easily identifies vegan and allergy items. Loved my market plate with roasted chicken, sweet potato hash and sesame soy cauliflower. That cauliflower was a dream - next time I'd order three sides of just that! The suggestion was made that we should check this place out and since it was date night, headed over. First impression walking in I thought this place has a nice open and hip vibe. We checked the menus and jumped in line. All of the choices seemed pretty good. I ordered the braised beef, cauliflower and spaghetti squash which all sounded delicious. Also got a side of hummus and pita. From the counter it was into the crowded dining area. The place was pretty full so we had to wait a bit for a table to open. One thing I noticed is that most of the tables could use a "wipe down", but I'm sure that this is a defect of people pushing their way to an open table. When the food arrived we started with the pita and hummus. The pita was fried which I felt it didn't need to be. The hummus was very good. As for the main dish, the beef was outstanding. Came for lunch and it was pretty busy! Concept is ordering in line, grab a number and they bring your food to the table. I ordered the Brussels sprouts, the roasted chicken I believe and the beets. The mashed potatoes were also good but lacked flavor, even after I added butter and salt and pepper. They were also not served hot. So. Delicious. I could eat here everyday!! It's the quickest, most delicious and still tasty meal I've had in a while. The ordering process is quick and easy and they bring your food out to you in no time. I had the Med 4.0 bowl and it was amazing. The falafel was tasty with a great sauce (curry I think) on top. Vessel Kitchen has a two locations, and the one in Midvale is large & spacious (great for reducing claustrophobicism but not great for acoustics). Walking past the cafe line lets you see and choose and sample any of the cold/hot sides. Took a lot of internal debating, but finally settled on butternut squash (very yum), brussel sprouts (ok), mac & cheese (very yum) and chickpea soup (very yum). Colorful meal with all of the nutrients for 4x$3 or $12. So much yes. Drinks and pastries also offered at the end. I joked with cashier about how one of the strawberry macaroons looked ugly and squashed. Peep was friendly and she let me take the damaged one for free. Sweet! I moved from SLC just as Vessel began opening locations beyond their first Park City. Luckily I'm back 1-2 times per year visiting family and friends. This last trip I managed to get my Vessel craving in! I grabbed lunch at three different locations. I can't stray from the "Custom Plate." Their selection of proteins and vegetables (hot and cold) never disappoint and they're seasonal! This time I tried and loved the pulled pork, spicy cauliflower and roasted Brussels sprouts. They also have a large selection of different toppings and sauces which are fun to add on. I am continually impressed with the flavors Vessel brings with their menu that has something to offer everyone. I'm already missing my go-to lunch. Take advantage of this gem if you are in Utah! We order Vessel Kitchen through DoorDash regularly, but have dined in as well. Regarding deliveries, I'm always impressed with the consistency of the food taste, temperature, and quality. Also, I really appreciate the packaging. It's always stapled closed in a large, thick, brown paper bag which makes us feel it's less likely our food would be exposed to tampering or stealing. Clean food, wholesome food, cage-free meat, locally sourced ingredients ... all trendy buzzwords. To me, it all comes down to taste, and even with all the trendy buzzwords at the heart of Vessel Kitchen's menu, the food is delicious. One thing to know about Vessel Kitchen is they have seasonal menu, so it'll be interesting to see what stays and what goes as time passes ... or if certain things reappear summer after summer and so on ... but where they stand now, I'm loving their food. There are two main ways to select an entree: get a signature bowl, or build a seasonal "Market Plate." I went for one of their entrees, the Pork + Papas (Spanish for "Potatoes"). The dish is slow-roasted pulled pork and roasted herb potatoes. It's topped with Fresno crema, sort of like heavy cream and buttermilk with Fresno chilies. It also has a Fresno chile sauce that goes great with the side of charred green beens. It's rounded out with pickles and micro-kale (really a sprout rather than the rough lettuce like stuff you're used to). It all goes together perfectly ... the pork is rich, a little sweet, and a little spicy. I love the creaminess meshed with the pulled pork. I'll be having this again. My wife put together a Summer Market Plate. From their selection of proteins (along with other choices: falafel, shedded adobo chicken, braised beef, yellowfin tuna, pulled pork, miso steelhead, and three proteins) she got the roasted chicken. This cage-free, hormone-free chicken is seasoned with a subtle but savory cajun dry brine (and you can choose white or dark meat) ... to call it light-years better than grocery store roasted chickens would be the understatement of the century. Awesome! Her two side-choices were cashew caesar broccoli and spaghetti squash. The broccoli is the perfect mix of purple kale flower, their in-house cashew caesar dressing, and granola. The spaghetti squash had almond salbitxada (a Catalan salsa-like sauce) and fire-roasted tomatoes. While the consistency isn't exactly like pasta, it's pretty darn close ... and the taste is superb. There are booths and tables available in a very open space to dine. The music was a little too loud for my liking, but maybe I'm just getting old. I prefer to be able to talk quietly at my table and not have to strain to hear the other person. The beets were sweet, tender and prepared just right. The pork and brussels sprouts needed a little more flavor for my liking, but they were fine. I ate them all...dipping the pork in the beet juice for added flavor, so obviously they were good enough. So I decided to go there because of the yelp reviews and pictures this was May 11, 2019. So I ordered my food and it was great. A little over priced, but I like supporting my local business. They had at the time... I went back two weeks later, and they changed the menu completely. They pushed out some of the things from the menu then added new stuff. I don't know, to me I did like that. As a consumer you go back because of the fact that you like something. I haven't been back since. When I asked why they changed the menu? The workers working the line agreed that it was bad they did that. One of the supervisors wasn't very sympathetic. He said we have other great things now to try. When I see lots of delivery drivers it makes me think there must be something wrong with the dining experience of this place. Going through the order line, I felt like it was a bit disorganized. When you walk in, there's a whole set up and view of the food (kind of like panda express and chipotle, where you see them scoop the food up as you order). I ordered but they didn't scoop anything up in front of me. I followed the people down the line to the register where I stood there for a while waiting for someone to take my money. After a long wait, an employee asked "Can I help you?"... I finally paid. I found a spot to sit down and they brought me my food a WHILE time later. People!! We need more food options like this in Utah! I can't understand why some of these reviews have less than 4 stars! I'm assuming their food pallet is not quiet up to par. This food is delicious, yes it's a few more dollars than Chick-Filet, but it's flavorful, healthy, real food! I've been to this location 3 times now (Park City serval Times), and thought I should give this location my review as well. I've basically tried almost every side they have, the best are the Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, beets, and ratatouille. However, one time I had the sweet potatoes, they were cold and hard, but the other times they were warm and soft and yummy! Also, the mushrooms and parsnips are cold, these should be warmed, as I think they would be more appetizing. We've tried all the meats. I absolutely love the steelhead trout, it's amazing! Perfectly seasoned and cooked! Worth every penny. My husband loves the braised beef and gets it every time. The meatballs are moist and good, and the roasted chicken is excellent! The ahi poke salad is one of my favorites too! The only downfall of this location, is that they don't serve Red Bicycle bread, or the zucchini bread that they have at the PC location. ;) This is a must try eating establishment if you're in the Fort Union area! read more
