Tinta y Cafe is home to one of my most favorite iced cafe con leche's in the city. Now that it's a short 5 minutes from my apartment, I find myself to pop in on a lazy Sunday to get the perfect cafe and my beloved tostada with cheese. I typically frequent the pick up window but snagging a seat inside is so nice, too. It's one of those spots that encourages you to be off your device and connect, and that makes me feel like I'm at a family table connecting with my loved ones. They make stellar sandwiches and always have delicious specials. Service is friendly and do not miss the croquetas! read more

I have come here a few times, usually dropping in at the window for a to-go latte. Parking is nearly impossible as the lot is tiny and available street parking is extremely limited. Inside it's just as small as you can imagine. So after driving around looking for parking, there is still a 97% chance you may not have a seat available. Sure there's some (2 or 3?) outdoor tables but it's usually either raining or too humid to be outside. On the slim chance you can sit inside, there are two tables and a long bar where they make the food (read: lots of smoke, noise and uncomfortable seating). In my last visit, sitting at the bar, I was informed there is a no-laptop policy. Cool, I get it--you don't want people camping in. So I take out my phone to check emails and I receive dirty looks from the staff. Whatever, but the worst thing was that the croquetas I ordered were absolutely atrocious. They tasted weirdly fishy, like bad recycled oil. The pastelitos looked a bit sad and over baked so I passed on them. It was stranger because on my first ever visit the croquetas were fine but this time-- I gagged. The coffee is fine but the rest is overhyped. read more

I had a rude and unprofessional experience with the barista working today (8/28/26) - purple hair, lots of eye makeup, did not get her name. After ordering my drinks and receiving them, she felt the need to hold up the line and single me out in front of everyone to inform me that she "wouldn't order" the way I ordered. Not telling me that I couldn't, but that *she* wouldn't. It came across incredibly self-important and petty. For context, I ordered two double espressos and paid an additional $1 for each cup of oat milk on the side. This is on the menu. I didn't ask for anything outrageous, yet she seemed perturbed that I ordered what I paid for. I have a newborn and have replaced oat milk whenever I use 'milk' because my supply has been very low and oats are said to aid in lactation support. I'm pumping breastmilk in the car every time I drive and nursing throughout the day. I'm doing everything in my power to consume as many lactation supporting foods as I can. I PAID FOR IT. I paid nearly $13 for two beverages, I didn't ask for anything free or try to do anything inappropriate. Yet I was treated with such odd hostility from the barista. She even made some comment about it being "a lot of cups", except it was just the two cups of milk where I poured the espresso into. She very simply could have poured the espresso into the cup of milk and ice, but apparently that was not something she was willing to do. So it seems the two little paper espresso cups going to 'waste' are because of her method of preparation and service. I didn't ask for special treatment or any exceptions to be made for me, I ordered off the menu. I paid for the milk and I paid for the espresso. The semantics of what I do with what I pay for is not of the barista's concern. I would encourage some supplemental training or remove oat milk from the menu if customers are going to be spoken to disrespectfully for buying it. read more

Plus, today I saw the burger served to the person sitting next to me, and I already know exactly what I'm getting on my next visit. The price is pretty steep for a sandwich not to mention $2 for the garlic Aioli that doesn't even compliment the sandwich at all ... the media Noche bread was dry... Truly one of its kind, Tinta y Cafe has some of the most delicious cuban-style sandwiches in town. Not just that, but for the price-point, variety, and quality; it doesn't compare to many in town. My go to and my suggestion if you are a first timer is their madurito. It is one of their classics and most beloved, and a personal favorite too. When I go by myself and order the mini, I tend to have left overs and I have found that when I go with my partner, the regular is more than enough for both! Each sandwich somes with some platanitos, which are a perfect combo, and I would suggest you order un jugo de parchita (or maracuya) or try their beloved coffee. As a matcha lover, I recently heard they started offering matcha as well which I am SO excited to try. P.S., keep in mind that they don't allow laptops and I feel like they might even have a wifi blocker since signal gets so bad inside, but I really appreciate how it motivates you to remain very present and connect with the staff and other customers around you. read more

Hard to say what is the best thing about this place. Is it the food ? Yes for sure this time I had the Gallego - cantimpalo, prosciutto, tomato, manchego, garlic confit. It was amazing with the garlic confit putting it over the top. And you get a small or large so not some overpriced over large sandwich. They also have a daily special that looked really good. Maybe it's the ambiance? For sure it's just a cool building with high ceilings and decorated their words like your tias house. It's just cool old typewriters, mud century lamps and furniture. The Cafe con leche could use some work as its just machine made and good but not at the level of the food. The El pecado, was very sweet maybe too sweet after a bit. All that a side the food here is next level! The patria sandwich is hands down the best cuban sandwich I ever had, and I've had many. Put me in the "sees Chef once, must try a Cubano" camp. We had two days to spend in Miami and we wanted to make sure we would get at least one breakfast here. Appears like a large building from the outside but is actually a small quaint space that is clean and well kept. Service was awesome and we felt welcome even though it was quite clear we were tourists traveling in. I imagine this place runs in to out of towners a lot but they treated us kindly and, if we lived here, we would definitely put this spot on rotation. Our sandwiches were amazing. My partner got the one with plantains in it and that one definitely stole the show. I liked my tinta y cafe sandwich, but her's was a star. Tinta y Cafe serves up great coffee and amazing food in this charming little corner coffee house in the Gables. I've been here multiple times and not a single time has it ever let me down! I have never tried one prior to coming here and my girlfriend convinced me to try one and I can never look back! I really enjoyed my experience at the café. I ordered from the ventanita the soup of the day and it was being soup with vegetables. The soup was creamy and had Really excellent flavor and seasoning. I also got pastelitos. I ordered the cheese, pastelito, feta and spinach, pastelito, and a meat pastelito. All the food was very fresh and I even had a pastelito on my drive back home. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the coffee was incredible. Little Havana has so many great places and I'm so glad I came here . We dined in on a weekday. We were seated at the bar as there weren't any tables available (there are only 3 inside). To say this was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had would be an understatement. The bread was pillowy soft, the eggs were cooked to perfection , the cheese was beautifully melty. When you go to Miami you have to try Cuban food especially when it's on the Michelin guide! This place is a cute cafe. A hole in the wall type of feel with a very tight parking lot. You can tell a lot of locals come here but it is more popular than your typical hole in the wall. The food is good! Cuban breakfast sandwiches and pastries and of course strong and good Cuban coffee. The sandwiches have amazing bread and fresh filling. Croquetas are fresh from the kitchen and some of the best I have had in North Miami in a while. Finding parking is a pain in the @$$ cause all the street parking is for residents and the lot for their establishment only fits a few cars. My favorite is the La Caleña -- turkey, prosciutto, manchego cheese, tomato, red onion, fresh cilantro, and house-made cilantro mayo. Tons of flavor and a good size. I could only finish half, which worked out perfectly to share. I love their fresh juices. The maracuyá (passion fruit) juice is my go-to and never disappoints. Cozy vibes. Simple décor with vintage Miami newspaper prints and old cameras. My only gripe is that they didn't have almond milk available, which felt a little surprising for a coffee shop these days. Started with a Ham and Bacalao croquetas, they are a must! As mains, we had the Caleña: turkey, prosciutto, manchego cheese, tomato and red onion. El Callejero: chicken, prosciutto, cantimpalo, manchego, caramelized onions. LOVE!! This restaurant really lives up to the hype. You can tell why they have so many Michelin recognitions. First of all, it looks very unassuming from the outside, almost like a house or residence. As you walk in, it's a very retro and casual feel, buzzing with people, and it has a really great ambience. There are small tables and communal tables and they encourage you to be present rather than being stuck on your computer doing work. It felt like a very local place and everyone was having conversations and enjoying the food, both at the counter and at the tables. They have lots of books on the bookshelves for both children and adults to enjoy as well as some cool pieces like typewriters and retro lamps. The service was great, the food came out fast, and we absolutely loved it. First of all the cafe con leche was absolutely delicious, we got it with less sugar, and it was to die for. Note- they do have a coffee window that you can walk up to if you don't want to sit for food. We also got the sandwiches-- I got the vegetarian sandwich, which was absolutely delicious, and I love how they sliced the sandwich which was made on a tiny baguette and pressed. It tasted fresh, with lots of veggies, goat, cheese, and delicious garlic, aïoli. And it comes with some fresh plantain chips, which are also delicious. We also got a small cookie to eat with the coffee, which was nice. Overall, the meal was a delicious and it was a super cozy and enjoyable experience. Only 2 stars because the food is good however so everyone is aware, there is a no device policy for laptops so forget about a cozy cafe to work from. Definitely doesnt have that ambiance at all. To my surprise, no sign is posted anywhere about this other than a little card encouraging conversation but does not state anything about no device use. Totally antiquated policy. So you can use a cellphone but not a laptop? How does that work? A total negative in 2026. Waiters need more training. Cubano vibes con a relax atmosphere. This place hit the spot for my craving. Inside seating is community seating which means you may share part of the table with another group of people. Seating is limited and its first come. Or if you're on the go you can order at the walk up window. I got there for the breakfast menu which was perfect. The breakfast menu was perfect for my picky eater of a kiddo. You are able to build your own sandwich or plate. Which means you select how you want your eggs cooked, type of bread, type of cheese and sauce. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and manchego cheese mixed in together. As for the bread, I got media noche with calena sauce which is a cilantro sauce but it was very mild spread on like a baguette style bread. My kiddo got eggs, ham and manchego cheese on a croissant. Our were served on a plate and you can either build your own sandwich or just eat it right off the plate. He made excellent recommendations and I went with them all. A manager who leads by example. On a Tuesday afternoon, Guayabo truly demonstrated Michelin level expertise and service honoring their Bib Gourmand recognition. Have been wanting to try this spot out for a while and was really excited to finally stop by. My friend and I were offered a seat at the community table (which is a cool concept) as long as you're open for it. But after we sat down our server let us know two seats at the counter became available so we switched it up and it was cool because you get to see them prep the sandwiches. The vibe by the counter was fun, the music was on point and all the cooks were dancing and having a good time. For an app we started with the ham and bacalao croquetas. They were super delicious and the ham one was huge! Like the mother of all croquetas. My friend got an iced cafe con leche and it was really pretty and she said tasted great. For sandwiches we went with the Tinta y Cafe and Madurito and split them. They were both good but the Tinta y Cafe was super depcious. Each sandwich came with mariquitas which is nice. I finished a little before my friend and we were asked multiple times if we were finished. My friend made a comment that she felt like we were being rushed out (at this point a new server had taken over our table) and I brushed her off because we had only been there in the restaurant about 40 min tops at that point. The newer server dropped off the card reader. But we told her we wanted to order a colada (which I had told our original server I was gonna want a coffee after the sandwiches) and a few croquetas to go. A little while later my coffee came and our new server asked us to finish the coffee standing because other people came in. Idk but that left a really bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to sit and enjoy my coffee and we were still waiting on the to go order. I felt a little awkward just standing in the doorway with my coffee cup and to go sandwich bag under my arm. It sucked because we had just been talking about how much of a fun time we were having and how we wanted to come back. So a little disappointed in that regard. All in all the food is great and so is the ambiance. Service was great up until we were pretty much rushed out of our seats.
