Cubano Especial
Heino P.

This is Cuban! We just got into Miami on a late flight from Mexico and very few places are open at 10:30. Versailles was and we headed there. This is a very popular restaurant and sure enough, doing a brisk business at that time of night. The staff is top notch. Attentive, but not hovering and personable. I was disappointed that they were out of the Wednesday special 'Pigs Feet Andalusian Style'. I am a pigs feet fan and I was looking forward to this dish. Oh well. I did start with a bowl of the Galacian White Bean Soup ($5.50). It was a good soup and adding a little salt brought out the flavors a little more. Several cubes of ham, one very small bit of smoked ham shank, lots of beans and some potatoes. The menu said it also contained collard greens and turnips and if they were in the soup I never saw them. Not sure I would get it again. For my entree, I ordered the Special Cuban Sandwich ($15.50). This is a larger version of the regular Cuban Sandwich. This is a pressed sandwich and the Cuban bread gets very crispy outside yet stays soft inside. Plenty of sliced ham, roast pork and swiss cheese. It was supposed to have mustard and pickles also, but I didn't taste them. I should have asked for some, but I did not. I added some the next day on my leftovers and that did the trick. It's a great sandwich. My wife had The Classic Cuban Sampler ($15.50). What a meal. A very large portion of white rice surrounded by lots of goodies. The black beans were actually a pretty typical black bean soup on the side - tasty. The Picadillo ground beef and the pulled roast pork were excellent. A great ham flavor in the Ham Coquette. The Cassava (Yuca) did not have a Mojo sauce, but the pickled onion next to it were good. The Yuca is basically flavorless. The Cuban Tamale is much smaller than its Mexican twin, but had a very good flavor. The plantains had a caramelized coating and while not super flavorful it does have hints of sweetness as you eat it. The leftovers we brought home made for great lunches the next day. We're looking forward to trying other dishes there.

We have been to Miami twice and both visits included multiple trips to Versailles. Sure there are other great Cuban restaurants in Miami and in the Little Havana area, although this is on Calle Ocho but a little west of the Little Havana area. On this last trip, we ordered the Special Cuban sandwich is their larger version of the famous Cuban or Cubano sandwich. We also ordered the Versailles Combo Appetizer which includes a beef empanada, a chicken empanada and a ham and cheese empanada. You also get the yucca fries with the cilantro sauce. And finally you get some croquettes. Not a huge fan of the croquettes here but they are OK. As previously mentioned, we have been here several time and on this trip, the hostess said if you want to be in the room of mirrors. What? I said OK and they took us to the back, where it is a, well... room of mirrors. The way she said it made me think, should I be concerned. But it was a big open area. The whole place is very nice. We love the large parking area because this place is packed most of the time. We actually came back and ordered another Cubano for the flight home. You should have seen the people looking at us while we ate our Cubano and they enjoyed their pretzel braids. :)

Came here for a girls dinner during our trip to Miami. We arrived around 9 and there was still plenty of people there. The building is unique and beautiful. The waiter was really friendly and helped arrange our orders so the we all would get a different side to sample. I really enjoyed the ropa vieja and the ox tails. The portion size was amazing.

Amazing! Great service, great food, low prices, huge menu and wonderful atmosphere. Their menu includes a huge range of foods with lots of specials. I had the seafood casserole with vegetables and it was excellent. They also have an attached bakery with huge assortment. They have several large dining areas and can handle crowds. Overall one of the best meals of our whole trip!

We came here during our trip and saw that it was highly rated on Yelp, so our big group of 13 did a walk in and was able to get a table. The interior had an old family restaurant feel to it, which made it comfortable. The restaurant was bustling, so it goes to show that it is popular. Our server was able to handle our big group order and requests with ease, which made the experience great. We got the paella and beef dish with rice and beans/plantains. Everything was hearty and authentically seasoned. We enjoyed our meals. We even went next door to get desserts afterwards.

First time dining at Versailles and the experience was great. The parking situation was a big hectic, and it was crowded. We waited about half an hour before our party of seven were seated. The interior was spacious and crowded with diners. We ordered variety of food off the menu, and everything on the affordable end. Food tasted good overall and generously portioned for their prices. Some of our friends described this place as staple of Cuban food in coral gables area. Versailles did not disappoint. Yes I would recommend this place to others for a different experience. Our server was quick, attentive, and efficient. Sorry, we did not catch his name. We will be back if and when we crave Cuban food and we are in the coral gables area.

I was visiting Miami and asked a local for a restaurant recommendation. She directed me to Versailles. I had about a twenty minute wait without a reservation. I sat inside but waited outside until the table was ready. I had shrimp, rice, and fries for lunch. The portion size was generous so I took most of it back to eat later. The waiter was also very friendly and the price was not bad at all!

This Cuban Food Staple in Little Havana came recommended by multiple people for our weekend in Miami. It exceeded expectations!! From the brilliant mojito that was made on the patio while we waited to the exceptional desserts and everything in between was truly top notch. Personal favorites were the appetizer empanada and the Boliche! Will definitely make this a repeat on any trips to Miami

Versailles is a Miami staple for a reason. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this iconic spot belongs on your must-try list. The menu is extensive, offering so many authentic Cuban favorites that it can be hard to decide what to order. I've been here multiple times, and honestly, I haven't had a single dish that I didn't enjoy. Everything I've tried has been flavorful, satisfying, and worth coming back for. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, so even though it's popular, it does a great job accommodating guests. The lively atmosphere adds to the overall experience and gives you a true taste of Miami's Cuban culture. Don't leave without stopping by the bakery next door! It's the perfect way to end your meal, with an incredible selection of pastries, desserts, coffee, and other sweet treats. Even if you're already full, it's worth grabbing something to enjoy later. Great food, generous portions, a rich history, and an authentic atmosphere--Versailles continues to be one of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in Miami.

This place is clearly very popular, and there is a very large parking lot across the street so don't be put off by the tiny parking lot right out front. The people showing you to tables and the host stand all wear earpieces, and it felt extremely well organized. Other restaurant patrons were dressed casually but nicely, and it was a relaxed ambiance. I was deciding between the salmon glazed with guava BBQ and the grilled salmon with lemon butter and our server recommended the latter--I do kind of wish I had gone against his recommendation because I felt like the salmon could have been more flavorful but it was still well cooked, as were the yellow rice and sweet plantains. My boyfriend also enjoyed his sandwich. I had the cortadito with evaporated milk and it was really yummy! I don't normally drink coffee but it was recommended in other reviews. It's definitely more on the sugary sweet side of things, but if you're looking for that I would highly recommend. It was probably my favorite thing here.

My friend welcomed me to her hood and this was the first place of how she welcomed me in Miami. I can see why. AMBIANCE Parking: Dedicated lot and surrounding parking options, though it can get busy during peak hours. Seating: Plenty! Large dining rooms capable of accommodating individuals, families, tour groups, and everyone in between. Vibes: Welcome to Little Havana. It's a bit spaced out for you to experience Cuban culture. The restaurant itself gives you that classic, old-school charm with some history of the Cuban community. I dig the Cuban music giving it a nice cultural touch. This spot is no hidden gem. This is a common place for everyone - locals to tourists. FOOD / DRINKS Cubano (Recommend) Ofcourse you have to get a Cubano. Nothing too flashy but definitely gets the job done. Classic pressed bread with a satisfying crunch with a medley of roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard to give it a nice savory and comforting taste. Every bite had a good balance of texture and flavor. CUSTOMER SERVICE Awesome! Efficient and experienced. They know this place serves a lot of people so they know they had to come correct. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. Great selections, fair prices, and a solid cultural experience. Versailles does a great job perserving and celebrating Cuban culture. For those interested for that Cuban-Miami experience, this is the place to be. TIPS * Come hungry--the portions are generous

We had a connecting flight in Miami, and I was craving a good cup of coffee. I stopped by Versailles and ordered a small cappuccino and a guava and cheese pastry. Both were absolutely delicious. The pastry filling was light and not overly sweet, which I really loved. The staff were super friendly and recommended the guava and cheese pastry, and I'm so glad I took their suggestion. Since the coffee was so good, I went back to buy some coffee beans, but they only had ground coffee available, so I picked up a bag. I can't wait to make it at home. There was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. If you're at Miami International Airport, you have to stop by Versailles Coffee, it's definitely worth it.

CHICKEN VERSAILLES
Maria P.

I was excited to come here because I have heard so much of this place and I came with a large group of people. This place was huge with many seats and was busy for a Wednesday afternoon. This is a perfect place to come with large groups and there is plenty of free parking. We were seated quickly and waters came right away to our table with menus and our server was ready to take our order as soon as we were ready. Great friendly service. I ordered the CHICKEN VERSAILLES. It was supposed to be a half of a chicken marinated in mojo. It came out, pounded and tasted dry; not moist at all with a small cup on the side of mojo sauce. I was very disappointed. Maybe if I had tried something else on their menu I may have been happier. It came with black beans and rice which tasted ok. We sat for a while after paying the bill to have conversations, but we were told we had to leave because they had to get other people in. So if you want to relax and have a conversations wait before you pay the bill or you will be rushed out. Unfortunately unless I was asked to come again with a group or with a friend I would never come here on my own.

Sure there's some (2 or 3?) outdoor tables but it's usually either raining or too humid to be outside. On the slim chance you can sit inside, there are two tables and a long bar where they make the food (read: lots of smoke, noise and uncomfortable seating). In my last visit, sitting at the bar, I was informed there is a no-laptop policy. Cool, I get it--you don't want people camping in. So I take out my phone to check emails and I receive dirty looks from the staff. Whatever, but the worst thing was that the croquetas I ordered were absolutely atrocious. They tasted weirdly fishy, like bad recycled oil. The pastelitos looked a bit sad and over baked so I passed on them. It was stranger because on my first ever visit the croquetas were fine but this time-- I gagged. The coffee is fine but the rest is overhyped.
